We have were quite surprised what a nice restaurant this turned out to be. In the middle of Wakefield RI, the location is fairly ordinary. I had a French dip sandwich. It was good sized and was the roast beef was very tender. Unlike many other French dips, the su jus was not overly salty. My wife had the lobster grilled cheese sandwich. Delicious and a lot of lobster. Brie cheese. What can go wrong. Great service by Jarrod!

The first time I went there it was great. Last night, just ok. This trip, I had the special - bone-in ribeye. My steak was way overdone and the quality of the meat didn't seem the same, also a very thin cut for a ribeye. We also had the prime rib, another small thin cut but tasty and the ribs which were massive. They really need a 1/2 rack option. Everything else was ok, nothing to stand out though. I think I'd go elsewhere if looking for exceptional.

This place is where the old Casey's used to be . I have been here a few times and every time I have had a different experience . Don't get me wrong the atmosphere is awesome. Nice large bar area with an upper class feel to it. The staff every time I have gone was super friendly and accommodating. The food is where they lose stars. During my most recent visit I ordered several shrimp cocktail. At $3.25 a piece I didn't think they should taste like they where just defrosted and left sitting in old water . WON'T be wasting my money on those again. I ordered the fish and chips . Sub par, tasted better fish from a mcfish sandwhich . Plus the tarter sauce tasted like a whole lemon was squeezed in it. 2 small pieces of fish and a handful of fries for $17.00 The menu is small to average size and the prices are on the high side. Probably won't order food again but might stop in for a drink.

Great food finally in the area! Wish we'd come here sooner. Went tonight with the wife, 3 year old and 10 month old. Very kid friendly staff, all nice to my daughters. Bread & butter were great, always a great indicator of what's to come. French onion soup - Cesar salad were both tasty. Soup broth was excellent, and covered in glorious melted crusty cheese. Filet , ordered MR, was spot on and had a well seasoned crust. I opted for the baked potato, soft hot and salt coated skin - delicious. My wife's prime rib was velvet, with plenty of great jus as well. Our experience ended here this time around since it was bath and bedtime for the kids. We can't wait to come back, dual level bars looked intriguing for a date night return. Out server Megan was great - service was professional & welcoming. Great job all around Chop House. Until we meet again -

Came in based on yelp reviews and it was awesome. Nice menu, varied and small compared to most. A single large page with a good variety. I had the Point Judith Calamari and the Sea Scallops over Sweet Pea Risotto. Both were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I highly recommend this place. Service was great and prices were good. Their is a wide swing in prices on the menu so they cover any budget. Most dishes are quite reasonable and the have some higher priced options if your looking for a fancy steak dish.

Excellent experience! I went there tonight with two other guests and we all loved it. Prime rib was melt in your mouth and seared sea scallops were very flavorful. The English pea risotto that came with the scallops was bland and tasted more like plain white rice though. Staff was quick and attentive. Drinks are strong. Delicious fresh bread with cinnamon sugar butter.

Chophouse was fantastic! We had Jimmy as our waiter and he was the best! Really personable and great service. The food here was unbelievable! I had the NY strip steak which came with lyonnaise potatoes, and it was actually one of the best if not the best steak I've ever had, and that's comparing them to steakhouses in NYC. Others in my family had the prime rib, which was a huge 16oz hunk of incredibly tasty meat. My girlfriend is a vegeterian and she had the pad Thai with tofu and she loved it! She said the tofu was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the 4 layer chocolate cake, which was the biggest slice of cake I've ever seen, and man was it good! I definitely recommend checking this restaurant out if you're in the area! It's amazing!

Was here Tuesday night for dinner and it was quite good. There were quite a few people here for a Tuesday night so I'm guessing my experience was one that others must have. I got the legendary buffalo tenders, and while they were good, I think they were just ok. Then I had the chophouse cheesesteak and it was quite tasty. It's a good joint for dinner and I'll probably come back next time I'm in the area.

This place is a solid four stars. The calamari was excellent, the steaks were good. The asparagus side was delish. Service was good as were the drinks. We were able to make our reservations through the opentable app 15 minutes before we arrived, which I absolutely love. The decor is really nice, I enjoyed the layout and the overlook view of the bar from our table. This place is worth a visit if you're in the area and will certainly go back again.

We last minute booked a reservation for eight adults and two kids. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Got us in at the time we wanted so the kids would be chill. The menu has some curve balls outside of the normal steakhouse style items but everything was great. I grabbed the New England clam chowder and it disappeared quicker than expected. So tasty. The buffalo calamari was unexpected and delicious as well. Not the traditional crispy like you'd expect from calamari but more like a buffalo hot wing. Their grilled sausage and beans were also prepared very well. Jimmy was incredibly friendly and approachable. Attentive to our large group and the kids needs too. Charlie should give that guy a day off! All in all we had a really good time and enjoyed all of it. Thanks everyone!

