Subway

804 E Pine Log Rd

My preferred subway of choice in all of Aiken. The sandwiches are not my favorite (blimpees takes the cake on that one) but I love going there because the employees are nice and funny and fun to talk to. Customer service is something I rate big. Now, I do wish they would improve the taste of their meat, but that is not the fault of this franchise, that is a corporate issue, as all subways use the same type of meat. For this specific restaurant, when judging it on a scale of all-the-subways-I-have-ever-been-to, this one is number one in my book.

Cute place! Came here on a whim and Glad I did. Ice cream is so soft and tasty. I had a single mint chip on a cake cone Can't wait to come back and try more flavors.
Stopped here in search of something sweet after dinner in Aiken during masters week (Aiken had nothing else to offer in town which was still open.) took the short drive to Flannigans and glad we did! Cute shop with friendly staff, sat outside on benches and enjoyed our ice cream.
Awesome place. The best ice cream parlor and only one in Aiken county. Great service, clean and enjoyable place to have dessert.

Newberry Hall

If you are looking to hold a meeting that's worry free and pull it off with a lot of class in downtown Aiken, this is your best bet. I've been to many meetings and events at Newberry with the Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness, Sons of the American Revolution, National Management Association, American Nuclear Society and even a few retirement parties; and every time the staff at Newberry had the place set up very well. The table layouts are well thought out, the food selections are very tasty and they have a good variety to choose from, and you have the option of running a cash or open bar (although this will be a fairly limited bar as far as selections go but still a nice option for beer and wine.) As far as I can remember, the price to rent one of their rooms is pretty reasonable and their food and beverage menu makes the price-per-person very affordable for crowds of 20 or more people. The staff are usually very attentive and quick to provide water or coffee refills, remove empty plates, and keep the food trays filled as the crowd shuffles through the buffet line. Except for renting out part of a downtown restaurant, which you can also do at places like the Aiken Brewing Co., The West Side Bowery, etc.; this is the only truly dedicated meeting hall in the downtown area and they do their job well at making your group feel comfortable and well-served. Plus, it's location is walking distance from most of the popular downtown hangouts, so if you want to continue your conversation with someone after the meeting is over, it's a short walk to a restaurant or bar where you can sit down and keep going. Depending on the time of day, and which day of the week, the parking can be a little sketchy...if there are other events going on in the Alley or if it's a busy time of the day for the surrounding businesses; but I've never personally had to walk more than a block to get to whichever meeting I was attending at Newberry no matter what day or time it was. All in all, a very classy place to hold a meeting or reception or an awards or retirement dinner.
As good as it gets! stellar service, excellent food and attention to details made our wedding reception and rehearsal dinner the dream day for our family. You will not regret choosing Newberry Hall for your wedding venue. Thanks Samantha, you 're the best!

Amazing steak and great service. If you are in Aiken this is the place to stop. Stephen, the owner, gave us a full tour of the Rose Hill estate. There is a lot of history here. Personally I had the fillet, and it was amazing. But the crew with me had the pork chop and lobster ravioli which both were raved about.
Pimento cheeseburger was delicious and they make a pretty good Cuban mojito. The patio seating was nice and the live music was a plus. The service was a tad bit though. Overall, great spot to hang out at!
Great food, and great ambience. Turn-of-the-century house that the owners have lovingly restored. just overall great experience

Best darn sandwiches I've ever had the pleasure to eat! :)
I was sad to say that Aiken location closed about six weeks ago.all the furniture is out the lights of been on, nothing!
Love this place. First tried it in the fall when it opened. Happy to support a former Gamecock. I like the concept of building your sandwich on the bag then handing it over. I think it leaves less room for error. I would recommend going online and checking the whole process and menu out before you try it. There are a lot of options. :) The ease of ordering online is a huge plus too. I have done this on more than one occasion. We've done it from our phones! Food: My go to is the Cuban. I like wheat bread and I like to "skinny my wich", and have it heated. Yum. I've also tried the Monte Cristo, and that's a Yum too! As is the Club! My husband's go to is The Wicked. Loves it. At some point I'll branch out and try some of the others, so many look good. I think this place is a great addition to the sandwich shop options in Aiken.

Casa Bella Italian Restaurant

120 Chesterfield St SE
Aiken, 29801
Reviews:
After a long day of hiking the Augusta National terrain we pointed the truck north to Charlotte. Our stomachs told us it was time for dinner. YELP suggested Casa Bella and we were in for a culinary treat. Their old Victorian home serves a a warm and comfortable atmosphere for some great Northern Italian. Sit out side an enjoy a tranquil spot to RELAX! A professional wait staff made great recommendations. Wine list offered quality choices, by the glass and that glorious red sauce! We had lasagna, chicken parm and veal and our consensus was....10+! Make a reservation or call ahead as it is a bit of a ride from 77 but I wouldn't hesitate again to visit Casa Bella. Charlotte needs an Italian restaurant with the quality and authenticity of this great eatery!
the 4 stars is mainly for the food and the building.... i was going to give it 3 stars but their food is really good.... I ate there about a year ago. The ambience is nice and quiet, a little on the small-town romantic side... its in an old house that has been converted into a restaurant,,, quite charming! The hostess greeted us in kindly.. although it took them a few minutes to realize we were there (just sayn) Because we didn't want to do a 'romantic dinner' type evening we sat at the bar. The bartender was kind of snobby ..he wasn't rude or anything but he had a stick up his @$$...and his cocktail skills were eh.. ..i quickly switched to wine The food is great, fresh ingredients made from scratch... i had a mussel pasta dish and my fiance ordered the spaghetti & meatballs.... both plates were delicious! the prices are higher than most people are used to however i think it was worth it considered the quality of the food. overall pretty good place, I would go back for the food only... not a big fan of snobby joints....i expect a more humble, warm, welcoming environment from an italian restaurant.... everyone was very stiff and attitudes were dry :( If you want to take someone there on a romantic date you will nail it with this restaurant.. it will be romantic... but it wont be fun....
My boyfriend and I went there tonight for dinner. We traveled all the way from Augusta GA because of the reviews and it was well worth it. The ambiance is very intimate and great for a date night. Between us We had the lasagna, veil, a bottle of wine, cannoli and a tiramisu for $120 including tip. ! Perfect pricing for the food quality and the diligent wait staff. If I come back to the area I would definitely come back to casa Bella , although I would love to sit out in the garden next time.

Great food, friendly staff. Cute decor. A must try for lunch!
I got the 119 Sandwich with potato salad. I would recommend anybody in the area looking for a good sandwich.
This is the cutest little local sandwich shop. The people who work here are super friendly. I would be lying if I say that I don't pick my table based on what salt and pepper shakers it has! They have a very nice collection of them, and it adds to the charm of this place. Stoplight Deli is a great place for a good lunch if you are in Aiken, esp. doing some shopping on Laurens Street!
