The "market" part is LONG gone The "original"owner was the best ever Then there was a 2nd owner, who in my opinion sucked big donkey balls And now there is a 3rd owner, and we have Meldgie's Rivers Edge Cafe..... Good food! Good prices! Staff that ROCKS! For example, like, you don't have to ask for more coffee, they know the "regulars", and its BYOB! Home made, home cooked from scratch kinda place! The Grapenut pudding is NOT to be missed! Breakfast & Lunch before 2 pm They just started doing Friday Night dinners again, went this past Friday as part of my "date night" with the boy :) I had Fish & Chips...well, you actually get to pick your 2 sides..so it doesn't HAVE to be fries & cole slaw. I love cole slaw...like A LOT! So I had to get that :) and a baked potato. I was surprised by the size of the 2 fresh pieces that were laid in front of me...nice piece of lemon, plenty of Tah-tah sauce. The boy got kids pasta....perfect sized portion. Rolls & 2 drinks, the bill was $16...I am not even kidding! Go, yes...now! NOTE: Sweenys Package Store shares the same parking lot, grab some beers & go get some good food!

This is one of my favorite breakfast places that I went to growing up!!! Still love coming here! I had the eggs benny and it was very good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the homefries that came with it. When I go back, I'll ask that they be cooked well done. To be honest though, I am pretty picky with my homefries. Our waitress Dale was great! Very cheerful and friendly! Oh, be sure to try their M&M pancakes!! LOVE them!

While visiting friends in Tuckertown this weekend, we went out for breakfast. We ended up at the River's Edge Cafe. It was about 9:30 on a Sunday morning, there were plenty of seats, and we picked our own booth. The wait staff was very prompt in coming to get our drink order while we looked at the menu. It has the usual American breakfast fare, eggs, omelets, pancakes, french toast, etc. There were also many specials available. I ordered 2 eggs scrambled, well done, home fries, and cranberry walnut toast. My husband got an egg white omelet with onions and peppers. Our friends got biscuits and gravy and the special Chirico and cheese eggbeater omelet. Within minutes of ordering, our food arrived. My eggs were OK, although not as well done as I'd have liked. The home fries were OK too, not crispy, but seasoned pleasantly. The cranberry and walnut toast was the highlight of my meal. Which is why only 2 stars. However, according to the guys, the omelets were very good. Next time I'll have to try one of those instead. And if it's as good as they say, I'll up my rating.

You know a place is solid quality when the local folks even feel at home. Great french toast, delicious links and corn beef hash that is not a sodium side. We will make it a must stop when we visit next !
