Customer service leaves very much to be desired. Food could have been much much much better, especially for the price. It was a bit pricey, but if the food was good it could have been justified. We visited this place only because we were staying at the nearby hotel and the hotel had a flyer in the room that offered 10% off. I wish we had not gone here. Moreover, I wish I had visited yelp prior to going. Had no idea someone had posted a pic of the restaurant being closed for insect/rodent infestation in november 2013. Yes, that was several months ago, but still.... Not a place I will ever return to.

Typical buffet. Okay food, but a little pricy for what they offer. The interior looks great. I can't say that about all the people that work there though. There were a couple people working there with what looked like dirty hands. Such a turn off when eating out! I went with a friend in between lunch and dinner times and I must say that they were doing a booming business. Maybe that's unusual for this place, but regardless, they should always keep their food replenished. However, they kept running out of the basics (chicken lo mein, General Tso, fried rice) which was disappointing. I'd give this place a second chance, but I don't think I'll rush back anytime soon.

I like this place....nice selection for lunch. Keep your eyes open around 2 pm they start switching over for dinner so the options change. Food seems fresh and there is a nice selection of 'clean eats' if you are trying to watch your waist line. All the dishes I tried were nicely flavored/spiced. Look for the pineapple/coconut custard 'thingy' in phyllo dough....YUMMY good.

There is something about going to a place where the people there are usually self indulgent, over weight and just there to stuff themselves silly without a care in the world. I often try to stay away from a place that offers a food orgy for a reasonable price. I am usually suspect of a place that can have such an array of food for the prices offered. I also wonder about the amount of people that are needed to eat constantly in order to ensure the freshness of the food displayed on the buffet. I have found that the times I have been here there is a crowd and the crowd seems to dictate the freshness of the items on the food bar. The food goes quickly and the items offered are pretty tasty. I do like the wanton and hot & sour soups offered. They also have a section where you can create your own dish Mongolian style. There is a large salad and fruit section with a dessert bar as well. I am not a fan of buffets but this place is pretty decent for the price and the quality seems to be pretty good. If you are in the mood for a decent Chinese buffet, check this place out when you get the chance. Thanks for reading my review. Please remember this is my personal opinion.

Incredible food selection - including sushi. The price is low, even for a buffet. This is by far the best buffet in York. My family eats there whenever we're in the area. For those on a diet, you can stick with the sushi and other healthy entrees. The choice is incredible!

Great sushi bar. Wife loves the Bbq grill. Food is excellent and good quality, Service is always friendly/courteous and helpful and keeps your beverage glass full. Not a bad seat in the house. Atmosphere is awesome with positive music in background. Sushi bar is special as well as the grill. Seems like there is never a wait for seats and no buffet lines even when busy. We love it. Best buffet in county.

They had one guy working the hibachi/sushi/noodle soups. The guy made me hibachi which wasn't terrible but not good. there was only 3 types of sushi sitting out but you could order a roll if the guy was there. He wasn't the second time I came around. The 3rd time I came was for some udon soup and the guy says "10 minutes, go away, come back". Not gonna wait 10 minutes for udon soup. Needs more workers at the station than that one guy. General tso's was the only good thing. Ice cream was dull and messy. Hardly any desserts. American food was lacking. Chicken soup was just that, no noodles in the soup. Aroma's had a much better sushi bar and desserts, chocolate fountain, and cup ice cream. York was definitly a dirtier place than Aromas. Chinese food was better here at york but seriously lacking in choice department and the bar in the back was weak. For the price of York it totaled to 15.45 with a soda. Aromas is around 14 dollars with a drink.

Much bigger than the ones around Lancaster, they have such a huge selection of all kinds of foods. I dunno what else to say about this. Plus you're right next to the Galleria Mall and other places! I say this is the best place to get Chinese food!

Food is very good and always fresh due to the amount of customers. Very large selection. This is what a buffet should be like! I would highly recommend!

Would have been a five star if all the food had been hot. Food was good, service was good, all around we had a good experience.. It's a typical Chinese buffet so don't go expecting any kind of luxury. We got 2 buffets with water for $14 so lunch price isn't outrageous.

Usually stay away from most buffets, but the food here is always fresh, the selection is great: huge salad bar, great selection of sushi, dim sum, Chinese and American foods. Prices are reasonable, people are friendly, and CCM is the canned music!

I've had worse! Honestly, the food isn't all that bad. Your typical Chinese American buffet choices. I like to take advantage of the hibachi grill, always fresh and tastes pretty good. I love sushi and they have some here, but not much of a selection and nothing is labeled so often you don't know what you're getting. My big issue with this place is the service. Our waiters/waitresses are usually pretty good, they keep drinks full and clear plates. But the last time I was here, if I wanted something made on the hibachi grill, it was as if I was bothering him. Same when I asked for a sushi roll to be made (same guy doing both). Never a smile or a "you're welcome". If you hate your job, quit, but no need to take it out on customers. Needless to say, I won't be back. There are other options in York and Lancaster if you don't mind the drive.

We read the reviews. This place is really good. The selection is very good. Lots of seafood, beef, chicken dishes. Everything is fresh and tasty. Lots of raw choices. Sushi, half shells. Great salad bar. The desserts are slim but after everything else i didn't really care. We will definitely be back.

