This is definitely a nice change from the typical Charleston new restaurant. Went for brunch - the decor and atmosphere is so nice and open. Had the oysters to start - they were great - but 4 Carolina Cups @ $14 isn't worth it. Those are small oysters and at that price you could do Chesapeake selects. Had a special steak and egg entrée, which was wonderful despite never being asked how I wanted it cooked (was a tad too medium for me). I want to go back for dinner - hope they do well in that area. Parking would be an issue at night given the area. Dainty portions at a premium is my only negative.

Great food, great service, incredible atmosphere in an unexpected area of town. Great place for groups.

My husband & I went there April 2015. We both had the fish. It was perfectly seasoned & delivered to our table piping hot. We loved it. The portions were small though. The service was very good. When we first arrived we did have to ask twice before they seated us at a better table despite the restaurant being less than one third full. They first seated us at a table in the center of the room with traffic running back & forth on both sides and small, uncomfortable little chairs. The space is beautiful , the food was very good and the service was very good. Be sure to go see the courtyard before you leave. I would love to eat out there in good weather . We will go back.

This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I've been to Charleston! Great re-do of an old building. Fabulous! That was the best part of the experience. The beet salad for $12 was about 5 bites. The ravioli app for $15, while very tasty, consisted of one giant ravioli. The chocolate pudding in a small glass glass was just that...chocolate pudding...it had a bite to it but other than that just ok. The pound cake was about the size of a large mini muffin. Both desserts overpriced. The main course for $34 of beef medallions....well I split it and we each had two small pieces of beef, about 5-6 green beans to split and a small spread of mashed potatoes. There was very little value on the dishes. All dishes we delightful and bursting w flavor....except the chocolate pudding. We had a table of 7 and we were only afforded 2 menus for the table. I'd be will to try again but lower the prices or increase the servings. I left hungry.

5 stars for fabulous environment! Our dinner was fresh, creative & beautifully presented. Not too many choices & a bit pricey, but service was excellent. The wine list was uninspiring for such a sophisticated restaurant. Nevertheless, given previous reviews, it appears that the owners/chef are evolving & open to suggestions for improvement. All in all a lovely experience. Ps we appreciate the valet!

This is one of the coolest dining rooms I have ever eaten in. The service was excellent and the food and drinks were great. I recommend picking up your drink and wandering the grounds to check out the party areas if they aren't too busy. You can tell that a lot of time was spent designing this spectacular space. Well done and very impressed that they invested so heavily in a neighborhood clearly on the rise.

Just home from an amazing dinner at Cannon Green. The ambiance is great, though a little loud. (That is my only complaint) The menu, though small, has something for every taste. The four of us had a different first and second course. Fun tasting all of the choices. The service was excellent and we were fortunate enough to have Alli as our server. Her suggestions were spot on an her service impeccable. Kudos to the owners and the chef and Alli for making our first visit a shear delight. Food masterfully prepares and beautifully presented. Thanks Cannon Green

Beautiful space in a trendy area of town. Amazing renovation and build out. It's spectacular what $$$ can do to a space. Food was clean, delicious, and perfectly cooked. Modern presentations and small portion size, which was refreshing. A bit expensive, but something has to pay for the beautiful space! The only negatives we have come from our 15 years in the business. Nothing major, and we've already written the owners. Both have to do with basic customer service that would cause many to never return. But we get it, so no worries. UPDATE: Received fantastic response from owners regarding minor issues...will be back soon!

The service is EXCEPTIONAL! The ambiance is perfect. The space is gorgeous. The food is decent. The parking is horrible. That in a nut shell is the good, bad, & ugly of it all. The specialty cocktails are super strong, you will feel like a dragon. We had 2 appetizers which were ok but not memorable (literally I can't remember what they were)! We split a main entree of beef medallions with potatoes, & a mushroom sauce. I did't realize when I ordered that the beef cut into medallions. I like my breed in one hunk not precut before it reaches the table. Only because it comes out over cooked which is exactly what happened. For 2 speciality cocktails, 2 appetizers, & 1 entree the bill was well over $100. I don't mind paying if the food is the star of the show, but that was not the case. There are just too many outstanding fine dinning establishments in Charleston for this to be in contention.