I'll tell you all you need to know about ChopHouse Grille in one sentence: Happy Hour is from 4:00 to 5:30 every day and the apps are DELICIOUS. Okay, I guess I'll write more about my experience at ChopHouse... Their steak and cheese is delicious and their filet mignon is very good. Their béarnaise sauce is alright, but goes good with the filet. My advice to you is that if your server asks if you want bread, the answer should always be "yes". They always have warm bread with cinnamon butter. The edamame app is good and VERY flavorful. If you like edamame with a little extra yum to it (aka not plain Jane with just salt), you'll love it. The prices are a little steep, but for some of the dishes, it's worth it. That's probably why I'm a big fan of their happy hour. The service is great. I don't think I've ever come to ChopHouse and had a bad serving experience. All of the staff (from the bartenders to hostesses to waitstaff) are very attentive. At the entrance they have Andes mints, which you can't go wrong with. Here's the low-down on the happy hour. It's from 4:00 to 5:30 (as stated above), but you can still get the delicious apps after 5:30 if you ask. The apps include prices from $3-$5 and I believe there is a discount on drafts as well. The appetizers are finger foods such as loaded tatertots (with melted cheese, applewood smoked bacon, and chives), the most amazing buffalo tenders I've ever had, nachos, mozzarella sticks, and I think a few other delicious treats. It's worth all of the nasty calories and the bartenders are fun. I'll keep coming back to ChopHouse for the happy hour and beyond!

Decided last minute to try ChopHouse Grille on Friday night. I called at 4pm and was surprisingly able to get a reservation for 12 people for 6:15pm. When we got there I could see why..the place is huge. Very modern looking, with TVs everywhere and two bars. The "legendary buffalo chicken tenders" were quite legendary, definitely would get them again. The bread was hot and made me too full for my meal. Our group got a variety of stuff including steak and cheese grinder, hot lobster rolls, salmon, rib eye, surf and turf and the Delmonico steak special. Everyone really liked their meals except for the salmon. The hot lobster rolls were the big hit. Definitely a good place to checkout.

WARNING- - this review is based only on the mojito I consumed at a recent 80th birthday party for my grandma. THIS WAS THE BEST MOJITO I HAVE EVER HAD! We went there only for the event, there was a light spread and some drinks. I was very impressed across the board. Will be back for a full meal!

After a long day/night at work I needed dinner. I'm new to the area so I tried this establishment based on the reviews of others. I called in at 10:30 pm to see if the kitchen was still open. The manager confirmed that it was, but only for another 30 minutes. I was able to place my order over the phone, travel there, and enjoy a nice, quiet meal. I am very impressed with the customer service and the quality of food I enjoyed.

This place is fantastic. The decor is beautiful, the service was impeccable, even though the place was completely packed when we were there it wasn't overly loud, and, oh yeah, the food was amazing. This is fine dining that doesn't feel pretentious--and it's even reasonably priced. The menu isn't super vegetarian friendly, but I still managed to go away stuffed after the chopped salad and mac and cheese (side dish). The salad was huge and incredibly delicious, and one of my dining companions was completely in love with her bacon wrapped meatloaf--something for everyone. Our server was great--attentive, but not annoying, funny like a real person and quick with the drinks. Maybe I just love her because she brought me blue cheese stuffed olives for my martini (which was perfectly made), but either way, she got a good tip. It takes me about 45 minutes to drive to Chophouse from Providence, but I'm honestly planning my next visit. This is a kind of destination place that I would love to take friends and out of towners to. Only issue was that parking was a bit tight, but the chef told us they're adding valet next week. That wrinkle certainly wasn't keeping people away, however, so now the issue will be just getting a reservation.

One of the best places in Rhode Island! The food and service is unbelievable! The service is unmatched!! Very polite, courteous, and helpful. The special drinks are also very creative and clever! I would highly recommend this for a date night... Or any night. Two other things that I was impressed by: the owner stopped over to say hello (in between helping his servers) and the chef came out to talk to us. While their menu is very clear what is gluten free and what isn't, we had a few questions. The head chef came over and described exactly how each thing was cooked and what they could do to help my (extremely gluten free) boyfriend. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had, and we come here often!!

I went here for the pre-opening with my girlfriend, and a couple of friends. This place was incredible! We loved the newly renovated interior that gives the restaurant a very modern industrial feel. There is lots of warm wood tones and soft yellow ambient lighting. With 2 sections of bars, you can bring your friends over to one bar and watch the game, or bring your family to the other room and experience a nice, private moment. Really made me feel welcome. We were sat at a high top table that was near the bar. A football game was on on their massive flat panel TVs, but was not too loud or distracting at all. The waitress greeted us and presented us with assorted menus. Since this was a "Test", each menu had different items to allow the kitchen staff to be properly challenged, an also provide them with an idea of what they will serve in the future, as we were explained by the GM, Jamie. I was most surprised to see that they had wine on tap, which is something I'd never seen. My girlfriend tried the tap Pinot Grigio, which I tried and thought was good. I had a Brooklyn Lager (bottle), as I wasn't a huge fan of the draft choices. They had very standard Guinness, Bass, Bud Light, Sam Adams, etc. I'm a craft beer snob, so those beers didn't shock me, but I definitely enjoy a Brooklyn. For appetizers, we had fried calamari and boneless buffalo tenders. The calamari was delicious, as was the tenders. The buffs had a honey/buffalo flavor, which sets it apart from all others. I was told by the waitress that the owner of this place also owns Charlie-Os in Narragansett, so they are the same wings. Finally, for dinner I ordered the French Dip sandwich. It was a massive sandwich packed with shaved tender beef, and littered with the tastiest carmelized onions. I tried the sandwich without the Au Jus, and I was in love. Then I hit the sauce, and I nearly fell out of my seat! The fries were just as unbelievable. Just the right seasoning... So no real need for ketchup. My girlfriend ordered the Scallops, which were huge and they sat atop mounds of creamy risotto. She loved them. I also tried a bite of the Lobster panini, and I can say that the flavor was incredible. It was a lobster roll brought to a new level. I didn't try any deserts since I inhaled my sandwich, but my friends got chocolate chip bread pudding that they said was amazing. The waitresses were very pleasant and took good care of us. I will definitely come back, and hope to do so soon. If you are in the area, check this place out.

