Had dinner here this past Monday. Our flight cancelled so thought we'd make the best of it and go downtown. We each had the Drunken ribeye. Delicious. Seasoned to perfection. Mine was ordered medium well to well. It arrived a bit undercooked. The good news is the manager on duty gave us a round of drinks while waiting for my steak temp tone adjusted. Broccoli side was tasty and cooked nice and firm. Definitely an enjoyable dinner with a very pleasant staff to take the sting out of our extended stay in Charleston. Thank you!

Have been to this location twice now. We went in for lunch both times and got their T Bonz Texas Melt. It's not what it says in the menu when it describes a melt with "shaved prime-rib." It's an actual full size steak that they try to fold and fit into a hoagie roll, not a melt at all. It's ridiculously difficult to eat and not very tasty to tell the truth. Their food does not seem very fresh at all. After not being very impressed the first time we figured we would give it another shot and was once again met with the same dissatisfaction. There are definitely better places to eat downtown. We won't be going back.

Well a misogynistic waiter who told me because I'm a girl I would only like wheat beers (having worked for a Distributer in my hometown serving beers for festivals and having a passion for beer) and cold mashed potatoes I will not be returning to this establishment. Environment was great, selection was great, just fell short on temperature and experience.

They tried and it was a good effort. I WOULD recommend this to others, although we had a couple snafus during our visit. I truly appreciate the staff and managers attempt to correct our visit. I called ahead for reservations and of course was late keeping them, but they still held our table. Nachos were properly stacked (Yes!! don't you just hate it when all the toppings don't get to the middle and bottom and you're stuck with half a plate of plain chips?) and filling. The steaks were good, one was severely under cooked, but he was willing to eat it instead of sending it back. I had a fantastic syrah that was more memorable than my chicken - or was it salmon? (What do you want from me? My family loves red meat and I don't!). We ordered dessert to split between 4 people. We ordered the brownie, but got something with cookies; which was good, just not what we ordered. There were a couple other mix ups, but all corrected. I'm writing this almost a month later and recalling our experience as a pleasant one. If I'm ever in Charleston again I would go back. The decor was pretty cool - fake distressed walls, a Moona Lisa and other silly-themed pieces of cow art, dark woods, some non-tacky kitsch and big booths so you have a bit more privacy.

My first time visiting Charleston, SC and I have enjoyed every minute. The food and people have been amazing... Well until I walked into T-Bonez. To make this short- my gf ordered a drink, we turn around and some frat boys had tampered with it. We asked the female bartender to remake bc we think they had done something to it. She said of course I will remake it. 5mins later we get the bill and she charged us for remaking the drink... WTF. U agreed to remake bc of the "questionable" situation and then charge us for it.. What made it better was when I asked her about the charge she said, "it's not my fault, I'm not your babysitter"... Talk about southern hospitality. Was planning on coming back there until this sh*t treatment. Will never be back and tell everyone the same.

I ordered chicken nachos ($8.95) and fried brussel sprouts ($2.95). Both were delicious! The nachos were a great value and unlike anywhere else I've had nachos, these nachos were pulled chicken and the toppings were plentiful and reached the bottom chips, so there was not a huge heap of dry nachos hiding underneath. The brussel sprouts were lightly seasoned with salt and pepper. I loved the crisp texture and the flavor of the sprouts! (I usually eat my brussel sprouts roasted (love!), and this is a close comparison. Definitely do not taste like boiled, which I dislike!) The service was good too. I left satisfied and would definitely go back!

Stopped in for some late night bites and drinks. They have a good menu even late & if you like local beers this is a spot to get some good brews!

Came in on a Saturday night at 830, expecting a wait, but there wasn't a wait at all which is cool but it's also indicative of what was to come. As soon as we were seated, the waiter asked us what we wanted before we even got a chance to open the menu. He took our drink order, and then I'm pretty sure he forgot about us. About 10 minutes later, after seeing him delivering drinks to a bunch of other tables, it was obvious that he'd forgotten us. No big deal, honest mistake. The drinks finally came, and they were good. I had an old fashioned and it was pretty well made. The food was great, and that's why I gave this place 3 stars. I had the drunken ribeye with Brussels sprouts, and both were cooked and seasoned perfectly. My wife had the steak salad and she said the steak was good but she wasn't a huge fan of the dressing. Said it was a little too sweet for her taste. Once dinner finished, the waiter came and asked us if we wanted a dessert menu, and we said sure. About 15 minutes later, we still had no menu and I had to go find him and ask for the check. I don't know if this was his first night, but he was terrible and definitely is the only reason this review doesn't have 4 or 5 stars.

Salmon was really good! Also, try the berry cobbler from Kaminsky's!hey are open late night and the atmosphere and service was perfect to end a long day.

Right off the market in Charleston, we decided to go to T-Bonz. The burgers were cooked as ordered and very juicy with flavor. The tommy fries were outstanding and the ranch at the bottom reminded me of a place in our home town. From the point of entering the establishment the employees were very kind and checked on us in just the right timeframe to make sure we were doing ok. I would go back.

