I always enjoy coming here! Gotta be in a mood for sandwiches though. And the sandwiches are not your normal, but they are delicious. The kids meal is cheap and includes a lot! Great atmosphere!

1- Ordered the Rueben sandwich and it was one of the worst beef sandwiches I ever had. Couldn't even chew the meat and felt like it was from last week. 2- Employees were rude and shaking there heads when I asked for a refund.

Two words: pretzel buns. I grew up going here and every time I visit my parents, we always go back. The pickled vegetables in lieu of bread is fantastic (who doesn't love picked corn, cauliflower, peppers and carrots??). The sandwiches are delightful and the natural chips (sweet potatoes are by far the greatest) really complement them. The desserts are also fantastic. Oh! and the soup...the best pepperjack tomato soup I have ever tasted. Anyone visiting York or Lancaster needs to go here.

You can NEVER go wrong eating here. Our server was amazing and I live for the gooney bird. The perfect place to go before a movie.

Really interesting restaurant. Don't think I've ever been to a place that just specialized in craft sandwiches. Isaacs really does have something for everyone! I had the chicken pretzel sandwich with no mustard...though I should have gotten it on the side. It was tasty, chicken was tender, and the pretzel bun was perfect. Maybe they should expand to open up in Boston!! :-) The decor reminded me of a Brigham's. Cozy and friendly with good food and great service. My mother in law raved about this place and I'm glad she brought me here :)

I couldn't get my daughter into the place for a couple years but finally we needed a place with small portions. Their sandwiches are good but WOW $24 (without a tip) for two sandwiches smaller than my hand, two sodas and one little serving of pasta salad???? What a ripoff!!!!!! No more in this economy!!!!!! I can get a bigger meal for half that a lot of places and throw half away. How do they stay in business?

Seems that I'm hungry again within 30 minutes of eating here... Sandwich meat portions seem to have gotten smaller but prices are higher... I'd suggest they spend a little less time on the sour pickles and concentrate on providing a heartier sandwich for the prices they charge... Shredded lettuce can't hide a skimpy sandwich!

I've been eating at Isaac's for the past 15 years and I've always had a positive experience. Now that I don't live in York any longer, I try to come by Isaac's whenever I'm home visiting my family, and it's a great place to bring out of town friends to when they are visiting because the menu really has something for everyone. This is a great lunch spot with a huge variety of sandwiches, plus great soups and salad options. I prefer the "make your own" option, which is usually a variation of the twisted chicken on the pretzel roll. The pretzel bread is the perfect size for a sandwich and so delicious and unique to the PA area. The sandwiches are just the right size, not overly large, and come with tasty chips or with a simple green salad. The pickled veggies to start is also a nice touch. Service is always really friendly and they are great about accommodating allergies (gluten, lactose etc.). The restaurant is also a good choice for groups and kids.

Great place for lunch! They really do a lot for the kids and mine love it! Wonderful gluten free selection.

Location: In a strip mall. Normally this isnt an issue with me when looking for a place to grab a bite, a drink, etc, but the traffic/parking around here is absolutely awful. Can never find a parking space. Also, look out for Betty and Gene and all of their friends who can't drive or park their boat of a Cadillac. Staff: Super friendly and rarely wrong with our orders. I work at a nearby business and we often order take out from here...several times a month. They have messed up our order once or twice, and it was remedied immediately. Regina is the manager there and she is very sweet to deal with. Everyone is so nice and quick. Food/price: The prices are a little steep for what you get, but the food is so good! We also signed up for their email list, and a few times a month, they send out some really good coupons, like BOGOs, free drinks, etc. I really like their flatbread pizza, and their pretzel sandwiches. Their unsweetened iced tea is really good too!

Great sandwich shop with a wide variety of choices. I recommend the Mallard and the Shrike. You will have to stop in for the details on those. My wife prefers the Southwest Pizza. They are very versatile building your sandwich your way. I also enjoy the multitude of bread and rolls they offer. You can take your favorite and change it up for next visit. Perhaps the best item on the menu though is the Pepper Jack Tomato Soup. If you are not decided on your meal, have the soup.

Although Isaac's is a chain I can honestly say it has much better food than most competing cafe/shops in the area. The food always tastes fresh. The roughed grouse is pretty good. The sides are a little steep in price as well as the soups but both are tasty. Their club membership sends coupons occasionally for two for one sandwich deals and more.

My wife loves Isaac's. I find it to be "ok" but a bit over-priced. I always feel like I am paying about $1-$2 more than I should. When I leave, the thought I have is that for about the same price I could have eaten....x, y or z.