Make no mistake, though the place before it was a bar that happened to serve food, the Chophouse is restaurant first. And it's a good thing too, because the area needs an upgrade in the choices for fine dining. As a bar, the new decor looks great, but a beer menu this dull means that I'll still be drinking at the Mews.

What a world of a difference between old and new. I can't write a large review because they make it really easy to do. It looks amazing inside and was worth the redo. The menu is small and I like that don't have to spend 10 minutes trolling for dinner. I had the French dip and my wife, the salmon. My only complaint is there wasn't much juice to dip my sandwich in so I had to carefully use it. The only reason I'm giving this place a 4 is its entirely new staff and completely new. After I've been there again in a couple months and its the same i will adjust it to a 5 star. I'm really looking forward to going back for a steak and some dessert because they have some good choices and big slices of cake.

They finally pulled up the booze soaked carpet, kicked out the college kids, and transformed the old Casey's into a really nice looking restaurant. But unfortunately, that's about where it ended for me. Came here a few weeks ago with a party of 8, and no one was really happy with their experience. Atmosphere - it's nice, and new. Nothing bad to say here. Service - nothing to complain about here, either. Our server was nice and attentive. Menu/Food - I found the menu to be relatively small. It's typical American fare- burgers, steaks, seafood, and of course, chicken parm. I ended up getting just a burger: it was overcooked and my fries weren't hot. My brother got a (roughly) $25 pork tenderloin stuffed with apples served over mashed sweet potatoes (his wasn't hot either). He got 3 pork tenderloins, each roughly the size of a half dollar, with the smallest amount of mashed potatoes humanly possible. All other meals were similar: small portions, and nothing was hot. Small portions, higher prices; seems like they may have a few kinks to work out. Ill try them again at some point, but I won't rush back.

I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. It was really dry. I could not taste the pesto. The roasted red pepper was so flat I could barely taste it. I also could not taste the balsamic reduction. It just tasted like a bland and dry chicken sandwich. It came with fries. The fries were okay. I ordered this to go, and I wish they had put some ketchup or utensils in the bag. I have also tried the Chophouse Greek Salad. They let you purchase the salads in half portions, as well. I disliked the salad. I ordered it with the greek viaigrette on the side. 4/5ths of the cup was filled with oil. It was soooo oily and lacked flavor. I ended up eating the salad plain. I do like that they have a huge bowl of Andes Mints at the front! I added one star just for this as it was probably the highlight of my visit. Chophouse Greek Salad - Romaine lettuce, grape tomatoes, red onion, feta, kalamata olive, greek vinaigrette 2/5 Grilled Chicken Sandwich - Arugula walnut pesto, roasted red pepper, fresh mozzarella, balsamic reduction, toasted french bagutte 2/5 Creole Grilled Salmon - Smoked paprika rub, roasted corn succotash, tequila lime vinaigrette 3/5

After hearing great reviews about the Chop House in Wakefield ( chophousegrilleri.com ) we made a reservation there for Wednesday night to celebrate a special birthday. Greeted by wonderful, friendly staff the atmosphere was stunning. A restaurant in the former Casey's Bar and Grill location has been completely redone and now has a very modern classy vibe that is evident the moment you walk through the door. After looking over the dinner menu, it seemed that there were a rather limited selection of items- However, the Prix-Fixe Menu offered a wonderful variety of meal combinations that were not offered on the dinner menu. The Prix-Fixe menu offered three courses (Soup or Salad, Entree, and a Dessert) for only $19.95. A great value! All three of us ordered from the Prix-Fixe menu, which turned out to be a wonderful choice. The first course all three of us chose soup, there were two choices - Clam chowder or a Reuben soup. The waiter raved about the Reuben soup, explaining it to be similar to a french onion soup, with pieces of marble bread and covered in cheese! Normally a Reuben would not be appealing to me, however the waiter SOLD me, maybe it was when he told me it was covered in cheese? When the soups were delivered we were not disappointed- covered in cheese and grilled onions with pieces of marble bread soaking in a creamy vegetable based soup with a subtle thousand island flavor. This was by far one of the most impressive soups I have ever tasted. The waiter had every right to be raving about this soup, it was remarkable! While I did not try the Clam Chowder it appeared to be served as a typical chowder, and our guest reported it to be one of the best chowders she had tasted, which is a huge complement from a born and raised New Englander! None of us were able to finish our soups, in order to save room for the next two courses. Shortly after finishing our soups the Entrees were delivered to our table. One Country Fried Chicken, One Chipotle Shrimp, and One Pork Chop. While these things sound average they were far from that. The Country Fried Chicken was paired with mashed potatoes and mac&cheese. The chicken had a very light batter covering topped with a thin layer of gravy. The chicken itself was tender and moist, the sides were also very good- I found the Mac&Cheese to have a very light coating of cheese with a cracker crumble topping. The Chipotle Shrimp came out in a beautiful display, with skewers of shrimp covered in a white chipotle sauce and topped with haystack potatoes and laid elegantly over the top of pappardelle pasta. Sadly this picture did not turn out very well for you to get the full effect of how beautifully displayed this meal was. Lastly the pork chop came out topped with greens, tomatoes, and onions, again presented in a wonderful display. The pork chop was very tender with a thin sweet caramelized coating giving it a very distinctive taste and a mouth full of flavor. This pork chop took sweet and savory and used it to it's full potential! While the meals were delicately presented and deliciously divine no one was able to finish if they had any hope of tackling the dessert menu. While the dessert menu had many wonderful options from Chocolate Marshmallow Bread Pudding, Typical Strawberry Cheesecake, to Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee. At our table this was a unanimous decision - the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee. According to the website these desserts are prepared by Sweet Cakes Bakery. Again they were delivered out beautifully and had more flavor than I have ever experienced in a Creme Brulee. The Vanilla Bean had a very creamy powerful flavor topped with a delicate layer of caramelized sugar. The dessert was wonderful, very rich in flavor, and an amazing finish to a wonderful meal! I truly cannot say enough good things about the Chop House - the service was amazing, from our helpful waiter to the friendly hostess and even a visit from one of the owners. This would be a wonderful place to host a large group or to celebrate a special day.The restaurant offers their main menu as well as a late night menu, from talking to the wait staff it seems that the place gets busy for their late night menu items. Also, the Chop House offers nightly specials that they post on their facebook page and a trivia night weekly. I suggest making a reservation via phone or using their online reservation system. hisandhersreviewspot.tum…

