I'm visiting Gaffney and staying at a nearby hotel. My lunch here was very, very nice. It is a nicely decorated restaurant with comfortable booths. My server was so sweet and very attentive to me. I had their Calabash chicken tenders and shrimp plate. The chicken tenders were very tender. Lunch started with a basket of their warm rolls and honey butter. Those were fantastic. My server offered to bring me another basket! By the time I finished my meal, I was a little 'fried' out but I still rate the meal and lunch experience as 5-stars.

I had to take a star for a reason I'll name later. Easily found under Gaffney's giant ass monument, Fatz was a pleasure to eat at. The food here is really good. I had the ribs and chicken combo. The sauce has a good flavor and the chicken tenders were very tasty. The little poppy seed rolls they serve are worth the visit. They taste like lil' elephant ears. Everyone else in our party of 5 enjoyed their food. I would defiantly come back. Why the missing star? Misleading name of the restaurant. I've been to many Hooters over the years. Every time, there were women waiting tables with different sized, prominent hooters in tight t-shirts. I walk into Fatz and find not one fat chick in a tight shirt. Some of the staff was even attractive.

So FATZ has some pretty good reviews on Yelp, and being in a completely new place with not a lot of choices (woo, Gaffney), it seemed the pick of the litter. Sitting under a giant peach is definitely great advertising, but delivery counts. Pros: - The grilled vegetable kabob had a lot of flavor, smokey and fresh. - The beers on draft are reasonably priced. - The staff is very friendly. Cons: - The chicken wings are just not very good. They're never going to be as good as buffalo, but at least get the sauce right. Not this sticky sweet thing. Everything Else: - The fried chicken tenders, which are supposedly a specialty are just alright. Nothing bad about them, but they not great. - The fries were alright too, processed cheese whiz with cheese and bacon crumbles. Nothing special, but far from the best ever. Overall, it's not a bad place, but it's not the best ever. In the Gaffney area this might be top tier, but it's a lonely stretch of highway.

Is today Tuesday? If so, try the Chicken Stew (they only serve it on Tuesdays). It's a cream based heavy soup, a little spicy, and really good. The bartender says they "run out" every Tuesday. I also ordered the Spinach Salad with chicken. It had all the right ingredients (chicken, fresh spinach, red onion, dried cranberries, cherry tomatoes, cheese, egg, bacon) but I did not like the warm bacon dressing - so I would not order this again. The bartender was a great waitress - I ate at the bar. I'd come here again... The food appears fresh. The customer base is a little older than I thought it would be. Mostly seniors when I was here...

I wasn't expecting much from a restaurant that had a gigantic, life-size, peach colored replica of Delta Burke's ass suspended above the roof and visible from the freeway but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. First, the service was outstanding. We had an incredibly attentive waitress and I could see the other patrons were being treated the same. We ordered a smattering of all the southern classic comfort food like fried green tomatoes, fried okra, pot pies, and fried chicken calabash. All of the food was outstanding and the chicken calabash in particular was nothing short of a blessing. Be wary though, eating here with any frequency may send you in for that bypass surgery sooner than you think fatty.

The service was excellent. Our waitress was on top of our needs and the meal was excellent The place had plenty of room to accomodate a lot of people and it was easy to find (for someone that is from out of town like me).

Enjoyed the chicken sandwich - cooked just right - but the Brussels sprouts were incredible! I don't recall having Brussels in a restaurant before and will probably crave these later - waitress Laci was great - friendly, efficient - took good care of us. great place - first visit to one of rhea restaurants -

Visited this place after stopping at the PEACHOID. Great food, and very friendly staff. The calabash chicken was wonderful. Just wish they had these up in Massachusetts haha.

This is one of the best restaurants/cafe that you could possibly eat in the upstate. Fatz Cafe is known for their calabash chicken and delicious steaks that are served here. This place is also great for family gatherings, guys night out, or a date night with your spouse. I'd recommend this place to anyone who likes great food. The only negative I have is that the sweet tea here is hit or miss. Some days is great and some days it's horrible. Order water or soda if you don't want to be disappointed.

I was in the mood for a salad and the spinach salad delivered big-time. It was huge. I will go the Fatz back home now based on how good that salad was. Precious ordered the riblet appetizer. She wanted rub with no sauce. It was basically a salt bomb. I liked the onion rings with it.

We visit Fatz at least monthly, in Spartanburg SC and Forrest City NC, unfortunately our visit at the Gaffney SC location was less than desirable, we had water to drink, the waitress allowed our glasses to empty on 2 occasions, we ordered bread pudding for desert, after about 10 minutes the waitress informed us " The bread pudding had to cook" Why would a restaurant have something on the menu if its not available, a gentleman who identified himself as the manager told us, he would do better next time. This location surely does not display the excellent quality customer service we had.grown accustom to at other Fatz locations

Soup for lunch ..... Not from here! Lousy French onion soup. Onions are almost raw! And way too many Yuck! My girlfriends potato soup was not much better. Big thick undercooked potatoes Normally i love the appetizer bread and chicken fingers. We will be passing on our next trip

First off- ask to sit in Carrie's section. She's the best. Never misses a trick. Fatz is pretty good fare. I can't say I've ever had anything bad here but the menu doesn't WOW me, either. The rolls they bring before the meal are OUTSTANDING. Careful. Before you know it you'll down 5 or 6 and fill up before you food comes. The menu is varied and solid. Nothing really stands out, but there is absolutely value for your dollar here. I've had ribs, steak, shrimp, and a new first today- citrus chicken with steamed broccoli. Very tasty indeed. It's a varied menu with something for everyone. If you are looking for a quality meal at a good price, Fatz is the choice for you. Tell Carrie the boy from Charlotte says hello! Fatz: B

Despite the name, they seem to have recently revamped their menu to be healthier and to have gluten-free options, but not many vegetarian entrees. Seriously, do you have to put bacon on EVERY SINGLE SALAD?! Anyways, I was able to piece together some side dishes which were good. I can recommend the cole slaw, the steamed veggies and the mashed potatoes. My mom and my sister loved the lite grilled salmon and my dad devoured his shrimp & grits. I don't know anyone whose eyes don't light up when the poppy seed rolls & honey butter arrive at the table. They have some new dessert shooters for us sugarholics that need help with portion control. I had the chocolate mousse and the key lime pie shots, which were decent. I think some of the menu items are overpriced for what they are, but our server was good and the bathrooms were clean. As the three starts imply, this place is A-OK.

This place is really good. We got there at 2:50 and we still were able to order off the lunch menu even tho it's only until 3:00. The lunch menu was really cheap and good. I had the chicken wrap and fries and that filled me up. I really liked the food and prices.

Usually solid food here. Have a wide variety of options, good healthy options too. It is smoke free, and they generally have a good draft beer selection. It's not the best dining in the world, but I've never had a problem, and the staff is usually pretty good.

Good service, good food. Had calabash chicken. Very good! Also had potato soup which was excellent. Too much noise. Seated near kitchen. Much yelling and laughing from kitchen staff. Server was at a station directly behind where I was seated, rolling up silverware. She had to talk with every other waitress who walked by. Very distracting while trying to carry on a conversation with my wife......

Amazing service. Very attentive and charmingly chatty. Burger and sweet potato fries were perfect. Burger had that great flame char taste, and the fries were crispy on the outside. One of the best peach cobblers I have ever had. Cinnamon and pecans and good ice cream. Can't fail to find the place. Almost directly under the famous Gaffney peach water tower. Even the wifi worked great.
