I had the grits and the hashbrowns and they were delicious. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in town.

Excellent! We came here looking for a "real" breakfast and found exactly that and more. Great food, good prices & excellent service.

Food was great and very cheaply priced. Staff was super friendly. This is going to be my new weekend breakfast spot.

Great staff, amazing food, and prices nowhere else can beat! We came here because it was nearby and we will definitely be regulars!

This is my new favorite breakfast spot. Two eggs, a fresh bagel, and bacon for $3.99 can't be beat!! Above average quality for a Charleston breakfast as well. Legit bagels and the bacon and pancakes are tasty. Unlimited refills on well brewed coffee. The Ruben for lunch is pretty good too! The service here can be a little confusing for a first timer, but rule of thumb is that if you want to dine in you can take a seat and you'll be served, but if you are in a hurry best bet would be to go ahead and order at the counter. They leave your check on the table right when you order and when you're ready to leave you just grab your check and walk up to the counter to pay. Easy enough! I've never had a bad experience here and I encourage you all to try it. Protip: They are closed on Sundays!

This is a cute little diner the waitress was very helpful the food was delicious and I would recommend it to any couple that's just looking for a bite to eat

Quality ingredients. Super nice staff. Wifi wasn't great though, but I was there to eat, and eat I did. Big portions.

I've worked in North Charleston near here for 2.5 years and didn't know this place existed until this weekend! My parents were visiting and we wanted a spot for breakfast before they went back to IL. Ohhhhh it was so good!! The corn beef and hash was real corned beef chipped and hash browns. It's priced right and is Kosher if that's important to you! Definitely worth stopping in for! They deliver, cater and will host your meetings in their large meeting room!! I look forward to lunching there during work!

Diner food at its best. Cute older couple that own it and have been feeding north charleston with moms home cooking for years. Philly sandwich is great and breakfast is a win win. Bagels are great and meatloaf will bring you back again and again.

Good food, good service, clean place and very reasonable prices make this the best bang for your buck in Charleston. Scratching my head over the few negative reviews.

I would've taken a picture but I got too excited. I got eggs and ham and my husband got French toast. The eggs and ham was a generous portion and what I tried of the French toast was very good. It's a small diner in a weird location in you aren't from the area. Overall the food was pretty good for breakfast.

Had the Roast Beef on a Croissant, very tasty! My one complaint would be how well done the roast beef was when the menu said it was rare. Regardless, the taste was there and the meat was still juicy. Lunch specials are very well priced (6.99 for most sandwhiches) and the desserts looked delicous. I look forward to coming back and trying the pastrami and corned beef!

The food was really good and cheap to boot. Definitely returning.

I have returned twice. Breakfast is delicious, corned beef and hash with 2 eggs is awesome, the two one star reviews (on the same date) below probably went together and out of spite and just how bad this was, HAD to write two reviews, but yeah, good deals here.

Hello Deli is not fancy. It is breakfast. It is inexpensive. It can be a little greasy and maybe a little unhealthy depending on your menu selection, but that's on you. I personally, love it. They have fresh baked bagels, a good selection of breakfast and lunch items, friendly staff, and some legit diner coffee. My favorite item is the egg sandwich on an everything bagel with cheese and bacon, and you know what? I'm feeling generous, so I'll go ahead and allow you to copy my breakfast combination if you'd like - free of charge, Do it. And then vote my review as useful. Thanks.

Stopped through here on the way to North Chuck and it was everything I was expecting and needed. My wife and I were in a hurry but both wanted some breakfast (not the sausage, egg, & cheese griddle-type) and I remembered that Hello Deli was in the area. The lady go an egg and cheese bagel, and I got a Belgian waffle with a side of bacon and sausage. All great. The waffle wasn't my favorite waffle I've ever had, but solid. And they had decent diner coffee to boot. Really good breakfast, fantastic prices, and you are in and out very quickly (if you need to be). I bet from the time we sat down to paying, it was a total of 15 minutes. Safe to say this will be my go-to for a quick, solid, diner breakfast (especially if I'm pressed for time).

I love breakfast here! Visited twice during my business trip. Eggs are fresh, service is great and everything was perfect. I tried both the Eggs Benedict on a Bagel and the Ham and Cheese Omelet. Coffee was fresh both times. Price was also outstanding. If you're in the area and looking to have breakfast you should just head straight here!

