I just loved my strawberry field sandwich. The ingredients were an amazing combination of goodness. It was messy goodness!!!!

The shop is carefully decorated, with lovely fish tank and carefully placed napkins( not the brown one most places use) I had the green eye monster which is amazing: the moist soft baked egg on soft bun with lots of chewy cheese and homemade just a little bit spicy spread. Out of my expectation so, good! Was going to try the pastry but didn't see much on display, hope they can fix some lights on them so they could look more appealing

This is small, adorable little sandwich shop. Delicious healthy type food, very friendly staff who helped me and my family. I got the smoked apple sandwich and my sister got the turkey avocado - yummy! Seats about 18 people in total, so not great for a huge group unless you want to bring your food and eat outside in scenic Charleston. Great for one or two friends. Nicely decorated and clean. Apparently there's free wifi too. Definitely a recommend.

Great place! Food was good. Paul was amazing, lol definitely a great guy! They bake all of there breads fresh, and the red pepper spread was a nice touch to a breakfast sandwich; a little spice to get the morning started never hurt anyone! sessionswithtomandtez.tu…

Conveniently located just off of busy King Street in Charleston's Design District, this bakery and sandwich shop is a great place to have breakfast or lunch. While it's a very small restaurant, it feels homey, casual, and comfortable. It's actually located in an old home that was built in 1880. As their name of course implies, they offer an assortment of delicious desserts as well including their signature Cranberry Pear Lattice Pie. I really like the Cubano Sandwich (on Cuban bread). They also offer some very creative takes on sandwiches (such as their Turkey Mango Sandwich with mango chutney) which are worth a try for those wanting a break from the ordinary. I definitely hope you'll check them out sometime.

Love love love the sandwiches here. I had the spicy peach turkey most recently and wow. Turkey, Brie, peach chutney, spicy mayo, sprouts, on some of the best bread I've had in a long time. I swear this sandwich must have weighed 2 lbs. It was absolutely delicious but so has everything else I've ever eaten here for breakfast or lunch. The servers are always super friendly too, which brightens even the most crummy work day I may be having.

The spicey peach turkey sandwich is amazing! Cute off the beaten track. Great place for a good, economical lunch

Went here for lunch and I wish I could rave but compared to so many other places in Charleston it just fell short of the 4-5 star mark. I went with a coworker and we each got a sandwich and a dessert. While everything was fine, it didn't have the stand-out quality that makes this place competitive with comparable places. I don't think anyone would complain about things here, but for anyone who has sampled a wider variety of Charleston's culinary options, I think it would fall short. There was nothing with flare or creativity, and my coworker got their famous Ham and Blueberry sandwich but found it underwhelming. Maybe it was because we had heard all about this famous sandwich that we were set up for disappointment, but we both agreed we had been far more impressed with sandwiches at the Butcher and Bee, or Persimmons (just for comparisons sake). Perfectly fine for a quick lunch or a snack, but nothing was WOW for me. I just don't get the hype, especially in terms of the pastries. Also, no pie to be found (at least on the day we went). Sounds silly but if you use the acronym P.I.E... shouldn't there be some pie?

We used P.I.E. Bake Shoppe for our side round cakes for our wedding, which were very reasonably priced. I wanted to give my guests options of flavors, so this worked out very well. Paige was great to work with from the start of the e-mails to the pick up of the four cakes. On the day of the wedding, we came by and picked up the 4 cakes. The flavors were Red Velvet, Chocolate with Peanut Butter Icing, Vanilla Raspberry, and Vanilla with Chocolate Icing. As it was a pretty warm day, we immediately went home after picking up the cakes and kept them stored at my parents house until taking them to Magnolia Plantation for the wedding - which we kept stored until after the ceremony. All of the cakes survived except for the Chocolate Peanut Butter, which melted a bit. I don't think anything more could have been done in the Charleston heat in May - can't imagine July! As far as the cakes, I cannot tell you about any of the flavors as Kevin or myself did not get to try any of them, however, there was nothing left of these 4 cakes, only a little bit of the tiered cake (which came from another baker). I did hear from some guests that the red velvet was awesome - which is one of my favorite flavors. While P.I.E. might not be the most well known or talked about bakery in town, I was glad to do my research and glad I found this bakery. I would use P.I.E. again for any of my bakery needs. Thanks Paige!

My girlfriend and I went here on the last day of our vacation and we both agreed this was the best breakfast we had had all week! I ordered the green monster, which in my opinion is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. The combo of avocado, spinach, bacon and sriracha was perfectly executed with none of the flavors drowned the other out and the bread the sandwich was placed on was amazing. She had the pesto mozzarella stuffed croissant which was equally as good. I would definitely recommend stopping by here.

I've been staying at a house on Warren, so I decided I should stop in and give this place a try. The exterior of the building draws you in with its southern charm. Flower boxes always seem to make everything more inviting. When you walk in, the smell of fresh baked bread lets you know that you are in for a treat! I decided to try the turkey avocado sandwich with a glass of naturally sweetened chai ice tea. Both were delicious. I'm kicking myself for not asking where I could buy some of the tea bags. The focaccia bread was the best I have ever had. My only disappointment is that I didn't opt for a dessert. I'm sure it would have also been delightful. I will definitely be returning to P.I.E before I leave Charleston.

