I wouldn't say the place was horrible, as other reviews have stated, it's just nothing to talk about. It was also on the expensive side. I think we paid almost $5 for a waffle cone. I doubt I'd go back if I am ever back in the area. We actually only stopped in because the place we wanted to go to was closed.

Our family loves Tropic Frost! Something about this rainbow colored shack gives us complete joy!!! Best place on earth. Truly. Better than Disney world. Don't forget to check your sprinkles!

First, please appreciate how awful an ice cream place would have to be for me to take the time to write a negative review. I am pretty easy to please in the ice cream department, and my expectations for a rainbow colored shack in the middle of nowhere are already very average to low. For a kiddie waffle cone with one scoop and jimmes, one serving of soft serve in a bowl and one small shake, the total was over $12. That's $4 each. For this, I expect average to above average quality, especially when they have signs bragging about how everything they sell is made in Rhode Island like they are this great locally sourced place. I could not drink my shake because it was the worst shake I've ever had- melted watery stuff- and worse, the milk or ice cream or whatever was slightly soured. I didn't try the kid's but I have a very tough time believing that every ingredient was sourced in RI to acquire the electric blue in the cotton candy ice cream. To add insult to injury, the surly teenager was very curt. The first two flavors of ice cream I asked for were not available. Just go somewhere else...it's awful.

I went to this place twice and will NEVER go back! There ice cream is over priced and they give you this tiny serving which costs $5 and don't even think about asking for sprinkles, they hardly put any on! I gave the ice cream girl a tip and she gave me attitude because it was only 75 cents. There is a much better ice cream place Dow the street on the way to the town beach.

less than mediocre ice cream i was staying down the street from this ice cream shop for a week and i went the first night i was on vacation, went with 5 people and we all agreed that the icecream sucked and wasn't any good at all. two days later i decided to go back a second time to give them another chance and i got one of the homemade soft serve and it was supposed to be pistachio, didnt taste like it at all. do not go here. go to cumberland farms and save some money or go to the supermarket!
