I ate a late lunch here with a friend today. I wasn't at all impressed. All I ordered was a chicken quesadilla and a margarita and that came to $15.50! Pretty expensive for mediocre food. The drink was good, but very small. I've been to other places that give a margarita twice the size of the one I got here for the same price. The customer service was great but not enough to make me like the food. Needless to say, I won't be back here again.

I ordered the chicken tacos. I'm not really sure how they classify it as a taco because there was no seasoning! It was a fried chicken tender with some lettuce and a couple pieces of a diced tomato on top, wrapped in a flour tortilla. It had no flavor! The floor in this place was so sticky my sandals kept getting stuck to it. I will not be visiting again.

What a great concept....tacos AND donuts....with my addiction to tacos and my wife's for donuts...this place was bound to deliver. They offer a per taco menu, and my wife got the chips and queso....the queso was delicious and the special of the day blt taco was pretty incredible ( although it was bacon...so I can't give the restaurant all of the credit) the brisket and cheeseburger tacos where good... The donuts were good as well and the selection was pretty cool...I had the chocolate jalapeño, and the cinnamon whiskey apple cider....they were fresh and you could tell that they where made with care....not churned out from a dunkin donuts... try it if you pass by....it's worth a nod!

Nice place, friendly staff, excellent food, great value, clean and easy parking. Make sure you try their baked goods even of you have to take it home. The bacon maple donut was fantastic! I had the brisket taco (in AZ we called it shredded beef) it was really good! The hot sauce on the table was really hot and all the fresh ingredients were fresh - no limp lettuce or messy pico. The black beans were good too. I am already recommending this as a great place in Springfield.

Ordered my dinner waited 30 mins and have it come out cold. Told the owner he asked me what I wanted I told him my food cooked and served hot! Then the bartender gave me attitude the rest of the nite! Last time I'll go there! Heard the same from others too! Also knew a guy that worked in the back and the touch raw foods then touch and handle food being sent out to customers!

After going to what was previously known as "Taqueria Del Sol", I swore I would never return, and I didn't. Then about 1 month ago, I noticed a sign for Sweet Taco, and wondered WTHeck that could be, I decided to stop in today. First of all, MAJOR improvement in the menu from before. They now offer salads, as well as more variety, and tacos that now appear to sound more legit than before. Prior offerings included something like "pulled pork tacos" (and I love pulled pork, but REALLY???), and now they all appear to be at least Cali or Tex Mex in origin. I can work with that. What I ordered were 2 tacos (1 brisket, and 1 fish), and some pork green chili. The chili was really good, but the portion was kinda small. The brisket taco was good but kinda bland. And the fish taco was also kinda bland, but much better than when it was at the previous "Taqueria". All in all, a BIG improvement over the previous set-up. And then there's the whole Donut thing... Well, I had the Churro one, and it was good. The other flavours looked enticing, and am looking forward to trying them in due time. And at $1.65/donut, that is pretty fairly priced (Federal charges $2 each, although theirs are slightly tastier). I like the pairing of donuts and Pseudo-Mex! So all-in-all, I am glad to see that this place has re-invented itself by breaking off from the corporate model. Still needs a slight bit of fine tuning, but I'll be back soon enough.

I can't speak for the food, but we did try the donuts. We checked out the website before hand and everything looked and sounded delicious. We were disappointed when we got to the restaurant and the donuts didn't look nearly as impressive in reality, nor were many of the flavors actually available. We still got a variety of flavors to try including margarita, chocolate jalapeño, coconut cream, and Black Forest. The donuts didn't have much more flavor than a plain cake donut. The margarita, for instance, just tasted like a slightly salty donut. I won't bother coming back to try them again.

I've been to sweet taco twice now. It was the name that brought me in. Upon entering, I figured out the reasoning behind the name. Donuts! And tacos! Interesting... so anyway, my fiance and I both had burritos. I don't normally expect to eat a burrito with a knife and fork, but that's how it is served. I had the roasted vegetable burrito and it was barely like warm. The beans were hot, luckily. The rice was cold as well and clumpy. It seemed like it was old or unevenly cooked. I also had chips and salsa. It came with a classic salsa and a salsa verde. The classic salsa had no flavor. It desperately needed salt. My fiance had the cheesesteak burrito. His was also cold. He said it seemed like it had been made in advance and they left it to sit out until it had been ordered. Despite the circumstances, both burritos did have good flavor. They also offer beer, margaritas and fountain sodas. We did not try any donuts, but they did look delicious. Sweet taco is a step up from a taco bell, but I will probably look around for another Mexican restaurant next time.