Great location in the historic district of Charleston. The food was good. Portion size was filling. Service was fast. Staff was friendly. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

This is a steakhouse, so I don't know why you would want to order salmon salad! Lol That's where a lot of the bad reviews mainly refer to. We tried a few cocktails & specialty beers...all was good. Had the ribeye with slaw & Caesar salad...steak cooked perfect!!...sides were good. Hubby had prime rib with loaded potato. Excellent! We got the cobbler for dessert, & one of the best desserts ever! Had reservations, but arrived 15 mins early...got seated & not a long wait on the food. Waitress was good!

Just had a nice dinner at T-Bonz. I usually try to stay away from chains when I travel, but Magnolia's was booked. We saw T-Bonz and steak sounded good so decided to go with it. We both ordered filets - they were a tad over cooked, but the flavor was wonderful - we enjoyed them. We topped off our meal with piece of chocolate cake from Kiminskys ( a dessert and coffee house next door that connects to T-Bonz). You can take a peek at the offers and come back to your table and order. The cake was good, it didn't blow me away, but it was good. All in all, a good meal in Charleston that didn't break the bank.

Came here with hubby for Christmas weekend. I ordered chopped steak and he the hot dog. He said the bun was better than the dog and my chopped steak was made well done when ordered medium. It still taste good but would of been better medium. It was a bit dry and had no gravy. I also ordered the expresso dessert martini and it was small and tasted of only coffee. Don't know if we will return. Nice atmosphere and our waitress was adorable.

We took a carriage ride and afterwards we were looking for a light snack. Since its Valentine's Day, every restaurant was packed. Luckily, we stumbled upon TBonz with only a 15 minute wait for two. We started with beers. This place is known for world famous homegrown ales. I tried the RJ Rocker's Peach White Ale and loved it. I'm a huge fan of wheat drinks so this one really hit the spot. My boyfriend had the New South Ale ipa. He was a big fan of this beer too. We moved on to appetizers and shared the seafood dip and the she crab soup. The she crab was absolutely amazing. The seafood dip was okay, we didn't finish the dip and instead used the chips to dip into the she crab soup. We highly recommend the she crab, it was delightful! Finally, we shared the bbq platter and we both enjoyed it. Bbq wings and ribs will always hit the spot!

Very disappointed. I've actually eaten here many, many times and have always had a good experience, except for yesterday. My friend and I were essentially denied service because we had 6 well dressed and very well behaved kids with us. As a local, I will make sure to let everyone know how we were treated yesterday. Just for clarification, we were there yesterday, December 9 at approx 1:00 PM. It was the hostess that did not want to seat us.

In downtown Charleston. 3 stars for the food and 1 star for the ambiance. Nice brick and dark wood pub feel but light and airy with two story ceilings. TV screens on the pub side. Free wifi. The salads are full of head lettuce unfortunately instead of romaine lettuce. Grilled chicken was fine mashed potatoes were not bad. Staff personable and light music in the background. Prices are very good. A good spot for a drink.

Great happy hour specials, service and crowd! Crispy calamari was awesome - not rubbery at all which is a fear when ordering out. Great local beers - try the red river Amber ! Now for the dinner : we ordered ribs , wings, fish and chips with slaw & sweet potato fries . Awesome bar/pub fare. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Will be going back !

Great location, good vibe, normal sports bar, lots of local beers. I had the smallest chicken sandwich ever; it didn't even cover the small sized bun.

Had the Ceasar Salad which was tasty and the Drunken Ribeye with a side of onions and mushrooms. Highly recommend the Ceasar Salad as the size was perfect (side portion came in big bowl) and the croutons were to die for. The Drunken Ribeye was cooked to perfection (medium baby!) but was a little off on the flavor. It carried a hint of the Jack Daniels sauce, but wasn't as powerful as I would like it with respect to flavor. I would order it again and recommend it...filled me up just right. As for the onions and mushrooms...bland and tastless. Would NOT recommend those. Needed salt, it wasn't cooked right...did the cooks taste the thing? I know they have a bunch of desserts but I didn't have the room after my Apple Cider Beer.

I haven't tried anything here other than the sirloin steak. I really like it and I think it's a great value. It also helps that's it's next to Kaminski's.

We had to wait several minutes for a table in a half empty restaurant. Upon being seated we met a truly disinterested young person waiting tables for the summer. I was shocked each time she actually returned to the table. My companion enjoyed her steak. The shecrab soup was fine, but not good or great. I ordered the shrimp and was crestfallen to receive a plate of those little frozen deep fried things, which are fine when you're inland, but we were ON WATER and WITHIN SIGHT of shrimp boats. Disappointing. The mashed potatoes were blah and tasteless. My companion inquired about dessert as we knew the restaurant connected to the delightful Kaminsky's next door. Upon being told in an inattentive and uncaring manner that we could walk over there to see the day's choices and she would/could not tell us what was available, we asked for our check and I left my beer behind. This is what happens when you don't find an acceptable restaurant in advance and/or are so tired from touristing all day that you take the easy way out and have a late dinner at the restaurant around the corner from your hotel. Don't do it, friends. Or, be smart and have another dinner at the nearby wine bar that you know is worth your vacation dollars.

