Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

If it weren't for the sub par service tonight, it would receive five stars. There's just something about a server who never smiles, can't be found when you need something, and doesn't bother to refill your drinks. The older ladies who work up front are always so nice, though. Clean store, clean restroom, mostly friendly people.
Been to this same restaurant about 4 times, so they must be doing something right. The staff is generous. There are always customers. Food wait can be anywhere from 10 minutes to 30. I always get the country boy's big breakfast. Medium rare steak. They have a variety of jams and apple butter. Biscuits are always fresh. Very clean and opens early.
Tyrell is an excellent server. Wish I had 1/10th of his energy ! Great personality. Oh and breakfast was awesome too ! Mommas French toast breakfast ....yuuummmm

Excellent food, great service what else can I say this place rock's. BEST Mexican Restaurant in Duncan and surrounded area, no questions about! Try and you will see.
Just left there for lunch. I had the grilled chicken salad for $6.50. It was really good and the service was fast and friendly. My compatriots had more recognized "mexican" fare and look like they really enjoyed. I am not opposed to returning and will update when we do so.
I've been here a few times for lunch and was blown away by the Chori Pollo, spicy. The service is always quick and friendly, and the food has been consistently delicious. The chips are also usually fresh and warm, with very good salsa(s). For added flavor ask for a side of Pico de Gallo. This is one of my favorite Mexican places in SC.

Bill's place is quite possibly the best hole-in-the-wall meat & three place near BMW. I think they must have bought a school portable and made it into a restaurant. Cramped, loud, hot, dated, but good authentic local home cooking. Check it out if you're looking for something other than McDonalds. One note: They are only open for breakfast and lunch, and I'm pretty sure they're not open on weekends.

Firehouse Subs

Reviews:
Great subs but they can be a bit soggy sometimes. Staff has always been friendly when we've gone in - even the teens working there. Restaurant has always been clean from what I've seen. We like the assortment of hot sauces they have on the counter to chose from. They label them with a number coinciding with how hot they are. The coke machine is nice. You can choose from dozens of different flavors.
This is kind a competitor to Subway and thank you very much for being open on Sunday near Gaffney. The staff was great. Everyone welcomes you when you walk in. So why two stars? 1. Mediocre bread. It looks good but it mushy and the crust is for show, not crunch. 2. The ingredients were bland. I survived four years as an undergrad living on hoagies in Philly. Other than the shape, these subs have nothing in common with a hoagie. (Nor do Subways subs for that matter.) That said, mushy, bland subs are apparently what America wants. 3. The restroom was a mess.
Love this place though a bit pricey. One of the best subs around. I especially love the various sauces that you can add to your sandwich yourself.

We stopped on our way to the Greenville airport. (7 miles) This was a good find! The restaurant is under new ownership as of January 1,2015. Logan was wonderful! Delicious BBQ, great family atmosphere, real southern hospitality. We would highly recommend if traveling through Duncan.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Everything is delicious. Most of the staff is very friendly. They have the best macaroni & cheese I've ever had.
A sometimes hit in place when I am in the area. It's better than 3-stars but not 4-stars IMO. Everything is good, just not outstanding. meats are smoked. I always get their pork, I've not had their ribs. Maybe I'll give that a try sometime. Worth the stop if you are in the area, wouldn't drive out of the way

Best Thai around and it is family owned - fresh food and they use fresh locally grown veggies. Yum
Well, I tried the place again. Ordered pad thai and a thai tea. pad thai was unfortunately too spicey for me, despite my specifically asking them to make it mild. A few years ago, this place got sold or changed ownership or all their recipes were changed. I don't know. But since then, it just has not been the same. Their prices went up too much, their staff (especially one older lady who doesn't know how to smile) is curse and unapproachable, and their new recipes are bland. My husband used to get the lobster and scallops, but now he says it's too bland. I sooooo wish that they hadn't messed with things because this place is very close by and was one of our favorite restaurants for many years. Now, not so much. It's just too expensive. I paid $11 for pad thai!!! That's just unheard of.
Best sushi in Duncan, SC Great service and delicious foods. I can always order their sushi and it'll be the freshest. The price is less than Sake Grill and the sushi taste way better too. I've tried other dishes like the curry and the noodle dishes. I wish they served pho because it'll be sweet to have a Thai restaurant nearby with my favorite dishes. I love the Thai tea and the people are nice.