If you're looking for good Mexican food, Sweet Taco is NOT the place. I tried the pork taco and a brisket taco, both were flavorless and bland. My dining partner tried the nachos, and they were a sorry affair with hardly any toppings and big chunks of lettuce, again, very bland. The salsa (and I'm being generous calling it salsa) was incredibly bad, flavorless, and an odd color - almost tan. Worst salsa ever. Salsa is not difficult to make, so I can't image why they can't even pull a decent salsa together. The chips served with the awful salsa were thin and crisp, and unfortunately, the best item they offered. The guacamole had huge chunks of avacado in it and was passable, at best. Our meals were so bad that we didn't even want to try the donuts, fearing it would be more of the same. If you didn't like Taqueria Del Sol, you won't like Sweet Taco - all they did was change the name and add a few menu items. Also, there are several bottles of hot sauce on each table. I did not use any because the tops of the bottles were so crusted and sticky that it was unappetizing. I guess they do not notice or do not care enough to clean the bottle tops occasionally. I ate here once when it was Taqueria Del Sol, and I swore I'd never go back, well, they changed their name and fooled me a second time, but never again!

The tacos are amazing to say the least. I wish they sold chicken fingers because the chicken in there tacos is amazing, I don't know how anybody's taste buds could think otherwise. Also, the owner is such a nice lady who is always super welcoming. More people need to check out this place and disregard any negative feedback on this site, Sweet Taco is great and also super affordable, I don't find their pricing unreasonable at all. The only thing I'd recommend to change is the variety on the menu, it could use a little more!

The donuts and tacos are good but if you don't like spicy food, this isn't the place for you. Very few tacos don't involve some spicy sauce and they must be premade because you can't order without spice

I'll start off this review by saying we went to Taqueria Del Sol frequently because the food was decent and the place was kid friendly. We were initially upset to learn that Taqueria was no longer, but excited once we heard they just rebranded themselves. We tried Sweet Taco on Friday and the food was pretty bad. The shrimp corn chowder was practically inedible. The black bean soup that we received was so thick, it was practically paste. Three of us got the chicken taco salad and the shredded chicken was bland, the salad was completely overpowered by the lime dressing, and the salad presentation was completely lacking (even for a quick meal out). Mesa Grill, which is right around the corner has a much better chicken taco salad. The best part of our Sweet Taco experience (compared to when it was Taqueria Del Sol) was seeing that they made the restaurant more inviting by adding some decorations and are finally using a number system (as opposed to taking your name). Unfortunately the lackluster food didn't impress us and we won't be going back anytime soon.

I've been here twice now, and won't return. The first time I ordered a burrito and after waiting about 20 minutes, I got the tiniest burrito ever. They didn't have a regular chicken burrito on the menu, so I asked if they would be able to make me one. I think they took it a little too literally because there was only chicken on it, nothing else. I decided to give Sweet Taco another shot. This time I ordered the cheesesteak burrito. I'm not exaggerating at all, I waited 45 minutes and still didn't have my food, so I decided to go up to the counter and ask if my food was coming soon, and they told me they forgot to place the order. Like really? You saw me just sitting there for 45 minutes and didn't think to ask where my food was? They offered me a donut to make up for it, but by this point I was pretty annoyed. Definitely won't be coming back.

After reading some of these reviews, I'm wondering if we all went to the same place. The one right by Staples right? Because I was introduced to this place on a Wednesday and I've been back 4 times in a row. Some of my friends actually get mad at me if I don't invite them out when I want to grab a quick dinner. This might be a long review, bare with me. Service wise? Fantastic. I never have waited longer than 10 minutes to get my food. The cashiers have been wonderful so far. One man even gave someone who clearly didn't have money a free donut and drink. While most establishes would tell the less fortunate by asking them to leave, this man gave him a free donut of his choosing and a free drink. I think that speaks volumes of the character of this man. I'm pretty positive the past review asked for their food to go or didn't tell them at all because every single time I've been there, I've been giving plates with utensils. No plastic or styrofoam unless you get it to go. Food? Dear God, I needed to lose weight because I'm going away to the Outter banks and I wanted to look amazing. This place is hell if that's your goal. Everything is pretty fantastic. I'm a huge fan of the cheese steak burrito and the cheese burger and pulled pork tacos. I'm curious as to what the previous commenters have gotten because of you're only spending $2 on tacos and expect a full meal, idk where you've been eating lately but I doubt it's fresh. The nachos is flipping huge and so yummy. We went there on a Saturday and nachos were slightly lacking compared to the week nights. Different cooks, it happens. Holy crap the donuts! Would you believe me that it started a fight between two diabetic ladies and a war between sides of the office? Everyone in the office loved the donuts. Maybe a little too much. Let's just say I ran out before everyone has gotten a donut. I had to hide the donuts in a drawer at my desk and it felt like a drug deal so the other side would not be upset. Oh and the fight between the diabetics? They ended up splitting both donuts so they both got a piece. Honestly, this is one of my favorite places to go for food now. It's laid back. It's delicious. It's decently priced for the amount of food you're getting. They serve alcoholic drinks. They sell festive fun donuts. I very much enjoy this place and highly recommend it. If you go in expecting the best Mexican food at the same price that you'll find in Mexico, you'll get the same results as if you drank the water in Mexico.