Food is definitely better than what the uninspired interior and menu variety would suggest. Appetizer: Dip trio with pico de gallo, queso, and pimento cheese with tortilla chips. All were enjoyable. The pico and queso could have been much more flavorful. The pico didn't feel entirely fresh. The caesar salad was pretty horrible. The dressing was too creamy and bland. The lettuce was soggy from being saturated with dressing. Entree: Fish and chips Surprisingly tasty. It's not the prettiest dish though; it came out as two logs rolling around with some fries. The batter was flavorful and crisp, and the cod was perfectly tender. The fries were even addicting. Service: Excellent The waitress was friendly and attentive.

As one other reviewer put it, you come to a steakhouse for steak and TBONZ did not disappoint. Melt in your mouth filet was dellicious as was the southern style cole slaw. Aislinn was a very attentive and courteous server. Definitely would recommend TBONZ. And topped it off eith the decadent chocolate chip cookie and ice cream.

Horrible steaks, extra salted Brussels Sprouts, ignorant management with great hamburgers. Ordered steak, tbone, very tough and gristle, Brussels Sprouts were roasted. I was excited to eat these until I learned the primary spice was salt. All I could taste was salt. Friends ordered prime rib, horrible and tough as shoe leather.

I ate lunch here while I was on vacation in Charleston. I loved my seat right by the front window. It was nice to get the fresh air. I ordered the Crab Bisque and a Wedge Salad. The Crab Bisque came first and it was lukewarm. The flavor was OK, but it needed to be hotter for sure. I didn't finish it all because after a few bites it was really too cold to enjoy. The Wedge Salad was OK. I've had better blue cheese dressing and the bacon crumbles on the salad were a little burnt. You have to ask for bread if you want rolls. The rolls were OK but, again, nothing special and they were not served hot (or even warm). Our waitress and service were fine, but the food left a lot to be desired. I'm not sure how you can mess up a bowl of soup, a salad, and some bread, but they managed to mess it up.

We visited tbonz for the first time during restaurant week and were very happy with the experience. We were seated immediately, and our server was prompt. They kept our drinks full and the food wasn't bad. It wasn't life altering but in this part of town most restaurants are nothing more than hyped up tourists traps. This one wasn't awful.

Amazing! Everything was great: the food, the environment, the management. Great food great service!!! Highly recommend! Great for a family meal!

In my opinion this place simply cares about the money and not the quality of the food. It's located in a place very close to where a ton of tourist have to go by, which is fine but they could, and should, care whether or not the food actually taste good. Ours did not. Don't misunderstand, I was not expecting Ruth's Chris, but the meat in my sandwich was unbelievably tough. This review is not for the management but for the people that might read this looking for a decent place to grab a bite to eat. This is not it.

    (1)
  • Brad H.

The food was very average. Fish and chips were very plain and boring. The steak was a little undercooked. Fried pickles are very good in contrary. However you must get the dessert from the place they panther with beside them. The chocolate cake is TO DIE FOR.

Everything was excellent. Had grilled chicken breasts and shrimp. The flash fried brussel sprouts are incredible. Very attentive service. Good selection of draft beer. What's not to like?

This place was a solid little steak house in downtown Charleston. We ate here for a bachelor party, and we made a full visit! We each had a steak, drinks at the bar, appetizers, and dessert. I had the steak and bacon wrapped shrimp, with macaroni and cheese with pork belly. NOM. The drinks were weak on the first round, but second round at the bar was a little stiffer after talking sports with the bartender. Pretty cool place, would probably visit again.

  • Bryan M.

Good enough our party of 4 went there twice during a 5 day visit. Food highlights - Pecan-crusted chicken. Good but not life-changing. Ribs & chicken - plentiful and enough for 2 to share comfortably. A live Bluegrass band was playing and the wait staff was attentive. Good times.

Right near the French Quarter section, this place gets its fair share of patrons. My brother brought me here to try their red and brown ales...Neither of us like the dry beers in town, but I still can appreciate it's potential for an awesome time during a sports event or private party

Good service, the food came out in a timely fashion. The taste overall was good, one of the best traditional burgers I've had in quite a while, easily recommendable and ok for kids.

  • Molly S.

Kind of like an Applebee's but with worse service, food, and menu options. Came in because it was the only restaurant open when we got into town late. The server was inappropriate, creepy, and slow despite us being one of three tables in the entire place. The food was obviously made hours, if not days, ago. The upside is that it has a bar.

Well done steak place in sea of seafood restaurants. First time visitors, my husband I both ordered filets. Both were delivered to our specifications. And both steaks were tender, flavorful and enjoyable. We also enjoyed drinks, salads, sides and a wonderful dessert from Kaminsky's next door. Would return for a steak craving in the future.