The last time I went to ChopHouse was on Valentine's Day for dinner and it was phenomenal, I kept telling all my friends that it was the best meal I've had in a while. I went last night, hoping to have a similar experience, but in a little over a month that place has changed completely and not for the better. I had ordered my steak medium rare and it was served almost well done, the bacon wrapped around my asparagus wasn't completely cooked, and whoever had shucked our oysters wasn't paying attention because my boyfriend almost swallowed a huge chunk of shell. I'm not saying the place is awful but I was shocked by my meal and the menu changes (which contains food more suitable for Rhody Joe's). The service was excellent but I feel like I could have had a better steak at the Applebee's down the road...

The décor and design of the restaurant is great, they did a wonderful job renovating it from what it previously was. Our waitress, Sophia was lovely and knowledgeable! I highly recommend the Jameson's Green tea, it was delicious! My husband ate the fish and chips and loved it! The fish was white and not soggy from frying at all. I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf, which was also very good! The bacon was as crispy as I like, but given the fact that it was cooked while being wrapped around meatloaf it's understandable! We finished dinner with the New York Cheesecake, which could not have been a better choice! So delicious! We will be back again!

Use to really love this place when it first opened. However the last few times I was there the service wasn't the greatest. Had a reservation and still had to wait 25 minutes. Also, I'm not so sure the price of the meat is worth it. Ordered a $32 steak and it came out with a steak on a plate and a small bowl of mashed potatoes next to it. Probably could have eaten another meal. This place is average, might need to think about lowering prices. I won't be back for awhile

Mostly good experience here recently, which was my first time. The place looks great, huge improvement over the previous joint. Menu is pretty standard 'steakhouse' stuff, but the prices are what you find in a big city, not in a college town like Wakefield. $42 for a steak is a lot, and it better be great. I did like my steak but it wasn't great. The restaurant is shooting for an upscale feel and they do a decent job but there are some things that need improving. Most of our meals could've been hotter - this wasn't too bad but a steak should be served on a heated plate. Music was loud and obnoxious. They'd be better off with some tasteful jazz or blues instead of the pop lite fluff. It seemed way too immature for the type of environment and prices. I'd come back again, but would like to see some better training for the waitstaff and more attention to detail.

So here it is - we were so excited for the opening and were invited to the soft opening. The place is popular and can be very busy. The renovation looks great. The atmosphere is cool. The drinks are good, however, I think I keep making the wrong food choices here. I first had the lobster sandwich (on a grilled panini ... WHAT? you say) Not the best lobster salad sandwich I've ever had. I'm just being honest. My second trip, again a sandwich, and I chose the chicken sandwich. It was served on the DARKest bread I've ever seen. The flavor/tecture combinations were just not appealing to me. The description and the dish did not jive. OH and it was served with sauteed red onions. Having said that - I WILL go back, but I will bite the bullet and order a steak ($$$) . I LOVE the atmosphere and the drinks, so I WILL try it again.

If you remember drinking at the old Casey's Bar & Grille (which obviously means you didn't drink enough) then you'll be thrilled at the news that it has been replaced by an upscale, new steakhouse. And a very good one at that. Our dinner at the ChopHouse Grille was, simply, excellent from start to finish. We started with my new favorite appetizer -- fried calamari -- which was prepared better than what you'll find at most of the buttoned-up restaurants on "The Hill." And the large cut of tender prime rib that followed was flat-out perfect. And if it is possible to somehow combine s'mores with a pumpkin bread pudding and have it emerge as a stunning culinary masterpiece, then it has been achieved in Wakefield. It's one of the more unique desserts I've enjoyed in some time. Order an extra fork for your date if you must, just don't let it pass by. Casey's somehow lasted for thirty years. Here's hoping the ChopHouse Grille lasts longer.

This place is going down hill pretty fast. Some ownership changes which resulted in the chef leaving has led to some very disappointing results. Dishes like the Penne a la vodka and pasta Bolognese are note the same (I heard they freeze dishes now?!?). When you dine in you have ASK for the bread before your meal comes. I figured I would order the trusty buffalo tenders and calamari to go tonight and the calamari was completely soggy and the buffalo tender, which used to be soooo prefect were over battered and a little mushy. Not terrible but nothing like the way they used to be! so sad.

My girlfriend and I came here during our stay in Rhode Island and loved the appetizers. Our food options in the area seemed to be pretty limited around 11 pm or whenever it was late at night that we were looking, and the kitchen at the last bar had closed already, so it was a nice thing that the food at ChopHouse was good. The tater tots were solid, but it was really the baked mac & cheese that blew me away.

