Jade Garden isn't super fancy, but the food is tasty and a great value for Chinese takeout. The food is typical Chinese takeout with numbered lunch and dinner combinations, as well as pints that you can buy. My husband eats here a lot, but tonight was my first time trying it. I will be back. Tonight, we got 2 combination dinners- one hunan shrimp and one general tso's chicken. The shrimp came with veggies, and both meals came with fried rice and an egg roll. The meals come with pork fried rice, but I don't eat pork and they happily gave me plain fried rice with onions. We also got a large wonton soup for my husband. The portions are big and the ratios of rice to the entree were good. The shrimp in my hunan shrimp were huge, the dish wasn't super spicy, and the veggies were tasty. I guess if you want a spicier dish, you should tell them because mine was marked spicy on the menu, but wasn't spicy at all. The price was right too. For $24, both of us are happy and full and we both have leftovers for tomorrow. The meals are big enough to share if you don't want leftovers. They also packaged it with enough sauce and with 4 fortune cookies. I liked that they packaged it in a box instead of a bag because it was easy to carry out and nothing spilled in the car. You can eat in with a few tables, but I just opted to wait and take the food home. They have newspapers to read while you wait, or you could opt to phone in your order (I got a menu and will probably do this next time).

Overcooked and old grease. I had to shower immediately to get the smell of grease off my body. Perhaps the worst dining experience I've had in my life.

We've gotten takeout from Jade Garden several times. I don't know why I didn't think to write a review before....maybe because we ate the food at home? Here's what I ordered last night ($40): egg drop soup hot and sour soup moo goo gai pan pepper steak beef with broccoli sweet and sour pork shrimp with snow peas I placed my order and ran next door to Bi-Lo. 15 minutes later, I picked it up. Neatly packaged in bowls/boxes placed in a cardboard box so that everything would get home safely. They even added a box of sugar-sprinkled doughnuts. :) I asked for the hot and sour soup to be extra hot and my husband said it was just the right heat, but he added a splash more vinegar to his to make it a little more sour. Everything else was cooked perfectly and although we didn't eat it right away (it was early when I picked it up) it stayed rather warm/hot for a good two hours. The shrimp in the snow peas dish were gargantuan. There were 8 or 9 in the order and we cut them up, they were so large! Cooked spot on, nice and tender. I didn't get any spring rolls yesterday, but I normally do and I eat them right away! I love that they are made with the very thin wrappers, Filipino-style, just like lumpia. Super crispy and blazingly hot....I always end up burning my mouth on them, but I don't regret it at all! They are just that good. What I love about Jade Garden is that it is NOT overly salted. I like being able to control how much soy sauce I add to my meal, because so many Chinese restaurants make their food super salty. We'll be back. Lots.

We had a little post-Chicago Blackhawks win-craving, so we thought we would call in to our local Chinese joint for the first time. The man I spoke on the phone with was nice, but I was confused as to why he didn't ask my name when I placed the order! The inside was clean and a pretty typical Chinese food place. We had our order to-go. The pork fried rice was delicious. I was so thankful that it wasn't greasy. It had lots if pork and fresh onions. We also ordered spring rolls. Perhaps it's because I'm not a frequent Chinese food eater, but I was really confused as to why my spring rolls were fried. I was expecting a fresh roll with peanut sauce, like I usually get at places like Co. What we got were more similar to egg rolls. Next time we go in, I'm going to ask a little more about their rolls. They were pretty small, and tasted ok. Reminded me of frozen ones from the store. For this reason, we gave this place a 4. We may change our opinion once we have tried more options! We will definitely go back to try more of their dishes. The menu looks pretty fairly priced, and it's in a convenient location for us.

Love the pork fried rice here....I have been going here for a pint of pork fried rice for probably 15 years. Thats all I eat there, as it is great and I stick with the same thing every time!

Not bad for charleston. We ordered the Mongolian chicken, veggie lo mein, steamed dumplings and crab Rangoon. Crab tango was excellent. Made fresh!
