If one was to base their dinning experience off of ascetics Carson's would be on the top end of experiences. Once inside the experience declines. Dirty cups, unfriendly service, tasteless bland and lackluster presentation all summize the awfulness of Carson's. This restaurant deserves a disclaimer before eating. No stars. Unfortunately to post I have to give 1 star. Consider yourself lucky.

As I stopped by the kitchen on the way out of the restroom. I thanked the kitchen staff! I never do that. I consider myself very snobby where food is concerned. The food was amazing at this privately owned gem in Anderson, SC. The person who owns this restaurant is doing a fantastic job. Our waitress was very proud of the food, she hugged the people in the booth next to us. I told her as my family and I left the table that is it rare that you feel like you got your money's worth after a meal out. I felt that way at Carson's. I hope that they expand into Lexington, SC, so that I don't have to travel 1 1/2 hours to get here, but I will be back if that doesn't happen. We had the Monterey Chicken sandwich, which clearly had a chef who cared about the end result taste!!! Marinated chicken, apple smoked bacon, light layer of fried onions and another layer of lightly grilled onions, fantastic BBQ sauce and not too much, with the cheese. It was really a layering of pleasure to experience. We also had the fried mushrooms, they had a homemade batter and a wonderful jalepeno ranch with it. The fried onions were lightly battered and shoe string. I do believe that it's all about the batter! I was told that I needed to try the ribs, next time! Anyway, I am so pleased with the food that I had to write my first post on Yelp about this tucked away SC find!!!! An argument with my husband landed me to this wonderful place and I'll kiss him for it!!!! God knows what He is doing

Thought we would try something new. Had the ribeye and it came out a pan fried steak. If it wasn't pan fried than it was a cook not knowing how to cook. It appeared pan fried and tasted greasy. The meat had no flavor except for the grease. Think you could get a better steak at Denny's. The price was not worth the meal. I left hungry for $65.00 However the Caesar salad was good. Fresh lettuce and good dressing. The wait staff was nice. But overall I would not visit or choose this place again. I would go to Denny's if it was my only choice. I give it one star because you have to give it something. Guess I give the star to the waitress not the food.

Think of a down scaled Outbacks, Longhorns, or Texas Roadhouse and you are there with Carson's ... Not bad for the price. Food was mediocre but not bad... We went because they had no wait. Outback was 45 min. The Roadhouse was 30... That fact kinda sorta says it all.

Walked out! After being seated, the waitress passed by numerous times and kept telling us, "I'll be right with you". When we saw her cleaning tables instead of getting our drink orders, we took the time to read the other reviews on Yelp. When we saw how negative these reviews were, we decided to go elsewhere. Dismal looking atmosphere. I'm not sure what they specialize in, but I didn't see a satisfied looking patron in the place.

The ambience really breaks this place in my opinion, it's a lot of dark yellow lighting and brown upon brown decoration. The wait staff is average at best but certainly not the worst. The food was ok but lacked that something special that makes you want to come back. Maybe one day I'll give them another try.

I would never suggest this place to my worst enemy. It started off as badly as it ended. The glasses were dirty and the food was tasteless. The sirloin looked like a hamburger steak. I have had better food at cookout, which conveniently is located right up the road. The service was lackluster and the female waitress had very little manners. In summary, hell no we wont go. (Ever again)

Great smelling outside. Not as good inside. BEWARE: still allows smoking inside. Cool inside, seats are uncomfortable, but spacious not cramped. Waitress was curious pleasant and prompt. Food came out orderly and swift. Bread was mediocre and not much flavor, could only eat with butter. Cesar salad came quick, leaves were all ends, and dressing was runny, but croutons were delicious. Steak: was juicy, cooked perfectly (medium rare) lacked flavor. Onion rings were really onion strands, do not order. Sweet tea was good, root beer was good. Waitress was taking forever to bring check, waited about 10 mins, would have been 4 star without this. OVERALL: good, tastes like a steak my dad used to make. Bad, tastes like a steak my dad could make, my dad isn't a chef. I expect more from a place that wants to be known for steaks.

Excellent 11oz steak! Onion rings and fries are good too. Service was good at the bar. Will come back next month when I visit Anderson again.

Was shocked they still allow smoking in the bar. One of the waitress had brought her kid to work and she screamed throughout dinner. I ordered the BBQ chicken nachos and the boneless wings. By the time the food got to us I was coughing from the smoke. When I eat my boneless wings the inside was raw. Needless to say Never Again.

Mediocre at best! Watch out for the manger (I think) that likes to do everything in the restaurant. He likes to handle your food with his bare hands and then proceed to itch his nose. At this guy out of the picture and you might have a better steakhouse. The only thing I could do was watch the guy touch all the food with his bare hands. Grab a bunch of fires and toss them on a plate... Grab that baked potato and man handle it again with bare hands, after itching either is face hands or other body parts. I will never return to the place unless the remove the "larger" pretending to be cook in the kitchen. Maybe the health department needs to go undercover...

My wife & I ate there Sunday afternoon for a late lunch, the barmaid waited on us cause she didn't have customers in the bar, she was a great server,,,, I had the 20 oz. ribeye (med well done) and my wife had the hamburger steak (well done/huge itself), we both had salads (ok for time of yr) & loaded baked potatoes (HUGE & good),,, all was good, altho my med well was a little pinker than I usually like, but I ate it like it was & it was very good. I'd recommend!

Decent, but very friendly service for a Friday night. But I think Iwas served a leather shoe instead of a prime rib sandwich and my friend described his chicken quesadilla as "health food". Looked dry....c'mon Carson. No go. Oh yea, you can't throw peanut shells on the ground anymore. What are we, up North?

Texas Roadhouse want to be. Servers and staff were friendly, but the food left a lot to be desired. The Caesar salad was topped with powdered Parmesan cheese and the honey Dijon salmon was almost too sweet to eat. My husband had the ribeye and it was tasty - the tomato basil vinaigrette was pretty good too. Nonetheless, this is not somewhere we'll come back to.

Mediocre food but an excellent and personable waiter. Not high on our list for a return visit.

We had a server that should have never been allowed to serve people. A friend ordered a salad with extra dressing, and he told her that she would have to ask for one when the food arrived so they wouldn't charge her extra. Wtf? someone is ordering $10-15 in food and another so much in drinks and you cant spare a few ounces of ranch dressing? What other corners are they cutting. One other friend had ordered a bowl of chili that tasted like it came out of a can. Hello? The sign says "TEXAS STATE LINE" when you walk in the place, but the chili is bad? I am sure glad I wasn't with my Texan friends. Now I ordered a steak, I would give it about a 2 out of 10. I asked for some A1 (a comment on the quality of the beef in itself) and was given a little cup. Glad I wasn't charged extra for it. I think they didn't want people at the other tables to see someone with a bottle of steak sauce on their table. They need to improve their food and service everyone seemed to be off their game tonight. Will I go again? Probably but not for a long while, to give them time to straighten things up.

Carson`s Steak House and Sallon is one of the best in Aderson. Very Classy and Casual. Nice bar, food, steaks, drinks. Lotsof Peanut Buckets to eat them and throw on the floor!