We went to this restaurant for a bd dinner, it was ok but not spectacular! We found it to be very expensive for a family of four. The service was ok, I guess I wasn't impressed. The food, again, didn't leave me saying, "let's go back to this place again" Dragon Palace in Wakefield is right down the street, sushi is delicious, healthier and more my speed.

I went to the grand opening of the new Chop House and first thing is finally a good restaurant in the area. Beautiful decor when you first walk in with an amazing wine rack at the entrance. The restaurant has a comfortable feel for a place that you know is higher end. You can get affordable items and a high end meal and still get to watch a sporting event on one of the 2 monster sized TV's at the bar. Now the food, this restaurant just opened last week so reviewers have to understand that any new restaurant has to work out procedures and staff the first 60 days. My wife and both had a beautiful steak that was perfectly cooked and a wonderful sausage appetizer. Overall this restaurant is refreshing alternative to the old dusty restaurant options in Wakefield/Narragansett. It's definitely going to be a hit. Try it out, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Thanks

I visited this gem on valentines day and was a bit skeptacal since this day tends to be very busy and service can be compromised----well this was so NOT the case! Our waiter Chris was very informative with the wine selection and the menu. I chose the scallops over the pea risotto which was a great recommendation by the waiter. My date had the top sirloin cooked to perfection --medium well along with mashed potatoes and we chose another side to share--the porcini mushrooms which were amazing! The mashed potatoes were a bit on the cooler side and Chris offered to get a new side for us but it was bearable --not eliminating it's taste by no means. The dessert menu was extensive which is usually a ligation with many restaurants along with fidgeting a red velvet cake as a special which the next table was devouring. We simply could not indulge in a dessert but I cannot wait to return to this establishment to try other dishes and leave some room for dessert. A great transformation of the former CASEY'S.

My parents and I came in looking to try the place out as we were considering it for my upcoming wedding rehearsal dinner. We weren't feeling full dinners, so we ended up sitting in the bar area, ordering apps and beers. The bar area seemed nice, the decor is cool and modern, and our server was very nice. The beer list left something to be desired in this age of craft brewing -- only one real craft beer on tap, plus Sam Seasonal. I had the craft IPA that they did have and it was good, but this is a restaurant review not one for beer. We got three apps - there are about 6 or 8 total on the menu - went with the buffalo tenders, Italian sausage, and calamari. None were particularly great. The Italian sausage was really the worst. It came as 3 slices cut on the bias. They were totally black all the way around when they came to the table, otherwise carefully plated, which I found as a strange paradox. This serving was no overlooking mistake. You could see how dry the meat was -- and it tasted like somewhat spicy cardboard. I probably should have sent it back, but I always have trouble doing that in the moment. Anyhow, the calamari was alright, a bit on the greasy side, so the pieces on the bottom of the plate were soaking the grease up a bit. The seasoning was good though if you can look past the greasiness. The boneless buffalo wings (tenders) were also fine -- bottled buffalo sauce and your standard wing-shaped chicken tenders -- pretty hard to screw that up. If this had been a regular bar or pizza place (etc) I would have expected boneless wings like these but we heard great things about the Chop House! The food did not deliver. The server was nice, friendly, enthusiastic, and prompt. She gets all of the stars I can muster for this visit.

Was looking forward to dining at Chophouse since it opened. Food was delicious but portions were small. Bar service was terrible. She seemed to judge us when I ordered a miller lite and my wife did not order a drink. Everyone was served bread but us. Bartender was pretentious. Bar felt more like a sports bar than high end. Thought we were going to Capital Grille of Narragansett but instead it was Casey's with a facelift.

Have been to the ChopHouse Grille a couple of times. Food is very good. I really enjoyed the lobster roll. My husband tried the meatloaf which was also very good. Ribs were a little spicy. Atmosphere is very nice but can be a little noisy. Would highly recommend.

First off, they have complimentary valet, which is nice because the parking lot gets packed quick. We were a party of 6 that had a reservation. We were seated right away. The service was good, mixed drinks made great and their house red wine is J. Lohr which we all enjoyed. For appetizers we had the calamari (which was awesome) and shrimp cocktail. It is priced at 3.75 PER SHRIMP? I ate at Venice in Westerly the night prior to this and received 4 same size shrimp for the price of one shrimp at the Chophouse! Overpriced, but it was still very tasty. As for meals, we had bone-in ny strips, ribeye, pork tenderloin, meatloaf and the steak and lobster mac n cheese special. All meals were excellent. I have no complaints about anything other than the high prices for the steaks and the absurd price per shrimp.

Updating my review for our Restaurant Week experience. I ordered a main course I really didn't like. Normally I don't send things back, particularly since my husband liked what I had ordered. But I was starving! I told the waitress we would wrap my pasta and I'd order something else (expecting to pay for everything, obviously, since we were taking my meal home). Instead they gave me my wrapped meal and let me order another entree at no extra charge. I ordered the short ribs for a replacement meal, and they were excellent. Incidentally, there was nothing really wrong with my first meal, I just didn't like the flavor. Since my original review in August, I've always enjoyed my experiences at ChopHouse, and we go there relatively often since it is nearby.

