This was a first time visit for my husband & second time for me. Our meal was fantastic. I had a veggie calzone which beat other local Greek/Italian restaurants hands down. My husband had an Italian sub & said it was one of the best he has ever eaten. Service was very good. The only complaint was that the tea was not sweet enough for our personal tastes, but nothing a little Splenda can't fix. I will come back here soon again!

According to Thomas Jefferson, "the olive tree is surely the richest gift of heaven." With reference to the Olive Tree in Duncan, I'm gonna say that's a bit of a stretch, though there are indeed small glimmers of glory to be found therein. We showed up at the Olive Tree at 8:35 on a Thursday night (closing time is supposed to be at 9:00). The place was not crowded - only two or three other tables being served - and we were seated immediately and served our drinks promptly. There was absolutely no hint of rushing or exasperation from the staff, despite the fact that we were certainly going to stretch them past normal business hours. Our waitress was attentive, though not very knowledgable about the dishes with respect to preparation methods or flavor profiles. Our group of 4.5 ordered a variety of Greek and Italian meals, each served with a salad. The salad, no joke, was a huge highlight in my opinion. Fresh leaf lettuce, feta, olives, tomato, and excellent house-made Greek vinaigrette. We were pretty jazzed up about what delights would surely follow, but sadly that's when the meal backslid into mediocrity. My wife and I enjoyed our entrees - I got the Greek combination (souvlaki meats & potatoes) and she got ricotta-stuffed shells. Nothing earth-shattering about either one, but both tasty and enjoyable. However, our counterparts across the table got chicken parmesan and eggplant mousaka, and both dishes were sorely lacking in the texture and seasoning departments. In truth, they were two perfectly hot, heaping, good-looking plates of disappointment served with a side of longing - the kind that made me wanna say, "Why, Olive Tree, WHY?" Let me assure you, I take no pleasure in directing negativity toward food of any kind, so my assessment of mediocrity comes with a heavy heart. But the facts remain: Olive Tree is a great little casual repose that needs to reassess its product a bit. I'd love to return in the future to find the improvements in quality I longed for. Time will tell, my friends. Time will tell.

Disappointing. Although the restaurant was only about a third full, we had to wait to be seated. The hostess said it was because they needed the kitchen to catch up. Meanwhile, the gentlemen in the group ahead of us must have held the door 6-7 times for the server to go in and out for the 2 tables outside. Apparently my order of pizza with hamburger, Canadian bacon, black olives, green peppers, and extra cheese it was a challenge. She said what was it besides hamburger you wanted. After about 30 minutes pizza arrives. Pepperoni pizza. After getting another servers attention, I advise it is not my pizza. Are you sure? She asks. Yes. I am. They take it away. Another 24 minutes and finally pizza. It's ok. We ate it. Much like a Papa Murphy pizza.

Best Gyro I have ever had. My husbands salad was fresh. The place seemed clean and nice staff.