My husband and I both had delicious steaks. He enjoyed the large beer tap menu. I loved Kimenskey's deserts was connected to the restaurant and we could order from them while sitting in T-Bonez!

Hopped in here the night after having a great time at their sister restaurant, Pearlz. While not living up to the standard that the 5-star place did, it was still a quality meal. The same great local beers and more food than you can likely put down. Following the nacho appetizer, we had zero room remaining for our burgers; you may not want to follow in our footsteps (order less). Certainly not a place you must visit when in town, but a very good option nonetheless.

Two words: Terrible service. I went with a group of girlfriends around 10:30pm on a Monday night to get some bar grub and order dessert from Kaminsky's (FYI you can only do that if you actually order food from TBonz). We walk in and are the one of three groups in the entire restaurant. Our waiter was also the bartender, which we didn't realize until we couldn't find him to come back to take our order. Well, he kept forgetting everyone's order. It took way too long for French fries and chicken tenders to get to our table from the kitchen (took maybe half an hr at least). He did not remember my friend's cocktail or pie order at all. And by the time we finally got our checks to pay, he forgot to bring my card and friend's cash back to the table. He had only managed to bring back 5 of the 7 checks back to the table. We had to go to the bar to inform him he forgot which he didn't think he did. It also didn't help that while we were waiting some gross older men sat at the table next to us and were trying to hit on us. The food is your typical bar grub, which is fine. Kaminsky's dessert is tasty but nothing out of this world that you couldn't order at another restaurant. Don't waste your time. You'll be happier somewhere else.

One of the best steaks I've had!! It melted in my mouth! It's as good as an expensive steakhouse steak, if not better! You can't beat the price either. They also had amazing dessert. The service was great and the atmosphere was kid friendly! It's a must in Charleston, if you are looking for a great meal.

  • SomeOne S.

T-Bonz has the feels of a franchise (although it only has two locations), ranking slightly above a typical sports bar. Not much of a character, nothing interesting or inspiring in the menu, and while the overall experience is adequate, it doesn't offer much to write home about. The best part of our dinner was the filet mignon, which is actually good. The rest, however - bourbon steak, a side of: onion & mushroom, Brussels sprout, fried onions - was just ok, hardly memorable. Fairly long selection of tap beer, mostly from local breweries. I had only one beer so I can't judge, but mine was watery. Overall I think that Charleston has much more to offer that I don't find a particular reason to return there. ** 1/2

  • Randall R.

My wife and I have always enjoyed our meals here. The food has been consistently good at a reasonable price. If you are looking for a nice meal and a stroll along Market Street this is the place to go. And do not forget some of the best desert in town!

    (4)
  • Sue B.

Stopped in for late night wings and dessert. Quick tip, if there is no seating at the dessert place next store - just go in here and order from the menu as they get their desserts from that same restaurant.

  • Robert M.

This is a bar only review. What a nice spot to dive into following a stroll around the vacant market at night. Bar staff was quick with suggestions, service and assistance. I had an appetizer of crab dip and it was excellent. The people next to me loaded up on an impressive display f desserts from the next door bakery. Is it a huge bar? No. But it does well to provide a watering hole. It is worth noting that there seemed to be quite a few people at the bar in the service industry both drinking and ordering food. If they give THIS place their business then it can't be a bad place.

No wait, great service, delicious food! Pretty good prices! Great for lunch or dinner. Came with small group of six and they were very friendly and fast. I would most definitely come back the next time I come to Charleston! High recommend the New York Strip! Oh and that fried pickles too!

    (4)
  • Michael P.

Eh. Possibly the most ill conceived menu item I have ever ordered. Clearly the dishwashers are writing the special list. Rib eye with balsamic reduction and tomato salad on pesto pasta. Terrible, ill conceived pile on a plate. Great server (Sarah?) but food was overpriced and disappointing. Too bad. Should've known by the name, but took a chance. If you liked this place, you probably think Chili's is a culinary experience of magical proportions. Keep trying T-Bonz. Don't let the knuckleheads at the bar drinking cheap beer in sleeveless t shirts discourage you. That happens everywhere in Charleston.

    (2)
  • Genevieve B.

She-Crab soup is amazing. It's open late and it's a large restaurant - which is a plus as everything in the area tends to stop serving food after 10pm.

    (3)
  • Robin C.

We had the best fried pickles and brussel sprouts ever at Tbonz! The service was friendly and outgoing! We would go back in a heartbeat if we are ever in Charleston, SC again!

We were a bit weary walking around Charleston the other night, looking for a reasonable place to sit and have dinner. We sort of stumbled across this place (surprising since it is located behind our hotel). I have to say, this was a great choice for our needs that night. Friendly, prompt service. Got our drinks super fast. I really enjoyed my traditional shrimp and grits and my husband loved his sandwich. Our bill was a bit less than we expected, which was also a nice surprise. It's not a fancy gourmet steakhouse - and that is exactly what we did NOT want that evening. Great dining experience.

    (4)
  • Brent K.

