Tonight was the second time I've gone in to try to order food. The first time was at the beginning of March. At that time, my friend and I went in because we heard they have vegan options, and when we got there, we were told that the kitchen was "closed for renovations". We thought we would go in again tonight (april 23rd) and try to order something, and again were told, "the kitchen's closed for a remodel/renovation". I asked the girl behind the bar, when the kitchen would reopen, as this was the second time we had encountered this, and she said "um...some time in June?" SERIOULSY? Your kitchen is closed from March to June?! I don't know how they intend to survive for that amount of time only selling drinks on King St., but I don't think I will be back for a third time to find out.

4.5 stars! It's a vegan dream in the middle of Charleston. The brussel sprouts are a must and are absolutely delicious. I had a smoothie that was creamy and without any sugar added. The decor is super chill and the staff very knowledgeable. If we lived closer by, I would be eating more of my meals there!

I don't normally write reviews but I love everything about this place. Check out the photos I posted. Sandwiches had generous toppings, the fries were unique and very good. I will absolutely be back. Maybe tomorrow. Vegetarians and vegans, your meat eaters will join you here!!

Visiting from Brooklyn and so happy to have found this place! An all vegan establishment in Charleston, SC! The poutine is outstanding and so were the cocktails. The staff and owners were so friendly and positive. This is (vegan) southern hospitality at its finest.

There have been many mixed reviews so far on Motobar, and I'm hoping they work out the kinks. They are still relatively new. I have been here on four occasions, ranging from a quick coffee/pie date to a group brunch. The experiences range from really good to so-so. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating to me. The food has always been really good. The menu is sometimes limited and things can be slow or confusing. I hope for their success and hope things become more consistent. I would highly recommend the pie and the baltimore dog :)

Such nice people. Of course we're a bit confused when we walk in. Do we seat ourselves...? There is no sign. So we sit and immediately someone greets us with menus and let's us know immediately they're running out of certain things, but I'm not going to hold that against them. What I am pissed off about are the two chicks that ordered the last two Lebanese fries. I mean you know they're running out of food. It's a popular dish. There are others who are more than likely going to order this. Motherlovas couldn't muthafreakin share an order???!!! Alright that was my rant. I understand everyone has the right to order what they want, but damn I was willing to split with my dude... Guess everyone is not as selfless as others. Alright... Alright on to the food... So I ordered a smoothie which if you're not a sugar fiend like myself then this is right up your alley. The ingredients were fresh and they had so many other freshly made smoothies and juices they all looked so good. Luckily my hubs enjoyed it so I went with a Ginger Beer from Oz. Took me back to when I enjoyed a cool refreshing Bundaberg Ginger Beer living in Brissy. They're so good. Anywho the highlight of my snack were the Spring rolls. They. Were. So. Good. I imagine they taste like this anywhere that has fresh ingredients b/c those fat suckers were so fresh and the sweet chili sauce was the icing. I felt energized after eating those. My dude had a BLT and it was sooooooo good. I know it's just a BLT but when you use fresh ingredients and do them justice, it just SETS IT OFF! The buttery grilled bread, an abundance of lettuce with the right amount of bacon, tomato, and mayo... Uuuuuh... I should have ordered one. My dude let me have a few bites of his. Love? Selflessness? Clearly I'm still thinking about those two chicks. Lol Go check this place out, preferably during lunch time when they have an abundance of food. Cheers!

A biker themed bar in Charleston on King Street. Now that sounds strange. Strange works. The bathroom is covered in 1970's Playboy covers and articles. Wow, 70's boobs with tan lines and natural smiles. Quite refreshing. Old bikes donning the entrance way when you walk in. Super uber cool. A cocktail list that may be better or just as good as the Gin Joint and Cocktail club. Not to mention cocktails are between $7.00 and $10.00. A steal for upper King Street. The place is tiny. It is deep, but narrow. Yes, I am talking about a bar still. This place is refreshing to say the least. Very non-threatening and comfortable experience.

This is not a place to take your kids! There are very few vegan / vegetarian food establishments in Charleston so this is the one thing this place has going for it. We had a group of 3 adults & 1 child. We ordered some fries, & brussels sprouts for the table. I had their version of a "BLT", & the "PB&J" for my son. Both were epic fails. The bread used for the sandwiches was stale, dry, lifeless. The bacon on the BLT had zero crisp. The jelly on the PB&J was incredible, but was overpowered by the terrible almond butter (it had a weird coconut flavor & texture to it). My hubby actually asked if it had coconut in it!?! It was inedible. I don't remember what the other adults ordered but they were more than underwhelmed. When we left we were all still hungry! I took myself & my son to LaHa afterwards to get something hot & quick to eat. I would have been beyond upset had I paid for the meal at Motobar. If you want good vegan options in Charleston go to Dell'z Deli instead. The reason this place isn't for kids is because the bathroom is covered in nude magazine pics both male & female- though mostly female (looked like Playboy though I could be wrong). I am by no means a prude but nudie magazine photos as wallpaper does not make your place "hip". It reeks of trying too hard.

I stopped in for lunch with a friend. I had been there once before, for a meetup event and really enjoyed the hors hor d'oeuvres, so was very excited to come back for a meal. I had scoped out the lunch menu ahead of time, and was looking forward to trying out some stuff friends had recommended. While it was a bit confusing, because they had three choices on the chalk menu, my friend and I easily found two options to split - quesidillas and polenta. The waiter was very nice and excited to have us there. He came back and told us they had run out of polenta but did have a vegan dog. We told him to give us the works, and we ended up with a real tasty, custom deluxe dog. They didn't have much left of the sides we ordered so they gave us them on the house, which was a nice gesture. I got what is called a Zepplollis, like a fried dough ball covered in cinnamon and sugar which was delicious :-) Everything was very yummy and the waitstaff was very pleasant and accommodating. I just think they are working out some kinks because they are new. I definitely plan on coming back I might try to come a bit earlier so there is less of a chance of them running out of stuff (came around 1pm) or check ahead of time to see what the options are for that day.

I quickly became a regular at Motobar, as did a few of my friends. While the bar and food menus are vegan, the waitstaff and customers have different dietary backgrounds, so don't be intimidated if you're not a vegan or still learning what plant-based cuisine entails. Everyone has been happy to answer questions and make recommendations. The coffee and espresso receive rave reviews. All of the food I have tried has been delicious. Highly recommend. Very friendly staff.
