The food was ok but not great. The one in myrtle beach was much better. The staff were friendly but the food was just eh, then again I wasn't that hungry in the first place.

T-Bonz is a local restaurant that use to specialize in steaks. This West Ashley location is the original and where it all started. They USE to specialize in steak. With all the great places to eat in Charleston this wouldn't be anywhere near the top of my list for places to go to get a good steak. That's a shame for built its reputation as a steakhouse. The quality is never really that great, the temps can be off, and their selection of cuts and prices can absolutely be matched by other local and chain restaurants. Why pay almost $20 for a rack of ribs or ribeye when you can get better quality for less down the street? The service here is ok. Some servers and bartenders are on point. Some...well they just aren't. The management is up and down. Matt is one of the faces that has been around for a while now. He's great, very polite, friendly, and helpful. You can't say that for all the others. The restaurant has a pretty decent deck that they should consider getting more use out of. Have some bands, do some events when the weather is nice. Utilize that space.

My husband and I often drive by and talk about stopping in, but haven't actually done so until today. BOY are we glad we did! the happy hour specials are great value for price, both food and drink, and with a lot of different options. We ordered a steak salad and the Texas melt. The steak was cooked perfectly with a great ingredient distribution and the sandwich was delicious, but was on quite possibly the worst bread ever, think foot long hot dog bun. Also, the flash fried Brussels sprouts were fantastic. Overall we would absolutely come here again, but man do something about that bread...

The best things about here are the good drinks and happy hour! The food is pretty good. Its not my favorite place for dinner but I like going here after work for appetizers, desserts and drinks.

Second time at this location waitress was nice. Management was nice as well. I ordered the Texas melt and thought I would get a panini kind of sandwich instead it was a sub. I picked thru the meat. The manager took my plate and saw I didn't like it asked what he could do to fix. I said nothing because it was just me personally. The waitress came back with an arm full of desserts and said we will get one for free and my sandwich was taken off the bill.

Good local steak house, something for everyone on the menu. They have their own micro-brew selection, I recommend the Nut Brown or Cooper River Red. Good selection of desserts too. This location is what started it all for the restaurant group, so check out the original.

Food is pretty good. Atmosphere is old and run of the mill. They need to update! The calamari app was not very good but the pickle chips were delicious. The service is okay, but not outstanding. Step it up a notch---we need good places to eat in West Ashley!

Friendliest place to enjoy an incredible steak dinner in Charleston! It was like going to a dear old friend's house for dinner. From the time we walked in the door, the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. My prime rib was perfect, a juicy medium-rare, just as I hoped it would be. Just when I thought nothing could top my steak, they brought out a platter of desserts. My eyes lit up when I saw the decadent red velvet cake on there. Of course I HAD to have it! Although I could only eat half of it, they happily boxed up the rest for me to take home. On the way out, our server ran to open the door for us and thank us again for coming. How sweet!!! If Charleston is the friendliest city, this is how that title was earned. I will absolutely be back again and again!

It was a great dining experience. The special, shrimp and grits, was delicious. The sirloin was good. The service was good also. The rocky road cheesecake was fantastic, but the cake my sister had was just ok. In all, I strongly recommend Tbonz to anyone in Charleston.

T-Bonz in West Ashley appears to have gotten a lot of its original pep back, as we had an excellent visit today! The staff was enthusiastic and attentive, the meals came out in a timely manner and were perfectly done, the quality of our entrees was superior and the quantity plentiful, and the homebrew was extremely cold! My friend and I particularly liked that our glasses never ran dry and the manager made it a point to speak to us and every other table there. It didn't hurt that Motown was playing! Good times and good memories of the restaurant that originally set the bar for others in the area such as Outback and Kickin Chicken.

The atmosphere is average... The wings are GREAT. I can't say much for the menu because I have only had the wings, but they (the wings) are by far my favorite in Charleston. It would be really great if they could put some heaters outside, that would make me come back during the fall.