I gave Sweet Taco another shot and again it was a huge disappointment. The woman taking orders was trained how to work the register, not how to interact with customers. No courtesy. No "thank you;" not even "you're welcome" after I thanked her. Are they told to have the flattest affect they can muster? Bizarre. My dish was brought out missing a third of my order. Because of the odd setup here, I had to carry my dish and my purse up to the line where orders are placed to have it rectified. There were kids running around shrieking, which gave the ambiance of a pre-school to my dining experience. The shrill squeak of the door over and over kept the beat.

OMG this is my new favorite place! I tell everyone about it! We have brought a group I work with in twice this summer! My favorite taco is the cheese burger one. And my favorite donut is the PB&J. If you haven't tried it you have to!!!

Personable staff. Donuts are pretty good. Cakey but not too cakey. And definitely tasty! Shrimp corn chowder was AWESOME and I tell people I don't eat shrimp. However-- beef tacos were kind of a let down. Watery-- barely any flavor. It came from a crock pot was surprising to me-- but I've recently been using a crock pot to make chicken tacos because it tastes amazing that way. Unfortunately these tacos were not amazing.

Decent prices and variety of tacos, however my fish taco was very bland and seemed like the fish was boiled... Also the donuts had a good taste but ultimately were dry. This is good for a quick meal but not my top 5 places to grab a taco.

We wanted so badly to like Sweet Taco, especially considering the absolute lack of decent Mexican joints in DelCo... But Sweet Taco just isn't it. We went as a family tonight before hitting Giant for groceries. I had the chicken loaded nachos and hubby had the cheese steak burrito. He said his was edible, but we could've done better at home. I completely agree, especially since the "loaded" nachos were mostly chips with plastic-y cheese (it wasn't hot enough to stay liquid and congealed within minutes), a few strips of lettuce, a handful of tomatoes, and the driest, least tasteful seasoned chicken I've ever had. Not only that, but when you imagine loaded nachos, you see a huge pile of tasty goodness on a plate - this was a tiny mound 1-2 chips thick. Had it not been $9, it could have been a good, small starter. On top of that, everything came out within 5 minutes of ordering, so you know nothing was fresh. All through dinner, hubby kept asking me what was wrong. It took till later to realize that I was flabbergasted at the complete lack of quality and how the food and the atmosphere in the restaurant are complete opposites of each other. I don't know what they're doing right, but it must be something since there was a short line most of the time we were there, as well as when we left the grocery store. The donuts looked good, but we were honestly too afraid of more disappointment to try them. Save yourself some heart ache and late night hunger pains and go over to Mesa Fresh. The quality is better, as is the value. Two stars for the staff.

My husband and I stopped in last night. I've gotten to-go orders here before, but never actually sat down in the place. They have a lot of square footage so even though there were easily 10-12 parties in there, it looked pretty empty. I think that might work against them....people tend to stay away from restaurants that appear to be empty. My advice to you all: go here anyway. We got chips with cheese dip and guac to start - both dips were super delicious! And since we were there during happy hour, it was only $3! My husband got brisket tacos and pork tacos. He reported that both were delicious. I got the shrimp tacos and thought they were fantastic. The slaw they put on them has the perfect amount of spiciness in it - really good. Definitely will order again. We didn't drink but both were very surprised by their selection of beers. You would never suspect it judging from the outside! I'm sure we'll be making a repeat trip for a drink soon. We also didn't try the donuts but people seemed to really enjoy them. I never felt rushed, nor did I feel like I was waiting a long time for anything. We were in and out in about 30 minutes, which was perfect since we were catching a movie as well. Super fast & friendly service, shockingly great beer selection, and really good tacos. Can't ask for much more than that!

