Accidently came upon The Charcoal Grill after almost settling for fast food. We'll worth it. Only $8 including tax and drink. Wonderful southern cooking. Fresh vegetables, salad bar, fish, chicken bog, fried chicken, breads, and desserts if you still have room. Looked like the place where the locals eat. Worth a drive if you are any where close.

From the day this China buffet opened it's been a hit with me and my family. It's clean and the food and service outdo each other. It boasts a large buffet with lots of options and a wonderful menu to order from. This is a five-star restaurant in a wonderful small hometown setting. It rarely get any better.

Papa Tom’s Drive In Restaurant

Reviews:
I stopped here on my drive from Savannah, GA to Wilmington, SC. It's a few miles off the highway and definitely worth the trip. We ordered two Papa Burgers (double cheeseburger with chili and onions) and a side of fries along with two drinks, and it came to $12.99. Very reasonably priced, and sooooooooooo delicious. Amazing sweet tea also!!! They were so friendly, and it seemed like all the staff knew their customers. What a lovely place to visit! We ate outside at the picnic table with our dog, who they gave some ice water. Definitely a welcome meal that isn't your traditional fast food!!! I highly recommend.
I've been eating at this restaurant since we moved down from New York in 1977 I was 13 years old I'm 51 now and I still enjoy it .the food is simple, good and well priced. One of the best small town places to eat in South Carolina. Welcome to Dillon.
No frills and no fuss. It's a hometown favorite and it's cheap & satisfying! I'm from Dillon and grew up on this stuff. I've lived in Atlanta for over 20 years and I find myself coming back on my visits. Always good to come here & eat a Papa Burger - all the way!

We stopped there on a long drive on 95. the restaurant was conveniently less than 5 min from 95. The food had a home cooked meal feel to it that we liked. The owner told us which food was actually vegetarian (no fish sauce/ chicken stock etc... in my experience, many if not most Asian places consider a dish vegetarian even if it has those as long as there are no pieces of meat). We got the vegetable teriyaki and added tofu. It also came with a side salad.
Very reasonable great tasting food and good service to top it off. We stopped with our 2 kids (2 yrs and 3 months) on our way to the beach. Thumbs up!
This is some of the best Japanese food I've had. I'm here on business from Raleigh, NC. We need this place in Raleigh. Very clean and good customer service as well.

Are at King's while on travel for work. We always try to find local places to eat and this was a nice find. The mushroom cheesesteak was very good with the salad bar. Good, local, southern service in Dillon.
We stopped in on the way down 95. Had a pizza, chicken parm, and some cheese sticks. The cheese sticks were regular fare. The pizza was OK. Skip the chicken parm - They were chicken patties. Good service from a young staff.
LOVE THIS PLACE!! The best kept secret of DIllon SC!! The subs are amazing...the pizza is DEVINE and the staff...a breath of fresh air compared to your below adequate fast food joint. Try the Mushroom Steak sub, or the House Special Pizza.....or the "dry" chilcken wings...soo good! This review has made me hungry...think i'll head over there now. :)

All the employees are really nice here and the food is good
This was a place we would eat at weekly, now I will never go back. Waitstaff is very inattentive and don't refill drink or get order right. I ordered a chicken dish that came steak told waitress and she proceeded to ask me did I want her to take it back. Once I got correct order it was dry and had cheap chicken pieces full of fat. Person in party drinking never got asked would they like another had to share my drink so they would have something.
Very middle of the road. Don't be afraid of the run down look of the place. The address on yelp is wrong -- it's right next to KFC on 301. I was passing by on I-95 and wanted some Mexican food that wasn't Taco Bell. This place fit what I was looking for. Decent food, pretty quick service, and cheap. It seemed like a local favorite, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back to this place.