The Brasstown Beef Medallion changed my life. Classiest joint in the city. Friendly staff too.

Noisy. Overpriced. Limited menu. Uncomfortable seating. Average food. It's really a wedding/event space posing as an upscale restaurant. Much better choices in Charleston.

Have visited Cannon Green for both dinner and a courtyard event. My husband and I enjoyed both greatly. Service was extremely attentive both times, and the food was delicious. Chef Amalia has composed a clean and balanced menu, which is a great addition to the local scene. We enjoyed everything we ordered off all three of the menu sections. Cocktail and wine selection were comprehensive, and the bartenders were fun and knowledgeable in discussing. Space is gorgeous - great for an enjoyable dinner or gorgeous event. Looking forward to trying brunch next!

Went to Cannon Green last night for dinner and it was great! No complaints. I was a little suspicious that it's so new and yet EVERY review so far has been 5 stars. A little curious... But I liked it! The buildout is AMAZING it is an absolutely gorgeous space. The main area of the restaurant is open and elegant and an old preserved side of a house serves as a side wall (or it's probably a replica--I don't care it's pretty). I took a walk around and the bar area is nice, there's a cool large party seating area literally OVER the bar, and the outdoor courtyard is beautiful. Our waiter was telling us about the event space in the back and how there is a separate entrance through the restaurant to the courtyard and event space, so that event guests aren't walking through everyone's dinner. So anyway, gorgeous space. Four of us went on a Thursday night and had an 8:15 reservation, but we were running late so they let us come in at 8:45 no problem. It was pretty empty at that point. The hostess and the servers were great. We really enjoyed the food! Shared a cheese plate and the chicken liver pate to start. The cheese plate was good but it didn't have a TON of cheese on it--only 2 cheese selections but a ton of delicious accompaniments like homemade apple butter, honeycomb and these addictive pecans. The pate was really good. A good sized serving for 4-6 and it's served covered in a red wine jelly with house made pickles and crostini. Really good. Our waiter also showed us a photo of a massive charcuterie board they served for a recent event and it looked so amazing. I got the root vegetable bisque which was really tasty. Very creamy and served with crispy pumpkin seeds. I was looking for something a little lighter and should have gotten a salad instead (had some bites of the gem lettuce salad which was yummy) but I guess I should have known that ordering a bisque. Then I got a small plate of the oysters served baked with cheesy goodness and kale. They were great but rich. Others at the table ordered the beef carpaccio, stuffed quail (SO good) and curried quinoa (which was really good and you can ask for more or less spicy). Overall had a nice night! They have a good wine list too. And it's so gorgeous... I want to host a big event just to have it there!

My husband and I joined our friends at this new establishment. Unfortunately, got their before the valet, even though they were open. We could not find their parking lot but got a close space. It's a beautiful facility and very ornate but just doesn't seem to be run by proffesionals. At the bar, the bartender must have been in a fowl mood or just the fact that my friend ordered a raspberry and vodka really insulted her, as we were made clear they had no flavor vodkas. She did not offer alternatives but we ended up Getting a cocktail Off the menu and they were good but some seemed too similar to each other. The hostess was extremely friendly and asked if we would like to be seated and we had a lovely table. Although we loved where we were sitting, the chairs are extremely uncomfortable and are generally what you sit on outdoors in a garden. Our server was very knowledgable and prompt and was able to guide us through the menu seemlessly. All of the food we ordered was fantastic, we just loved the oysters, kale salad, and tuna. My friends steak was underdone and sent back...our waiter was prompt in telling us it would be taken care of, it came back underdone again! This time we wanted to see the manager, only to find out it was the woman drinking wine at the bar since we walked in! We were definately surprised. Clearly getting drunk while your staff works hard is acceptable there. She was not very friendly although apologized for the problem but after waiting forever and the fact that she was inebriated infuriated us. They did take it off the bill. Something is truly amiss there, the staff seems pretentious minus the servers and clearly not qualified. It's too bad it's a gorgeous space and the food has great potential!

Delicious food, fantastic company and great service. We had a table of six and felt like we we're the only table in a busy restaurant. Outside of the atmosphere, the food was superb we could not get enough of the shrimp escabeche! It's off the beaten path, but worth discovering. Can't wait to go back and try more!

