Loved it! Located on a quiet side street right by the wharf, so you can walk to bars and good restaurants such as The Mooring. Excellent cooked breakfast and 5:00 wine and cheese! We met some really nice guests and slept incredibly well in the comfie bed. Plantation room is small and it was cold..so not sure why the heat wasn't turned up, but then again had the luck of being in Newport on the coldest day on record in April. 85 bucks on Expedia -- a steal!!

The Almondy Inn is a great little B&B near all the action of Newport Harbor. While I think it is a bit overpriced - like most everything in Newport, I have no complaints about our stay. The Blue Bay room was lovely, and we even had partial views of the harbor and bridge (lit at night - it is gorgeous). Evelyn and Herber are charming hosts. They lovingly restored the house with antiques and beautiful moldings. The room was clean and the Jacuzzi tub large and excellent. The 4 poster bed was beautiful with comfortable mattress- though it was slightly sinking toward the middle. The breakfast was delicious. Evelyn made blueberry pancakes. She smartly adds a touch of lemon zest and vanilla to create a light, yummy pancake. There was bacon and fresh fruit on the plate. She also had wonderful cappuccino muffins with white choc. chips. The coffee was superb - none of the dishwater we had at Ivy Lodge at few years ago. We enjoyed talking with other guests - including a couple from Denmark. We hated to leave. Benjamin's was around the corner- a terrific little restaurant. 'Location is truly marvelous. We will return. At least repeat guests receive 10% off!

This was the first B&B for my wife of 20 years and my first in nearly 25 years. We stayed in the Blue Bay Room, which was comfortable and quaint. The gas fireplace next to our bed got some good use, as it was rather cold outside during our weekend stay in November 2014. Evelyn is a gracious host and quite personable. The only downside is my wife is not a breakfast person, so we had to skip one of the morning meals. The cheese and crackers is a nice touch before heading out for the evening. A big plus is the location, which is just steps from Thames Street, where most of the action is. We will definitely stay here again during our next visit.

This is my first bed&breakfast place and I love it! Everlyn and Herber are the sweetest owners and full of suggestions too. Breakfasts is fabulous there because everlyn puts her heart into her cooking. So I booked the blue bay book for new year eve and since its my first time, I wasn't sure of what to expect. I wasn't disappointed at all. The place is beautiful and cozy. its great and close by everything. I love it! There's parking in the back and side of the house too so I didn't have to look for parking. Alot of Restaurants are walking distance so there's plenty to choose from. I will be back!!

Wonderful, hospitable, comfortable, enjoyable, friendly!! I am sure I could find more terms to describe this excellent bed and breakfast in Newport. We will definitely return, probably with a group of friends and family. The location is perfect; just off the main road so it is quiet, but easily close enough to walk into town. We were met by the owner who gave is a detailed tour of the place. She was very friendly and helpful, giving us great tips for dining within walking distance. The free onsite parking is a definite plus. Our room as very comfortable and cozy. The bed was perfect. After walking around Newport, we returned for wine and cheese with some of the other guests. The Inn's oner joined is while we exchanged stories, discussed our travel plans and generally got to know each other. This was extremely enjoyable and a much welcomed benefit of staying at the Almondy Inn. We walked into town for dinner. Nice. Breakfast in the morning was real treat. We were served a hot dish which was delicious. The coffee was reasonably strong. Nothing was too much trouble. All I can say is: "Love it!"

My boyfriend and I decided to take a quick last minute trip to Newport for the weekend. It was the first time either of us had visited, so we weren't completely sure that we had picked the correct place to stay. We couldn't have picked a better place. We were upgraded upon arrival due to a cancellation by another couple. Our room (the Blue Bay Room) was perfect - amazing bed, fireplace, small seating area, and a huge jacuzzi tub. There were DVDs and books on loan, and a fun wine and cheese hour from 5-6pm. Evelyn, the innkeeper, is absolutely lovely. She's an amazing host and a wonderful cook (and even accommodated my vegetarian needs vs. my boyfriend's meat loving tastes). The location could not be more perfect - less than 5 min walk from Bannister's wharf and other restaurants and shops. We will absolutely be staying here again. Thanks, Evelyn!

We love to visit Newport when on the east coast, and staying at the Almondy Inn was a delight. The breakfasts were fantastic and the afternoon wine tastings were terrific. Our room had the perfect blend of old world charm and modern convenience. Parking was easy, which is not always easy to to in downtown Newport. Evelyn is a delight to speak with.

The Almondy turned out to be a great experience. They have on site parking, which is a real blessing in the crowded streets of Newport, particularly so close to the center of town. We were greeted warmly by our hosts and our arrival occurred just in time for the nightly informal gathering for wine and cheese. This turned out to be a fun event each evening giving us time to meet and chat with the others staying at the Almondy. Our room was small but clean and well suited for our needs with a HOT shower (which I like). Breakfast was amazing! Evelyn is a wonderful cook. We were planning to skip breakfast on the second day because we had a brunch to attend at 11:30, but after the first day we decided we had to at least sample it. I ate all of mine anyway!

My fiancee and I (not engaged at the time) stayed at the Almondy Inn when we visited Newport to do the Mansion Tours during the Holidays. We had a great stay. Evelyn was great. It was very hospitable, clean, and quiet. We had a great room and the in is in a great location. When we go back to Newport, The Almondy will be the first place we call!
