Great spot for a quick high quality meal. Order up front, take your seat, and they bring it out to you. HUGE variety. Decadent and delicious desserts. Never had a bad experience. Recommended to everyone!

A descent deli place with quality food and a nice salad bar. Nothing out of the extraordinary, but a good place for a good quick sit down. Much better than your average McAllister's or Panera Bread, but the price is also on a little high end. Had the half turkey Reuben and Salad bar. Came out to $12. The Reuben was pretty delicious despite them using a very lean meat and the salad bar was fresh and had a good variety of vegetables and fruits, but not a big selection of proteins.

A bit pricy for what you'd think of as a normal "deli" but the food is great! They have wraps too which as a non bread eater, I loved. And BONUS, they deliver to basically anywhere in West Ashley.

I'd you're looking for overpriced deli food served by snobby girls in yoga pants, then this is the place for you.

Went back to give a try. Better service and my meatball sub was amazing! They checked my order twice before giving to me and the ladies behind the counter were very pleasant. the restroom could have used a little cleaning since it was 10:45 am but other than that a good experience.

This establishment is usually run by friendly high school or college students, but they are always quick with processing the orders. The food is always fresh and consistent. The salad bar has chicken salad, tuna salad, and a bunch of other items to enhance the standard lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumber type salad bar, including beets, pickled okra, and edamame.

I've eaten at East Bay Deli downtown, up near CSU, and now at this one on Savannah highway. The one downtown is definitely the best, and I'd say this one is the worst of the three I've been to. The folks here seemed a little impatient, but the Reuben I received was the same Reuben that floored me the day I first ordered it five years ago. The only problem with it is the sauce seeps through the bread to make for a messy meal. This place should be easy to find, its the only building nearby that looks like the four corners of the building and being used to lift it into the sky (since they arch upwards). If I remember correctly, this building used to be an old flower shop, but it definitely doesn't look that way any more.

East Bay Deli has become my favorite deli in town. The ingredients are fresh, ripe, and juicy. The delivery fee is free although, don't forget to tip your delivery driver. They are fast and customer service over the phone was excellent. I could tell when I called to place an order the young lady on the phone was busy and I had a few questions but she kept her cool and gladly answered all my questions. Inside is really neat with all the Charleston themed art and an amazing selection at the salad bar. I can tell you this for sure the "others" across the street may have free ice cream but east bay deli is way better.

Looking for a quick stop while passing through the area . As I am not a"fast food" fan , my hopes of finding a restaurant that had delicious sandwiches , fast service and great prices did not seem hopeful . We passed a number of chains and upscale eateries . Even went in one nice looking hamburger restaurant that was packed out on a Sunday night so we left . Then we spotted East Bay Deli. It was well worth the wait . Attractively decorated with memorabilia , clean and spacious , we found just the menu we had been wanting . I ordered the Wild Roast Beef sandwich . It was awesome ! Every item I read in the menu seemed to have a special personal touch of a homemade sauce or ingredient . It is now our favorite stop when visiting the Charlestown area . Great variety, fresh salad bar and a temping desert counter . Wish I had room left to try one .

This was our weekly post-church lunch spot. Sadly, we won't be returning. My husband got the salad bar, and returned to the table with salad and fruit. He tasted the pineapple and immediately spit it out-it had gone bad. I then watched him eat a few pieces of very smushed and old looking strawberries before freezing in mid bite as he realized there was a living fly on his food. He took it up to the manager, who literally said "Oh, ok." That was their entire explanation and apology. They did take the fruit off the salad bar at that point, but absolutely no customer service for the person who almost ate an insect. Very disappointed.

The Reuben was deli-icious. ( Hey ohh I'm so punny) But in all seriousness, I have been ordering food from the Downtown Location since freshman year of college. Consistency, Tastiness and Quality are the best three words to describe my experience with East Bay Deli over the years. Just recently I visited this West Ashley location and all the same qualities of excellence apply to this location. Staff was extremely friendly. Decor was very cool. Cleanliness was top notch. Very large selection. I have tried around ten different items on the menu and have not had a complaint with any of them. My favorites are The Citadel and The Reuben. Highly recommend a stop by to try it out if you haven't already. Tl;DR (save you some time) -Clean -Quality, Consistency, Tastiness -Variety -Quick friendly service

The pastrami Reuben was delicious!! The soup of the day was minestrone. I loved it and I hate veggies. Would eat this once a week. The creamy tomatoe soup was also very tasty. Great lunch / deli spot. They offer indoor and outdoor dining so good for pets too.

All 6 people at my table loved their meals! It did not take long to receive them. And the cashier was just okay, not overly nice BUT not a big deal when the food was tasty and the place was clean! Would go again!

First time here! Super nice staff. Great selections on the menu. My hubby ordered the "New York Yankee" and I ordered the "Terrific Turkey Melt"! Good portions, fresh deli meats, and veggies! A little on the pricey side, but will definitely go back.

What a pleasure to eat at the East Bay Deli. The food is very good, people are friendly and my wife and both enjoy it very much. What's better is the price is right. If you leave hungry, your hands, arms and mouth are broken.

Every time I go to East Bay there are several employees' hanging out behind the counter with less than friendly attitudes. The Last time I was in there I saw one of the female employee's put her hands on her back under her shirt, I assume scratching her back, and then manages to stick those same dirty hands in a large bag of chips to fill my to go order, I was done. No gloves? No let me wash my hands first and then add chips to this order? Service is bad and food is overpriced. I do like their rueben and would have no real issue with the higher prices if the service was decent and I knew that higher price meant higher quality. Unfortunately, after multiple visits over the past few years this has never been the case.

