Wow, I have never completely revamped my review in a period of less than two weeks; however, my experience on Friday night at the Olive Garden in Gaffney, has now caused me to reverse that trend: I was in town at my SC home for the holidays. Because I had never had a long wait at Olive Garden (although I had only been there most of the time on a weekday,) there is a dearth of non-chain restaurants in the Spartanburg/Cherokee County area, and it was my last night in SC, I chose to go to the Olive Garden. I also did so because I thought the wait would be minimal, which was necessary because of two children, ages 3 and 20 months. My party of six arrived around 6:30 p.m. We were told that there would be a 15 to 20-minute wait. That was acceptable for a wait with small children so we decided to stay. Thirty minutes later, my daughter checked and was told that there was one party ahead of us. Forty-five minutes later, after listening to very restless and crying children, I checked on the wait. The two hostesses were very noncommittal, indicating that their computers had just gone down and they should be up shortly. I indicated that we were told 15 to 20- minute wait and that our wait time had been substantially longer. I also said that people should be told the real approximate wait time, especially if they had small children. The hostesses basically ignored me and never apologized. By that time, I was debating whether to just leave and find another restaurant. Since we had waited so long, I hesitated leaving and having to wait at another restaurant. We overheard patrons remarking as they left the restaurant after consuming their meal that there were many vacant tables, especially since there were so many people waiting outside. One hour later, after listening to our screaming children, as well as numerous other restless children, we decided to leave and eat anywhere else (including McDonald's if there were no other acceptable options.) We were not the only ones. People were unhappy and chose to walk out at the same time. Let me emphasize that at no time was management present to handle the chaos and that at no time were we ever issued an apology. Our wait at the nearby Sage Brush restaurant? 2 minutes.

This is the best Olive Garden I have ever eaten at. For a minor glitch in my order, the manager came to apologize and offered complementary desserts for all of us! Yes again: all of us!! I told him it was no big deal but he insisted. The waiting staff goes above and beyond to treat you with courtesy. I thought those days of excellent hospitality and courtesy were in the past but this place still keeps that tradition alive. Loved my experience here.

Went to this Olive Garden on a trip home. We stopped to get a salad, bread sticks and a glass of wine. I understand we only ordered a salad however with the glass of wine our average ticket was around 15 dollars per person. Only enough salad for one was served each time including reorders The bread sticks were stale. The service was non existent. Over one hour to stop for a salad. Hope this is not a new company policy in light of the poor financial reports lately.

Where do I start? I love Olive Garden, but I hate this one here in Gaffney. My family has dined here about five times, and I'm currently waiting on my second to-go order. Almost every time, orders here have been wrong, or food has had to be sent back. I've been charged for a bottle of wine I never ordered. And now I'm waiting on an order I called in, which isn't ready. I got here and the very same person I spoke to on the phone looked me straight in the eyes and told me no such order was called in. So here I sit, waiting another 20min while my hungry family waits. To top it all off, the server has to be one of the most rude, smug, outright bitchy people I've yet encountered. Not the slightest hint of an apology, in fact, she inferred that this was somehow MY fault. That's fine Olive Garden of Gaffney, the Aegean is right across the parking lot and I've never had a problem there.

First time here @ the Gaffney location and I was pleased. I met a group of my friends up here for lunch. I had the grilled chicken ceasar salad and it was delicious. The portion size was great too, I actually had enough salad for 2 people. Ordered an ameretta sour from the bar, it was ok, nothing to brag about though. I could tell the sweet & sour mix they used was very much diluted. The waitress was very nice & she even told us her shift was endinb and she broight over & introduced the waiter who would be taking care of us once she left if we were still there after she left.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
