Healthy Meal suggestions for Mellow Mushroom

Best Mellow Mushroom I've ever eaten at! My wife and I split hummus, a lil Caesar salad, and a small Mellowterranean pizza. We also both had Pumpking Ale that blew our minds. It was incredible! - Timing and spacing of each course was perfect. - Portions were large enough for 2 of us to easily split and have some left over (well, we kept eating - it was too good to stop!) - Over 30 beers on tap! With something like 5 or 6 continually rotating taps. - Great location and rad decor. Cannot recommend this place highly enough! Ashley was our server and smashed it. Ultra friendly and talkative (but didn't hover). She had great beer knowledge as well and was happy to answer all of our questions. Even though we're closer to the downtown Augusta location - we'll be making the drive to Aiken more often just to come back here.

I use to eat mellow mushroom pizza religiously in high school, while I was growing up in Greenville. So, you can imagine my excitement when I heard one was coming to Aiken. Now that I finally had the chance to come here and eat, I am pleased. My family and I received great service on the patio from our server, Ashley, and the food was good. My husband wasn't all too impressed with his calzone because they skimped him on the jalapeños, but overall, it was a nice dining experience. I had the steak and cheese hoagie, in the picture below.. it was good!

Service was good but the food and beer was not up to Mellow Mushroom standards on this visit.

The service is definitely better at the bar. Had a great time socializing with the staff and other patrons as well as listening to the live entertainment. My Moscow Mule needed some more authenticity for the $8 price tag, but it was ok. I just wanted something light to eat so the bartender suggested the stuffed portobellos. A great decision! They were stuffed with spinach and cheese with a balsamic drizzle on a bed of mixed greens. I threw a dash of crushed red peppers on top and they were perfect. If I would have had any bread, the remnants on the plate would have disappeared. This is a hot new spot so I'm sure I'll be back. I'll definitely request the bar area.

This new Mellow Mushroom looks beautiful! They have outdoor seating (with heat), a bar, and a dining area. Perfect location in downtown Aiken as well. For the first time going to this new location, I had a pretty good experience. When my family and I walked in, we were greeted by a large host of waiters and waitresses at the front. Since this place is less than a few days old, they're still doing a lot of training and hence the large number of staff. We were first seated outside which made us a bit hesitant because it was so cold. However, when we got out there and sat down at a table in the middle, we realized that it was actually quite warm under the heaters. The waitress quickly took our drink order and told us that all the food was on the house for the day which made us very happy. It took awhile for our drinks to come out and we found out that the soda machine was broken, but we were able to get Coke from the bar instead which worked just as well. For the number of people who were at the restaurant, the food came out relatively quickly and it was still warm. I had the Italian hoagie and some hummus which were both pretty standard tasting for Mellow Mushroom. Not my favorite, but not bad either. Overall, the service was decent for opening week, the food was warm and free, and the manager even came over to see how we were doing. The new location is wonderful compared to some of the older ones and I think this place will be great to revisit in the summer time.

Having moved to the CSRA from the Atlanta 'burbs, I've eaten many a calzone and slice of pizza from Mellow Mushroom in the past 14 years. The Aiken location is really clean and trendy inside, although the service was a little slow when we stopped in. Took a while to get our drinks, and a while longer to get our calzones. Not a problem really, but the calzones were overcooked a little and my jerk chicken had a very strong Worcestershire sauce flavor to it, and very little spice. I think we'll just stick to the Augusta location from now on.

Coolest Mellow Mushroom. Nice place. Pretzels and beer cheese, highly recommend. And the cookie sundae was heavenly. The pizza wasn't as good as I have had at other Mellow mushrooms, but it was still good.

Product excellent. New restaurant I feel isnt that cosey, its more a pub style venue for drinking rather than eating. Would I go back yes but maybe to downtown Augusta as that is still the best one I have eaten in.

My review is based solely on the pizza, and not the friendly service or inviting environment (especially the outside eating area). The specialty pizzas on the menu sounded delicious and creative, so I was excited to try them. Unfortunately, the pizzas sound better than they taste. I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could. The holy shitake pizza had few pieces of mushrooms on it and lots of crust. It was overly greasy and rich, yet somehow lacking in flavor. We sampled a regular cheese pizza for balance and perspective, because I believe a good pizza joint needs to be able to execute the basics. The sauce was good, but the cheese was waxy and there was way too much crust. It seemed like a third of the pie was dense, doughy crust. The mushroom pie also had way too much crust. I found the pies expensive relative to the quality, and light on toppings. Overall, I was not impressed and probably will not return for their pizza. Maybe other menu items are better, but it's supposed to be a pizza place, right?

Really delicious pizzas. And one of the only places that was even open on a Sunday afternoon. Prices weren't cheap, but reasonable. And the waitress was very attentive. I'd highly recommend this place!

Trivia. Poorly run. I won't be back. Seriously. What idiot is reading the questions... This guy will keep the pizza joint in business

My husband and I love good pizza and we are developing a fondness for most of the Mellow Mushroom restaurants that we've visited....with a couple of exceptions (Savannah, GA is one of them). Anyway, we were waiting patiently for the new Mellow in Aiken to open and we drove out there from Lexington in mid-December. As sad as we were that the Bowery closed it's doors and sold the beautiful spot, we couldn't be happier that the new inhabitant is Mellow Mushroom...they've done a beautiful job putting their own mark on the place. We had the choice to sit on the patio or inside and we chose inside only because there was some sort of party going on outside and we like to be able to talk at a normal volume and hear ourselves. The indoor dining was comfy and relaxing and the atmosphere perfectly done...not overwhelming or distracting. Everyone was very welcoming and we had the sweetest waiter....I hope he forgives me for forgetting his name. We sat by the "exit" door. People kept trying to come in that way and had to be pointed toward the main entrance. Anyway, our waiter was so attentive to our needs during our entire meal....he felt bad because they had none of the peanut butter cup cookies that I so desperately wanted for dessert, but said he'd buy me one personally on our next visit. I'm not going to hold him to it, but I thought that was very kind of him. We had ceasar salad with grilled chicken that was outstanding and then we had pizza with pepperoni and green peppers....also wonderful. All in all, it was worth the short drive to Aiken to try out the newest Mellow and welcome them to town. We're already planning another visit....probably in the spring. We loved the place! Keep up the good work, Aiken Mellow!
