Oh my but I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. The owners are these fabulous gay men who are chatty and fun and interesting, and their B&B is brightly colored and wonderfully decorated. They also make some of the best breakfasts I've ever had, and I've stated in a lot of B&Bs. The only reason I haven't gone back is I haven't come up with a good excuse to go back to Newport, despite it being a wonderful little town with a lot of interesting things to do. There's just a thousand other places in New England I could say the same thing about.

I stayed at Inn Bliss for a wedding with some friends over the week of July 4th and I have to say that while we enjoyed the town of Newport, we felt mislead about the house overall. It was NOT made clear in advance that the "living areas" are actually just small rooms off of the main rooms that do not have doors (by the way, there is no door to the upstairs bathroom either so I hope you are comfortable with your co-renters!) It was disappointing that this was not made clear, as we were travelling with numerous couples who would have liked to have some privacy. There was trash from the previous tenant before we arrived. Call me crazy but when a guest is paying good money to rent a home, I feel it is the owner's responsibility to get rid of the previous tenant's trash, ESPECIALLY if it is a holiday week and the trash pickup was cancelled! We were told that the house had a hot tub which was one of the appealing factors to our group. The hot tub indeed did not work. The owner's excuse was that it was "beach weather" so who needs a hot tub anyway. Yeah that is totally irrelevant to me. if you advertise something as appealing as a hot tub, we should have been informed it wasn't working. And for the record, a hot tub would have been wonderful at night, when we were not at the beach. But I digress. The owner accused us of breaking some mirror, which we did not do, and which he admitted could have been done by the previous tenants. The owners also complained that we "used the wrong dishware and left them in the wrong places"- apparently certain plates were not to be used? Um, you run a bed and breakfast where people stay and cook for themselves- if you don't want people to use something I suggest not leaving it in the house where we are living for a week! Finally, be warned that you are not given extra towels so I recommend bringing your own. We stayed for almost a week and when we asked the owners if we could get fresh towels he snidely directed us to a laundromat. Is it too much to ask to request an extra couple of towels? Are you expected to do your own laundry at a hotel? I have never once stayed at a place that asked me to scrub down the counters, sweep the floor, strip the beds, run the dishwasher, etc. Um then why did we pay a $300 cleaning fee? We certainly cleaned up as best as we could but frankly with the money we spent on this place we shouldn't have had to do the housekeeper's job. While we loved the town of Newport, we did not appreciate how the owners treated us. We are a nice, respectful group of people and I guess I was just surprised that this was less of a hotel or B&B experience and more of a do-it-yourself type place. We were in town for a good friend's wedding and were busy with wedding festivities all week, the last thing we wanted to worry about was cleaning and doing laundry on our vacation!

I rented this house over the 4th of July and am very disappointed in the way the owner handled several situations - he would not take responsibility or any problem or issue we had. Additionally, I found his manner to be snarky and rude! 1) Broken hot tub When we arrived we were notified that the hot tub was broken. After our stay I asked for a marginal refund for the out of use hot tub ($100 out of the $3,700 we paid) he came back saying it's not really his fault and "it was more beach weather than hot tub weather anyway" and with ridiculous allegations that we broke some picture frame (we did not brake anything!!!). What's funny before I asked for the small refund, he gave us our full security deposit back and asked for us to return next summer. No mention of this frame... 2) Smelly old trash left from previous tenants There was a giant mountain of trash outside the house from the guests before us which was never cleaned up the 4.5 days we were there - so smelly! His response? We should have rented the house for longer and then we'd be there on the day the trash was removed. Uhh... 3) Wet towels I asked the owner if we needed to bring our own towels for showering. He said he'd supply us with towels, he gave us 1/person. Due to the humidity our towels wouldn't dry. I explained the situation and asked for new towels - his response was to go to the laundromat. 4) Check out list/instruction manual The instruction manual and check out lists were absurd. The list of rules/regulations must have been 10 pages long and extremely anal-retentive. I've rented many houses and never seen anything like this. Additionally, we paid $300 for a cleaning fee but the check out manual instructed us to strip all the beds, remove the trash from every bedroom and bathroom, sweep, wipe down the counters, etc. Kind of ridiculous (again, never seen instructions like this in any other house rental with a cleaning fee) Shouldn't this be the cleaners job?

The place is nice but beware of giving your credit card to these people. I was quoted a price over the phone, and told it was all inclusive, a flat $299. I confirmed this again while checking out, and the owner said he would charge my card $299. When I got my bill, I was charged another $50 for taxes and a 'credit card surcharge'. The owner never emailed me a receipt, and now I know why. It's disappointing, their lack of ethics.

I rented this house with a group of friends this month and we all found ourselves very disappointed. Just to name a few... the garbage was not removed from the previous tenants. When we approached the owner he was rather blaze` about that topic. Being a hot and humid week in the summer it was very unpleasant to have no trash removed for a week. Additionally, only one bath towel was provided per person. For a 5 day stay this presented quite a problem as towels we not able to dry in the humid conditions. Again, when the owner was approached about this his response was simply rude - suggesting we take some time and visit the local laundry mat. I don't consider this a reasonable response given it was our vacation and he was well aware of the amount of people staying in his home as well as the length of our stay. Among other things the hot tub which was advertised was broken (again, no apology or willingness to refund us a nominal amount). When it came to the detailed rules and instructions WE as guests, had to follow, he stuck to his guns and was fixated on menial particulars that shouldn't even come up when guests are paying a large amount of money to stay at an inn (strip the beds, empty every trash can, turn on the dish washer, etc. etc.) but when it came to major aspects of operating the inn... he turned a blind eye. I know that personally, none of us would stay there again.