Went back again - this time with the fam because i thought my 10 year old would love it here. Sadly, she did not. She had buffalo chicken tacos and did not like them. She would up eating my enchilada and she did enjoy that. Nobody liked the donuts. It was 8:30 PM on a weeknight and they had been sitting out all day and thus were stale - as i had thought they might be. We bought them anyway. Bad move on our part. (I warned my husband not to get any - but he and my kid could not resist.) Waste of good money! The donuts sound so great, in theory. Maybe if you get them the minute they come out? In the mean time - PLEASE put the lemon cream sauce back on the menu - it covers a multitude of sins. I wish i could love it here - but in it's present incarnation, I just can't/don't. Incidentally, the ladies (2) at the front register were friendly and lovely. there is no true waiter service - you order & pay up front and then sit and wait at a table.

I gotta say I love this place! The food is always so fresh and the staff is so welcoming. We've been coming here since the beginning and my kids beg us to go to Sweet Taco EVERY Friday night! I had the Stuffed Peppers special tonight and they were amazing. My husband had the buffalo chicken taco and his beloved brisket taco. Nothing better than two ice cold Summer Love's and some delicious food. Feels like home every time we come. If you haven't been here your missing out on one of Delco's best spots!

Mostly really good! Everything is very fresh and j think they have improved on the wait times. I do however agree that the tacos are too small for what you get, there is just not enough inside for the price. The fish and shrimp tacos are my favorites but too much filler and not enough meat. I probably won't get the nachos again as I agree they just don't put enough cheese on them and it should be something more queso-like, not some tasteless white stuff. The soups on the other hand are excellent especially the shrimp and corn chowder. But yeah man- the donuts!!! Very special! Like the churro, the salted caramel, coconut custard. On and on!! Let's hope that portion control improves on the main stuff and we can get to 5 stars!!

Poor Taqueria Del Sol barely made it a year. But kudos to the owner of this establishment for realizing that it just wasn't working, and being willing to make changes. No, really. That took guts. I appreciate that. So the big change is the addition of salads and specialty donuts to the menu. This seems to be all the rage after Federal Donuts succeeded. Adding donuts is an appealing gimmick, and it got my attention. But there's a problem. First, the basic food hasn't changed much. I still like the fish taco. The beef brisket enchilada was decent enough. But the wife wasn't terribly thrilled with the chicken taco salad. Using the shredded chicken didn't seem to work for her. The loaded chicken nachos weren't really loaded. Not enough chicken at all. Maybe they should change the name to Mildly Buzzed Nachos. Taste wasn't bad, but it became a mere bowl of chips too soon for 9 bucks. The general food taste is enough to keep them at three stars for that end. I gave the predecessor three stars. But I have to say this. The big draw of this change was the addition of the donuts. I tasted three of them. The margarita donut was the better of the three, but they chose to flavor it with salt. I get it. Margaritas have salt. But not everyone likes that. And the salt taste was too off putting. The chocolate jalapeño donut, it just didn't work. The glaze was almost tasteless, and what little I tasted just didn't belong. The biggest failure... The maple bacon donut. How do you screw up a product with bacon? It happened. I can only describe the after taste as actually tasting like rubber. They have to fix the donuts. That was a big draw. They will let a lot of people down on that. The donuts were bad enough that a three star restaurant becomes a two star experience. It was that much of a letdown. And it drags them down so much because they're staking a lot on the idea of serving donuts. It's on their logo. But they can't keep putting these donuts out there like this. Something has to change.

I don't go here often, but when I do, everything is good. Have ordered the burritos and the tacos so far, and both were good. Best part of the place is the variety of beer and the amazing donuts

Loved loved loved this place when it first opened. Food quality is great, nachos are the best, tacos are even better, since the opening I've noticed they have backed off on quantity but have kept the focus on quality which is good. Service has slowed down a lot. Seems there is something in the kitchen keeping them from putting out food fast enough to keep up with the demand. Waiting 15 minutes for 1 taco isn't realistic to me. But hey, at least they taste great.