I had the Drunken Ribeye and have to say it is singularly the best steak I have ever had. The staff is very friendly without being annoying and there is plenty of room. Lots of places in Charleston have the tables packed in like salmon. We loved it!

  • Joseph M.

The best part our visit was the pint of Sam's Summer Ale and the dessert from Kaminsky's. The piece of chicken in my sandwich was tough and chewy. The hot dogs my kids had from the children's menu looked old and over-cooked. Their "world famous" jumbo chicken wings were completely average and not 'jumbo'. The worst part were the roaches I saw running across the floor in the men's room. The only way I can sum up the service was 'apathetic'. Will not be going back.

    (2)
  • Sam R.

Service was poor, food was average/slightly above average. I had the NY Strip that was not seasoned very well, but my wife's Soy and Ginger Salmon was very good. The bad part about her plate was that it came with black beans and rice...not something that mixes that well with Asian Salmon. Overall, nothing more than average. Also, the sweet tea is not very sweet...a big disappointment me.

What happen to this place? I use to go to the one in mt p till it closed. This use to be nice but it is looking a little runs down & smelly. I've haven't visit this location in 2 years because I was out of state. The toilet seats need to be replace like over a year ago they looked so gross. They looked like u needed a tetanus shot after u used them. Service was not bad but not great. Food was ok. My kids ordered this fish and chips. My 8 year old said it lack flavor and or seasoning like salt and pepper and the fish was small with like a 1 inch batter on it. You had to peel the crust of batter off to taste some fish. My husband enjoyed his soup. I enjoyed my salad. Water did taste like it came from the bottom of the Ashley river though.

Great food, attentive service and good house made beers and spirits. The fried pickles and fried green tomatoes were awesome! Loved that dessert was available from the Kazminsky bakery next door. Delicious steaks and desserts! Recommended!

This is a great place to stop for lunch or dinner. I've enjoyed each and every time I've been and have nothing bad to say about the food, staff or service. It's one of my favorite spots downtown!

Came for a late dinner tonight. Although I did not like the She Crab soup, my husband's rib and wing combo was awesome. Nice crispy wings with great BBQ sauce. Falling off the bone ribs. The waitress was quick and attentive. The manager removed the charge for the soup because I did not eat it. We will definitely come again only next time I will order the combo.

I give it a 5 instead of 4 because I haven't had a bad experience there. I have been quite a few times now and even though the food isn't quite up to bar with some of Charlestons best it is still very awesome. It's a diverse menu with a little bit for everyone. The staff is friendly and there are always quite a few people in there. Taste test a few spices at the Pepper Palace and then head to T Bonz for a white Russian!

First place I ever had fried green tomatoes, and they were SO delicious! My husband had the shrimp tacos and loved them! Then we shared an order of the jalapeño pretzels...Yummo!! I highly recommend this place!

  • Aurora P.

The #1 thing about this place is it serves food until 2am even on a Monday night. It is a limited menu, but you have enough options to choose from and when there's nothing else open, it's the best you can hope for. They have a good craft beer selection that includes their own brew. Their buffalo wings are nice and crisp without all the excess grease, however their hot, is slightly mild, so don't be afraid to try their hottest sauce. Their crab cakes are equally delicious. Truly no complaints about this place. It was our savior after a ghost tour that finished at 11pm when everything else was closed and we hadn't eaten dinner yet, and compared to every other restaurant we tried in Charleston, it had the best selection of alcohol and highest quality of cooking even with the limited late night menu options.

Awesome! From appetizer to entree ( sadly no room for dessert) food was excellent! We had seafood dip, salmon, and Tbone OMG! And the service was great! Definitely worth coming down a side street for a fantastic meal!

I went here for a work lunch and the food was alright. I had higher expectations but overall the food was good. Everyone at our table had good food and the appetizer we all shared was delicious. However our waitress kept mixing up our orders and we had horrible service.

This place was less then great... Very disappointed in the service and the food. The server was never around and made a mistake that cost us extra money and then wouldn't fix it!! I should've called the manager at this point but was just so frustrated we paid the bill and left.

We stopped here while daytripping thru Charleston and it was ok. Nothing spectacular or note worthy. We had wings and split a sandwich.

Friendly servers, nice atmosphere and awesome burgers. I ordered a special with goat chesse and spinach, it was the best burger I've ever eaten, Everyone in our party was pleased with their meal. I have to say that they really try to elevate standard fare and do it successfully. We'll be back!

Pretty good food, I chose the bourbon marinated ribeye, medium. Came out a little done for my liking but had a very distinct bourbon taste, which is a good thing! Also sampled the Cooper Red beer which was excellent. The only downfall really was the fact that it was a little warm in there, everyone else in our party 4 adults, 3 children, thought the food was good as well.

TBonz has an unexpectedly good bar. With attentive bartenders and a great cocktail list! Food is good and service is pretty fast. I should admit the main reason I go though is for a drink at the bar and dessert from their neighboring Kaminsky's dessert bar-whose desserts can be ordered at TBnz too.

