What a beautiful dinner! The staff was fantastical and had plenty of beer knowledge. The variety of beer was quite impressive. I had the shrimp and asparagus pasta. I could have licked the plate! My lovely lady had the asparagus stuffed chicken. Another awesome choice! We will definitely return for another Wednesday night dinner!

Great lunch spot! Fried Brie Rolls are amazing! You can't really go wrong with anything here. Their salmon with couscous, ahi blt, and salads are my go-tos. Make sure to make reservations for a group lunch or go early because they tend to fill up. *If you're a soda drinker, they don't have a fountain so they give you a bottle, so no free refills.

By far the best service, food, and beverages you will experience in all of the Charleston area. The staff is incredibly friendly to the point where I just love stopping by simply because they make me smile. Highly recommend for dining, for catering, or for my favorite...picking up delicious growlers.

It's a little hidden gem. Not on the Main Street of Daniel island. I recently had the L.A Club and it was delicious and I was able to take the other half home to eat. I've always had delicious food her. I normally get the chicken caprese sandwich which is also delicious. They have a great menu, fresh food and excellent staff. They also are a wine bar but I've never actually taken advantage of this. I will be soon. It's a little pricey however it's worth it because the food is delicious and are made with quality ingredients.

I love this place. Varied menu with craft beers and wine. Pretty seating area inside and nice out door area as well. A plus is their dinner to go menu - changes every week and haven't had one I dislike. Obsessed with their sesame crusted tuna salad with bok choy slaw and wasabi mayo. Other favorites are the blackened fish choices to top a salad and the crab cake. Ingredients are fresh and the portions are generous. They can be a little slow at lunch when they are crowded so plan accordingly if you are looking to be somewhere. Love it.

It is my favorite restaurant in Charleston area, South Carolina. Since I'm allergic to shrimp I always order shrimp and scallop pasta without shrimp~ I love the portion and sauce with my pasta. I also enjoyed the peach flavored iced tea~ A great Hidden gem in Daniel Island area!!

LA's has many tasty selections in which different flavor combinations work perfectly. Fast and friendly service paired with a casual, elegant atmosphere makes for a pleasurable experience I would recommend for everyone in and around the area. It is well worth the trip for Laura Albert's tasteful options.

What an awesome mix of restaurant, wine shop, and rare craft beer store! The fella and I made a point to come here after some fantastic reviews on Beer Advocate, but we both thought it would probably be a "one and done" and we'd move on. Little did we know what we were about to stumble upon! It was so quaint, upscale and casual and we had the best time. Most of the patrons were having lunch when we got there, but we had just eaten, so we got dessert instead - a delicious pecan bourbon chocolate pie that looked just okay and tasted so good I wanted to lick the plate. I got a glass of wine, but the fella found a whole list of super rare Goose Island Bourbon County stouts he either had never heard of or couldn't find by us because they sold out so quickly. He was in heaven. The waitresses and owner were so kind and friendly to us. This is definitely a gem!

The food was tasty and fresh and the service was prompt. Overall, I had a great experience at Laura Alberts. However, it will not be a typical lunch spot due to the price. I thought my sandwhich was a little pricey and not all that filling. I think it is a nice treat and I enjoyed eating on the patio outside. It is a great place to go with a group of girlfriends or work buddies. They have lots of salad options and lighter lunch fair.

We went there for lunch on a Monday. Although there was a moderate amount of people eating we stood at the door forever before someone greeted or seated us. They have a huge wall of wine that blocks their view of new customers. Bad idea. Our waitress was a young college age girl that knew NOTHING about the menu. I asked her what dipping sauce came with the fries and what was in a salad and she didn't know. We overheard her tell another table that she had to go ask about an item. (train your wait-staff before putting them on the floor. Message me if you need help with this.) We had two mimosa's that were $7 a piece and were nothing special. $5 for McD's small size fry appetizer and two sandwiches. Our meal was $50!!!! Ridiculous. The food was actually really good and they seem to have a decent carryout menu for family style dining that I wouldn't mind trying. The food is good just be prepared to $14 for a ham wrap.