The place IS beautiful - so different from anything else in Charleston. We loved the ambiance and decor. Our service was poor though, and sadly that overshadowed a lot of our experience. I have never given a negative review but this spurred me. We had a reservation, and got a wonderful seat with couches. However, it took 10 minutes for anyone to bring water or ask about wine. Our server had minimal things to say about the menu, or items we asked about when ordering. Then it took 45 minutes to get our first course, but were never checked on while waiting, or told in the interim that it was coming shortly - nothing. When asking our server about desserts, he simply grabbed a menu and read the description we saw previously -- not suggesting a favorite, or expounding, or really even encouraging us to order. The icing on the cake was when he brought our bill, he turned his back to our table, continuing a conversation with the table next to us, and with his back still to us placed the bill on the table and never said anything. Not thank you, not hope you enjoyed it, nothing. It was insulting and rude! The food was divine, with the exception of the Cioppino (which is misspelled on the menu, by the way). Our server suggested this as a star entree. Instead of a broth (per the menu and every cioppino I've ever had) it was a thick tomato sauce... that tasted like canned Chef Boyardee. It was just not good. However-- we were never asked how our entrees were, so we never commented. The brussels sprouts were delicious and innovative, the vegetable bisque was stellar, and the kale salad was heaping and very tasty. My raviolo with duck egg was rich and amazing, and the tilefish was perfect. I would order everything again, minus the cioppino. We were the last people in there on a Thursday night at 9:55. Odd feeling for Charleston.

I'm not sure what's more beautiful about this place- the decor or the food! I went here for my birthday brunch yesterday and had an amazing time. The transformation that they did to this building is absolutely superb. It was easy to make a reservation for our group, the service was outstanding and the food...ohhh...yeeeaaaah. So good! I can't get over what a pretty place this is. The natural light coming in through the sky lights and the windows makes it a fun and happy place to brunch. You walk in and immediately feel transported to a lighter place. The food makes you feel almost the same way. Dishes that you would normally think would be heavy, are light and delicate, letting the natural flavors shine through in all the foods. I loved my buttermilk fried quail but the poached duck egg on grits that the boyfriend got was the best dish at the table. The strawberry salad, chicken pate and chocolate chip scones with honey-butter were a great way to start off the morning. The staff was very accommodating and let us look over the event space before we left. I would definitely recommend this to any friend or family that is looking to celebrate an event- wedding, birthday, anniversary, corporate party; it's so lovely. I would give it 6 stars if I could!

Let me start off by saying this is an absolutely gorgeous space. It's definitely some of the best theming & restaurant decor I've ever seen. I've now gotten to experience Cannon Green for both dinner & brunch and besides the atmosphere, I end up leaving a bit underwhelmed. The food is good but somehow doesn't reach greatness. And for that price point, I want my tastebuds to be wowed. The service both times has lagged just enough to be noticeable especially for a high end restaurant. So for now, I may just stick to drinks at the bar and impeccably designed eye candy.

I wanted to like this restaurant so bad. Right off the bat I was Carrie Underwooded... you know, blown away (people say that, right?). It is a beautiful space. It's honestly one of the most gorgeous restaurants I've been to in Charleston. Unfortunately that's where everything positive comes to a screeching halt. The food was mediocre at best. Their dinner menu was very underwhelming and (in my opinion) over priced for what you actually get. I am so sad that this was such a negative experience. I must reiterate... the restaurant is crazy beautiful but I don't think I will have dinner here again. I could see myself grabbing drinks here but not much else.

This restaurant is gorgeous. Try to come before the sun sets to see the lighting on the beautiful artwork and setting. So nice that its where we bring our parents when they are in town to show off the beautiful ambiance. The food was delicious and creative. Loved the menu. Was hard to decide between the dishes! Highly recommend!

