I've been enjoying BBQ at this location, on a monthly basis, for several years. It's not a fancy place -- most mom and pop restaurants aren't -- but the food has plenty of flavor and is lean, with your choice of sauces liberally applied, so get plenty of napkins! They'll even add slaw on the sandwich if you like. The fries are always served hot and crispy, the way I like them! Their hush puppies are good too. The counter service is prompt, your meal is freshly prepared and delivered promptly to your table. I usually visit during the week, for dinner. My father always enjoys the BBQ too and BBQ has always been one of his favorite meals. The tea tastes fresh brewed (unlike the large tea brewer/concentrate/dispensers at a lot of chains) and is self-serve, so you can blend the sweet/unsweet to your preference. Add a fresh slice of lemon -- always available. If you're looking for a quick, tasty BBQ sandwich plate and a cold, fresh iced tea, give them a try! I'm surprised by the older, negative reviews because my visits have been totally contrary to their experience!

First and last time eating here. So GROSS. Very disappointed. So I went to use my free kids meal coupon in the attractions book which they do NOT honor but do not know why. Employees were told not to accept them. They were out of cheeseburgers and they say they have fried chicken but it is actually chicken tenders. Huh?!? Anyway, food has very little taste, too dry and doesn't taste fresh at all. I paid $27+ for 3 kids meals (2-chicken nuggets & 1-BBQ sandwich) and 1 BBQ sandwich plate, with a side of hush puppies. Most of the food went in the trash. Not to mention the place could use a good cleaning. I would travel a little further down the road and head to Smitty's for BBQ or just stay home, save your money and just eat a sandwich!

Very good barbecue at a good price. I had a regular BBQ sandwich with hot sauce. The food was delivered quickly, and was very good. The atmosphere is fitting of a barbecue shop - country and not fancy.

Iama Critic Rating - Little Pigs Bar-B-Q - 2 Stars 110 West Butler Road, Mauldin, SC Overall: Little Pigs Bar-B-Q is located in the Upstate of South Carolina and that means that you can find great four and five star BBQ dives every 10 miles or so. And yet sprinkled in between these great BBQ dives you will find even more places where you can purchase what passes for BBQ. I often wonder what keeps these places open. It certainly isn't their food, ambiance or service. So the only reason I can figure why places like Little Pigs Bar-B-Q are still open is because of customer proximity. That and because Little Pigs is cheap! The Service - 0 Stars (0%) Little Pigs is a pay first, serve yourself, fast food style restaurant, so there is no service. However, perhaps because we arrived within an hour of closing, the lady who took our order made it clear that we were "inconveniencing" her. We made it clear we were there to take pictures and review the restaurant. So does it make sense to display such a poor attitude right in front of the critics? We typically provide 20% or more for 5 star service, 18% for 4, 15% for 3, 12% for 2 and 0% for 1 star service. The Food: $6.89 Regular BBQ Plate - 2 Stars The fries are simply boring and ordinary, but your get plenty. The potato salad tastes like what you get at Walmart, lots of mayo. And compared to every other BBQ dive we have been to, this is some of the weakest smoked BBQ. Heck, you don't even smell smoke in the restaurant at all. This is just a plate full of boredom! $6.39 Cheeseburger Plate - 2 Stars I told the lady who took my order that I was taking pictures of my food order for a review. So naturally she took my burger and mashed the living hell out of it! Because that always looks good in pictures. So I ate the beans, which were actually quite good. Then I ate the coleslaw, which was not good. And then I took that disgusting burger and boxed it up. I took it to the home of my master burger critic and made him eat it. His comments, "At least the tomato was good, The rest is two star (junk)." Ok, he didn't actually say "Junk", but I don't think Yelp will let me print excremental references. Total Bill: $16.33 for two dissatisfied critics. Final Thoughts: Little Pigs Bar-B-Q is missing many features that make a small BBQ dive great. There service is not neighborly, the ambiance is all wrong, the TV was playing international news about wars and death, and worst or all there isn't even a smoky smell. It smelled like every other McDonald's I have been in. Do yourself a favor if you really want BBQ in Mauldin. Get back in your car and drive right down the street to Mutt's BBQ. Mutt's will cost you just a few dollars more but you get a buffet full of flavorful BBQ choices. Oh, and Mutt's smells wonderful like a BBQ dive should.

I will be positive and respectful unlike the service and food for this review. Complete waste of money. The so called barbecue was as plain as paper. The fries, hush puppy's and chicken we all frozen. There is absolutely no fresh food. If it is fresh then the owner or cook should never be allowed to use such a respected title as Chef. There is a very nice big screen tv which is playing news about sad events. The Christmas decorations were dirty. Yes, they are dirty. Just what makes my dinner better, plain boring frozen food with dirty decorations to soothe to meal. The service or lack there of was terrible. They do not even have real fried chicken. I asked the young lady if they had fried chicken. She advise "well the chicken finger are fried". How funny. They didn't even have the heat own. It was freezing inside. It would not surprise me this place will close soon. Poor management and food!!!! Do yourself a favor and do not eat here.

This local favorite has been around for 30 + years and is known for its delicious chopped pork!!! The barbeque is fresh & lean, smoked daily!! The selection of sauces, Hot, Mild, Sweet Mustard and Vinegar, are all homemade and wonderful...as are the baked beans, cole slaw and delicious southern sweet tea. Friday's and Saturdays they have ribs, AWESOME! The chopped pork is perfect and comes with your choice of sauces on it or on the side. Having read some of the other reviews, I wonder what would motivate any reviewer to misinform in such a thoroughly insulting manner!! My recommendation...try it!!! This little BBQ joint is all about the BBQ!!!!! Taste for yourself! Nothing fancy but totally delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