While the new restaurant is a vast improvement over Casey's much is left to be desired. Pros: shorter wait than initially told by the hostess, warm yet modern decor, courteous , informed staff, and fair prices for portion size (although less is often better quality) Cons: a short wine list ( white zin is NOT ros é to a wine lover!), very noisy (linens and other sound reduction efforts here please), blinds (who wants to look at the Wakefield mall?) dirty wine glass, shrimp in fritters were tiny and not deveined- how about chopped shrimp (and some spices)? Asparagus fries- please use smaller spears- they were tasty but stringy Everything we had could've been better seasoned- my veal chop was a beautiful piece of meat cooked to a perfect medium rare but lacked flavor- at least salt& pepper before grilling!! Seasonal offerings would be welcomed as well- most of the dishes sound great but are very heavy sounding, not exactly what I want late summer (and how about local sourcing whilst we are at it?) There is potential here for a great restaurant but so far chophouse only merits a C- in our book...we will go back in a few months to see what's changed.

What a spectacular renovation! The place is beautiful now and the layout is much improved. We dined there on a busy night and they were able to seat us fairly close to our reservation time which can be difficult. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The layout allows for a more intimate dining experience now, with more separation of the areas. We had the buffalo tender appetizer to start and it was very very good. Our entrees were very good, except the prime rib which was just ok (too lean is what I was told). Definitely a nice addition to the SK restaurant scene. It is worth checking out simply for the beautiful renovation.

I cannot say enough good things about my experiences with Chophouse. I've been for dinner at the bar twice, and recently held a fundraiser in the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. The quality of the food and service was not sacrificed for "banquet" style parties. The service is exceptional, rivaled only by the food- I highly recommend the bacon appetizer (maple bourbon glaze!) and the Cobb salad (slow roasted tomatoes! More bacon!). Sitting at the bar on a Sunday night, you'll find yourself surrounded with industry locals...a sure sign you are in the right place.

Went here for dinner last evening. They have elevated this restaurant from a college pub to fine dining. The decor is warm and modern with vintage pics of local beaches tastefully hung throughout the restaurant. The bartender was attentive and mixed a delicious hot and dirty martini. The bread with cinnamon butter was hot and delicious and the edamame appetizer was flavorful. We ordered a mouth watering perfectly cooked strip steak. I knew after dining here I would never have to leave South County again in search of a steak house. The owners were hands on greeting diners and Amanda our server was professional, knowledgable about the menu, and allowed us to enjoy a leisurely meal without hovering. Looking forward to my next meal here and will save room for dessert on my next visit!

Best Appetizer...Simply "Bacon" over cole slaw. Ridiculously great. Beautiful renovation and best steaks south of Providence!

Came here last night on a whim. It was jam packed and we didn't make a reservation so we ate at the bar. Our bartender was amazing. Very attentive, funny and on the ball. My mom and I had the tenderloin steak sandwich- by far the best steak sandwich I've ever had. It was juicy filet mignon, caramelized onions and delicious goat cheese. They cooked both of our steaks perfectly. My dad ordered the french dip- he raved about- and the sauce. We ordered edamame for an appetizer and for something that usually lacks flavor, this was screaming with flavor. It was sautéed in sesame oil and sprinkled with salt. The fresh bread and cinnamon butter that came before the meals was outstanding too. All in all- we will definitely be going back. You get what you pay for- excellent food, great staff, awesome place!

I love how this place is open relatively late. We were greeted by very attractive hostesses who were wearing matching color dresses: a nice added touch! Loved the warm bread with the cinnamon butter. The NE Clam Chowder wasn't anything to write home about, however, the French Onion Soup looked pretty good. I ordered the scallops which were a decent sized portion. The risotto was seasoned perfectly. Overall, very good. Desserts were great, too. I think the Carrot Cake was NOT baked on premises. It looked too perfect! Either way, it was delicious. Free valet parking too, easy on and off to major roads. Score.

Service from Michael was top notch! Thank you. We had a fairly large group and he was on it. The drinks flowed endlessly...he made great wine suggestions and the food was THE BOMB! This should be a go go go ...and go often. Oh..and my colleagues thought the waitresses were all gorgeous!

They've taken Casey's, painted it a Nautical Grey, decorated it with blown up old postcards of Narragansett and limited the menu. Toned down, with fabric napkins and set up for wine the restaurant has also been changed in that the bar does not dominate the middle of the restaurant like it used to. It is against the back wall now and the tables occupy the glassed in solarium and the dining room to the right of the door. I didn't notice if there were tables behind the foyer. The waiters and waitresses are dressed as if each is a Garçon and are very attentive. Although this seems to be a classier type of restaurant people in all casual types of dress were seated throughout. Obviously it's not the college hangout it used to be. Although there are 7 beef choices (the prime rib is offered on Wednesday,) there is also a Roasted Lamb Rack. Still Mom ordered a Caesar Salad $5.95 (Romaine Lettuce, Herb Croutons, Shaved Grana Padana, Anchovy Dressing.) And the Chicken & Penne Alla Vodka $15.95 (Chicken, Marinara Vodka Cream Sauce.) I ordered the Roasted Statler Chicken Breast $19.95 (A Chicken Breast with Wing attached, Red Bliss Mashed Potato, Roast Asparagus and Marsala wine sauce with what I think were shiitake mushrooms.) Online the menu claims that the Roasted Statler Chicken Breast has Savory Fall Bread Pudding, Sauteed Escarole, Maple Fennel Pan Jus and the special that day the waitress recited to me had it with coconut rice and some other kind of sauce that I was not interested in. Mom enjoyed the Chicken pasta dish, I thought it lacked the tang of vodka that I like it to have but the fresh basil popped and the sauce coated the penne well. I really enjoyed the dark rich marsala sauce that came with the Roasted Statler Chicken especially since the mashed potatoes were partially covered in it. The asparagus snapped but was cooked through and I enjoyed the slight crusting of salt and char. I tried Mom's Caesar salad and the cheese was delicious, a bit sweeter than the usual salty dryness of fresh parmesan and not slopped with dressing. The dishes were lovely and homey and welcome cold weather fare. Noted: when we came in and ordered our drinks (iced tea with no sweetener on the tables, and diet Coke,) a bread board with a small loaf of warm crusty bread and a whipped slightly sweetened butter came out shortly afterwards. It was a gratifying touch. As my Mother commented, "A nice place to take friends from out of town to. Not somewhere I'd frequent." n the survey section it is asked if there is a television. There was one in the wall but thankfully it was off.