I go to different Isaac's for business and personal lunches very often. This particular one most often. Everything is always fresh and prepared well. Service is generally great. You can find a cheaper lunch, but you get what you pay for. And the kids love it!

I reviewed one of the other Isaac's locations in York and this is about the same. Good soups and sandwiches. You can build your own sandwich, which can be nice as everything on the menu is named after birds and you have to read the menu in detail to know what is in something. The staff here is friendly and they are usually prompt with getting food ready for take out, which is what I normally do here.

Great sandwiches. Good existing stable of sandwiches, soups, and salads. They also have a great build your own feature. Very clean, and friendly staff.

Went to Issac's on recommendation of a co-worker. Nice enough decor, service was fine and the menu tried to be special-ed up. In the end, I thought the portions were smaller, the sides less and the sandwiches the same as other places, with perhaps a less confusing menu. The price for two for Lunch with two sandwiches (Reuben and a roast beef) with an ice tea and a coffee was $22+ a tip. Probably a better meal from potbelly or Jimmie johns for $18 without a tip and you get a bigger sandwich.

I was heading back to Maryland from a brief stay at the Poconos. As my wife and I were driving home we saw the signs for Isaac's grilled sandwiches. She looked up their website and read the menu. I was interested in the pretzel bread and she loves grilled sandwiches, so we decided to go. When entering the Isaac's I was a little surprised. It had pink flamingos everywhere and it looked like I was at a fast food chain for kids. It was very colorful and the flamingo toys where everywhere. So I bet your saying "What about the food?" My twisted chicken burger with spinach leaves on a pretzel bun was .....average at best. Nothing spectacular about it. They make gourmet burgers which I guess allows them to charge more for them but they are not worth the money. A twisted chicken burger combo (small bag of chips and drink) was around $9. The drink and chips had to be about a $1 each so that means my burger was around $7 by itself. Wanted to give a rating of 2 stars but the customer service here was so nice. They are friendly and quick. They were patient with us while we decided what to get and they even made suggestions to make my experience better. If the prices go down I will be back.

I had the pleasure of taking my wife to her 20 week ultrasound appointment at Apple Hill and we were hungry afterward since we had been shoveling the 20+ inches of snow that we got dumped with on Tuesday evening. The first place she mentioned happened to be where we decided to eat -Isaac's Deli. My Mom is a huge Isaac's fan and they actually know her name at the local one to her in Mechanicsburg. We parked and walked in noticing a special for Valentine's - 2 pretzel sandwiches, 2 cups of soup and a Fudgie Wudgie to share! We were seated quickly and given our complimentary vegetables in vinegar - my wife requested a second which came shortly thereafter. We decided quickly and had our drink order returned fast too. I had a Mallard - Roast beef with Cheddar and mushroom along with Ikey's sauce which is a kind of horseradish mayo. My wife had the 2 sliders option - 1 pulled pork and 1 crab cake on small pretzel rolls with remoulade sauce. The sandwiches were warm, not hot, but tasted great. the chips were the Utz variety assortment with blue potato, sweet potato and reqular kettle cooked. We started the meal off with cups of soup - she had Pepperjack tomato and I had Mexican Fiesta. The tomato was as she described like 'pizza in a bowl' and the Mexican fiesta was topped with tri-colored corn chips and had a pleasant sweet tomato base and was simliar to tortilla soup. It was cheesy and spiced without much heat and had black beans and corn in it. I was very happy with the service as another waitress came by to clear our plates and ask if she wanted a refill. The sundae was requested and brought to us quickly and we dug in. The hot fudge covered brownie was topped with vanilla ice cream, tons of whipped cream and chocolate chips - we destroyed it in no time. The deal was great - $20 for so much food my pants felt tight around my middle afterward. I needed time to let it digest before going out to finish shoveling the driveway and deck when we got home - I was stuffed and well pleased with the experience!

Because I work right by this place people always go there for lunch and as much as I like to share their enthusiasm I just can't seem to get a fresh deli sandwich from the place. The soup in a breadbowl (wish the bread was fresher) is so-so as long as you either like over melted cheese on top or ask them not to put the slice on. The sandwiches for me have always came out a bit sloppy and the greens are rarely fresh. Better than a diner but the quality falls below Panera Bread.

This is my favorite of the local Isaac's in the area - the service is good and the restaurant is clean with ample parking. In case you weren't aware, Isaac's is a soup and sandwich shop with an odd bird theme. Good food, but a little expensive for what you get.
