I had the burger with pimento cheese and bacon, it was absolutely awesome. We did some oyster shooters, they were absolutely interesting. We (8 guys) were all satisfied with the food and service. I would definitely recommend.

Found Aw Shucks by accident since 167 Raw was packed out. Big place with lots of seating at the bar. Ordered blue point oysters and grilled mahi tacos. The oysters were perfect and I was very happy with the tacos, too. Danielle, my bartender, excels at her job as she easily took care of everyone's needs. My only criticism is the abundance of fried, bar-type entrées on the menu. Since I prefer seafood either raw, poached, or grilled the bulk of the menu did not appeal to me. Lots of families and small groups. Easy in/out experience.

We were unsure of how good this place would be as it looked quite touristy, however, it ended up being the best food we had during our stay in Charleston. The raw oysters were solid, and the steamer was good, even though the mussels and clams were a bit overdone. The shrimp, however, was some of the best we have ever had.

Not thoroughly impressed. The crab dip was ok and the fish tacos weren't impressive. Nice outdoor patio and music.

Great food and service! We sat outside with the pup (yah seating where dogs are allowed!). Eric gave us wonderful service and certainly knew his oysters. My parents say they will be back for the she crab soup and hush puppies.

I never write Yelp review but between our server Corey being the best server I've had in years and the food being beyond incredible I simply had to. The Hush puppies, curry muscles and southern seafood paella will make you have wet dreams about them for months. Can't wait to come back!

Awesome atmosphere, and the food was delish at a good price. The praline hushpuppies were amazing, a must have when coming here!

Service was ok, a bit slow and not very attentive but very friendly. Food was mediocre. I ordered the fried oysters. They are big and about 3/4 of my order was crispy. The ambiance was nice we sat outside on the deck portion. Music could have been a little softer but not a huge issue. Seafood casserole was good as well as the peas and red rice. I wasn't a fan of the Bleu cheese Cole slaw but it could be your thing. Stinky cheese and cabbage just don't mix in my mind. The french Fries had some sort of batter on them to make them crispy. They were pretty good. We also ordered an appetizer of fried green tomatoes, they didn't have much flavor but they were crunchy! I would say it is an ok spot. Menu had a decent amount of options.

We were in town celebrating our 22nd anniversary and were not familiar with the local restaurants. Having lived in New Orleans, Orlando, DC and other tourist destinations we are typically hesitant to eat in the well advertised joints, but we took a chance on this one because of the great comments. We were greeted by Zorb, who was charming, conversational (but not overly) and informative. My wife ended up with gumbo (not typical but delicious and FULL of fresh seafood) that was absolutely delicious. So much flavor and incredibly filling. I had the shrimp and grits. There was a little more gravy than I was used to, but it worked and the flavor was outstanding. Zorb's recommendations were spot on and he even guided us to some great beach spots that we hit the next day. This is what southern hospitality is all about. A+ service for Zorb and A+ for food. Great spot!!

First time we have eaten here, chicken dinner great, the sea food pot was ok due to the lobster being very dry, so should just get the crab legs they were done just right.

I never review restaurants but I have to say, this place is really great. Excellent seafood and appetizers, great service (thanks Mia!) and a solid alcohol selection. We tried almost all of the apps, and a handful of the entrees...all delish. If you want some good, fresh and tasty seafood, go here!

Fried flounder and okra. Yum. Gotta say the ambiance, the food, the portion size and quality, all very very good. I left feeling satisfied and content.

Wonderful! The crab cakes and the Shuck's Seafood Casserole are to die for! The patio is great for people watching and the staff was super friendly! Give this place a try!

We didn't eat here so this review is just for 2 yuenglings and a glass of wine, and the 5 stars is for our awesome server Eric. We came on a weekday before dinner so it was pretty empty and even though we were obviously not going to be a lucrative table he was super nice and fun. Also nice outdoor area which we took advantage of since the weather was so nice.

We enjoyed it here! We came for lunch and were seated right away...we sat inside inside and I'm glad we did, outside seating was kind of loud and not as cool as inside, plus there were little finches flying around the outdoor seating area waiting for scraps. I had the oyster tacos with Asian slaw and sriracha mayo, and the hush puppies with praline butter. I would highly recommend both! My husband had a burger with bacon and pimiento cheese, and said it was very good! We also had a bowl of the she-crab soup, and that was good as well, with lumps of crabmeat. We both had the sweet tea of course, and ordered two more to-go cups so we could take them with us to walk around Charleston on that hot afternoon...what a great part of our perfect day!

This is the best crab shack in town. The low country boil is the absolute best I've had. Their servers are young, hip, and friendly. The atmosphere is everything you would want from a fresh seafood destination in downtown Charleston. A must visit locale!!

I personally think they have the best oysters in Charleston. On a hot day, there is nothing better than oysters & a cold beer. If you enjoy both, then this is the place. The oysters are always fresh & do not seem to ever be pre-shucked like some places, so they are fresh & clean. Love this place.

Poor food. Very touristy. Getting real close to being Joe's crab shack or red lobster. The only good part was the oysters.

We were traveling with friends and ate at Aw Shucks. The food was very good. First time I have ever had a soft shell crab sandwich. It was delish.

Grouper was cooked good, not great. Peas were water logged, but savory. Rice was decent.

The IPA Beer was good, the oysters were overpriced (maybe because it was late oyster season in coastal SC and they were actually from Connecticut) the shrimp cocktail tasted made from frozen shrimp, the server was a cool frat guy the decor and friendly staff make this place

I am actually suprised to see that this place got such a good review. The staff was nice... at least the waitress we had. She was new, and trying her hardest to work around how understaffed they were. Waited about 30 mins to order even though it was not busy by any means. I ordered a local beer that cost me $6 and they served it IN THE CAN... in my book, no. Ordered stuffed shrimp for over $10 and got three... THREE SHRIMP. Was pitiful. As I am writing this I notice that no one really has their food. Really regretting this decision. Before receiving my entree I must say I originally had it at 2 stars. Meal was decent, and decently priced UNLIKE the shrimp appetizer. I had the mahi mahi tacos and my friend had the shrimp poughboy. It does seem like the owner is trying to save money in too many places though. It was very relaxed customer-wise yet the wait times were aweful for service and food considering it was a monday night. I may come back, but doubt it considering there is so many other well rated restaurants in the area.

Just drinks and oysters, at kind of an off time, but great food. Our server (same Eric as another review? great guy!) was very knowledgeable about the oysters, telling us the different tastes from different locations. We had the steamed clusters and the oysters rockefeller, and both were delicious. We had already made dinner reservations somewhere else but we are looking forward to eating a full dinner here soon. Great service and atmosphere!

Loved it! Service was friendly and attentive. The she crab soup is amazing! Oysters were plump and fresh and they have several different kinds to choose from. Hubby had low country boil and lived it!

We used to love eating here until my husband got vicious food poisoning from poorly cooked crab cakes. The dr said it was from that yet they denied it. Will never return, they ruined our vacation.