I guess tens years passing since we last ate at T-Bonz things changed. We were disappointed by the place we had loved so much. The service was great, the food not so much.

Holy cow Batman that steak was good! It felt so good to finally get out of North Carolina and sink my tongue into some slightly still mooing beef!! Nothing overcooked. Why bother eating a deliciously cooked tender steak if it is cooked like a hockey puck? T-Bonz will be sure to satisfy everything good and sacred about the time honored tradition of a little gastronomy. I had the bourbon steak. Fantastic. A little fries, bread etc to sop up the delicious juices left on my plate. Make this one of your first stops when you get to Charleston.

Went here for lunch and had a great meal with good service. You can't beat the location and the inside is gorgeous. The menu is somewhat limited at lunch, but what they do offer was good enough for me which was mainly sandwiches.

Amazing burgers! Had the best balsamic reduction on it! Ladies, can anyone tell me the name of the hand salt scrub in the bathroom? I dont live in the area anymore and want to buy some for my homesickness!

I always make a point of stopping here when I visit Charleston. The beer alone is great; Raspberry Wheat is my favorite. I particularly recommend the dry rub sirloin, but the fresh fish is awesome too!

I thought the food here was fantastic! My husband and I flew in to Charleston in the evening and our friends took us to T-Bonz for dinner. I don't know if we were just tired of airport food or what, but we both were amazed at how delicious the food was. Our party ordered the crab dip and balsamic/blue cheese chips as appetizers. Both were delicious - especially the chips. My husband got a burger and I opted for a salad. The salad was great - the chicken tasted delicious. My husband's burger, on the other hand, was amazing! I had to go back for 2-3 more bites from his plate. The drinks (beer) were decently priced.

Went here last year and was excited to return due to good food and great service. My NY strip was good, but my wife's ribeye had a lot of grissle, and the server was rude. Our waitress was a no show for a long while, and when my wife showed her the steak she asked why we didn't say anything so she could redo it. Well, she was MIA, so that was impossible. Should also mention it was Sunday evening and only a few people in the restaurant. My wife did ask for a % off as she was able to eat a few bites. They actually removed the whole meal, which was above and beyond and appreciated. The manager came over, apologized, and referenced the fact we said everything was good when he was there earlier. Well, we just received our appetizer, and everything was good at that time; curious comment. Bad steaks are going to happen occasionally, and they did take care of it, but being rude is unacceptable. Both, our server and the manager, seemed to be questioning our actions instead of just addressing the issue. Had they just made it right without the comments, would have been happy with the action they took and chalked it up to one of those things, but we will probably look for other options next time.

It was the night before the Cooper River Bridge Run and we were looking for somewhere quick to grab a bite before hitting the sack to catch some zzzzzz's before our 5:20a.m. wake-up call. Being right around the corner from our hotel, we decided to give T-Bonz a try as it was only a 30 minute wait and everywhere else was completely slammed. The bar area was busy and loud. We weren't partaking in beverages, which may be why it was a bit off-putting. On another night, it would probably have been a very fun crowd. Service was pretty good and the menu had a ton of options. Wanting a light meal, we both ordered the Mahi Mahi, which was served with mango salsa and cooked in quite a bit of oil, as were our green beans. The baked potatoes were delicious. Ultimately, the meal was fine and the service good, but this is more of a party atmosphere on Market Street.

Visited T-Bonz this week with someone who suggested we try them for steaks. We were VERY happy. Best steak I've had in long time. The service was a big plus also. The decor was very unique and a must see with lots of unusual paintings. Oh and did I mention the great service !

Had the fish and chips, the fish was light and flaky. The kids ordered off the kids menu and got solid portions. My wife had the chicken salad in delicious tortilla bowl. Four stars...

The family was on a quick day trip through Charleston and stopped here on a recommendation. We had been eating a lot of seafood and the group was divided on who wanted more seafood and who wanted a big burger. T-Bonz satisfied everyone's tastes and had great atmosphere with some needed relief from the heat.

While I avoid chains in general and places with deliberate misspellings in their names (the Z here in T-Bonz is neither cute nor funny), we went because we wanted a big old steak and the better place, the Oak Steak House, is significantly more expensive. Two 14 oz. rib-eyes showed up at the table in lickety split time, one medium well and the other medium rare, and they were both delicious. They were simply accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes on one plate and mashed sweet potato on the other. The local wheat brew was tasty and the service was polite, attentive and professional. The meal was not, in my view, too expensive for what it was. Most of Charleston is a lot more expensive and not as simply prepared, so it seemed to us a pretty good deal at 54.00 including tip and tax. If you want to eat a piece of meat and have a beer, TBonz is uncomplicated and fine.

Got the shrimp & chicken with potatoes and brocolli. Was sooo good! Only 3 shrimp, good sized, but 2 large chicken breasts with the chipolte sauce. Even got 2 of their blueberry brewed beer.