Yikes. York Buffet is the smallest, dirtiest and most disgusting buffet I have ever eaten at. I'm not much of a buffet fan to begin with but this was just ew. Stopped in for lunch and it wasn't very packed. Understandably so, that the food tasted as if it had been sitting there for hours untouched. All the food was practically dried out, the General Tso's could have almost passed for a nasty Orange Chicken and the sushi rice was crusty and had a very fishy taste. Overall, I think the price I paid was far more than I would have ever wanted to give to this establishment. Locals always praise A-Won Buffet and I am sad they went out of business, before I got to try ti out. Let's just hope that whatever opens in that space, will deter people away from this place and give them a taste of something that actually resembles Asian food.

I am not sure where to begin here, do I discuss the taste, quality or service. The food was very bland in my opinion. My stir fry was very watery and bland. The sauces used on it seemed very watered down. My potstickers were crunchy and also bland. My general Tao's chicken was very mild and soggy. My egg drop soup was surprisingly bland as well. This may be par for the course though. I never was offered a refill on my drink though it was empty for quite a while. I was billed for the dinner rate though I came in before the dinner rate started. The dinner food was not available until I left. Not too happy about that. All in all, I will never be back. There are so many good Chinese options in York that this doesn't compare with.

I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews about this place. Maybe it was bad at the time, I don't know. All I can say is that the prices are good, the selection is good and as far as I could see, the place was clean. What else do you want? They have a small selection of sushi, and a BBQ Grill. Buffet price was under 8 bucks. I have learned to ignore most of the terrible reviews I read. It's a shame. I don't know what people are expecting for an $8 buffet. I like it, and recommend it.

We've been a few times, lunch with the kids. It's the usual buffet with a little what they call "sushi" thrown in. Our visit there tonight will be our last. We arrived an hour before closing, it's Sunday but tomorrow is a holiday so lots of people there. We noticed that they were not bringing new food out, they were putting things away. The staff started arguing amongst themselves. Pretty soon there were two tables left, us and one other family. My son and husband had just come back to the table when a waiter came to ask us if were we finished eating. We said yes. They went to the other table and asked them the same question. Within seconds we were surrounded by throngs of staff, cleaning, throwing things around, throwing buckets of bleach water on the floor. I've never seen anything like it in my life. I've worked in the restaurant business in the past and while I realize the buffet side of things is a little different, this was totally unacceptable. We made a decison, not a tough one, that that was our last visit to York Buffet. We should have gone to Wendy's across the street. Not worth the $15 per person. Especially knowing that the food at a buffet is already the lowest common denominator, we didn't need to spend our entire time there being pushed out the door and then watching them clean before they were even closed. Totally unprofessional and terrible food - unless you like texas toast and melted sherbert ;-)

I agree, don't go! I tried three kinds of chicken dishes. All tasted the same, and flavor seemed to be masked with what resembles the flavor black jelly beans have. General sos included, was not spicy. Food appeared to have been in buffet a while. People returning to buffet with original plate, and after a big group left all they did was wipe table down with a damp towel. We won't go back. ICK!

This place is too crowded, too noisy and the staff is rude. My last visit there, an employee cut right in front of me, actually pushing me aside to refill one of the buffet items. The food is not the best buffet food around and I'd prefer to go elsewhere. The price is also higher than my preferred buffet. I really can't recommend this place.

Came here while visiting a friend in the area and this place was more than acceptable. Decent selection of food but sub par sushi.

I went here to meet a party of 16 - yeah 16! I figured 6 or 8, but we all had a side room with four tables and were not crowded together at all. I like the fact that you can get crab legs, but for the price you should probably just go somewhere that does crab legs right. They have a wide variety of foods including the usual chinese stuff- low mein and General Tso's, but they have fruit and salad and sushi with some pot stickers and dim sum too. I don't think anything I had really impressed me, but it didn't gross me out either. Be warned if you get the sweet tea it is SWEET! It is about 16 sugars in a pint...I diluted with a whole pint of water and it was still too sweet. I found the service to be decent -taking away our dirty dishes and puttying up with our sometimes loud group. They give plenty of drink refills and the food is kept hot and items are replenished well. I think it is ok, but again the value is not really there- 2 of us spent $28 +tip.

Two words. Don't go!! After being rushed to our table by a very rude hostess we were met by our waitress who did not even give us a chance to get to our table let alone sit down or put our items down before asking what we wanted to drink. Not one employee smiled or engaged in conversation in any way. What a miserable group of workers. How could there be a buffet with such a variety of food choices and not one eatable thing on it?? And how could this place be so busy with the food being so bad?? The egg drop soup had no flavor and that was one of the better things we tried. I tried the salmon but had to push it to the side along with the other seafood because I was afraid I would get sick. Fried rice was bad funny taste, the chicken with bacon wrap dry could not even eat it, bacon not cooked. Scary!! I could go on and on but you get the idea. We could have eaten anywhere in the area for the same price and I sure wish we did. We agreed we will never eat there again and you shouldn't either. Save your money for a good meal!!

I have eaten here often but today had a horrible experience, there was actually mold on the food and when I made them aware they didn't even take it out! Makes me wonder what's going on in the kitchen, needless to say I will not go back here again!

This place is excellent. The food is great. There lunch price for all you can eat is very reasonable. I've tried other buffets around York, and this is my go to when I want Chinese.
