We really enjoyed eating at this restaurant! The food was good and plentiful and the restaurant staff was very nice. I will put this restaurant on my list of favorites. We actually hit on a kids eat free night so that was even better!!! Give it a try!

Really great service here. Friendly and really helpful. I couldn't open one of the oysters that was part of the seafood buckets, and one of the waitresses offered to help. When I joked that they gave us a rock instead of an oyster, they offered to replace it! They have monthly specials. In September, you can get two entrees for $15 each. I got a crab duo, which includes a crab cake and a cluster of crab legs. Apparently, in the South, they put Cajun spices on the crab legs!? It adds a lot of flavor. The crab dip that came with checking in on yelp was not shabby for a crabby shack. The bucket in the middle of each table is for putting the shells. My mom got the grilled platter with grilled scallops, fish, and shrimp. Wow, the scallops were really fresh! I dipped them in the butter that came with my dish and it was really excellent. To finish off the meal, I got some peanuts to go. I thought Boston had the best seafood, but this place makes me question this notion. If I ever come visit, I would come again.

First time experiencing The Coosaw Creek Crab Shack. It was worth the trip and the bill to eat here. Started off with a free crab dip appetizer with the coupon got on Yelp when I checked in. After tasting the crab dip I would have paid for it. For the main course had the grilled seafood platter YUM. The scallops were excellently prepared. I would say they melted in my mouth. No rubber chewiness to them. The shrimp and salmon were good but I believe I'll be going back for the scallop dinner they were just that good. They lost a star on account did hear waitress say the she crab soup wasn't any good today. She did take charge off customers bill that sent soup back. Good to see them stand behind their food.

The free appetizer was ok. We ordered oysters, seafood platter, calabash baskets, shrimp and crab bucket and she crab soup. Food was good, but so far not our favorite. Great service!

The She Crab soup is the best. I never new Mussels could taste so good (Mussel Manigault-THE BEST). Roasted peanuts at the door always fresh.

Four+ stars for first visit!!! On a whim one evening we decided to go for dinner, not expecting much. Boy, were we happily surprised. We sat outside on the nice patio and had a great server, Melissa Lee, who was super patient and kind explaining and answering questions. She was quick to refill our drinks which we appreciated and helped with menu suggestions. We started with the Hushpuppies and loved the remoulade... so good! I went for the Snow Crab & Shrimp bucket (first time with crab claws) and ate every morsel in front of me. Melissa helped me with tips on cracking the shell to get that extra meat! My husband went with the Carolina Crab Cakes and cleaned his plate. We are very much looking forward to returning for another fine meal! I've been craving those crab legs!!!

The Crab Shack is my go to seafood place when I visit Charleston. I love getting the seafood buckets and oyster shooters. Everything is pretty reasonably priced for a seafood joint. During my last visit our waitress Jenny Bayer was super and friendly and attentive. She had some great drink recommendations.

As someone previously stated they don't clean their shrimp they also had a strange aftertaste. Veggie of the day was some zucchini and yellow squash that was cooked to death with zero seasoning. Even their hot sauce had no heat. From the sounds of it this place needs a new chef with new recipes. Too bad we like the trivia but all I would eat there is maybe the fries or fried mozzarella.

Great service-our waitress was as sweet as can be! Quick and helpful too. The food was pretty good. Hush puppies were awesome-can't go wrong ordering those. We also had the crab leg bucket that was a special for $19.99 and they were great. Peel and eat shrimp were large-impressed with the size. Could have used more spice but I just added some old bay and it was fine. (Were from Maryland so we love Lots of Old Bay!). Clean and perfect for our loud 10 month old

Food was good and quick. Grilled shrimp and scallops. Shrimp crab bucket. Definitely will be back.

The food was really good, the only reason for giving a 4 star was due to my cocktail drink was weak and tasted like water, no alcohol at all.

What a pleasant surprise! The food was way better than we expected. Generous portions and great service from our waitress, Alexis. We especially enjoyed the crab balls and fried green tomatoes as appetizers. We'll be back for sure!