Don't come for a standard breakfast!!!! I saw the reviews and hoped their bfast would be as good as the reviews said their sandwiches were; WRONG! Ordered a bacon, light cheese egg scramble, and got a greasy egg with heavy cheese omelette with below average greasy bacon on the side??? I also got a waffle which was good and would recommend it; just put butter and syrup on it. Don't mind the old burnt pieces from other waffles:/ Won't be back here for breakfast anyway...lame!!:(

This place is pretty dang good. The waffle was perfect and the service was fast friendly.

Hello Deli is an excellent restaurant! We have our regional meetings here, every month. We call in our orders and they have it ready, when we arrive. The food is delicious and always to order! I highly recommend the Broadway (heated) with french fries. Give them a try!

I must be at the wrong place. This place is horrible in every aspect. I do not understand the great reviews. I eat at places all over town and this place is worse than Waffle House. I'm sorry Waffle House. POOR service. Server had an attitude. Never asked how we enjoyed our meal or checked on us during the meal. Coffee was bitter. Place is filthy. Tables are coming apart. Food SUCKS. Those of you who had good reviews need to expand your horizons a bit and check out other spots. I will admit.......it was my first time here and it's possible that I simply caught them on a bad day. BUT.....the fundamentals of service, courtesy, and good food was completely absent. Go to Spinx gas station for breakfast.....even their preprepared is much better. I was expecting so much more. Very disappointing. The good news is that this place is proof that ANYONE can open a successful food establishment. 1 star is being generous.

Harvey makes great food and is very friendly... Feels like home every time we are there, which is at least twice a month for breakfast .... Priced just right ... Great service ....

The menu is a classic deli menu. Everything here is fresh and served hot off the grill. The Chef likes his job and it shows in his food. Very generous omelets. Fresh bagels. Very good coffee. Lunch is pastrami, corned beef, sirloin burgers, salads, grilled cheese and soups. The staff is very friendly. They want to be a return customer!!! That's a refreshing change in customer service nowadays. It is open from 6am to 3pm Monday through Saturday. Try it, you'll like it.

Hello Deli is a nice change from your chain style restaurants, as it is an unassuming place that offers great food. Food - From what I have seen and been told about this place is that it has an excellent Reuben sandwich. Though I have never personally ordered the Reuben, b/c I do not like the dressing, several people w/ me have stated this is an excellent sandwich. What I can attest to is the fact that the other menu items are very good. I have had the steak & cheese, the chicken & cheese, the grilled chicken sandwich, and a breakfast (pancakes, grits, eggs, and bacon), which were all very tasty. The sandwiches I have had were all prepared on a decent roll or bun and came w/ a side of crinkle cut fries. While these are not fresh cut, the fries were hot and crisp. I just recommend getting the fries only if you are eating in. If you get them to go they become soggy in the provided Styrofoam box. Oh, the bacon that comes w/ the breakfast is awesome too...it was cooked to perfection. Service - Attentive and friendly, especially after a few visits. They really seem to remember who you are and what you like. Overall - A great spot to grab breakfast or lunch. FYI - If you frequent here, as I do, you can get a rewards card that will get you a free meal after ten equal purchases.

Hello Deli, the hottest ticket in town, breakfast/lunch spot with cute theater theme menu, Act 1 is Breakfast & Act 2 is Lunch, showstopper sandwiches, guest stars from Philly, "Souper" star items, supporting players lists sides, featured performers, my cheeseburger great & cooked perfect med well, bun not too big so filled up on great sirloin burger versus the bun, friendly staff, wide selection, will def return

Fantastic service and great prices! I switch up my order a lot because the menu has tons of excellent options. Some of my favorite items are the mac and cheese, the grilled chicken sandwhich, and the Broadway sandwich. The cheeseburgers are pretty good as well! Great soups and good coffee. Desserts can be hit or miss. I frequent Hello Deli at brunch and lunch and have never had a bad experience. They really like to get to know their patrons which is a huge plus - always friendly.