I had the Chicken Parmisian it was ok nothing spectacular I should of went to the Greek at this place. They have really good specials and a warm atmosphere. Its a great stop on the way to ashville coming from Greer.
Very good. But now, I will tell something about this restaurant for my German friends, because in Duncan are often people from Germany. Das Essen hier ist einfach Spitze. War hier mehrmals essen, als ich das letzte mal Duncan war. Kann es nur wärmstens empfehlen
This is an ok place. Needs a lot of updating, the restaurant had a bad smell to it. Food was ok. Many people told me I have to try this place, really not impressed.

Olive Tree

Reviews:
This was a first time visit for my husband & second time for me. Our meal was fantastic. I had a veggie calzone which beat other local Greek/Italian restaurants hands down. My husband had an Italian sub & said it was one of the best he has ever eaten. Service was very good. The only complaint was that the tea was not sweet enough for our personal tastes, but nothing a little Splenda can't fix. I will come back here soon again!
According to Thomas Jefferson, "the olive tree is surely the richest gift of heaven." With reference to the Olive Tree in Duncan, I'm gonna say that's a bit of a stretch, though there are indeed small glimmers of glory to be found therein. We showed up at the Olive Tree at 8:35 on a Thursday night (closing time is supposed to be at 9:00). The place was not crowded - only two or three other tables being served - and we were seated immediately and served our drinks promptly. There was absolutely no hint of rushing or exasperation from the staff, despite the fact that we were certainly going to stretch them past normal business hours. Our waitress was attentive, though not very knowledgable about the dishes with respect to preparation methods or flavor profiles. Our group of 4.5 ordered a variety of Greek and Italian meals, each served with a salad. The salad, no joke, was a huge highlight in my opinion. Fresh leaf lettuce, feta, olives, tomato, and excellent house-made Greek vinaigrette. We were pretty jazzed up about what delights would surely follow, but sadly that's when the meal backslid into mediocrity. My wife and I enjoyed our entrees - I got the Greek combination (souvlaki meats & potatoes) and she got ricotta-stuffed shells. Nothing earth-shattering about either one, but both tasty and enjoyable. However, our counterparts across the table got chicken parmesan and eggplant mousaka, and both dishes were sorely lacking in the texture and seasoning departments. In truth, they were two perfectly hot, heaping, good-looking plates of disappointment served with a side of longing - the kind that made me wanna say, "Why, Olive Tree, WHY?" Let me assure you, I take no pleasure in directing negativity toward food of any kind, so my assessment of mediocrity comes with a heavy heart. But the facts remain: Olive Tree is a great little casual repose that needs to reassess its product a bit. I'd love to return in the future to find the improvements in quality I longed for. Time will tell, my friends. Time will tell.
love the food the calzone is delicious and everything is homemade. i have been here several times and never had to wait. the employees are very friendly and my wife and i have ordered takeout several times with consistently good food even to go

Take out items are pretty delicious. The size of onions used in the dishes are abnormal. Shrimp sauce goes great with everything their. The hibachi plates are the best when it comes to Sake Grill. Sushi...not so much. When they first opened, sushi was always on point. Nowadays, sushi doesn't taste good enough to be overpriced. If you want good sushi for a good price, hop on over next door to Thai Garden. The manager is pretty nice and the service can be a lot better. The eggdrop soup is never consistent. I like my meals consistent. Conclusion: you get what you pay for.

Taco Bell is Taco Bell. It doesn't ring everyone's "bell," but it's a good choice for your quick Mexican fix. They have always been "consistent" in my book. They are consistently average. don't get me wrong. I love the food. The folks are nice enough. There's just nothing that makes the place AWESOME. It's average. But I gave it four stars because the food is always good, I don't get sick from it, and it's inexpensive and close to home. :)
Wow close to the worst experience ever! Walk in floors sticky and the air was on. It's 47* outside. Order taker helpful until other employee comes on with phone and he says "oh this is my sister, will you do them" Order was tung up wrong, forgot item. Food took forever to receive then was cold. Chicken was rubbery. The crunch wrap was stale wrap. Employee walking around the registers rapping /singing How is this location still operating?!
I should have read these reviews before I went on my lunch break today. I got the Taco Pizza and 2 taco combo and not one thing was edible. The pizza was burnt and the meat inside was hard, tasted like it had been re-heated multiple times and the tacos were completely cold, no part of them was even warm. I know now why I never go there when I work right beside of it.