Had lunch with two business associates at LA's today. I know a blackened salmon Caesars salad is nothing special to write about but the salmon was fresh, seasoned well, and seared perfectly. The mahi sandwich was delish. If you're on Daniel Island looking for some lunch, give LA's a chance. Good stuff.

Pretty legit I must say. Stopped in for lunch with my boss this afternoon and was actually very impressed in the mahi sandwich. Perfectly blackened with a spicy mustard of sorts on fresh ciabatta bread? Hard to beat @ $13. Looking forward to trying the beer-braised chicken sandwich next!

One of the best Daniel Island restaurants! I love, love, love the food at Laura Alberts. They really do casual southern well. They also have local and craft beers on tap. Their wine/beer dinners are great too. 5 stars for Laura Alberts!

Wow, what a fantastic little place. I enjoyed a lovely lunch here during a recent interview trip to SC. We sat outside in the nice terrace area they have. I was impressed by the nice collection of wine and beer that they have at the entrance as you walk in. Once I sat down we ordered, and I chose the catch of the day which was a soft shell crab salad. Others in my group ordered a pasta, and a sandwich. They were both regulars to this establishment, and commented on how nothing here is bad. The food came very shortly after we ordered, Everything looked fresh and delicious. My salad was amazing, and the crab was perfection. I also had my first sweet tea, which was very nice. I would probably get it unsweetened next time, as it was definitely VERY sweet. The service was incredibly friendly. I would definitely be a regular of this place if I worked a few minutes away as well.

Yummy. Best lunch in town. Great sandwiches and salad. Super cute outdoors and very helpful with a wine selection. To take home. Make sure to try to pork sandwich and the cous cous.

This was our second opportunity to eat at Laura Alberts. The food was wonderful, I had the Caesar salad and my guest had the blackened chicken sandwich, both if which we give high marks, I ate it all. My only negative comment was the service. Our waitress never said "please" or "thank you." The service all around was almost awkward, as if we were lucky to be there. This is not an experience that any restaurant guest wants to feel. Will I go back? Probably. But I just hope that I will see more smiles and happy/upbeat attitudes at my next meal there.

Hands down the best sweet potato fries I've ever had! Good selection of wine and beer, $10 corkage for wine from the store side. Awesome!

Inventive, tasty. I dined here tonight for the Wednesday night dinner with two coworkers. It was my first visit to the area and to this gourmet food/wine/beer shop-cum-restaurant. I had a "bottomless glass" of craft brewed Eurotrash Lager served out of what appeared to be a homemade kegerator fashioned from an igloo cooler on the back patio. Nice touch. After loosening up with several beers, my feast began: 1) Cheese and Crackers 2) Fried Green Tomatoes (served with a crazy good apple chutney or somesuch) 3) Spinach Salad 4) Mediterranean Penne Pasta 5) Bourbon Bread Pudding Amazing food, all around and a fantastic ambiance. The only drawback - and I cannot fault them for this, really, is that they ran out of two of things I wanted from the menu and had to make substitutions for some of the cheeses on the cheese and crackers trio plate. When the restaurant only does dinner one night a week and every table is full when you sit down to eat at 8pm, this is bound to happen. Nevertheless, I still have to dock one star. Overall, a great meal at a great restaurant.

A true gem and without question, the best food on Daniel Island and the surrounding area. As a former resident and business owner, I've had the pleasure of taking many people from many places to Laura Albert's for lunch, and have never had anyone have anything less than a truly enjoyable dining experience. Why is this place the best??? First, it's owner operated and she's always present. There's an ability to retain staff, especially the kitchen help; there's no revolving door here. The food freshness is second to none, as is the consistency of the food and the service. There are plenty of desirable selections on the menu you won't find elsewhere. Folks, places like this don't grow on trees and they are few and far between. Trust me on this one and if really great food is what you have a hankering for, eat here not there and thank me when you have .If you have doubts, check out the menu and try it... you'll like it!! There's inside and outside dining and lunch is their bag baby! They only serve dine-in dinner on Wednesdays. They do offer takeout dinners other nights. It's best to preorder takeout dinner to ensure availability. You will find no shortage of free parking in the front, rear and side of the building. They also are into wine and beer pairing with the food. If you find this review helpful click on the: useful, funny or cool rating below or compliment and follow by clicking on the top right.