Delicious sandwiches. They also have soups baked potatoes salads you name it. I was able to walk in and be served quickly. The atmosphere is very casual and you can make it quick or make it last longer!

Maybe I'm easy to impress, but I have to hand out 5 stars to the East Bay Deli. We were looking for a quick lunch spot in Charleston and my rule when out of town is to always eat somewhere that I cannot eat at home. They have a really large menu with all of the standard deli style sandwiches, wraps, some very interesting specialties as well as a big salad bar that looked super fresh. East Bay... You had me at Reuben! First thing I did was ask if they had Gluten Free bread and ordered up a yummy Reuben. They served it piled high with corned beef and fresh sauerkraut. It was perfect! Came with chips and a pickle. Totally hit the spot. The fam had a meatball sub and Jessica's club. They both loved them. The meatball sub had a delicious sauce and the bread was fresh. Im leaving wishin we had an East Bay back home! This is definitely a 5 star lunch spot!

Quite possibly the most disgusting tuna melt I've ever had....the tuna salad was just gross...way too much mayo and they put boiled eggs in it. The mushroom soup was good The simple baked potato.....eh...I think they didn't microwave it long enough...it was obviously not baked in a conventional oven. I will say that I did order for delivery and it was nice that they didn't forget any of the utensils

This was a big winner for our family. The menu is immense. The kid's cheese quesadilla was a hit; so was the kid's pizza. The tomato sauce on the pizza was better than some pizza joints. The Mushroom & Brie soup was top notch. The Mexicali potato was immense...and even better the next day. People with us had a tuna sandwich and they liked it. We plan on returning. Overall: highly recommend

Not happy at all. They offered us alternatives, and never informed us about the up charges. Food was very mediocre. Staff was not very friendly at all. Not sure how this place was voted the best deli in Charlston.

Insanely rude girls working today! Took 30 minutes for our food! Not interested in returning to this location that's for sure.

It's unfortunate that the young lady who was in charge of last Thursday afternoon's shift lacked a great deal of couth, class and customer service skills when it came to negotiating a harmless error that one of her new staff made. The food was great (as always!). However there was an oversight made by the newby which could've easily been fixed: My friend + myself both ordered the half sandwich/salad bar combo which we learned after the fact includes only ONE trip/plate to the salad bar, even though my friend was accidentally given a second plate by the new staff member (oops!). When I went up asked for my new plate, the "manager" was very abrupt/flippant about it, refusing to give me a plate, but did make a rude reference to the employee being new and not knowing any better (very embarrassing for her and for me!). No worries, I said, left the counter area quietly... Even though this manager had been standing right there when our group had originally made $85 worth of food orders. We looked at our bill and realized that we were charged for 2 items we did not receive (bacon, cheese), one of our sandwiches was completely incorrect and that second salad plate? Was ironically TWICE the size of all the other ones. I think a few things could've been done differently. Our group consisted of 4 tourists and myself (I just moved to this awesome city). They enjoyed many other terrific venues, restaurants & people while here. I won't be going back to East Bay.

Food is great, and I'm in love with their marble cheesecake. I like it better at the restaurant than delivery. Customer service is always good.

As soon as I walked in, I knew it was a bad idea. I had seen this kind of restaurant before and fully expected disappointment. I ordered a hot dog and my bf ordered a patty melt. My hot dog was ok, toppings were gross(supposedly homemade chili and coleslaw; both of which tasted like they were from a can). My bf's patty on his patty melt was of thinner than a patty at McDonald's and somehow lower quality. Not sure how they managed to get lower than McDonalds's but they did... Overall, not worth my $20 for a quick dinner and I won't be going back.

Good food. Good atmosphere. Kid's meal same size as regular order. Good selection. Food arrived quickly and hot sandwiches were hot. Very similar to Mcalister's Deli. Great lunch place to leave room for Charleston's numerous dinner restauraunts.

I usually love East Bay Deli, but I normally go to the one down town. The service at this location was terrible. It took over 30 minutes for my food to come out. When my food finally came out it was disappointing. I usually get a turkey sandwich with avo, and they skimped on the avocado. It was a tiny smear of avocado, I couldn't even taste it. And their "kaiser roll" is apparently just a hamburger bun. The staff is rude, too. Won't be coming back.

I went to East Bay Deli on Friday night with my husband to grab a quick bite to eat before grocery shopping. After reading their website and hearing good things from neighbors, we wanted to try it out. We really liked it- they have a great salad bar and a pretty big menu with lots of options. It's a typical deli with soups and sandwiches, but the salad bar is a great addition that most delis don't have, and they also have desserts. I had a veggie sandwich on wheat, and it was huge and really good- very filling. My husband had a half sandwich and the salad bar (they have combos where you can get half sandwiches and soup, or half sandwiches and salad, etc- even though he got the salad bar, they still included potato chips with his sandwich). My only complaint is that you have to pay $1.15 extra for the "premium" chips (you get ruffles with your sandwich, but over $1 seemed a little pricey for an add-on) or other substitutions. The salad bar is definitely worth the trip- typical salad bar but lots of add-ons and tasty dressings, fruit, etc. We plan to return.
