Great friendly service! AJ and Josh were quick and helpful! We had a rocky road sunday and the Coffee Frappe. Tasted great!

For what you get, it's way pricey. The workers kind of have an attitude too, I guess they don't like being downtown with all the tourists or something? There's an obnoxious sign on the water fountain telling people not to use it as a sink- I hate when people do that too, but there isn't a public restroom there for people to wash their hands. Go to one of several local dessert places downtown where you can get better products (or more product) for the same price or cheaper, while supporting a local business. Haagen is good, but it's $3.50 for a child's cup which isn't even an entire scoop at any other place of business. Milkshakes here are $6.50ish- eek! I know it's downtown and there's price inflation, but you're not getting an all-star product, either. Plus, you're in Charleston. You can get Haagen Dazs anywhere, including your local grocery store. Spring for local!

Overpriced product. Unfriendly and rude staff. Asked for a glass of water after purchasing a $7 shake and they tried to change me an extra dollar. They refused to let me fill my water bottle instead. Avoid this location and company at all costs. Support a local shop or go to Jeni's ice cream on King Street instead.

Seriously expensive ice cream ($3.45 for a child's cup?????) We gotta take a stand against "Ultra High-End" price gouging. But the 1 star review is for the Grumpy Gus behind the counter who's hot button issue is misuse of his precious water fountain. Whenever I think I have problems, I'm just going to remember this guy's universe revolves around regulating the use of a water fountain. Do not use it to wet a napkin! It is for drinking only. Back to the issue of cost, I realize it is in a touristy section of town. An immediate tipoff should have been the suspect marketplace that runs near it ($12 for a a bottle of hot sauce, PLEASE) I would much rather support a local business for ice cream, but I didn't know the lay of the land. At this point, I'm only using Yelp to rail against businesses that piss me off. So suffice it to say, if I'm writing you a review, it's not looking good.

Why doesn't this place have 5 star rating on yelp? It's a great place, small building so you're in and out, has a variety of flavors that are unmatchable anywhere else. Yes, it's a little pricey but its quality and delicious milkshakes. They even have ice cream for your DOGS! How cute. My pug at home loves its little ice cream cup. The staff seem friendly and quick. I eat lots of milkshakes from places like Ye Old Fashioned to Steak n Shake and I have to say that the best milkshake I have ever had was from Haagen Dazs... Called Midnight Cookies n Cream. Get it and you'll see why it's worth every penny.

Visited this store on 6/23/2013 on vacation. It was a joy visiting with the owner of the shop. Very down to earth and a pleasant, he had some interesting and funny stories of real life stupidity. Hope his book does very well! When you're in Charleston stop and take a bath in the drinking fountain... Haha just kidding ;-) The Illinois crew

Horrible tourist trap. They are VERY rude here, especially the owner. Plan on being forced into buying a way to expensive ice cream if you sample anything. If you don't, the owner will rip you a new one. She was the WORST ice cream scooper/owner I have ever met.. Avoid this place at all cost. If your looking for ice cream or made fresh daily pies and cakes than cross the street make a left and walk a few blocks on market and you will find kaminsky's. It is local, fresh and they are very nice. I wish we would have just gone there to begin with but our visitors wanted to try Hagen Dazs....they regretted it.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I know this is a tourist town and people are going to go here no matter what, but for the locals out there I'd seriously think again before giving them your business. I stopped in there with a BOGO coupon and ordered two triple scoop cups. After putting effort into serving us the smallest scoops they could get away with, I paid and then put a dollar of my change in the tip jar (because I still figured I was getting a decent deal). Before walking out the door I decided to ask if they had a small water cup or anything I could use to split my ice cream and share it with another friend, they said something along the lines of "Is free ice cream not enough for you, we have to inventory every cup that goes through here and you want to mooch of our cups too?" Then proceeded to tell me that if I wanted a cup it would be $2. This was the bearded guy behind the counter who turned mean on a dime. I was so surprised by the quick turn around, and although I shouldn't have said it I replied, "Well I should just take my tip back then if you're so unhelpful" to which they threatened to call the cops on me and followed it up with "quit being a douchebag". A sixty year old woman called me a douchebag. I am not a child, I am 25 years old and don't believe that asking for a cup was unreasonable. They said that nobody in town would just give me a cup for free (which is obviously far from the truth). Anyways, they were skimpy in honoring their own coupon and then provided the worst customer service I have ever received in Charleston. They yelled at me for "mooching" and followed me out in the street to tell me to never come back. Don't worry, I wouldn't even consider it.