After dusting off of the old Yelp profile on a free Saturday, I decided it was time to try a new taco place in Springfield. The Sweet Taco is much better then its predecessor, but the ticket times and food still have a bit of work to do. However, they are easily fixable and the gimmick here just might work if you're bold enough. Atmosphere - The old taco place that use to be here was very drab, so congrats to the new management for going with a nice grey to hide scuffs and scratches on the walk. Many beer signs in the window, flat panel TV's on the wall, and a donut case right as you walk in (yes, I said a donut case, read later for more)... Lots of very appropriate tables and chairs adorn the place with some interesting Sweet Taco inspired art along the walls and picture frames. Waitstaff - This is a number driven counter style. Waiters bring food to the numbered table and give you a chance to wait for your food. The counter person here was very patient, as the couple in front of me took a while to figure out what they wanted. Greeting me with a pleasant smile, was quick to ask how I wanted my food prepared as needed. Runner who brought out my food was nice as well. Food - Oh boy, hit or miss today. The hit was my fish taco, which I went with grilled and a nice slaw to go with it. The fish was very good, but really skimped on the taco size (about 75% tortilla, 25% filler). I don't mind paying by the taco, but I want to pay for what I'm getting in the tortilla. Especially when it's really good like that so add s'more please? The chicken quesadilla I ordered, miss. Tortilla was not grilled very well on the outside, inside chicken was covered in a watery sauce that dripped a lot but was tasty. Again, bout a 70/30 ratio from what I mentioned above. Fill those tortillas a little more and your customers will be much happier. Intangibles - Probably the biggest downer for me was the 25 minute ticket time I had from when I ordered until I got my food. I went through a drink and a half before going to the counter, where they explained to me that they were waiting on the fish (hope that doesn't mean it was thawing out). Anyway, the counterperson brought my quesadilla at the 25 minute mark, with my taco about three minutes later. C'mon Sweet Taco, you're better then that. Ticket time for one person with two items should not be more then 10 minutes max. However, the thing that caught my eye, was the donuts. Sweet Taco also makes it's own donuts, which had I not been in a hurry with errands today, I would have gnoshed on a bit. I'm hoping for a better dinner performance, with a sweet treat to take home. Overall - The Good news is that Sweet Taco is MUCH better then the place that was here before. Locals, not a bad option, and having a liquor license makes it more appealing, as well as having a soda fountain instead of buying by the bottle. I think that if they work on their ticket times and food portions, they would really have something special, and the donut business is a really neat little hook for this area. Worth a shot, but be prepared for a wait just in case.

I was disgusted after we ordered and walked over to the soda fountain. This place is repulsive. I do not have high expectations of fast food but cleanliness is a must. I had the enchiladas, it was amazing, I just can't get over the filth and I can't help but wonder what the kitchen looks like.

This place has potential, especially if the owner listens to reviews. Recently changed over from Taqueria del Sol to Sweet Taco. The menu essentially stayed the same with a few additions and subtractions. The additions are OK, shrimp tacos were good but a little too salty. I'm very unhappy with the salsa changes. I don't order the chips now because the salsa isn't as tasty. I also miss the lemon chicken enchiladas and I'm sure I'm not the only one. That being said the specials are still part of the menu and those can be tasty. I also still enjoy the pork tacos. The donuts are intriguing but I haven't had one yet that I would eat again. They are just a little too greasy or leave that funny tongue coating after eating them. I go back for a few things but once you find the few gems that's what you have to stick with to keep coming back.

Odd combination of doughnuts and tacos. Tacos are alright. When you order nachos, you get a pretty decent proportion (perhaps enough for a few people to share.) I got a maple bacon doughnut, it was alright. I tried a piece of my sister's margarita doughnut, nice and salty as expected. Service was uneven. The lady working the cash register entered my sister's order in wrong, so some things took longer than others to come out. It was inconvenient but understandable because it was busy and seemed like something was up with their system. However, it was inconvenient. Plenty of seating, there were large groups there.

The only good thing about this place is that they have bottled beer. That's the only thing that they didn't fuck up, probably because you would have to go out of your way to fuck that up. This review is a few weeks late, so I will make up for being late with an extremely detailed review of each of their shitty tacos individually. Beef- If you left a big mac in the bag and left it out in the rain for a few hours and then ate the whole thing, bag included- it would taste better than this wretched piece of shit. Zero. Brisket- Have you ever wondered what it would taste like if they ever invented a generic mexican flavored pop tart and you ate it untoasted? Wonder no more my friend! Just try the brisket taco! Veggie Bean- Apparently it is possible to wrap a fart in a tortilla and serve it. I learned something new today. Crispy Chicken- Scrape the bottom of a box of popeye's extra crispy for some kernels of salty fried crack rocks. funnel that into a limp tortilla and top with tomatoes so underripe that they're actually grey and partially frozen. Best thing on the menu at Sweet Taco by far. Still a zero. Steak- the menu says steak, but it's probably better to think of it as meat-flavored tree bark. Fish- Is it the rich texture of shredded up wet newspapers that you crave? The pungent aroma of partially spoiled mystery fish? No, you say? Well then I suggest that you pass on this culinary abortion. Shrimp- At least the shrimp that died in the BP oil spill died with some honor and probably better flavor than these poor bastards. D minus in life for whoever cooked this shit. Cheeseburger- whatever the whiz part of cheeze whiz is (the part that's not cheeze) and whatever the umm's part of steak upms is (the part that's not steak) combined in one blender and warmed to just the right temperature to give you the experience of throwing up in reverse. Really just awful. Smoked pork- Start with a hot dog. Shred it with a fork. Then slather it in ketchup and sugar. You have now cracked the code and reverse-engineered the signature dish of the great Sweet Taco. I'm sure Chopped will be calling you up as soon as they hear about it.