We selected this place based upon their wide selection of craft beers - bottled and on tap. We were not disappointed in the least. We were also very pleasantly surprised by the quality of their food. We can recommend the Chipotle Pork sandwich and the Lump Crab Cake sandwich - both were flat out awesome. This place is worth the drive!

Gourmet food and a great craft beer selection....need I say more? The meals at this restaurant are all chef inspired, and the service is great. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and there is plenty of parking.

As I thought about the word or words to describe Laura Alberts Tasteful Options the only one that really came to me was "quaint". Nestled just a stone's throw from the Tennis Stadium on Daniel Island lies a hidden gem of the Low County. Laura Alberts (named after family members) Tasteful Options was a pleasant surprise. It's a restaurant that also offers a few gifts, a very large wine and craft beer selection and some very interesting menu options. They are open for lunch Monday - Saturday and also offer brunch on Saturday. Dinner is served on Wednesday only from 5:00 - 9:00. The menu is not only creative it's also very large. I found it interesting that a small place like this (it probably seats 50+) has such an aggressive menu. It is a fresh, local menu serving certified South Carolina grown products. It ranges from Appetizers (7) to Soups & Salads (7 - with the additional option of 7 toppings), Specialties (9), Warm Sandwiches (9) Cold Sandwiches (8) and side dishes (9). Each page of the menu also offers "Beer or Wine" Complements from their extensive hard-to-find craft beer and large wine selection. This is the first menu in SC that we've seen that suggests beer or wine with their menu items. It was tough to make a decision. PLUS... they offer a daily specials page of about 6 items. Phew, I was exhausted. We settled on a Chipotle Pork Tenderloin Sandwich with melted provolone cheese, a side of "mojo" dressing, and a choice of a side. We chose blue cheese cole slaw as the side. We also ordered the "catch of the day" which was penne pasta tossed with shrimp, asparagus, grape tomatoes, parmesan cheese in a lemon butter white wine sauce. We couldn't wait for lunch to arrive. I must admit though that pet peeve #7 (servers calling me "honey") was hard at play here. The server whose name we did not catch continually addressed me as "hon" or "honey", which I felt was very inappropriate. We have found the folks here to be incredibly respectful, polite and kind, but this was not endearing. The server doesn't know me, I'm not her friend, and I'm definitely not "honey". Enough said. Lunch arrived quickly and my pasta was piping hot. The Chipotle Pork Tenderloin Sandwich was tender and when topped with the "mojo" dressing, it gave it a nice spice and a little heat. The blue cheese cole slaw was fabulous, some of the best we've tasted. But alas, I did it again, I ordered the wrong thing. From such a large menu I had a world of possibilities, but apparently, didn't pick the right dish. Yes, the dish was piping hot. Yes, the shrimp was cooked to perfection and the plate dotted with halved grape tomatoes and bite-sized pieces of crisp asparagus. But the flavors that I thought it would have - lemon, for one, was completely lost. The dish was swimming in white wine. Not tossed, but swimming as in the deep end. The flavor of the white wine was so overpowering that the dish was really not great at all. "Why didn't you say something to the server?" You ask? Other that when I flagged her down to ask for some additional shredded parmesan cheese, we didn't see her again, so she couldn't have asked us how our lunch was. At $36.00 for lunch and two diet cokes, the place is a tad steep. Not that I wouldn't give it another try, since the menu looks like it has some great selections. Just not the one I chose. And don't call me hon.

Laura Alberts is the best place to buy craft beer in Charleston. Because they also serve food, they can also let you sample the beer on tap. With SC's ye-ole 1776 laws, most places that have craft beer cannot allow tastings, so this is important. The atmosphere is what makes this place. It's beautiful and classy inside, but yet it's casual and feels warm and friendly inside. The staff is friendly and also VERY knowledgable about beer and wine. (Really, they know their stuff.) I almost always go to Growler Hour after work on Wednesdays where they discount both growler fills and pints. Many times, they'll host representatives from various breweries which is awesome because you really learn a lot about the beers you're drinking. Normally in a review, most people talk about their favorite dish. I can't really do that for Laura Alberts because each time I get something different, it becomes my new favorite. What I do know is that it must be difficult to keep angels on the payroll to bless the plates as they leave the kitchen, but somehow they do it. They often do wine and beer pairing dinners, and if you have the ability to goto one of these, it's a truly unique and intimate experience and worth every dollar! At both of the dinners that I've attended, the owner's entire (of age) family attended and enjoyed the pairings as much as their guests. Their host (usually a brewmaster or sommelier from a winery) explains the drinks and at the end, the chefs come out and discuss their pairing and answer questions from the guests. I love this place.