Reviews:
Recent renovations have closed off the tiny bar section of this restaurant from the God-fearing patrons enjoying their meals. After all, we don't want to offend anyone with our boozing and smoking. OK, I could do without the stench of cigarette smoke, but we *are* in tobacco country. It's a favorite destination for all expatriates during weekends home to visit Mom & Dad (most especially Thanksgiving weekend). There's an adjacent banquet hall for the occasional small town shin dig, but please remember where you are. Indoor port-a-johns and handwritten bar tabs are part of the deal. Admittedly I can't write about the dining experience, but I've heard very good things about the food and friendly service that is worlds different from the charming but smokey pool-hall atmosphere I've come to love.
Friendly, affordable, and a great setting to grab a bite to eat and enjoy time with friends. Beer is always cold and reasonably cheap. All the food I've had has been good. I'm only giving 4 stars due to when it's busy the service can take a little longer. All in all, a pretty good place.
Took a chance and decided to stop here... Lots of charm!! AMAZING FOOD!! Large portions!! Awesome customer service!! Our waitress, Storm, was super sweet, attentive, and had an awesome personality! Next time we are in the area we will make sure we stop back in, even if we have to go out of our way!

Carolina Seafood Restaurant & Market

Reviews:
Wasn't open when I got there despite a lit neon OPEN sign in the window! Fail!
At first, I was really skeptical given there were no previous reviews and given the somewhat weathered look of the outside. Nonetheless, my family gave it a shot, and to my surprise, the experience was great. The (principal) food is both fresh and saltwater fish that's deep fried and served with fries, slaw, and hush puppies. Obviously, sweet tea is a must. Overall, the food was tasty and pretty unhealthy, I'm sure. The shrimp dinner was good ($9) and very filling. The fried fish was pretty tasty because it was so fresh having just been caught that morning. Just be prepared to answer if you prefer the head on or off when you order. (love it!). The staff abounds with the Southern charm you'd expect from a restaurant off of the beaten path in South Carolina. If nothing else, that hospitality makes skipping the fast food chains right off 95 well worth it as you're driving through. Besides serving food, the restaurant, adorned with family photos and newspaper clippings, sells fish by the pound, loaves of bread, and candy as well as oddities like silver handled brushes (unless those were just for display...?). If you want the true flavor of the coastal South, I'd recommend stopping here.
Don't let the quirky atmosphere fool you. The people behind the clean and efficient counter couldn't be nicer. The portions were generous and the fresh tea bottomless. Better than anything else This town has to offer. Fish and only fish with limited sides. But very good food.

Huddle House W

Highway 9 & # # I-95
Dillon, 29536
Reviews:
I'm beginning this review before I receive my food. This is my first time at a Huddle House. We entered Huddle House and sat ourselves as there is no hostess stand. The waitress looked at us when we entered and I smiled at her. We sat at the table and reviewed our menus for a good ten minutes or so before our waitress came over and asked if we knew what we wanted to drink. The waitress was nice enough. I ordered a chocolate milkshake which was really just a cup of milk when I got it. They were just about out of ice cream so the waitress tried to make me a milkshake with what they had. It was not chocolatey at all. It wasn't thick in the least. It was really just a cup of milk with some froth on top. I ordered my breakfast and the waitress asked me if any sausage or bacon came with my breakfast platter. Maybe she's new. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for not knowing. My boyfriend was in the bathroom when I ordered so I ordered his too. It wasn't a complicated order. Two breakfast platters. One with eggs over easy, the other with scrambled eggs and the hashbrowns "all the way." She repeated the order and walked away, only to come back moments later to ask how our eggs were to be cooked. We are waiting for our food now... At this time, my review is only one star. .... 18 minutes after we ordered, waitress comes back to double check what my boyfriend ordered. ... Now that I have finished my meal, I will finish my review. After checking my boyfriend's order, it was still wrong. Luckily they didn't charge us for the grits the waitress thought he ordered. The food was good overall. It didn't look too appetizing, but covered up with ketchup, you couldn't see the visual unattractiveness of the meal. Food was good. Service was subpar. It took far too long for each aspect of our visit. Overall experience was poor. We were not impressed and I do not think we will be visiting a Huddle House in the future.

Subway

211 Radford Blvd
Dillon, 29536
Reviews:
This is the most inefficient Subway I have ever been to. - There were (from what I can tell) four employees there, but only two working up front: a third person (maybe a trainee?) just stood there aimlessly, though did take bread out at one point. - They were baking bread during a high-traffic lunch period, having to stop and put cheese on bread while customers were waiting. - The person doing the toppings had to do double duty as cashier and triple-duty as the person putting the cheese on the bread. - The bread on our subs was pretty clearly the previous day's bread. Service was good all things considered, but it was pretty clear the systems here have issues.
