This place is a converted house to eatery. .. Looks quaint and nice service. The meal presentation was very nice from the salad, entrée to desert. Food was tasty. 2 thumbs up!

We were lucky enough to find a restaurant open after work during a winter snow storm this was a house turned into a restaurant , when you walked in the restaurant the porch is decorated with lights almost feels like Christmas. I ordered the crab dip which was ok, the fried oyster salad, the actual salad was good but the oysters had a fishy taste We ordered the creme Brule which was good but col The overall experience was historical. .The server was excellent he went above and beyond to separate our checks.

We were not impressed with this restaurant. We were visiting our son who recently moved to Aiken, and this looked like a nice restaurant from the outside so we thought we'd try it. The restaurant looked quaint inside. Very homey. Then we were seated (finally). There were only two wait staff, which should have been enough given the size of the restaurant, but it clearly was not. We waited quite a while to place our order and receive our appetizer. Another couple came in after we ordered our entrees and finished our appetizer and they received their entrees before we did. The food was just okay. We ordered the fried calamari for appetizer and it was inedible due to the excessive salt. I ordered the stuffed flounder, mostly because I wanted to see how they "stuff" a flounder. The "stuffing" was a bit of crab stuff on top of the fish. The crab stuff reminded me of deviled crab. While the calamari was overly salted, my flounder had none. Their only redeeming quality was the wine. We ordered the Zinfandel and didn't have to precede it with the word "red". Good for them! However, we won't be going back to this place again. Too bad.

This place was one of the only places we could find open on Sunday that was not a chain, so I was excited that we found something before having to resort to one of the chains. Sundays they have a special brunch menu. It was small so it was nice not to have so many different choices. I ordered the feta spinach salmon with rice. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of topping on it. The portion size of the meal how ever was way to small for my liking. An as always everyone I have encountered in the area is very nice, so we had a good waiter!

So as I spend the time away from work as I travel I like to try all the local cuisine. I had passed this little place every day to and the hotel and finally stopped one day before I had to fly home. It is a house converted to a restaurant which is one of my favorite types of small dining experiences. The decor was mellow and nice but not too dark. The staff was all very friendly and very attentive. I was a little under dressed I felt as it was a nicer restaurant and I was wearing scrubs from just leaving the hospital, but everyone else was casual as well so no worries there. I ordered the fried green tomatoes and mozzarella appetizer and it was very good. Was my first time having fried green tomatoes so I cannot speak to their "purposed" tasted, but I loved em. My salad was typical upscale mixed greens with a great house dressing. The main course, mashed sweet potatoes and a HUGE pork chop breaded with crushed almonds....absolutely killed it with that dish IMO. This place was small, mom and pop, and had great food/service so a win in my book for sure. Thanks for that Aiken SC.

This place is great-really good Southern food. Don't be in a rush if you eat here, everything is made to order, but so worth it! Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes, shrimp/grits and peanut butter pie! Wednesday is wine night if you are so enchanted!

Place is very quaint. The wait staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. The fried green tomatoes are the best I have ever had. The food came out quick and was excellent. I will certainly go back if I come back to the area.

Great food and very attentive staff. Nice and cozy environment. Perfect for an intimate night out with that special someone. Will be a hot spot during warmer weather with outside patio area.

Kyle and I went out for dinner after arriving in Aiken for the first time. I wanted to taste some real S. Carolina food, so the guy at the hotel suggested this place which was quite close. Great choice. I liked the sign outside. I liked the furniture. I liked the menu with the picture of a swamp on it. And I liked the food. Kyle attempted to convince me to order grits, but I passed because of the bad recollection of how I disliked the morning grits when I first tried it in S. Carolina more than 20 years ago. Kyle ordered shrimps and grits for himself and let me taste it. It was actually very good. I will try it when I next have the opportunity. I ordered shrimp bisque which was very good and for the main dish- ribs, which were really excellent. I really liked this place.

Sorry for your loss, You didn't look old enough to have a 7 year old, however we were happy and had looked forward to trying something new. There was more conversation between staff than attending to patrons. Everyone has off days, but the food was the worst issue, being a hostess your time spent is minimal with a patron, Possibly a good time for a day off if the timing was not good for you. I understand loss very much, I also understand putting on a happy face to make it through each day especially if i am at work, The biggest complaint i had was with the food quality , Our first impression was dismal. from the moment we walked in the door.

I enjoyed this restaurant. It's a pleasant place and the food is good. I could nitpick, but I had a good time. It's a place for a leisurely lunch with conversation. Lovely atmosphere.

Dk, I am truly saddened by your loss, but I do have to say that Patrons cannot read your mind, no offense but it would probably be best for you to take the time off during such a very sad and tragic day, so you can reflect. It is true that everyone has a bad day, I have had plenty of them in my life. As long as you were not outright rude, then I personally just would have given a lesser tip if I felt it warranted. I've been to swamp fox a few times, enjoyed the food, establisment was nice and staff accomadating, the only problem I had was their steak salad was mostly lettuce, a few slices of meat and an outrageous price for mostly lettuce. They have not been open that long and they need some tweaking, they also need to serve fried green tomatos at lunch, not just dinner, after all, this is the South. My first two visits were pretty good, my last one, I felt they slacked in the amount of food for the price and not having the ingredients, nor was the chef accomadating in making the fried green tomatoes, since they are on the dinner menu, he refused to make them for lunch. Most chefs would have done so.

Waited 10 minutes never acknowledged or seated. So I left and went to coach t. They should have a hostess or a sign of some sort.

I was drawn in by their sign...had to try it out, this authentic Southern cuisine. I'd have to say that the food was as good as what one would find in any good local diner, really tasty indeed, but in my opinion definitely overpriced. $39.00 for the sea bass SPECIAL? C'mon, really? I also thought that for a meal that cost about $150.00 at least I could have a real ramekin for my salad dressing, not a plastic portion cup.The service was terrific though. We felt very attended to by our server. We don't intend to return on our next visit to Aiken.

We waited an extremely long time to get served. My husband's steak was overcooked (we both ordered our steaks the same, medium rare to medium) but his was closer to well done than medium. My scallops were cold. It's disappointing to wait that long for food that isn't properly prepared.