Recommended by a friend, lunch at Laura Alberts exceeded my expectations. I ordered the jumbo crab cake on wilted garlic spinach with a spicy creme sauce. It was excellent! Included with it, sweet and sour chutney and a cheese grit cake. A fine dining dinner experience ~ served at lunch. The restaurant has a wine store with a great selection to pair wine with your food. I was a good girl and said no to wine at lunch.

We stopped into Laura Alberts while we were killing time on Daniel Island and were delightfully surprised by everything there. The store was run by two friendly ladies who were knowledgable about all their offerings. The shop is quaint and well-stocked with a variety of gourmet snacks, cheeses, wines, and a surprisingly good craft beer selection. We sat down at the wine bar and had a nice sampler of their homemade salads (crab, pimento cheese, shrimp) and a flight of beers. They offer rotating beers on tap and growlers available for purchase and refill. Also have a nice wine by the glass offering to sip on while you shop. We didn't try their entree offerings but looked over the menu and they offer a nice bistro-style menu for lunch and brunch. We would definitely stop by again if we were in the area for a snack. Of all the dining options on Daniel Island, this wouldn't be the spot I would pick to go to dinner but for lunch or while shopping it would be perfect. I also noticed that they offer a rotating menu of takeout dinner options for those too busy to cook.

I've been impressed by the sandwiches at Laura Alberts lately. The cold sandwiches have been tasty and large, the hot sandwiches have been delicious--especially the roasted vegetable. They have craft beer on tap and do growler fills. They also have bottled beer and wine on the retail side. I prefer to get my wine from Crushed in Mount Pleasant and my beer from the Charleston Beer Exchange downtown--here the staff are generally more focused on the lunch business and seem less knowledgeable and less helpful on the retail side. For beer, Laura Alberts will certainly do when downtown is inconvenient. For wine, I'm more familiar with the layout, get better service, and better prices in several other places.

My wife and I visit Daniel Island 3x year, such a nice spot. We were fortunate to be in town on a Wednesday night so we could try dinner. We arrived at 5:30 or so to a quiet dining area, within 30 minutes every table top was full. Server was friendly and the food so very good. Our scallops were perfectly prepared, salmon w couscous was awesome, so full of flavor and the creme brûlée was an even balance of lemon and vanilla, as the server described. The atmosphere, quality and value made it a wonderful meal. We will certainly dine here again!

Delicious. Great waitstaff and service, the wine and beer list was world class and the owner was onsite and friendly. The duck I ordered was equal to the duck I had a few years back in Nice France. The evening was worth every penny.

Delicious Crab Quiche! I recently attended a bridal brunch at Laura Alberts and really enjoyed myself. The food was fresh and yummy, the dining area was comfortable and a perfect size for our group of about 30. There was also plenty of parking...so the entire process was very enjoyable.

I adore Laura Alberts!! Working on Daniel Island allows me to eat here once every week or two and every time I have a great experience! The restaurant is small but there's a great back patio when the weather is right. The staff feel like a wonderful family... tightly knit, big smiles, and always willing to help where needed. The service, no matter how busy (and they are always busy!), is efficient but you don't feel rushed. Try the chicken salad sandwich. Y-U-M. if you have room, don't miss out on the chocolate bourbon pecan pie. I haven't tried it but I hear their dinners to go are amazing as well. For $16 for two people you get a great home cooked meal. You can't beat this place on Daniel Island for the price... Oh yeah, one of the waitresses looks like Lindsay Lohan before she became a cokehead. Think Freaky Friday Lindsay Lohan... just a bit older and surely drug free.

The pimento cheese egg salad sandwich is pretty good. I haven't gone for the growler specials yet, but would like to.
