I'm only giving this place 3 stars based on some problems we have had here in the past. Basing solely on food, it would definitely be a 4 star! That being said, this place was once a very regular go-to for us! Their food is really good, and that never disappoints! YOU HAVE TO ORDER THE PHOENIX ROLL! The Phoneix Roll has to be the best creation ever in Chinese Food! Their meals are also always very good, and you have plenty to take home for the next day! The prices are reasonable, especially for the quality. This place is also very clean, and the waitstaff is usually very attentive. We have had some problems here in the past, that kept us away for a while, but we have started to go back again. If you are seated in the front room, as for a table, as the booths are more than cramped!

We have been coming here for years. Food is top quality. Service is always friendly. Highlights here are Singapore noodles, spring rolls, and the hot and sour soup. There is no delivery. So that's a minus. So take out or dine in. This is our go to Chinese place

You are very good to my father. He loves your combination plates, and how you hook us up everytime with our to go orders. Live longer and prosper, best Chinese food in delco. It's delco not the main line, but there chinese food is legitmate. Need a General tso fix? Hit this place up.

Is this under new ownership? It used to be fairly good (not Chinatown good, but okay for the 'burbs) but our takeout was dreadful yesterday. The wontons tasted elderly and were filled with a small smear of slimy mystery meat. The duck was tasteless and dried out, as in, sitting in a fridge uncovered dried out. The only positive is the front staff is now friendly, whereas the person before was cranky. Crossing this one off my list.

I've had a couple good experiences here since I moved into the area a few months ago. I've only had take out but it has been pretty tasty, and it comes out super fast, even for a chinese place. The decor inside is a bit over the top in my opinion, you just have to see it to understand. I'll continue to order from here cause I live right around the corner. There are some places in the general area that are just as good or better but Dragon Garden definitely satisfies the chinese food craving for me.

I have been going here since the 90's.. and I think I've had the same waiter each time! He always keeps your water full. It's good chinese. Only thing is when I get my left overs to go I feel the box they give me is way too small and that they didn't put all my left overs in! Plus it's a little pricey. But overall good service and good food!

Growing up we always went here. I just got take out last night and it was tasteless! All four of us were disappointed. I would not go back which is sad since it was a childhood memory.

What's up with using "Dragon" in a Chinese restaurant name? Here we have Dragon Garden. Next door in Havertown is Lucky Dragon. I've also seen Szechuan Dragon and Dragon Dynasty. It would be different if you could try some dragon. Something like Teriyaki Dragon or Sweet & Sour Dragon. Maybe Dragon with Broccoli would be good. But nope, never, not once have I sampled Dragon. As expected, at Dragon Garden this fabled meat is nowhere to be found but the menu is still decent. If you are with some folks you can do the old fashioned Column A, B, or C process. I grew up with that but you don't see it much anymore. Prices are in line with everybody else. On Sundays they have a small buffet. The décor is a little over the top but fine and the service is fine to. You won't find anything to wow you but this is a solid three star place.

The absolutely best Chinese food anywhere around. Dine in or take out it doesn't matter but if you want a decent experience with reallocate good service in a quiet dining room this is the place. Been here a lot it's very consistent as well

Been going here since I moved to the area, fantastic general tso's. Agree with other reviewer, eat in if you can, waiters are great and the place is always empty so you get incredible service and really fast excellent chinese food

We went in thinking it would just be a small place with some take out. But, what we found was a large, actual real Chinatown style restaurant in Delco. It's so much fun in there; I really enjoy the decor. Traditional American Chinese menu set-up with the Plan A, B, C that you remember from childhood. We've tried several dishes and all are yummy. Best wonton soup around.

So after earning three stars in my previous review, I have given them several chances to win a 4th star. Sorry to say, I can't give it to them. Now don't get me wrong. They do have plenty of good food. But they do swing and miss on some dishes. I don't know if it's a different chef on a night or not. But here's a rundown of a few dishes we've had since I last reviewed. Phoenix Roll... this is fantastic. It's an appetizer with a combo of shrimp and chicken enough to feed two. I ordered one recently, and almost finished it on the ride home. Seriously, I tried one bite, and decided that I couldn't wait for the rest. I don't think I can order it too often because it is dangerous to me and my arteries. Sesame chicken... decent if not completely spectacular. Not the best I ever had, but certainly passable. General Tso's chicken... we have a split decision on this. I thought it was OK flavor-wise. The wife was not impressed. The night we ordered it, the breading was mushy, not crisp. It just didn't work for her. I ate some of it because the breading didn't bother me, but I agree it should be a bit more solid. Chicken lo mein... this was a hit in our house. Good flavor, good big chunks of chicken. Solid dish the night we had it. Chicken fried rice... quite honestly the biggest disappointment. How can a restaurant like this make one of the staple dishes of the (Americanized version of the) cuisine so badly? It's fried rice. Not that hard to master that dish, one would think. How can you make it so bland? It had to be an off night for the cook. I wound up throwing most of my order out. I really hope this was an off night. I do still love their egg rolls and wonton soup. I'll continue to come here because it's convenient to me on the ride home, and the service is good and friendly. But they stay at three stars due to inconsistency.

As good as you get here. Love the crispy noodle and service would rival any 5 star resturant you could go too.

Pretty good place. Not perfect, but not a bad place at all. We go here on occasion, when we're out this way or if we don't want our standard go-to Chinese Restaurants. If you want a quality sit-down Chinese Restaurant, this will hit the spot. The prices are good, and there's hardly ever a wait to sure and dine.

This is a wonderful and affordable Chinese restaurant in Springfield, PA. My husband and I go here every Thursday for their $9.99 buffet. I have to say, I love Dragon Garden. First off, we love going here for the service. The servers are wonderful. While there are only two of them, and sometimes the place gets pretty crowded, both servers always have a smile and laugh and pay attention to our plates, drinks and duck sauce. Secondly, and you'd never expect this from the outside. But the inside of the restaurant is incredible. The detail on the wall and ceiling is just amazing. It's so so so unique and beautiful to look at. when we bring people here they are stunned! Third, the FOOD. It's great! I've never had anything that I didn't enjoy. The buffet is nice too... there are about 8 stations but each dish is well prepared and has quality ingredients like pork, shrimp, chicken. The dumplings are fantastic. They have crab legs too. I really enjoy the general tso's, and the green beans and beef. I love that we always get those crunchy stick things with duck sauce right away. Don't know what they put in that duck sauce, but it rules. So, all in all. Dragon Garden is a family run establishment with smiling servers and great food. It's more than affordable, generous portions and a fantastic atmosphere. Not sure what else you could want in a Chinese Restaurant! Well done!

Best chinese food in Delco, and way less expensive than the fancier places like Peking or Maggie Kuo's. The waiters have all been there for ages and, if you're a regular, they take care of you. The portions are generous for the price, and the inside is filled with kitschy Asian stuff (think velvet wallpaper, dragon lamps, carved wood walls). Get the wonton or sweet and sour soup.

The fried wontons were good (a bit oily but edible). The orange chicken was not good. It was a deep fried chicken tender cut up with sauce poured over it. The curry chicken tasted like cinnamon not curry. Will not go back.

This chinese restaurant has been around ever since I can remember eating chinese food. You can order for take-out or eat in. I recommend eating in. The restaurant is very cozy and the waiters very attentive. The food comes out quick and hot and they have all the staples every chinese restaurant should have. If you go on Thursdays (I think) and definitely on Sundays they have a buffet for a pretty inexpensive price. I know chinese buffett...it's not what you are thinking. This is good quality food and there are no french fries or chicken fingers to be found anywhere in this buffett:) They don't deliver.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