Pie is the place to go for lunch. Their food is delicious for vegetarians and meat eaters, and it's all freshly prepared in a great atmosphere. Very affordable and nice staff

I used to work right around the corner from this great little dining facility, & I severely miss not being near it :/ EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I meandered through the door, I was always greeted with a warm smile, face, & voice. All of the associates on the small staff are sweet & welcoming no matter how swamped they are. I am not joking when I say I was never disappointed with the grub - I brought friends, family, co-workers/bosses/ & out-of-towners there, & everyone raved about their slightly off-the-wall sandwiches. In the past, I have tried the: ham-turkey brie turkey avocado grilled cheese turkey artichoke blueberry ham (named the 2013 best deli sandwich in America by Restaurant Hospitality) and I can't wait to finish off the menu :D Though I tried to resist, I could never defy the delicious desserts they had in their glass cases, & boy are they worth it. I'm telling you, if you are ANY WHERE around this place & you are the least bit hungry, go. GO TO IT. Everything is made in-house & you can see them making your food, or you can slide into the next room & be relaxed by the soothing saltwater fish tank that is filled with "Finding Nemo" fish (heeheehee). Seriously though, try 'em out. They are awesome, truly, truly amazing.

Great lunch choice! Sandwiches were excellent and generously sized, and their hot drinks were good. Service was quick and the guy behind the counter was extremely helpful and pleasant. Very small, but worth a stop.

I had the pleasure of trying their food yesterday with my fiancee. It was ridiculously good at a fair price. I had the Turkey Avocado sandwich and let me tell you, it was so beautifully put together that I thought it was fake, on top of that the avocado was fresh and I got so much of it on both of the sandwiches I ordered (I ordered one for dinner that night too). I definitely appreciated the experience and the great customer service overall that went with my yummy food. I will definitely be back again.

The blueberry ham sandwich brought them a lot of attention so sometimes a little wait. Avoid the wait like I did. Order ahead at 843-720-shop. It was awesome. They had and article recently that this sandwich was the best deli sandwich in the country. "Their Ham & Blueberry Sandwich isn't your typical deli sandwich, and that's a good thing. Owner Paige Young layers ham, blueberry chutney, wasabi mustard, fig goat cheese, red onion, and baby spinach on herbed focaccia bread for a savory & sweet delight." That is what was said by Restaurant Hospitality magazine so we made a special trip just for it. I probably disagree with it winning BEST Deli sandwich as I like lots of meat on mine but the flavors were certainly good. Wish there was a little more goat cheese on it(no such thing as too much). Very small place in a quaint area of downtown with a few tables outside in the shade. It was delightful and we were able to eat there with our dog Skipper. It seemed like it might be dry due to the massive amount of focaccia bread but the blueberry chutney seemed to keep it moist for you. Really think this is a great value as well. Sandwich and a side(and some neat sides) $6.50. And my side was olive white bean hummus! A real tasty addition. So not the best DELI sandwich but a real good sandwich and I will be back! Add a bigger pile of ham and a little bit more goat cheese and it is an easy 5 Star choice but even without it made a pretty easy 4!

This place had great food, feat customer service, and is conveniently located downtown. I'd been meaning to try this place for awhile and I'm so glad I stopped in today!

Speed in here for a quick breakfast. I had one of the breakfast sandwiches and my girlfriend had a blueberry muffin. The food was delicious, cheap, and served quickly. The coffee was just alright. I think we'll head back while we still have some days left in Charleston.

The owner is also the chef and also the front counter person. She is AMAZING! They have home made gluten free bread, vegetarian and vegan friendly options, which is sometimes hard to find in charleston when visiting a deli! As far as I know, everything here is made in house and it's all delicious! I've had the curried chicken salad sandwich, a Caprese (mozz, tom, basil, pesto) sandwich, as well as their Green Olive Hummus and Pita, YUM!! If you're looking for a great breakfast or lunch spot near campus or right off King St., this is the place for you! I'm surprised more people don't know about it. They have indoor/outdoor seating, a big fish tank for the kids to look at, smoothies, pastries, etc. They have it all! I like to stop here and get take out on my way to Columbia, it's quick, easy, delicious and HEALTHY! Thank you Paige!

This adorable cafe/bakery is local and in the perfect location. My favorite is the turkey mango sandwich! Perfect place if you like sweet sandwiches. The owner is always there and makes most of the food, and there is always a good selection of sweets from pie to ice cream sundaes. I highly recommend stopping by if you've never been, it's a treat!

They offer some incredible baked goods, all freshly made. But they have freshly scooped ice-cream, a good cup of coffee, and some amazing sandwiches too! The ladies that work (and I'm guessing own?) might be the sweetest and nicest people on the planet. Every time I go in I'm just treated like I'm they are their only customer and now there is a place to sit and enjoy lunch! The shop is incredibly well done and very unique. They have some amazing sandwiches and baked goods, but not the biggest selection. Though its all fresh, so I'd take that trade off anytime. Not incredibly well known, but if you're walking around King Street and want to find something unique and personal (on the go), you'll have no complaints!