My husband and I went with another couple and I ordered pan seared scallops and they ordered salmon. All was perfectly cooked and delicious. The portions are not huge, but adequate. This restaurant seems to cater more to steak lovers. I was somewhat confused by the menu because they had sandwiches with french fries and yet are only open for dinner. This is NOT an inexpensive restaurant and seems to be trying to appeal to a more upscale crowd than the college kids when it was formerly Casey's. I would suggest removing the sandwiches and fries (cheapens the menu) and add a few other entrees Fish? Overall, it was a good experience. I really liked the atmosphere; nice decor, but not overly elegant, more beachy. The service was EXCELLENT!! Great staff.

This hole in the wall place on the busy Tower Hill section of Wakefield is really not to bad at all. Its has a nice menu that has a variety of anything you are in the mood for. It's not just a steak and burger joint. It has 3 or 4 Italian dishes, typical seafood favorites for this area, and a nice variety of apps...I went there and had their 9 oz burger that came with all kinds of fixen's on it, and was excellent. And, with it coming with fries for $10.00, it is one of the best burgers and bargains to be had in the state. In fact their whole menu is very fair in my opinion. A look around to some of the other plates and patrons gave me the impression they were all satisfied and having a good time. All in all perhaps not one of the nicest rides, but definitely worth checking out. My only gripe with the place is the complimentary valet parking. I really hate it when a restaurant that isn't fancy enough or has bad enough parking pulls that crap. It may be complimentary, but unless you want to look like a cheap slob you have to tip them. It's not the money mind you, its the idea that I feel forced into the extra expense for no good reason. I parked across the way and avoided it. Think as you may about being called cheap, but it is purely principle with me when paying someone to park my 14 year old truck... Other than the valet issue, a fine choice for a good meal at a very fair price...

This was my first trip to the state of Rhode Island. I've heard about all of the 'iconic' aspects of the state and especially the coastal area. My goal...? Eat as many lobster rolls as possible (and other seafood fares) as the concept of 'fresh' seafood to a individual from the mid-west seems difficult to comprehend. Enter; the Chophouse Grille. Obviously, not coastal but easy to find, just off of the 1 highway and featuring generous parking. I was informed of this restaurant and it's 'soft' Grand Opening by my friends who have a background knowledge of the Chophouse GM (previously associated with 22 Bowens, Trio, et al). Okay - new place, new staff, new menu... what's not to enjoy as the excitement in a situation such as this, alive with energy and optimism!? Upon entering, we were greeted by a view of a unique dichotomy. It felt as though it was the introduction of rural meets industrial/nautical. The rich dark wood of the table tops and some of the most unique treatment of wooden walls I've seen in a 'grille' vs. a high end restaurant. Brick, iron and above all, wood... barn wood that came from the mountains of Colorado. I perceived it as a tip of the hat to the steakhouse concept and theme - "Chophouse." Our server was friendly and extremely informative about not only the menu but the vibe of the new digs. Beverage menu was very entertaining. The "Dark and Stormy" (seemingly, a staple of the bars of the area) was a unique walk on the wild side for my introduction into ginger beer and rum. Amazing and refreshing and... 'yes, I'll have another.' After looking over the menu, I'm not sure which direction to turn as I've been eating a fair amount of seafood since my arrival several days prior. Keeping in mind my 'goal...' it was a challenge not going straight for the iconic lobster roll on the menu, but I didn't see it, not right away, at least. The party of four had some tough decisions to make as the menu seemed to create a long, intensive discussion of "this or that." Starters: We decided on sharing two 'appetizers' (could be served as a full meal). The yellow-fin tuna tartare = absolutely amazing and the shrimp & corn fritters were a unique, refreshing surprise! All of this, and I was able to keep up with my goal of continuing my seafood binge for the week. Main course: I found my lobster roll, it was cleverly disguised as a lobster panini! What a wonderful twist on the old favorite! To this point, I hadn't met a lobster roll I didn't like and this panini just took the prize away from all of the previous contenders. Others in our party were not disappointed with their choices either. Selections included the grilled swordfish, pan roasted little necks with linguini (which were a little sandier than she would have liked - but it was the first time with this dish so she was not certain if this was a common aspect of this dish) and my buddy ordered the bone-in NY Strip. I'm assuming this was pretty enjoyable as he didn't speak all that much as he just smiled with his eyes rolling back in his head with some moaning sounds. Dessert: We decided to do some sharing as we were all 'at the point' if you know what I mean... The chocolate cake was remarkable. Not too sweet but extremely flavorful. My favorite, the carrot cake was as good as I have ever had. The service was very friendly and highly acceptable and as I mentioned, the drinks were very satisfying. As you might have factored into this experience, our evening wasn't cheap but when is a fine dining experience ever cheap. I'm a firm believer in the adage - 'you get what you pay for' and in this case, I can honestly say we got our money's worth. Frankly, this experience along with our day trip to Newport were the highlights of our week in the SO-CO experience. When the opportunity presents itself, I'm definitely making this apart of my return visit to the Wakefield/Narragansett area!