Since moving to Delco, this is one of the only places that I really subliminally plan trips so I can stop in here. I'm so happy the menu didn't change much in the switch from Taqueria to Sweet Taco, and more importantly the people didn't change. I absolutely love the woman in charge and she always remembers my wife and I. Top things to know: - The other reviews are nuts. I really struggle to find anything negative here. - Beer & Alcohol selection- plus knowledge of each is above par for anything else in the area (not including Pinnochio's) - Everything is super fresh and service is super attentive. - Take a chance on the specials. I had the best meal ever- blue cheese grits with lime grilled shrimp. So much that I tried to replicate it and failed miserably. - I stick to tacos and my wife loves the enchiladas. My favorites are fried shrimp, fried chicken, and fried fish. (See a theme?) usually 3 is way too much but I order it anyway. Each taco is between $2 - $3, so quit your whining. Especially the person bitching about the coupon. Yes, I'm judging. I'm ok with it. That's what a review is right?

Little cantina style place. Has a bar so you can sit and watch tv while you eat. Prices very reasonable and food was decent. Not sure I get the donut connection, almost didn't go because I thought it was a Mexican bakery. Menu is limited, at least more than I expected but what I got was delicious.

As someone who loves Mexican, and knows how hard it is to find it in Delco, I had high hopes for Sweet Taco but was sadly disappointed.... The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is nice, and they have a bar- but the good stops there. Their menu is very short, and you can't even get a chicken burrito. I got the roasted chicken tacos, they had no taste- who doesn't put cheese on a taco? I had to douse it in their lime hot sauce to have any flavor. Maybe I'd come back if I was looking for just simple chips/dip and a beer, but otherwise will keep up the search for good delco Mexican

Excellent Taco's and the waitstaff are simply awesome! Perhaps the best selection of Tequila in DELCO and the mex-beer options are primo. They serve authentic taco's, so if you like the fast food hard shell option, this is not the place for you. Don't fill up on the Nachos if you can resist the temptation. They also serve donuts which are quite delicious but not with Dos Equus.

Interesting pairing of tacos and donuts.... They tried for the trend factor and it was just ok. There is only one counter to order.... So pray there is not a large family in front of you. It looks family friendly but then there is a bar. A coffee bar would probably make more sense. It was slow for a Friday eve. Food was just ok. Too much jalapeño in the cheese sauce. They can't easily customize your order....example : I just wanted plain shredded cheese instead of spice .... No can do. Donuts were good. Waiters were very friendly! I will give it another shot but not as wowed as other reviewers.

I go here all the time with my wife and 3 kids. Kids always eat when we go here. Great tacos and nice to have a beer or margarita with our meal. very good service always. We have eaten here over 20 times and never had a bad experience. What more can you ask? I recommend giving it a try!

I might give The Sweet Taco more stars if they could get an order right. I eat here often because my husband likes it (he'll eat anything...even if it's not what he ordered). I'm less tolerant. They literally screw up my order every time I order...whether it be the wrong tacos, prepared wrong, missing soups/sides, whatever. The food is so hit or miss, too. You could get generous portions one time and the next you're lucky to find more than a bite of fish on your taco. The food is pretty tasty on a good day...but I think I've finally had enough of the screw ups and inconsistencies.