This place was a huge disappointment. I was planning on having one last "Charleston" seafood meal before leaving the next morning. Two of us ordered the $30 bucket of steamed crab, oysters & shrimp. The crab was frostbitten & the oysters over cooked. The accompanying corn was soggy & there were literally two 1/4" slices of sausage. As for the serving size, I'm not too upset that it wasn't huge. I'd have been cool with that if the food hadn't sucked. One star for cold beer & the waitress was nice. I actually feel for the wait staff, it can't be easy to serve that food. Oh, I rarely leave bad reviews, so consider this a public service announcement.

The service was great. We sat at the bar where Holly helped us. She was very friendly and answered all our questions about the menu. The food was good, especially the crab dip! We would definitely go back and recommend it!

The food was great. And Chelsea, our server was very personable and helpful. I only deduct one star for the the lack of scallops. I wish there were more.

The whole family was very pleased with their meal! I went in without any expectations - had not been in years. The fried scallops and grilled shrimp were fantastic. Perfectly cooked and flavorful. The fried oysters were great as well and they arent even in season yet. Large portions and pleasant service. I will definitely be back and with high expectations :).

Thursday night all you can eat crab legs: tasty! Good seasoning, and fast service. Calamari appetizer was crunchy and satisfying. Kid friendly restaurant. Would be 5 stars but prices were a little high for the food. Our server Chelsea was awesome!

We enjoyed our lunch. We both had the fried flounder. It's always good. Our waitress Chelsea was very attentive and friendly. We definitely will be back .

Worst food ever! I had the fried flounder and shrimp with collard greens and red rice. The red rice was not cooked entirely so it was raw, the shrimp was not deveined so be prepared to eat grainy shrimp poop, no flavor on the flounder, collard greens were tasteless. It was so horrible. My husband couldn't even open his oysters. We both feel ripped off and greasy.

This was the worst place, I ordered the shrimp manigault, it was awful, I couldn't even eat it and then everything is over priced. Would not recommend to anyone.

There was a group of 5 of us in town for business and we were craving some good seafood away from all the tourists and the associated prices!! This place was recommended form a local person in the office we were working at, and insisted that we had to try it... so we did. When I arrived, it defiantly seem local, rather than some big chain, which is exactly what I prefer... Then I discovered they had a Yelp check-in special... a FREE Crab Dip, so of course I started with that!! It was .... ok... not bad, but glad it was free. Then ordered a small crab cake... and it too was just ok, not bad, but not great either... just ok. Then for my entree, I had the shrimp and grits. And once again it was just ... ok. WAY to much cheese for shrimp or grits... and for me to say that (I'm a cheese fiend!!). I have definitely had better. It wasn't bad, just ok. Our server was great. Very friendly and sweet. Answered all our questions about their menu (we had a lot). She kept all of our drinks refilled... we never wanted for anything. All in all, everything was A-OK... hence the 3 stars...

Horrible service, low quality food, overpriced. With so many other seafood options...don't settle for below-average, visit somewhere else.

Very slow service, but the food was decent. The lowcountry shrimp and grits were damn good.

We came here for their all-you-can-eat crab legs and I'm surprised at the size of their crab legs. Some places have these rinky-dink legs, but most of ours were plump and juicy! I ate mine without any cocktail sauce or butter and was surprised at how well they tasted just plain. I prefer my own homemade sauce with seafood, so I was a bit hesitant to get the all-you-can-eat legs. But I can tell you I didn't regret it. The price was just a little bit higher than other places, but if you factor in the price of gas nowadays, it's definitely worth the difference. Our waitress was really good at keeping up with our orders. There was only one time where I actually had to sit and wait for my next batch, but by then, I needed a little breather anyway. =D

The friends that we dined with are regulars and live in the area. They mentioned that the place is a "roll of the dice" kind of establishment, and on any given night, the food/service could suck, or be great. My choice on the menu was their Folly River Flounder and it was great. I can't remember when I've had better (fried) seafood. I tried their collards and was surprised how sweet they were. Too much sugar for my taste but they were still good. in my opinion, any restaurant that serves collards, can't be all bad.

Food was your average chain restaurant type quality. Crab ball appetizer was very good and so were the hush puppies. Our waitress was a little on the ditzy side and kept telling us her life story but overall was attentive and kept my drink full. I would go to a more local friendly spot next time.
