During our dinner at Fig We tasted a delicious bread very similar with a bread from Alentejo, Portugal (Europe). So we decided to buy more of this magnific bread. Are you curious about it? It's farm bread. They don't have a slice machine but the staff was very helpful and cut it for us. If you want to try the original recipe you should go to Alentejo, it's a gorgeous area with amazing food.

We only tried their chocolate croissants, but these were the best we have had since Paris. The croissant was crisp on the outside and feathery soft inside...just right.

Great bread, the closest sourdough to what I can get in the bay area. Sandwiches are great too, but on the slim side for what you pay.

Had fresh sandwiches, on freshly baked bread. I would highly recommend eating here. It was awesome!

We stopped here to gear up for our 12 hour drive back home, so we bought a little bit of whatever they had out. Everything was great and the girl working at the counter could not have been sweeter or more helpful. They have an assortment of grab n' go sandwiches, salads and fruit salad (bathing in fresh mint and honey I might add!). We also tried the breakfast biscuits, blueberry/cheese danish, cranberry scone, honey wheat bagel, and bacon jalapeno quiche. EVERYTHING was great, I can't really emphasize what high quality baked goods they offer. Definitely a spot worth checking out. Very well priced too.

Split the salted caramel blondie and had a bite of a deliciousss flourless chocolate torte. The salted caramel was super good & definitely homemade. I would like it better unrefrigerated though.. prices were really low for a bakery! Everything looked fresh- easy to drive by and miss...I would recommend it.

I just stopped in here to get a drink and get out of the heat, but I got much more. The store is clean and the ladies working the counter were very friendly. But, if you happen to drop in, try the cupcakes. The frosting is some of the best I have ever tasted!

Special ordered a carrot cake for my birthday. The owner was so nice, he made it happen with only 24hrs notice. The cake was the BEST carrot cake I've had. Moist, dense, three layers with delicious cream cheese frosting. The nuts were on the outside (bottom half) and were slightly salted. Soo good!!

my last 2 experiences have both been weird. Wanted 3 Croissants at 5pm yesterday. Closed sign was up but did go inside. I am sorry but after ordering the 3 the girl behind the counter told me $9. I just did not take the bag and said sorry, that was just too much for me. Maybe I am way off here. Now they are day old croissants. I think she said she would do $2 a piece as I left but I the first amount was so high I just sort of stepped back in shock and left. Bet they end up in a dumpster now. This place does so well with their delivery and stuff but I have just found that they are not as good for a quick snack as they used to be. The staff have a small language barrier that both this time and the time before when I wanted a Cappuccino was a little uncomfortable. Paid too much for the Cappucino and seemed like she did not know what the cost of it was. Think it ended up just being a big tip. So with the croissant thing last night I just decided to get the heck out of there and buy some bagels on the way home somewhere else since croissants were too hard to find.

Fresh breads, salads, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee and more. My favorite part is the price. Very affordable compared to other gourmet places.

This place smells amazing! Great sandwiches and coffee. I wish I could get better phone service and I never have a great experience with the internet. Also, the bathroom is in a precarious place so I would not suggest going with your computer ready to hangout. Great place to meet a friend and enjoy the amazing aromas.

Good for a dessert or quick lunch. They used to make their sandwiches fresh (I think) and now they're all pre-made in a deli case. Still solid, tasty, fast. Nice variety.

Awesome spot to pick up a pre made sandwich when you are on the run. Also an awesome spot to pick up locally made bread including bagels! I'm not a sweets person but there were a ton of different baked goods like coconut macaroons and blondies. I got the BLT, it was surprisingly delicious. I got it toasted and it looks like it was going to be a little mushy but it was a solid sandwich. Boyfriend got the roast beef. Mine was better hahaha. Had an everything bagel for breakfast and it was delicious. Thanks y'all!

