I had a few minutes to kill before the parking garage opened at the Main Library on Calhoun Street this morning so I pulled into the FREE lot at the corner of East Bay and Calhoun Streets to check out the Starbucks location in this small strip. I was amazed to see that there were vacant spots and that many spots are reserved for Starbucks customers. To the right of the entrance are maybe six tables with chairs. At least three had large umbrellas. I was surprised that the inside space was so well configured. The counter is right up front near the entrance and the friendly crew had my order ready in a flash. I didn't have time to linger but I couldn't help but notice the bar and benches with plug in access along the storefront window as well as many tables and chairs to chat, enjoy a snack and/or beverage, or just chill.

As far as downtown locations of Starbucks goes, this is one of the better ones. One of the best things about it is the parking. It's not great at busy times, but it at least exists. There's outdoor seating when the weather's right and a decent amount of seating inside. The tables are kind of tiny so working with two people both using laptops can get cramped. If you're working on your own sit at the bar by the window and they have power connections up there too. With other places offering shoddy WiFi or some doing away with it all together, Starbucks is a place you can count on to get some work done when you need to.

Friendly Starbucks service! Good location, with plenty of parking. Inside is sufficient for enjoying your coffee and snack. But the service is what matters! Super friendly at the register, sorry I missed her name. Then Scott was working the coffee end making drinks as fast as possible but was also very friendly and engaging with the customers. Go here for good service!

Excellent baristas, delicious coffee, great food, and plenty of space. Also, this location has tons of parking.

I have been to this Starbucks before. The typical arrangement. Lots of tables and seating space. I particularly enjoy the bar/benches with easy plugin access along the storefront window. Plenty of outdoor seating as well. Not typically as busy as other downtown locations. I was slightly bummed that as the barista slid my pumpkin spice across the counter, some of it spilled out. 1) I hate messes 2) I was sad to see that tasty goodness go to waste. I still prefer local coffee joints, but this does the trick and is close to my parking garage!

I love this Starbucks location. It is close to the office and has the friendliest staff in town. I usually walk down here every morning either before work or during the workday to grab a hot cup of caffeinated goodness to wake up and some days warm up. Other than the great staff and location; this is pretty much your typical Starbucks offering coffee, snacks, and those other fancy drinks we've come to know Starbucks for.

Finding where to park at this location at the corner of E. Bay and Calhoun can be a bit tricky as you actually enter the parking lot from Alexander Street which run parallel to E. Bay. Once you figure out where to parking, parking becomes slightly difficult as there is limited parking. Most of the parking spaces are numbered and then identified by business which means if you are visiting Starbucks you're not suppose to park in another businesses spots which winds up leading to a bit of chaos. If I understood the parking arrangement most of the spots for Starbucks are behind the building on the Alexander Street side. This can be especially frustrating during their peek times. Moving beyond the parking issue, the service is friendly and fast which comes in handy when one is on the way to work. The baristas will make suggestions to improve your order if they see a way to best meet your needs. In fact, today I was in the mood for a Java Chip frappuccino but I wanted to limited my calories the best I could and the barista kindly suggested the "light" Java Chip Frappuccino which used a lower sugar syrup than the normal mix. Even minus the whipped cream it was tasty and hit the spot on a hot, humid summer day in the south. If you're looking for a place to sit and read or visit with friends this might not be the place for you. It is far from quiet and the seating is very limited. Not of fan of Starbucks food and this was not taken into consideration in this review.

This has become my daily habit and the staff have become my friends. Very friendly staff. Parking is often difficult but if you have the luxury of walking, it is a great Starbucks.

Typical Starbucks, a couple comfy chairs inside and an outdoor seating area. For a good local option, try Kennedy's right across the street.