Wow. First. The atmosphere and restaurant are absolutely gorgeous. We could not stop staring in awe when we were sat at our table. We arrived an hour earlier than our reservations, thinking we would be seated at the bar until then. They had a table available at that time and sat us right away. They were very accommodating with us arriving early. The hostess was very nice. Upon being seated we were given water and they made sure we were comfortable in our area before going forward with ordering. (We were!) We ordered drinks from the cocktail menu- each interesting and intriguing sounding with the ingredients in them. I had the Kracken Punch (rum!) and others at the table had the gin cocktail, a vodka cocktail and I can't remember the fourth! We ordered our first course and entrees at the same time. The chef likes for it all to come back at the same time- in one order. We had someone in our party with a dietary restriction (vegan) and that was not a problem for the restaurant at all! The chef prepared her a beautiful vegetable plate with a pesto. For our first course, I ordered the strawberry salad and for the second course I had the chicken plate. Others at the table had the raviolo, chilled fava bean soup, yellowfin tuna and beef medallions. Each plate was beautifully executed and tasted like absolute perfection. The cheese on the salad was so fresh, the other ingredients tasted just as good and together they were heaven. The proteins in each of our meal were cooked exactly as described and melted in your mouth. The flavors together in each meal were fantastic. The size of the plates are a bit small for the prices, which is why I docked a star. I would give them four and a half if I could! I highly highly highly recommend this place for anyone celebrating (we went for the beginning of bachelorette celebration weekend!), looking for a nice date night out or something a little "off the grid" for the main drag in Charleston. Def go try it out!

Elegant, attentive staff, pricey. Parking is an issue until you know that they have a parking area around the corner, in back of the establishment. I had the Cioppino, great, could have been more. My wife had the chicken, also great, but not enough. Why 5 stars then, well it is a great place, a must try, great on the eyes, beautiful yard, and high end. You must try it. Frank G

Was looking for somewhere to go for dinner tonight and stumbled upon this gem. I was worried we would get bad service as we were pretty under dressed but were pleasantly surprised to get impeccable service from our waiter Kevin. Kevin's descriptions of the menu and recommendations were on point the entire night. I rarely find restaurants where I really enjoy every course and now Cannon Green has joined the ranks! My date and I shared a couple appetizers, an entree, and a dessert. We started off with a new item not yet on the menu - a large ravioli stuffed with a shredded beef and an over easy duck egg. It blew my mind - so delicious! We then had the brussel sprouts appetizer, also very good. For the entree we had the Tilefish. I loved the browned butter and balsamic combo on the mushrooms. The fish was also cooked perfectly with a crisp exterior and flaky interior. Lastly, for our dessert we shared the Mexican Pot de Creme which was fabulous! Decadent with a hint of spice! I would definitely return!

This place was very swanky and nice. It's almost like a hidden pocket in downtown. From looking from the outside, you'd never know they had a nice patio and an even nice banquet hall. The food was tasty and the wait staff was attentive. Reason I didn't give it a 5 was because I asked for no mushrooms and still got them. Oh well! The shrimp ceviche first course was really good. We skipped on dessert, but would consider trying something next time. Would recommend this place if you're in the area. It's new and does take reservations. Remember to dress up! This isn't shorts and sandals place Enjoy!

Giving it fours stars due to less than stellar service. Our group had several entrees, all were excellent. The food is described as southern with a Mediterranean flare, as the chef was trained in Florence Italy. Seafood was very fresh and cooked only to the minimum, so if you like it cooked more thoroughly be sure to specify. Lastly the newly decorated space is beautiful. They did a great job with the main dining area, the courtyard, and the private room at the end of the courtyard. I will not be surprised to see that become a popular place to rent out for parties and special occasions.

This place was by far the most disappointing Charleston dining experience I've ever had. Luckily, I've rarely been disappointed with Charleston dining (seriously, check out my review distribution - the vast majority are 4 or 5 stars!) I went with a group of 5 for Sunday brunch. The best of the food we got was only good. Most was horribly bland. Service was very inattentive and the restaurant was less than 1/3 full with at least 6 servers to handle the ten or so tables. Despite this, waters and teas went un-refilled and our check took about 20 minutes to get, even with our credit cards sitting out on the table. The menu only had about 10-12 things on it and they were out of my first two choices. Add to the mix that I'm a vegetarian and only 2-3 of the menu items were vegetarian friendly, it left me stuck. Luckily, I double checked that everything on my order was meat free because the asparagus and manchego omelet came with ham in it, but that fact was not included on the menu. I ordered a drink and the waiter flat out said that that drink isn't good and not to order it. When the food came out, the guy delivering it couldn't remember the name of the dish he was delivering (remember - there's only like 10 things on the whole menu). Two people in our group got the crab cakes, both orders had the bottom of the cake burnt, one order was horribly black burnt. We had to ask for extra sauces from other dishes to add flavor to our main dishes, because there wasn't any. The venue is gorgeous - it's a really cool layout, very clean and modern, with a nice atmosphere, but the food and service don't rise up to the surroundings or the price tag. I had really high hopes going in, especially bringing guests from out of town, but left really disappointed.