I came here with friends who have been coming here for years.. we ordered two Ribeye steaks, one medium-rare and one medium-well. To start, although my friends Ribeye was medium-rare as ordered, it was primarily gristle and not a lot of actual, edible meat. My Ribeye was Also medium-rare, despite ordering it to be medium-well. We made our server aware of these deficiencies, however she made no attempt to remedy the problem. Upon reporting these issues to someone who appeared to be manager or senior staff person, our complaints again fell on deaf ears. So, needless to say, our $145 meal was almost a complete disappointment. Personally, having been a food server myself, I truly hate to complain... but in this instance, and considering the price-tag on the meal itself, I felt it absolutely necessary to do so. We will not be returning to T-Bonz Gill and Grill ever again.

It's good, but basically your typical brewery. The food is good, but not great; there are definitely better options in the area. It's the type of restaurant that's good for big groups that are looking for a very casual setting. The service is friendly and quick, and it doesn't seem to get too crowded. The one thing I'd definitely suggest getting is the blue cheese chips, they were the best part of the meal by far. The food was average, nothing special but not terrible either. If you are visiting the area I'd suggest trying the more local cuisine first.

I wish I could give a better review, but I can't. To be fair, the burgers the kids ordered were good, very good in fact, but we ordered a bourbon steak, and it simply was a disappointment. Bland and tough. The service was fast and friendly, and the ambiance was good, but I was terribly disappointed in the steak. Stick with the burgers, and you will likely be happy.

We walked by the place but saw people eating through the open window, checked a few other places and returned. The burgers we ordered came cooked as ordered and were great as were the side dishes. The service was excellent. The only down draw was the noise level, it was packed, the music was loud and the brick walls was echoing the sounds.

Pretty rough experience with these guys. I take weekend trips with my wife to Charleston several times a year. We love the Market Street restaurants and decided since we love Kaminsky's so much that we would try Tbonz (they are linked, Kaminsky's is a dessert restaurant). We were seated and received no service until we stopped a waitress after waiting for about 10 minutes. The waitress serving us was a trainee and knew next to nothing about drinks, menu items, or specials. I understand this, but I mean, she literally read me the menu or the drink list when I asked questions like "Can you tell me about the Sunday special?" or "What style of beer is the Festina Peche by Dogfish?". I think she was supposed to be serving with another server, but evidently she was put out on her own for some reason. I finally walked up to the bar to ask about drinks since she knew nothing and their list only had 10 drinks on it. I knew there had to be more, and I was right. Putting that behind us, we ordered. I asked for my steak medium. Guess what happened? It came out dry and well done. At this point another waitress started poking around. She was the one who was supposed to be teaming up with our new girl, but had been neglecting to do so. We got seriously about 6 or 7 apologies for the steak and they took it away to bring me another. I ate my potato, salad, and finished my drink. My wife finished her meal, and about 5 minutes later a new steak came. I only ate about half because it was so late and I had lost interest because I was hungry and ate other things. I was charged the full price for everything, despite their numerous errors. I spoke to the manager before leaving, he looked so scared that I thought he might pass out (I'm 5' 11", 24 years old, and was wearing casual clothes). He didn't want to offer any solution. I paid and left a modest tip (don't crucify the new girl I guess, right?). I won't be going back and I really recommend that nobody else go either. Still visit Kaminsky's, it's an amazing dessert restaurant. Just take a jog over to Oak Steakhouse or Grill 225.

1st place I ever had shrimp and grits, the introduction to a southern classic. Always we'd go here after work for a few beers, shots or a cocktail. Great bar atmosphere. Good quality food all the time. Good memories here.

having searched for burgers in our Holy city, few can remain as consistently good as the pepercorn burger here at tbonz. There prime rib is delicious and if you get the market sauce (jalepeno and cheese)....it adds so much. the cobb salad is pretty good too! the beers aren't bad here either, having tasted the market street wheat and cooper river red

Just okay. I've been here a couple of times now. Steaks and prime rib were okay, not spectacular. Beer was cold. Staff was friendly. Minus two stars because I got asked for my ID.

We didn't know where to eat, so we were just walking around Market street looking for something decent. We randomly came here just because the menu looked pretty good and the vibe was chilled. I ordered the crab cake for my dinner entree. It wasn't too shabby but I think I used ketchup because it was a little dry. The sweet potatoe side was mediocre. One of my co workers ordered their beer and he said it was really good but I didn't get to experience it myself. This place was okay, I would come back but it wouldn't be in my top choices or priorities.

Hands down one of the best octoberfest beers ive ever had. The seasonal beer here was amazing. My filet came out a perfect medium. My wife really enjoyed her bloody mary and meal as well. Will be back as soon as i get a chance to come back down.

Two stars, only because I realize this is one of the few places that I would never take friends visiting from out of town. With that being said... T-Bonz is a local standby. The problem, it's not consistent. What you eat there on Monday will taste completely different than on Tuesday. The ingredients aren't fresh, etc. It's like Applebee's, but in a great, historic location.... and twice the price. While I wouldn't eat the food, I have to say that a beer here isn't a bad idea. In fact, if they just quit serving food and it was one big bar, I'd probably like it a lot more. They have some great microbrews that are enjoyable and local. The bar staff is always super friendly and knowledgeable. Go there if you must, but if you're eating, walk a couple of blocks and find something worth the $$.

