The last thing you'd expect to find in small town South Carolina is good Chinese food, but this place was damn good! The decor is nice and walking in you feel very welcome. The buffet is reasonably sized and all of the food was hot, fresh, and being constantly refilled. As with all buffets, my first round is testing small pieces of everything to see what I'll be back for on round 2. Round one was a success! I don't remember trying anything I didn't want to go back for and we definitely left stuffed! This is one of my grandfather's favorite places to go and now I see why. It was a winner in my book and if we're back in town, we'll be back for more!

The restaurant is quite nicely done. There's a cool looking wooden bridge at the entrance. There is a great variety of food to choose. Salad and fruit bar are good. Entrees are tasty. Sushi and sashimi were good, also. Even a picky eater can find something to eat here. They even have American dishes here such as fried chicken, fries and crab legs (extra fee, of course). The egg drop soup was just ok. Could have been a little thicker in consistency. My favorite dish, sweet and sour chicken was excellent. The vegetable lo mein was decent but not terrible. Selection of deserts was pretty awesome. Fresh fruit, standard Chinese buffet deserts, jello, pudding and Hershey's ice cream. Service was good, too. Not too much to complain about here. I liked them, and I would definitely return.

Quality has gone down lately; used to be pretty good apart from the occasional stale dry noodle or mushy wonton, but the chicken in two different type meals was tough and stringy/fatty and the wonton soup noodles were mushy all in the same order. I was able to overlook an occasional hiccup, but there's either a lack of supervision, or they just don't care anymore. I hope they see this and take measures to get back to serving better food.

Yuck... Nothing was good here. Had to finish the meal with fruit and a bread roll to wipe out the flavor. Pretty much no healthy options. About what you would expect from a cheap all you can eat joint. Should have known better...

Ate here in the evening. Food not that good at all. Don't think I will be going back. I would avoid.

The food really isn't that good. You have to go at a certain time to be fresh and hot.. Then they run out and you have to sit and wait for them to bring more out. Not good

Not very good at all. I've been here a few times, but the food is just not very good and many times it seems like it's been sitting a while. I just do not like this place at all, and I do not plan to go back.

On my visit out to Aiken, SC I went to this place with a feeling that it would end up being just as "blah" as all the other Chinese buffets I've been to on the west coast. All the memories of feeling sick and disgusted started to come back as I pulled up to the restaurant. I did know ahead of time that my meal would be paid for, so I wasn't dreading it too much. However, once I walked in I was greeted warmly and promptly helped. My first impression was that the place was laid out nicely. The food was all organized in one location and I didn't have to walk a lot to get back to my seat. Food presentation was good and I wasn't scared to eat what they were serving. I surprisingly didn't eat a whole lot here. What I did eat was really good and blew restaurants of similar style that I've been to out of the water. I liked the wide range of food they had there ( it is "eastern" after all ) and they even had ice cream. I enjoyed the delicious fried rice and chow mein. The soups were delish as well. Yay for egg tarts cause they had them too. This place also gets an A for service. Very friendly and personable. The waitresses were prompt and cleared plates in a timely manner. This is important to me as I hate when my plates pile up. The only negative thing I could say about Eastern Buffet is that the food at times was a little greasy and lacking some flavor. Not a bad amount of grease...but just enough for me to notice and be a little turned off. 4 stars * * * *

I've been here a lot and I'm not a fan. I'm only here if my friends suggest it. The food is OK, the sushi isn't that good. I would much rather spend the money and go somewhere else. The service downright stinks. I had to ask for more water and it was a chore to get it after 5 minutes and I had to go get my own chopsticks from the service bar. This is a regular occurrence at this restaurant.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