WOW. What a beautiful place. If you are looking for a special place to go out for dinner this is your spot. As soon as you enter you get the WOW factor. The interior design is hip trendy open & makes one immediately feel this is going to be a special night. The food was outstanding. Hard to choose a dish. We all got different appetizers & different main courses. I'm not going to bore you with the details but let me just say every dish was outstanding. We also brought 2 bottles of wine & had a $25 corkage fee each. A good deal. I loved it. A must try for that special occasion. Will definitely return.

Even though I had seen posts on line that spoke to how pretty Cannon Green's was, I was still surprised. We were met with a warm welcome from the hostesses; very high ceilings and a contemporary, yet warm feel to the restaurant. As we were waiting for our server and looking around we noticed that there was a large outdoor courtyard that we would need to explore. And then, I looked up and there was the front of a house right in front of me. For a moment I thought it was an optical illusion. It's literally an 1840's Charleston single home façade that has been restored and lines an entire wall of the restaurant. The odd thing is that it's subtle. My husband did not have the vantage point that I did and if I hadn't pointed it out, I don't know if he would have noticed it. As you make your way up one of the two staircases the front door is also the gateway to the restrooms and kitchen. Isn't that clever? Our server took our beverage order and we were encouraged to tour the outdoor courtyard. Cannon Green is set up to host weddings/functions for up to 200 people. The palm tree lined courtyard with its hushed water features is striking. The Old Trolley Warehouse, which is its adjoining building, also completely refurbished, would be a lovely venue for any event. When we returned we began to peruse the menu. It's made up of the usual Charleston suspects: charcuterie, pate and cheeses and then lists their "provisions" in a very unique way. "Garden", "Water" and "Pasture" are the menu headings. In each section there are 4-5 items, some tapas like and a few that are entrees. We chose several small items to sample. The Brussels Sprouts are a dish you must try. Roasted sprouts in a small casserole with spearmint, caramelized orange, garlic aioli and pomegranate seeds that are put in at the last minute to, as the server told us, "add flavor and pop". The melding of tastes was delicious. The Baby Beets Salad - yellow beets, prosciutto, toasted hazelnut ubriaco cheese nestled on herb pesto was not only beautifully plated, but heavenly. Who knew that beets and Brussels Sprouts could be such a palate pleaser? My husband's Grass-Fed Beef Carpaccio was the best he's ever eaten. This is no small feat as he had held up Bonaratti's (a restaurant in Virginina), Carpaccio as the one to beat for the last 20 years... My Little Gems Lettuce, although tasty, fell into the category - with so many unique items on the menu, what was I thinking? For my entrée I chose one of the newer dishes on the menu (as per our server), the Cioppino. He described it as a San Francisco style stew created back in the day when fishermen "chipped in" items of the day and collectively made a stew. It was a delicate dish with a nice piece of flounder, a few clams and fennel in a light tomato broth. Although good-tasting it was tepid at best, which I felt took away from the dish. The Carolina Calico Ceviche was an over-the-top beautiful presentation of avocado, Jicama, radish, jalapeno, grapefruit and crispy yucca. A true fan favorite at the table. The Raviolio (sic) was described as house made thin pasta encasing a small duck egg. It was to sit on a light sauce and when you cut into it - bam! The egg would cascade into the dish. This sounded sexy but didn't deliver. There was no sauce, the egg was over cooked and although also tasty, this dish did not live up to the duck egg explosion promise. The Cox Farms Beef Medallions were served with grilled trumpet mushrooms atop of Chimmichuri and topped with pine nuts. A beautiful, savory dish that could have used a better cut of meat. Just sayin'. The portions at Cannon Green aren't over the top so we decided to sample two of their desserts - the Meyer Lemon & Olive Oil Cake and the Mexican Chocolate Pot de Crème. The Chocolate Pot was an ever-so-delicate mousse with Guajilo chili, hazelnut crunch and mascarpone. It was fabulous. So was the Cake, served with thyme gelato and a vin santo reduction. Classically Italian trained chef Amalia Scatena and the Cannon Green owners have a big win on their hands. As they continue to hone and develop the menu offerings and their delivery, rest assured that you are in great hands with the service team in the restaurant. Our server was quite possibly one of the best we've ever had in Charleston.

