Served fresh and made to order. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere is very nostalgic and clean. I had the salmon which was very good. The breads were very good as an appetizer. I had the creme brûlée for dessert, and I have yet to have better. Great place for a date night or celebration dinner. I will be return.

I've lived in Georgetown county all my life and today for the first decided to try your restaurant for the first time. A dear friend just started working in the kitchen and has spoken so highly that I had to try it. To begin with the building is so charming and interior well designed. It's fine dining for sure. I sat by a window, and the view to the waterfront was wonderful. The staff was very attentive and even offered some history of the building. I ordered the port tenderloin sliders with sweet potato fries. Food was great, service was great...I'm leaving a very happy custome. I will definately return. 5 stars I say

The waitresses here are very, but not overly, attentive. The food is delicious; fresh made everything. The fish dishes are great; I had the grilled grouper, and it is the best I've ever had. He decor is great, and the staff knows all about the history of the site, which is pretty cool. All in all, this is a great place, and I'd recommend Krystal as a server any day.

Disappointed. Service was incredibly slow and the food was just average. The bill including a bottle of wine was about $130. Given the prices we expected better. BBQ shrimp appetizer and the Brussels sprout appetizers were good, but the crab cakes were average as was the grouper special my husband ordered. The rice was terrible and the grits that came with mine were gluey. Live music was decent but the electric piano was so loud I had a hard time hearing the conversation. Interesting old bank decor but the food wasn't up to snuff.

Probably the assist restaurant that Front Street has to offer. From a fully stocked bar, to fresh seafood, and one of the best chicken Panini's(no longer on the menu) that I have ever had! Every single thing that you'll will get from the Rice Paddy is served fresh and made to order, some of these items might have been alive earlier that day. I had the fish tacos on this day and I thoroughly enjoyed them and I am not a fan of fish. The fish was grouper fresh caught and my grandmother got the fresh salmon. Apparently both were magnificent! If you want a good, fresh, and satisfying meal then check out The Rice Paddy!

Well...we have been going to Rice Paddy for years, their service has continued to disappoint. The food is delicious but their service is very slow. It took us over 3 hours from the time we sat down to the time we paid the bill. Maybe Tuesday nights (We were there 7/29.) are slow nights but there were very few people there so our food should have come out quicker. The waitress also dissappeared for a long time. While the food was great, the slow service or lack of service overshadowed the food especially since the food is expensive.

The Bahamian grouper is amazing. Can't miss. Charming little restaurant in downtown Georgetown.

If you you don't care about where your food comes from or what's in it then this place isn't half bad. I would even go as far as calling the crab cake pretty good. Typical of most southern food, everything was greasy, even the not so sustainably sourced chemi salad and bread rolls. The service was great, our server was super friendly, and I can't say that the food was awful, but the complete disregard for anything even remotely related to health, nutrition or sustainability definitely grossed me out.

We have been coming here for almost 10 years, traveling down from Myrtle Beach. Their Shrimp and Corn Chowder is a must have! Each of their entrees is better than the next. We have only come for lunch but it is so worth it. My glass of ice tea never got below two sips before it was refreshed. Great food, great service!

We went to Rice Paddy over the holiday weekend and were very happy with the experience. It's pretty cool to imagine that the space once was an old bank, but there are enough interior touches to keep historic and modern at the same time. The cuisine is what they call Upscale Low Country cuisine, the low country being an area that stretches along the coast from the Savannah River in Georgia north to Pawley's Island in South Carolina. Think crab, shrimp, grits, fresh oysters. Very southern. Our group tried almost everything, and everything was quite delicious. Standouts include the succulent rack of lamb, and the crab cake entree, well the grouper was super as well. In fact, make sure to listen carefully to the specials since they typically feature fresh local seafood. A nice selection of wine - quite a few from Napa and Sonoma actually - make dining at Rice Paddy a special dining experience whenever you're on historical Front Street.

Best place in Georgetown!!! Better than any restaurant on the Grand Strand too. Consistently good food. I've never had a meal here I didn't enjoy.

The Rice Paddy is a great place to go out to eat for a special occasion. The food is always good and the atmosphere is nice and upscale (one of the few places that has been around for a long time). On this last visit, I needed wi-fi and they've got it. I sat in the bar, had a cappuccino and worked- it was pretty perfect, aside from the long wait for the cappuccino.... I like the bar set-up and they also have sidewalk seating.

Currently, one of our better local restaurants. Located in historical downtown, just across from the Sampit River and boardwalk. Warm, friendly service. Consistently good food.

We have been going to the Rice Paddy for the 30 years they have been open. This is their third location. The restaurant is as good as ever, which is excellent. Although we do not visit the area very often any longer, this is the one place that we won't miss, sometimes two times on a three night visit!

The Rice Paddy is an excellent venue, not to be missed. Each time we have eaten there we have not been disappointed. I save the Rice Paddy for special occasions, wedding anniversaries, holidays, guests. Each time I have sampled the cuisine I have always been impressed. Inside an old bank building, the atmosphere is festive. Oriental rugs hang on the walls. Ceilings are high. During Christmas a huge tree was centered in the main dining room, beautifully decorated. We have this wonderful restaurant on our short list and if you are visiting the area, this is a not-to-miss spot.