I agree with Matthew on this one. It's a steakhouse. The servers are always sweet in the dining area and they bring you a mountain of food. We got a fantastic Tuna sandwich last time I was there. That will probably be the last time. Here's where they lost me. I go around 5:30 for Happy Hour and it was raining and freezing outside, so the patio was way out of the question. The bar was full with one man taking up an entire booth eating. We were told we could just stand around as long as we were aware of the staff trying to get by and that we definitely could not occupy a booth in the dining area to eat and enjoy the Happy Hour specials. "Happy Hour is only at the bar", I was told. So I left with my lady friend and went to Kickin Chikin to eat dinner and enjoy Happy Hour at our table (which wasn't at the bar...) Not sure about ever going there again. Get there an hour before Happy Hour to secure your seat and beer specials is my only suggestion.

This is not a steak house in my opinion but yet a nice place to get lots of great food options. My favorites from here is the she crab soup, and the tommy fries! I often get the prime rib sandwich and just dont eat the bread, after eating my she crab soup and tommy fries who needs the extra bread which I dont think is offered any more. it is a pub type atmosphere, seating is tight and service has been hit or miss. But anytime I have extra time in Charleston I have to get in here to have my fix of she crab soup

I will never fault a restaurant for being a steakhouse. Places whose niche is built around serving meat will really have to work it to get a bad review from me so I'll dig deep in my bag and bust out 3 & 1/2 stars for T-bonz. The world needs more meat eaters and this is an acceptable choice if you meet any of the following criteria: - don't have $XXX to hit Oak Steakhouse - Can't stomach another fake Aussie steak with an equally fake Aussie fosters while someone imitates steve irwin in the other booth. "Crikey.... (punch to face)..." - your grill is that old hibachi from college where the bottom is literally falling out and you balance coals like Jenga to warm up a simple hot dog (I only say this because I reek of guilt - have since repented) - you eat medium well to well-done steaks, narrowly avoiding yelper's derision and scathing rebuke - you had an accident with paint that limited your full appreciation of a good steak (hence no Oak) Atmosphere - average service - friendly if a bit harried Food - average to slightly above if your expectations are low. Steaks always cooked properly and actually pretty good flavor. I had one marinated (drunken ribeye?) at it was excellent. Next time wasn't quite as good - meat was a little fatty even for a Ribeye. I'm not talking about marbling, either. On positive side, the flavor was still right on. value - average beers on tap - make some of their own supposedly. Was not that impressed with most. Tasted "grassy", and I am now a self-styled beer aficionado since I stopped drinking 20 in a sitting. Good for going out with the guys. Meat at a good price in a "guy-friendly" atmosphere (and I'm not talking about strippers)

Quality seems to decline every time they change the menu. I used to be a regular, but I have moved on.

Had a great time there last night. We got there at 5 which meant there wasn't a line. We were seated right away and our server had out drinks quickly. Now about our server, her name is Anna, she was wonderful! funny, professional and most of all no nonsense. She had our order taken and food back to us in a flash. I do like that. The food was really good, wife had the burger and sweet potato fries, she did rave about her meal. I had the chicken fingers and fries. Well done folks I wasn't disappointed with our meals and worth the money too. We'll be back.

I'm not really a big fan of TBonz. It's just average, I guess, and the food wasn't that great. I had the Greek salad with shrimp for a lunch special, and it wasn't that great of a salad. Small portions, only 3 shrimp on the salad (small shrimp too), and it was full of onions- yuck! The main plus was that my salad came quickly- extremely quickly, so I guess they're basically premade except for the shrimp? Probably won't be going back.

Still craving for my ribs sandwich in another city, in another restaurant, so we bought Slow Roasted Baby Back Ribs 1/2 Rack, Sweet Potato fries and southern slaw with my husband. It was PERFET for just the 2 of us. He even ate all his portion of Sweet Potato fries, and he usually don't eat those! We'll recommend.

Very gross!! Asked for no blue cheese. Came covered. Waitress nowhere to be found. Told manager and they said sorry. That's it. Just I'm sorry. Full price for a disgusting salad that was ordered wrong. Ate 1/2 before I got tired of picking out blue cheese. Can't believe no effort was made to resolve this. Never coming here again.