Dined here a few nights ago at a private chef's table for a bachelorette celebration. The evening started with drinks and cocktails. Every one of us was happy with our order. The bartender knows what he's doing and created some delicious and unique things. All the food was really fresh, light, and delicious. This chef even convinced me to enjoy raw tomatoes (historically not one of my favorites) with their heirloom tomato salad. Another highlight was the Mexican chocolate pots de creme for dessert. My one complaint is that the servers moved through our four course meal rather quickly, bringing the next thing out at soon as we finished with the last. At a private chef's table, I'm not sure what the rush was about. But overall, great service, delicious food, and a really refreshing and modern atmosphere.

I have to agree that the ambiance is spectacular. All the details are just beautifully done. And our service was great from the beginning. We are the exception and like an early meal. Arriving at 5:15 made no need for a reservation. From the water glasses to the fresh flower arrangements to the tapenade served pre meal just exquisite. Our waiter was great explaining the menu. Our luck could not have been better. The items we craved were on restaurant week's special menu. With two appetizer options and 2 entrees we were able to get it all and share it all. The menu offered their Root Vegetable Bisque which in hindsight may have been our favorite part. Not to take away from the salad as it was perfect and the apple slices and parmigiana with a perfect vinaigrette made this is real treat. The entrees arrived right on time and the Quail was my favorite. Great sauce and no bones to deal with. Just melted in my mouth. The Tile fish was cooked perfectly and we loved although found the sauce a little overpowering but just used less of it. Not only did we save a few bucks with the restaurant week special, it also included a dessert to share. A pot of chocolate and Creme with a great crunchy sprinkling on top. Tres bien!!! This new place is a super romantic spot. Glad to be able to experience it and will be back.

Our server, Allison, was phenomenal. All food items--cocktails, first courses, second courses, and desserts--were absolutely delicious. The ambiance and style of the restaurant and courtyard were modern, clean, spacious, and fun. I greatly appreciated the valet service. Cannon Green is now on my list of top restaurants in Charleston. I look forward to visiting again!

FOOD POISONING! I'm giving this one star because the app doesn't have a "0" option. Knowing I would have a big dinner, I didn't eat lunch. After dinner at Cannon Green, I got sick. The next day, I was in Urgent Care with wicked food poisoning. I was't the only one from my group to get sick. Go somewhere else.

I have been to Cannon Green twice, once for brunch and once for dinner. Both times the food was superb and the service was excellent. The ambiance is spectacular both during the day and at night. For brunch I ordered the shrimp escabeche, chilaquiles and pots de creme . My friend had the root vegetable bisque and croque monsieur. The shrimp escabeche was my overall favorite, but I would order any of the dishes again. Everything was incredibly flavorful and made with fresh ingredients. For dinner a friend and I shared the brussels sprouts, red snapper crudo and pear tortellini. All three were excellent, but the red snapper crudo and pear tortellini were the standouts for me. Both times the service was incredible and the waiters were very knowledgeable about the food and drink menus. I had wine with dinner and one of the signature cocktails for brunch and both were awesome. I really don't have any complaints about Cannon Green- if you made me have one it would be that I wish the portions had been larger. It's a large restaurant and would be great for groups, but at the same time the ambiance lends itself to a romantic date night. I can't wait to go back again and again.

The summer Latin brunch is incredible. The Mayan pork shoulder with sweet potato hash is a must try. We started with the heirloom tomatoes, grilled peaches and burrata. Steak and eggs was just OK.

