We had dinner on a Wednesday evening. I was surprised how busy the restaurant was that night. The crowd was not a problem. The waiter was prompt and provided excellent service. I had the blackened Salmon. It was well prepared and delicious. The others in our group had the trout and it was great. I like going to the Galley because the food is dependably good, service is good and they have a nice view of the lake.

We ate here with friends simply because it is accessible by boat from lake Hartwell. The decor in the place is a bit dated. The view is great. Service was just fine. Food was ok also. Nothing to complain about, but also nothing to write home about. I tried the blackened salmon, again just fine. I suggest that you come here for the fun of visiting by boat. Don't come expecting a great meal. I suppose this is a fair thing to say... this place is next door to Nami where you can eat a really good Japanese meal. I would personally suggest Nami as being better than this. If however you have someone in your party who say is allergic to fish, then substitute the Galley.

Service was average. Food was below average. Restaurant and waiting areas were very dirty. Very disappointed.

Every time we go to Clemson to visit our son we go to The Galley. You can watch a beautiful sunset overlooking the lake and it is a lovely place for dinner. The cocktails are good and so is the food. The smaller dishes are a nice option. Staff is always friendly. Make a reservation if going on the weekend.

Horrendous service. Had reservations. Took another 30 minutes to get seated and had a shitty table slapped together with three tiny round tables. Please someone open a restaurant around here.

The Galley is a very good place for those special occasions and a fun meal with friends. We were part of a group of 10 helping friends to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Around the table we had small plate meals, fried seafood, broiled seafood and beef dishes and everyone enjoyed their selections. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and the service is great. It's not a place you will spot driving down a busy street, so you will need to find out where it is and arrive by automobile or boat.

Just OK. We have been here several times. It amazes us how two visits in a row the server was opening their first bottle of wine ever? No big deal just funny!! Slow service like its in slow motion.. Food is ok not great not horrible just not seasoned very well. Bland. The positives are the boat ride there and the view. Worth going once.

Well, I have had better! Three tries before my steak was cooked properly. Filet was thin, quarter inch thick and long! First try well done, second try extremely rare, third finally worked. Had to eat dinner long after the rest of our group! Onion rings had a very floury taste, uncooked flavor. Ordered hot tea, received half a cup. Creme brûlée had nasty aftertaste. I am truly not in the habit if returning food to the kitchen or complaining but this was bad! Would not suggest anyone go unless there were some significant changes! Really, sending a steak back twice and such a strange cut????!

Great view of the lake while dining! This was our first time there and we were very pleased..........at first. Our waitress was attentive and helpful with our drinks, the bread fresh and the salads were very good. Unfortunately it ended there. When our entrees arrived our waitress disappeared and the food was only so-so. Three of us had stuffed seafood.....very dry stuffing..... and one person had fried fish, which he did enjoy. Desserts are OK but nothing special. We had to flag down our waitress and asked another server to find her another time. Bad service and not so good food will keep us from returning in the near future.

We were given a generous gift card for this place. We made a reservation. However when we showed up, there was only one other couple in line in front of us. We checked in with the hostess, and our name appeared to be the only one on the list. While we were waiting, a number of groups came in. Despite us getting there first, every one of these groups were seated in front of us including a group that had 6 people. It is possible they had reservations. But we were seated 30 minutes later than the time we reserved. At one point, the hostess called our name. We got up to follow, but she took another couple that was closer to her. We immediately complained to the other hostess. After we were seated, things were good. Our waitress was very friendly and the food was good. But having the first impression be one of disorder was not impressing especially for a "higher end" restaurant. Probably would not return here.

The Galley is one of the BEST places I have ever eaten. Quiet atmosphere, how rare is that? The prime rib is awesome. The side dishes are the best. Prices are comparable to any steak house. We will return frequently!

The Gallery has been around for many years on the Portman Sholes Marina in Anderson. They are way over priced, but do have some ggod seafood dishes and loaded baked potatoes.
