I decided I was going to eat at a restaurant I have not patronized before. It looked interesting so I walked in. It is a family owned restaurant (I prefer to eat at such locations if service, quality, and portions are decent). It is actually run by a family of Greek descent- go figure. The decor is that of a family owned establishment. No frills, but comfortable. I wasn't that hungry so I ordered their appetizer sampler. Wrongo- it was HUGE! It had gyro meat, the flakey spinach pastry, stuffed olive leaves, two slabs of thick cut feta cheese, olives, peppers, and salad, with pita bread. The flavor was terrific! I am not a huge grape leaf fan - so those were okay. The spinach pastry was above fantastic! I visited on a Thursday during the off season. Downtown was not busy and Old Town is not in the touristy area - so they were not busy. The service was prompt. The waitress was friendly. The prices were average for Charleston. I will definitely visit again.

FINALLY - I've been on a huge search from someone in Charleston to cook a burger medium rare - I've tried several of the biggest names in Charleston and although good, they wouldn't cook it medium rare but Olde Towne Grill did. NICE JOB!!! The bacon on the burger was probably the best bacon I've ever had, freshly grilled, not crunchy like old bacon that's been over cooked and sitting around. Unfortunately, the meat itself could have been slightly higher grade. I LOVE fatty, juicy burgers, but the meat was a bit stringy. The fries were very average. The ambiance was bleh. If I was in the area and someone wanted to go, I'd go again. Definitely a decent meal, but not something I'd go out of my way for.

We had a party of 8, they sat us in the very back. It was uncomfortably hot and humid in the back, after bringing out drinks we all quickly downed them. Fast forward at least 20-30 minutes, we are still waiting for refills. Literally didn't see our waitress for probably 30 minutes. I had to go up front, stand at the bar, and request another waitress/hostess to please locate our waitress and let her know we would like refills (the place is tiny so her absence was odd). The food was all around good, Greek Salad, soft shell crab poor boy, burger, etc. Everyone liked what they got but the service was inexcusable and unfortunately gratuity was already added at 18%

Corned Beef & Cabbage Rolls: Corned beef, shredded cabbage, diced potatoes, mozzarella and provolone cheese in a fried wonton - the house made remoulade sauce takes it over the top This is a delicious app making you want more - I could make a meal of these Irish Car Bomb Cheesecake: Guinness brownie topped with bailey's cheesecake and fresh infused jameson cream This dessert melted in our mouths - You could taste the hint of Baileys - the hint of jameson - we wanted more more more We will definitely order the Corned Beef & Cabbage Rolls and the Car Bomb Cheesecake again! The Gaelic Chicken: seasoned chicken breasts on a bed of mashed potatoes drizzled with rosemary infused Irish whiskey sauce - was very good - not something we would order again just because we are not gravy people but it was good It had an Interesting smoky flavor which we were not sure if we liked. Restaurant is dark, so hard to get good picture. Live band playing old songs. Pleasant atmosphere Great service " Read less

Old Towne grill and seafood. Imagine my surprise that it's a Greek restaurant. We were walking on king and saw oldest family owned restaurant. I try to patronize family restaurants. Gf and I sit down. She orders crab cake sandwich. The worst with no crab. I order the chicken and gyro combination. The chicken was dry and the gyro was tasteless and the tzasiki was watery. I only gave them 2 stars because the waitress was pretty good. I suggest they fix their food or they will be another independent going out of business.

I recently ate here with a group of girls in town for a bachelorette party. There were 14 of us in all. I have never been treated so incredibly rudely by staff at a restaurant in my life. Because of the size of our group reservations were made 2 months in advance of our trip. When we arrived the young lady at the front of the restaurant acted as if she had no idea we were coming. She seemed extremely annoyed and huffed while attempting to seat us. She took us to a back room that was large and empty with lots of tables. We were then immediately moved back to the front where we were told to try and squeeze around 4 small tables. There were 5 of us still standing, and it was obvious that there was not enough room. She told us to "squeeze in" and tried to sit two of us together at each head of the table. Had we even been able to all fit half of us would've been eating with our plates in our laps. She again huffed loudly, rolled her eyes and wanted to know why we couldn't "just make it work" because it would be "a lot easier" on her if we didn't make her walk so much! Those are seriously the words that came out of her mouth. Then another server approached to know what the problem was. A few more extremely rude statements were shared and we were all moved back to the previous room. Once there she had to slide a table and chairs together, and she was slinging them with such force I had to move out of the way to keep from being hit. We were all pretty much in shock by her behavior. The back room was uncomfortably hot and humid, to the point that we were all drenched in sweat. Our new server informed us the entire restaurant was hot, but she would "check into it". The service continued to be horrendous. We were told she wouldn't be able to put people together on checks b/c it would be too difficult for her. Then when the checks were brought out she sat them all in a stack on the table without an attempt to hand them out, and walked away. And, it never got any better. I've never seen service this bad in my life. Not that it was just poor service, it was actually offensive! The food ranged from ok to extremely overcooked/burnt. Out of everyone there were two of us that sort of liked their food. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, not even my worst enemy. I am frankly still in shock by the entire experience!

The service was pretty good, as was the food. My friend and I had gyros that were very good! It was an easy place to walk into for lunch and get a booth right away.