Last time I was at Hello Deli I figured I had to try the Rueben that everyone raves about. To start off I am not a big fan of rueben's due to the kraut. The waitress suggested that I maybe try the Rachel (a variation of the rueben that swaps out the kraut for cole slaw). I really am not a picky eater but I'm not a big fan of slaw either. Anyway, I decided to stick to the original and go with the rueben the way it was intended. It was the best rueben I have ever had. The Pastrami was stacked in as others have mentioned and the combination of all the flavors together made me forget all about the fact that I don't usually go for the kraut. It was a great addition to the sandwich and I will continue to get it on the sandwich when I go back. The staff is very friendly and they have somewhat of a family atmosphere. I was told all the meats are done in house and never processed which I like and they mentioned they have plenty of Kosher options as well. I am not Jewish but Kosher is always welcome in my book. I see that they use Hebrew National for some stuff but also on the menu there are other traditional Jewish dishes i.e. lox, motzo balls, etc... I have had lunch a few times here and it is always excellent food, service, and cleanliness. I haven't been in for breakfast but I am looking forward to giving it a try as well.

Inexpensive and quick diner/deli. If you're looking for ambiance or some lame hipster scene, this is not your spot. If you want a simple bacon/egg/cheese sandwich and coffee this is the perfect place. They also have the best reuben sandwich in the Charleston area.

We had coffee, omelets, home fries, hash browns, grits, toast, and a bagel. The only disappointment was the hash browns, which were a bit soggy. Everything else was good and reasonably priced. We sat outside. Service was good.

Without a doubt the WORST service I have ever experienced in many, many years of dining out. Food was less than unremarkable and I'm sure the only reason they are still in business is due to the proximity to city hall. The ugly tables have more personality than the ONE waitress did. She never asked us how things were, if we cared for anything else, NOTHING. Ridiculous experience. Wouldn't let me post without a star, but it really deserves ZERO STARS. Too bad for North Charleston.

Went there at around six in the morning by myself before work, and it was really relaxed. Great portions and great coffee, which was refilled no less than four times without my even asking. Price is more than reasonable to top it off. I liked the place a lot.

Jewish friends recommended this place to my family for the pastrami and corned beef. I took this as valuable advice because who better knows corned meats than a jew? They also said it's much like a NY diner. So I found myself in the area and sought to take a visit. It is more dinery than deli, the menu was small and you sit down to eat, and it has the popular breakfast and kosher deli items on it. I ordered the pastrami and corned beef to go for my mom (I'm non meat eater). My order was egg and cheese on a bagel, kind of forgettable. The 2 stars, however, goes to my spacey waitress. She was gone for very long times, never gave me a coffee refill, took forever to bring out a check when requested, and I waited 20 minutes for the to-go order before I spoke up to another waitress (bc IDK where mine was) and this woman went in back to get my waitress and then her response was "Oh I put it on the counter..." I mean really?! Could you have not said something or were you thinking I had eyes in the back of my head? The entire Hello Deli breakfast took over 2 hours!!!

They'd be better off if they turned this into a kinkos. A true dump. Surly service and bad food.

Such a cute place with the sweetest, friendliest staff. They let me hang out all day to study. Most customers that came in they knew on first name basis. Love that about the South!

Truly outstanding meal all the way down to the home made pickel. Great service and good value. Will definitely be a regular lunch stop

This place is a total gem in the middle of North Charleston's many chains. The service was excellent, from the minute we walked in until we left happy and full. Our server was very friendly, patient and attentive, and she even made sure the kids were pleased with their meals. The homemade corned beef hash is some of the best around, according to my father-in-law. Everyone's expectations were exceeded when it came to the tastiness of the food - everything was fresh and made to order just right. Can't wait to go back!

Was headed to a chain restaurant to grab a quick sandwich and passed Hello Deli. The parking lot was dull (always a sign the place is popular with locals) so decided to try it. Despite the place being very busy we were promptly seated and our order taken. They have a great menu offering New York style deli options and many kosher selections. We chose the open face California Ruben and the turkey club with a side of potato salad. Both were delicious , and the potato salad a hit with my husband who is quite particular when it comes to potato salad. Good food, quick and friendly service, and many menu options will bring us back the next time we are in North Charleston.