The renovations were definitely worth the wait. It is great that the restrooms have been moved from their previous central location in the bar. We had a light dinner after an early afternoon party so we weren't overly hungry. The chicken panini was bland to say the least. (Lots of dry bread.) The French onion soup was tasty but I couldn't get past my food envy. Our neighbors had what appeared to be the chopped salad which clearly was being enjoyed. We will have to try again when we can go hungrier, lighter fare options are seriously limited.

I'm giving this 3 stars based on the ambience, the drinks, and the service. I can't really speak for the food. This is a steakhouse, of which I do not partake. I had been there for drinks on several occasions and was so impressed with the atmosphere and the service that I thought it was time to try it for dinner. Unfortunately, there's not much on the menu for me. I'm not a meat eater, but I do enjoy fish. They're a bit overpriced on the few seafood dishes that they offer and quite frankly I'd much prefer the Matunuck Oyster House for seafood. So..I got a little daring and tried the Pad Thai with tofu. I thought this would be very chancy, because really one should only order Pad Thai in a thai restaurant. Well, I should have stuck with that reality. Big mistake! Worse "pad thai" I have ever had. Actually, it was probably one of the worse dishes I've ever had. I don't know what this creation was, but it certainly was NOT pad thai. It missed on the key ingredients and added something awful which gave it an overpowering vinegary flavor. The tofu was overcooked and mushy. Just awful! All three of us had this dish and are in agreement that it should be removed from their menu. Bottom line, I will go back for drinks and nibble on their wonderful bread with the honey sweet butter, but I won't be so daring the next time.

Food was outstanding and the service was quick and amazing. It was a nice and peace place. The menus were a little to big, but that was the only thing bad about it. The food came out quick. There was music that was on point. The seats were very comfortable. there was very very nice detail in the whole place

Wow, way more than I expected. Sat at the bar, great service and a friendly bartender. My steak was fantastic which is a huge recommendation as I live in NYC. This is the best food In this part of RI, I will go back for sure. PS: Nice job on the interior !

In view of the glowing reviews I expected more. It is expensive and a step up from the prior restaurant, but not really "upscale." tempura shrimp were in a heavy batter and raw inside. There are better places.

Not sure how the food is, but when I saw a waitress walking out of the kitchen with a tray of (what looked like clams casino's) and one fell on the floor, she bent over, picked it up, put it BACK on the plate and proceeded to serve it to the unknowing diner!!!! God's truth! Needless to say, I chugged my beer and left hungry but glad that I didn't eat there.

Finally got a chance to eat at the Chophouse last night with my husband and our two good friends . We were amazed at the transformation ! We sat in the dining room to the right when you walk in our sever Kelsey told us it was called the main dining room and explained the rest of the rooms to us as well . We immediately told her we hadn't had a night out in a while and did not want to be rushed , she was great ! She told us she wanted is to feel like we were at home and to take our time . It is so nice to not feel like you are just a tip , and to be rushed out to move the table !! Kelsey suggested a few of her favorites , my friend and I split a chopped salad and we shared a calamari for the table , I explained my allergy to onion and she assured us it would be noted on our slip and properly cared for , very comforting when you have an allergy ! Appetizers were great !! We then had 2 filets , scallops and a sword fish dish that we're melt in your mouth ! And the warm bread pudding --- heaven ! We had an overall wonderful time at dinner , from the friendly greeting when we walked in the door to our awesome server , and delicious drinks and food ! We can't wait to come back with our out of state friends , what a welcomed change to our area !

I took my family of 6 to the Chophouse grill last night and was amazed by the renovations that had been done since Casey's closed. The restaurant has been beautifully renovated and a new bar has been put upstairs. Our server was excellent and very courteous, he just seemed overwhelmed by his workload. I was disappointed in general with the food. The clams casino was just OK and the ceasar salads were very acidic. The shrimp cocktail was very small considering the $3.25 per price tag. My prime rib was very good, but my wife's Salmon looked more like an overcooked piece of chicken. We were seated upstairs next to the bar and it was incredibly noisy, almost like a college bar atmosphere. The total tab was over $330 (with a limited bar tab) , OK for a fine dining restaurant, buy clearly too much for the food, and establishment that we were in. I will be hard pressed to go back. I'm not quite sure what clientele the restaurant is trying to attract , but with the current pricing, it's clearly not a "family "restaurant .

Great food! Totally remodeled the old Casey's restaurant. The owner Charlie Sammaras is the former owner of Charlie O's . He has done an incredible job with his beautiful restaurant. The steak was awesome as was the scallops. Drinks were well made and service excellent. Five stars all the way.

I have been to the ChopHouse Grille several times. It is a busy place and can be a little noisy but the food is always very good. I have not yet tried the steaks but the meat loaf is great as is the lobster roll. Ribs were a little spicy for me. Would definitely recommend.

Delicious! We had a great experience here two nights ago. From the delectable calamari to the burger to the filet mignon everything was cooked fantastically. The ambience is rustic and modern, great for a date night or a casual gathering with friends. Our server was so sweet and attentive and you can't beat their warm bread and cinnamon butter!

My filet was so salty it burned my mouth. And the asparagus fries were so bland i couldn't eat them. Server could care less and did nothing about it. Will not be going back again. Too expensive for no reason.