Tonight was my first time eating here and after reading so many different reviews I felt compelled to write my own. My husband and I, along with our two kids (ages 8 and 3), had dinner around 5:30 on a Saturday night. Not quite the dinner rush-hour but it definitely wasn't empty either. I had the Two Bean Burrito, my husband had three different tacos, the brisket, the grilled fish and the steak, my 8 yr. old had two grilled fish tacos and my 3 yr. old had the kids burrito with a side of roasted veggies. First I'll begin with the service. Everyone we dealt with was very pleasant and nice. One of my children has Celiac disease and I always dread having to explain what she can and can not have. The girl taking the order never once gave me an odd look nor did she bat an eyelash, she just listened and wrote (or typed) everything in. If I could make one suggestion it would be that they have at least two registers going, make that experience a bit shorter. As for waiting for our food, it probably had to do with the time that we were there but it came VERY quickly. After reading some reviews I thought the wait would be agonizing but it was not long at all. I really liked my burrito. Was it AMAZING? No, but it was very tasty and everything was very fresh. My husband enjoyed his tacos. The brisket was a bit too spicy for his liking, but he really enjoyed the fish and steak. My 8 yr. old thought her fish tacos were too spicy but hey, she's 8. My 3 yr. old after some convincing did eat all of her burrito. Success! I think my husband put it best when he said "It's pretty good. Just simple, good food" and I completely agree. We finished the night with some donuts. Our favorite is the Margarita (if you've ever had the world's best donuts, Fractured Prune, this one is slightly reminiscent). It seems that people's experience here has run from one end of the spectrum to the other but in my opinion it's a great little simple food joint where you can also get a good beer and top it off with a treat. I'm glad we gave it a try :)

I don't get it. Tacos and donuts. What a concept? It is obviously working for them. Went to this chain restaurant with the family. I am always willing to try new places. Needless to say, we won't be going back. For starters, you enter through a que line similar to other chain Mexican restaurants. I don't like that. You order, they give you a number, and you find a table. The prices are expensive for the quality. There is a bar there, so I guess you can have a margarita or beer or something like that. That's a bonus, I guess. My enchiladas were so-so. Edible, sure? But for the price? Nope. Then, there is of course the donut. My donut arrived with the entree. A "fancy" donut to eat after your Mexican food? Why not? Then again, why? Would I eat there again? Nope. It was worth a try, but there is really no reason to go back.

As I post this I am still waiting for my food! Have been here a few times before and service has declined each time, but today was an all time worse! We ordered our food over 20 minutes ago and they now just came out and told us they don't have any beans ready?? So they asked if we wanted something else in its place! Really it took you 20 minutes to figure out you didn't have any beans? I don't really see this place getting any better sad cause it's a good concept!!

28 dollars for a warm brown bag filled with crap and cheap donuts, my donut was filled with pure unprocessed gimmicks. The tacos were day one, welcome to prison food, if u happened to go to prison on Cinco De Mayo and the guards wanted to give the criminals a treat. I had the cheesesteak burrito, it was a combination of a horrible high school cheesesteak and a burrito that you would see in the microwave at an IKEA kitchen display. I saw my girlfriend eat her veggie tacos with all the enthusiasm of a contestant on Fear Factor! The tacos were thrown together, unappealing, and tasteless. The donuts were horrible, and tasteless, and loaded with a pile of junk on the top. I didn't drink at the bar, if I had a few beers in my system, while eating this food, I might of become violent! If you hate yourself , love horrible food and don't leave near a Taco Bell then congratulations, this place is for you!

Great little gem of a spot. I didn't know how this place would be compared to authentic Mexican, but I have to admit I was glad me and my gf stopped by. The deforestation is nothing that would impressed one but just looking at the yummy donuts was enough for me. The menu is small and I think that is better that way. The beer selection was good and the margaritas was better. We ordered some tacos and a pitcher of house margaritas. The tacos were on point but I wish they had a bit more meat in them. The meat was seasoned right and the condiments were good. Friendly staff, and clean establishment. Our server whish was a young female was very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely come back to have more margaritas and some tacos.

Loved it. The woman was very nice. I believe her name was Tracy. Most restaurants I go to value money over customers appreciation it is not the case for Sweet Tacoâ„¢ they took our coupon even though they didn't have to. I would recommend getting a Burrito and then some doughnuts.

Very disappointing I went for lunch for the second time and it pretty much wasn't great at all both times. waitress/cashier lady knew her stuff and the menu well, the food came out quick and was pricey for the so called "Mexican food". All I have to say is save your money for chipotle Mexican grill-So much better!! And chipotle should have no worries of loosing their business to sweet taco.

The best thing about this place is the beer selection. A good mix of Mexican and craft. The food was okay. Lots of rice, lots of beans, not a lot of flavor. Chicken and chile burrito was small, pretty unremarkable. I didn't feel like the food was fresh, partially based on the crunchy Mexican rice. I know first hand how rice gets crunchy like that and it's because of time. Doughnuts were nice looking, fresher than the burrito, but also okay. I really had high hopes.