Great bakery in West Ashley! Like someone said, once they are out... they are OUT. So, get their early for best choices. Hubs and I buy their bread at the local farmer's market or in their store and we love it. Great for making French Toast for morning breakfasts or on sandwiches. We've had some lunch sandwiches there too, pretty good. This morning, my run club ran on the Greenway and stopped by NF for breakfast. Most everyone got cute little sandwiches/biscuits with bacon, egg, and cheese on pretzel bread and a coffee. Only $3. You really can't beat that for a breakfast!

Nice coffee spot while walking a round down town. Drinks were good, about the same cost as a star bucks coffee but with a home grown feel. Not much to say about the food as we didn't have a ny, but the service was good. Waitress shared with us that she liked social restaurant for dinner, and low and behold we went and had one of our best meals!

Great sandwiches but with no a/c or very little it is hard to sit in there during hot days. Great pastries too. Friendly service and tables outside to sit at. Also pet friendly. Great little place for lunch

Stopped in for a breakfast sandwich and it was good but not made fresh when I ordered. Taste was good so if your in a hurry then it would be a good stop.

Great little coffee shop and very good sandwiches with great prices, especially for Broad Street! The Italian Panini is my go-to!

Terrible!!! Banana cupcake, stale, cold as was the pb frosting. Did not taste banana at all as it was served so cold. Coffee was good but not hot.

This is just for the batard - crisp outside and pillowy inside just what we needed to go with our haul from goat.sheep.cow and only 1.25$

I have to say, aside from having a DOG in the KITCHEN everything was okay. Now, I'm a dog person. But, I don't even let my own dogs in my own kitchen. Nor do I want someone else to have their dog in a random kitchen making my food. We were eating breakfast and we see a very dirty dog running around alone on the walkway area in front of all the Windermere businesses. A few minutes later, we hear one of the cooks/chefs come up to the front area and talk to a dog. A FILTHY old man comes moseying out of the kitchen eating a sandwich like it's his living room. My partner asks the girl manning the cash register if there is in fact a dog there. She tells us the old filthy man walking around eating is the furniture maker who made some of the pieces at Normandy Farms. And that he 'OFTEN' brings his dogs with him when he comes to visit because he takes his dogs everywhere. That's all fine and well, but I don't want your nasty dog hair in my food, nor do I want your filthy self in the kitchen 'visiting' while food is being prepped for unsuspecting victims. DEFINITE DHEC VIOLATION.

Back in September we stayed at the French Quarter Inn, where they had these delicious pastries for breakfast. In fact, they were so delicious I actually went and interrogated the desk clerk as to where they got them from. He told me it was a local place called Normandy Farms. I googled them and found out they had a downtown location on Meeting St, excellent! Then we went by that location and discovered it empty and abandoned. Sad Jamie. Lucky for us they had another location in West Ashley. So this week we finally made the long journey out there to pick up some of their pastries. We showed up pretty late in the day, close to closing time, so there wasn't a ton of stuff still out. We did manage to pick up a chocolate croissant and a piece of orange, almond poppy-seed bread. My favorite thing from the French Quarter Inn was these almond pastries though and they didn't have any in stock, I didn't even see a label for them in the display case. So we special ordered a few to pick up the next day. The next day when I went to pick up my order the clerk told me "someone ate one of your pastries". That's it. No apology, no remedy for the situation (I had already pre-paid). So I suggested I just exchange it for one of the chocolate pastries in the display case, which he was more than happy to do. Still no apology, no offer of a free cookie to make up for the mistake, nothing. I'm a bit peeved about that, but I won't take off a star this time. I will however, call before leaving my house from now on since it's a 20 mile drive there, so I don't have to drive all the way there just to find out that perhaps my order may have been eaten by the staff? So the almond and chocolate pastries were just as tasty as we remembered them. The bread was also really moist and the orange flavoring was very light, didn't overpower the bread. They had lots of nummy looking sandwiches set out around lunchtime and there were quite a few people inside around noon on a Tuesday. Sandwiches are $6.50, cookies and biscotti are $1.75 and most pastries are $2.75. They have bagels in the morning for $1, cream cheese extra. Breakfast biscuits are $3 each.