Late night dining in Charleston seems to be entirely non-existent. If you are hungry after 11pm you're almost dead out of luck. T-Bonz does have a rather limited late night menu though. We went in and were told they were out of the eggrolls and potstickers. Of course that's what we wanted to order, but whatever. Instead I ordered a burger, and considering my failure the previous night at the Buccaneer, it was a little risky. T-Bonz actually got it cooked right, it just wasn't particularly flavorful. It was however only $5, so no complaints there. Kinda noisy, and our server had a very limited short term memory, but we left fed and that was the main point.

We stopped in TBonz for lunch while visiting the market. Compared to outside the restaurant was nice & air conditioned. We were sat in a comfortable booth to accomodate all 5 of us. For lunch I had the sushi grade tuna sandwich with wasabi mayonaise & it was delicious! I also tried the seasonal micro-brew, which was also good. I would definitely go back the next time I visit Charleston.

I was really impressed with this place. As a non-seafood-eating gal, my options in the Holy City are a bit limited, so when my boyfriend and I were seeking out lunch, we came across this place - lucky us! The atmosphere was visually interesting (they had classic paintings redone with cows as the subjects on one wall) and at lunch time on New Year's Day, the din of the packed place was a background buzz, not an overwhelming din. We both had burgers, and his med-rare and my med were spot on, and the meat was juicy, delicious, and free of gristle. Our server, Regan, was polite and efficient, and our drinks never got a chance to get empty. They have a bunch of cool free toppings - fried or grilled onions for instance - and a few $1 "premium" ones, like cheddar cheese or their own chili. One of the free toppings was fried pickles, and my curiosity overcame my apprehension...they are delicious, but I recommend you get them on the side if it's your first time, as I did....they're a bit exotic for a yankee palate like mine ;) The biggggg 8oz burgers come on a nicely toasted brioche bun, and they serve romaine and sliced plum tomatoes (a touch I appreciated - plums beat the pants off the tasteless hothouse tomatoes) and all the usual ketchup, mustard, et al is there for the asking. The fries were good, not limp and generous portion, but nothing out of the ordinary. The menu did say they were supposed to be seasoned, though, I believe, and mine were definitely plain. All in all, it was $21-ish for the two of us to get a late lunch and cokes, and the burgers kept us so full we ended up skipping dinner. I'm sad that I'm moving to NC shortly, because I'd be back at this place all the time!

It is a consistantly delicious ribs with excellent service. Our waitress Erica was honest about what T-Bonz did well. We had prompt service, great drinks all for a fair price.

Food and atmosphere were great as usual! The wife is very accustomed to TBonz and their excellent service. However, this time around the service was subpar. Waited over five minutes to see our waitress. Took another 10 minutes to get a drink. Waitress dropped the drinks and left without washing if I wanted a glass with the beer (which is standard for me). Wife waited over 10 mins for a drink refill. I finally got up and took her glass to the bar for a refill. The waitress saw me do it, stopped me at the bar and refilled the glass. We normally order Kaminskys desserts at TBonz. The waitress told us to go to Kaminskys and look at the case. We decided to visit Kaminskys and order dessert from their staff. It was a good call. As usual, TBonz food was great but unlike the prior visits, the service left much to be desired.

I visited TBonz during a June 2010 vacation to the Charleston area. The menu contains both steak and seafood and I greatly enjoyed the local favorite She Crab Soup. The crab cakes were part of their seafood specialty, and they did not disappoint. With so many great restaurants in Charleston, I'm not sure I would go back there. The wife wanted a break from the endless seafood restaurants!

My co-worker and I were in Charleston for business and wandered into "T Bonz" after work on a whim. We were greeted and sat immediately and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. She recommended the T Bonz "Nitro IPA" which was quite tasty. The beer came out quickly, we ordered, and were immediately brought some delicious bread and butter to munch on while we waited. The food came out ridiculously fast and was titillating. My co-worker got a sirloin which was cooked "rare" to perfection. Just barely warm in the middle. I ordered a the "Pecan-Encrusted, Butterflied Chicken Breast over Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. It was phenomenal. And the best part, the price. A pitcher of beer, the free bread app, and two fantastic entrees were all under $20 per person. Overall, one of my top 5 dining experiences. Nice ambiance, terrific service and excellent food. If you're looking for a restaurant in Charleston that has it all (including their own Microbrewed beer) you've got to hit up T Bonz. I will definitely be going back.

While alot of people like T-Bonz I should tell you that I know some cooks from there and they won't eat the food. I've been told that the meat is left out at room temperature for many hours and is known to cause stomach problems. Just thought you might want to know.

A group of us hit this place to sample the microbrews -- great funky atmosphere, friendly barmaids and yeah, the beer sampler paddler was a great way for a party of 5 to sample the local brew! Check it out next time you are downtown...