Food is good but service is horrible. Both times I was there it took them over 50 minutes to bring the food out. Other Customers that ordered their food after us were served first. Everyone at the table but myself was served. And by the time I got my food I only got 3 of 5 things I ordered. They were unapologetic for the mishap. I received my money back for the two tacos but they still never even brought them out. I thought I would give them another chance after my first bad experience, which was the same situation, but the same thing happened again. You have lost a customer. I would step your game up and hire more competent servers, Cooks, and management. I am not impressed to say the least. I award you 2 stars, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Great tacos, great donuts, great beer, great liquor, great service, great prices, great ambiance, great everything. I agree with the other guy who said the negative reviews are crazy. There is nothing not to like about this place. I personally like the corn tortillas for the tacos. The grilled fish tacos are sublime. I guess if you're expecting like a Taco Bell sort of taco, you'd be disappointed. Otherwise, give it a try!

Never a disappointment when coming here. Everything I've had has been excellent! A weird twist in tacos and dessert but it works and the donuts are just as awesome as the tacos.

The staff is actually really good for being in PA. The food is not that good. I am from Cali so we get amazing mexican food. Their burritos are not a burrito it like a dinner with rice and beans on the side with a bunch of stuff on top of a so called burrito. I want something to hold and eat. For you North Easterner is like eating a slice of pizza with your knife and fork.. You don't eat a burrito like they way they serve it. Other than that they need to spice it up and give chips and salsa with your order.

so i ordered from here today with a friend at work. will NOT being eating here again. first our bill was $26 and we had a coupon for two free tacos - which i told him about when i ordered over the phone AND they still charged us! here's what we ordered 2 fish tacos - one fried, one grilled. she said her fried was tasteless. my grilled fish was not good at all. the fish was over cooked and over seasoned. It was a tiny piece of fish and soo dry. the only thing good about that was the slaw it came with. i got the cheese burger taco. it was ok but no better than a taco bell to be honest. she got a pork taco - she said that was ok but nothing great. i got Mexican rice - it was mushy and i could tell it was at least a day old. it was like one big clump I also got the chips and dip. i got guacamole and two different salsa. the guacamole needed salt, pepper and jalapenos. it really wasnt any better than store bought. the one salsa was a green chili and it tasted like lime. no good spice to it. and then the pico de gallo was NASTY! it was tan - i have no idea why. and the tomatoes in it was rotten. we took one taste each and threw it away! do not eat here - there are so many better Mexican places near this place - just dont waste your time. an i am still really annoyed that they charged us for two tacos after i told them i had a coupon!!!! will not be returning EVER.

Shrimp tacos or pulled pork tacos are better than the others. Taco Tuesday is defiantly the way to go since there $2 each so you save some money. Blueberry cheesecake donut or M&m donut is my family's faves.

Absolutely subpar, overpriced and bland. Wait was over 20 minutes for takeout and food was so disappointing. Would recommend just about any place over this, even taco bell, they atleast are reasonably priced for their below average product.

It's ok been here many times because I love tacos and it's the only option this side of town, but two things that are a must is the corn soup Amazing!!!! Although they only have one size this awfully small cup. And the fish taco I love this taco very tasty. The tacos are small and expensive compared to size but still good. Every time me and husband eats here and order 4 tacos each and two little soup bowls the price is approximately 45 dollars. I think that's high but again I love tacos so I'll continue to go here

I come here pretty often and I've only ever had one bad experience. The fried chicken tacos are my favorite and I'm a huge fan of the cheese dip. The chips are always SO fresh which is a big plus for me. I've only ever had the donuts once (it was the pumpkin spice one and I only had it because they gave us that one and the chocolate jalapeño one for free) but it was pretty good and very fresh, even though it was with dinner. I bring all of my friends here and they keep coming back!

Just had chicken taco, steak taco, and chicken salad. Chicken was a little cold from sitting on the cool salad container. The chicken was fresh and juicy. The steak taco was delicious and had ample meat for the taco size. The salad had a zesty lime based salad dressing which was delicious. My regret is that I did not order enough food so my wife asked me to go out and get more tacos.

Great local Mexican food. I like the fact there are brisket tacos on the menu. Our last time eating from here we did take out and a mix of all types of soft tacos and quesadillas. They were all pretty good, but the brisket tacos went first. The kids liked the quesadillas and the chips tasted very fresh. I have tried a few spots in downtown Media and surrounding area, this is the best food I have tasted so far and it is really not even close.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