First time in today. Very nice people and very fresh food. Had the Club Deluxe with fries, sweet tea. They pile on the meat, no joke. It says "stuffed" on the menu and when I left, yes I was.... Will return quite a bit for sure. :)

Oh, Hello Deli. I'm sure that you are a wonderful location for people working in the immediate vicinity in need of a bagel fix or a quick sandwich....however, for a morning in which I had a score of wonderful restaurants in Charleston to try and I used a meal up on you, I feel a little bit dirty. Let me start by saying that there is absolutely nothing wrong with this spot. The service was friendly and quick, and we were seated without any kind of a wait. My bagel and lox were fresh, although I needed to repeat my order 3 times to the waitress before she understood what I wanted. (I still ended up with the wrong cream cheese) Sweet Tea was very good, and the staff checked back regularly to ensure the coffee was full and the Tea was replenished. Not much else to report. Totally adequate, if slightly underwhelming.

The reuban is good, but not amazing, as everyone makes it out to be. But for this part of the country, it's probably way ahead of anywhere else in the area. The key here is that it's a great value for the price, and the service is excellent and fast. I'd definitely return.

my co-workers talk about this place all the time. so my wife and i decided to give it a try for lunch today.... we both loved it. service was great - and our food was very good. knish was cool to see on the menu. lots of kosher stuff...lots of sandwiches (breakfast/lunch)...bagels....etc ..it was crowed @ lunch time. they do breakfast and lunch only and close up just after lunch. the owner asked how my sandwich was and i told him great.....he said good because it took me 40 years to learn how to make you that sandwich.....its cool place....we ill go back.

I went right as they were about to close so I only had a quick glance at the menu and went for a safe bet of a BLT. Sandwich was great but I plan to return and try something a little more daring.

A co-worker of mine told us about this place and had placed a couple of their menus out. So looking through the menu, I noticed that they have a good sized assortment of breakfast and lunch items. They are open from 6 am to 3pm (hopefully they will stay open later in the future). The Menu: Breakfast items include basic dishs (omeletts, [insert meat] & eggs, belgian waffles, etc) to bizzare (sauteed chicken livers & eggs, and Lox (thats thinly sliced salmon, fish for breakfast?!)). Lunch items consist of deli style sandwichs that are almost nonexistant in SC (ie Reuben, Philly, Monte Cristo, Kosher Pastrami & Salami, Rare Roast beef,etc.). The Reuben test: For me, I love Reubens but there are very very few "deli's" in SC that actually know how to make a decent Reuben. If they can make a good Reuben, i will definitely be back to try other menu items. Hello Deli! definitely knows how to make a good...no a spectacular Reuben! The marble rye bread was soft and lightly grilled to perfectly melt the wonderful swiss cheese. The juicy and thinly sliced Kosher corned beef was piled neatly and topped with a heafty amount of sauerkraut wth a hint of russian dressing. The bread soaked in some of the juices from the meat on both slices and just melts in your mouth and oddly enough not in your hand. I love the fact that they didn't drown the sandwich in dressing; on that note didn't use just any 1000 island dressing from the store, looked like it but tasted like it was homemade. Didn't matter cause my taste buds were too busy having a sexy party. The only gripe i had was the meat was not spread evenly around the sandwich, but that was it. Location: It located across the new Verizon Call center and the new place that being built. Its tucked behind Picadily cafe (avoid this like the plague..or swine flu to stay current). Hello Deli! shares a building with a daycare. It looks like a bad location but with all the businesses around it, i see it flourishing quickly..hopefully! The inside of the place reminds me of a small local coffee shop that all walks of life would feel comfortable. The staff was very friendly and greeted everyone with a smile, and very polite...all opposite of east bay deli! Prices: I believe they are reasonable due to how much food is given and how well its prepared. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that is a huge deli sandwich buff. Can't wait to try there other items.

We have ordered lunch 3 times in the past 10 days - each one has been arrived quickly and been great. So far my fave has been roast beef with Harvarti cheese and mayo on a croissant. The beef was super rare, juicy and delicious. So far we have all been really happy with our choices and the many offers such a wide variety that we won't be getting bored too soon. Owned by same folks from Nathans deli in West Ashley.

Great Place, Right next to City Hall in North Charleston. Staff is very friendly & helpful they treat you like you are the only customer. It feels a little strange to be served lunch with that much enthusiasm. The food was great! I had the Turkey salad sandwich w/ bacon on toasted bread- it was very good and had a taste to it that can best be described as "Thanksgiving". I really enjoyed the potato salad, the pickle that comes with the sandwiches tastes like it was home canned. All the food seems to have a home made quality. They have several lunches for $5.00 that include a sandwich/ side/ drink. They have a stamp card program to earn free meals. They deliver to local businesses.