To be completely transparent, we didn't eat even though we had every intention of doing so. When we arrived the space was simply spectacular and really has so much personality, well done! I often choose my wine before my meal and when we go the wine list it was so disappointing, to the point that I looked around thinking, are they serious? The menu was equally lackluster. If you are going to be "mediterranean" then you might want to have some dishes that represent that well, it was just overpriced and felt very pretentious. I love ZeroGeorge and equally don't love their wine list (which is extacly that same at Cannon Green) which again tells me that this is a group trying to make a formula for a spot that has SO MUCH POTENTIAL. PLEASE do better or at least make it seem like you are trying and not doing subpar dishes for $28-32 per plate. So, we left. Not worth it.

This place is great. Really cool interior, very clean and well done. Had reservations and was seated right away. The staff was very helpful and polite. Farm to table is getting more popular in charleston and it's even better here. The menu was exceptional. We loved every dish and with all the drinks, wine, food and dessert we had the price was fairly reasonable. I will for sure go back again. You know the meal was good when you think about it the next day.

What an architectural triumph this new restaurant in Upper King is! Food is incredible and the atmosphere is to die for in any size group be it date-night or large gaggles. Cannon Green is led by a fearless, classically trained Italian female chef by the name of Amalia Scatena. Every dish is an art form to the eye, but also has an element of simplicity about it which makes it equally familiar as it is daring. She weaves in traditional Florentine sensibilities with a southern fair. Of particular note is the cooked oysters with sautéed kale, and parmesan cheese. The place is also a treat to dine in, check out the back atrium there which is new and can be rented out for events (wedding, receptions, etc). Most recently, there was a Charleston Bridal Fashion show held in this place and it looked incredible. Inside, there is a facade of a 1800s Charleston single house with stairs that lead to the restaurant's bathroom. Though a facade, it is 100% authentic reclaimed wood from an actual house in town and nods to the space's past as a fine art gallery. This is a MUST see restaurant, highly recommend.

I loved this on Mothers Day for brunch. gorgeous restaurant. We had several salads, including the beet and the strawberry. Both were fabulous. The egg dishes , quail, lavender French toast, and crab sliders were great. One odd thing was the fried green tomatoes, served as a side, had no sauce. Just dry. I asked for something to go with it and they sent salsa verde. Not sure why it didn't have a sauce in the first place. The bloody Mary's were good, The kids table did not have much selection. Just eggs, potatoes, and fruit. A few more choices would have been good. Overall, we really liked this place and will return.

My first negative review...but it wasn't because of food! Very swanky restaurant in an unexpected area of town. I think they are just new and trying to get the kinks out...but need to do so soon. However, the service was my issue. I walked out of dinner with such a sour taste in my mouth that i felt inclined to call the manager to explain- the problem was...the manager was the person that was so rude to us! We had one young lady charged for a glass of champagne she did not drink. We asked the wait staff to have the bill adjusted. The manager came back to our table and literally said, 'you ladies realize this has to be paid for". Perhaps there was a disconnect between what our server explained to the manager...but Come on! It was her tone. She dropped the ball. She said it wrong and she said it sassy!!! We were never stating we didn't want to pay for it- we just asked for it to be charged to the correct person. I felt like she was accusing us of trying to cheat them or something- just an uncomfortable situation. To preface- this restaurant is zoned in a residential section of town- therefore they must close down and have all occupants out of the restaurant prior to 11pm or they will get fined by the city. My suggestion would be to not make a reservation after 8pm if you don't want to feel rushed. The service was slow. We sat down at 8:30pm. Now granted we had drinks etc. but they did not take our food order until at least 9:15. Food was amazing- not the problem! We were waiting for our friend to return from the bathroom (time right before closing) and the manager literally put her hand on our backs, escorted us to the door, and asked us to be on our way. She did kindly explain her reasoning- but when i'm dropping $80 on dinner for myself for dinner/drinks I don't want to feel rushed!!! If I could, I would give the food 5 stars and to be honest, the atmosphere was incredible. Plates are very small. I wouldn't suggest this place for men that expect heavy filling meals. The portions are very delicate...but yummy!

Probably the most spectacular interior in any restaurant in Charleston. Great flavors, great ambiance. Great place.

This space is absolutely beautiful. It was modern, organic, and just gorgeous. The food was great, the drinks were great, and our waiter was great. Definitely worth going.
