I actually really like this place! I got catering from them for a party and it was really good! The owner is such an awesome man he is so nice and loves to talk and connect with people! I love their malai kofta and the samosas are so yum!! Definitely a recommendation! Also I'm a fan of nice people (who isn't) and everyone is super nice here!

My boyfriend and I recently moved to the Lansdale area and were on a hunt to find a good Indian restaurant. This place is amazing. They have THE BEST garlic naan I've ever had. We feel like regulars now because we go so often. Also, thanks for the amazing service!!!

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon. We are literally the only customers in the entire restaurant, which probably has 15 tables at most. First move was to spill my mango lassi all over the table. Host was extremely gracious given my ineptitude. We had lamb Rohan josh; a very traditional lamb curry dish. It was quite good- a nice mix of flavors and a bit of spice. The saag paneer (spinach with cheese) was a bit bland in comparison, but still good. Very nice staff and good food. What more could you really want?

We've just recently moved to Lansdale from KOP. Our first task was to find a go-to indian restaurant. We prefer things very spicy & Bombay was able to meet our heat requirements. My wife and I have ordered take out a handful of times. Our dishes have been flavorful, well cooked, and affordably priced. If you want some good, cheap indian, look no further.

I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and discovered this wonderful gem of an Indian restaurant in Lansdale. I found it mostly because of the grand opening flags along Broad Street, as the restaurant is around the back, I had the buffet, which had a great selection of entrees, both vegetarian and non vegetarian, I felt that the chef was paying attention to each dish on the buffet, from the Tandoori Chicken and the Chicken Vindaloo, to a nice Lamb Biryani. The food was spicy, but not too hot. A basket of fresh baked Naan was brought to the table by a very attentive and pleasant waiter. I will definitely go back, perhaps for dinner, as some of the other menu items look amazing.

The best Indian food I've had in a long time, and the best I've had in PA. Even my young kids raved about how good it was throughout the entire meal.

This review is for the lunch buffet. I went here today with a work colleague. Although the selection is smaller than other Indian buffets, the quality of the food was very good. They had goat as part of the buffet today. It was tender and very tasty. Their chicken tandoor and saag was also very tasty too. The chicken tikka masala was good (not great, but not bad). And their naan was very well prepared. This place has been open for just about a year. If you are looking for solid Indian food, buffet style, at a reasonable price, you should check this place out.

The place is ok, but the food definitely doesn't deserve 5-stars. The restaurant is clean but compared to the Indian buffets that I've seen in New Jersey the food is mediocre.

Last night we were in bombay kitchen. I heard from my several friends. Place in back side hard to find.they have very friendly hospitality. We tried calamari which was new experience in Indian place.really good.tandoori chicken very juicy .... i wish I can give more then five stars.

The service at Bombay kitchen was satisfactory both times I ate there. The waiter was friendly, and attentive with refills for the most part. The food is yummy, I typically visit for the lunch buffet. Both times I visited near the the end of lunch and both times the goat curry was close to empty. In order to get the most out the buffet I would reccomend arriving earlier. The Sunday lunch buffet is 5 dollars more and you can tell the food is on a higher caliber. Decor is okay, the lamps were plain though. The establishment was clean. Experience was mostly good, with one exception. My first visit there, there was a birthday party for young children going on. The kids weren't being tended to adequately. It was near the end of my meal and a young boy came to my table and stuck his hand in my drink. It was gross, I wanted to talk to the boys mother immediately. I came to the conclusion that his mother probably wasn't at the party, and if she was English probably wasn't her strong suit so I called it a day. Luckily I was just about finished my drink anyway, but it's the principal.

My husband and I went here on Saturday night and were pleasantly surprised! We had purchased a Groupon for Bombay Kitchen because we love Indian food and thought we would give it a try. The restaurant is small and cozy. The staff was very nice and we had some great conversations with our waiter. The food was fantastic! We tried a variety of items such as the Cauliflower Pepper Appetizer and the Momos (Nepali Dumplings) to start. We then had the Curry Goat and the Tandorri Lamb. All were delicious! The lamb was outstanding! Tender and so much great flavor. We also ordered the Garlic Naan and it was amazing. We will definitely be going back!

Bombay Kitchen is fabulous! This Restaurant is under the pizza joint on Broad St in Lansdale. This is my Sister's, Boyfriend's and my go to Indian place. For take out or eat in this place gives generous portions and amazing flavor. I typically get either the Chicken Korma or Chicken Tikka Marsala. Enjoy! you won't regret it.

My fiancé and I have been here twice now and absolutely LOVE it! The wait staff is super friendly and helpful since we're newbies eating Indian food and their weekend buffet is delicious. Definitely will continue to go back and highly recommend to anyone wanting quality food with friendly service!

Although I haven't been to every Indian restaurant around Lansdale yet (there are quite a few!), this will become my new go-to spot, for sure. They have a fairly unique menu with some dishes I've never seen before... I believe it's because they have some Nepalese influence in the food. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. The restaurant is very cozy, and the waiter was very attentive. It's BYOB, if you're interested. We got the takari chaat appetizer, which was simply delicious! Looks like a taco salad coming out, but it's a papadum shell filled with a mix of chickpeas, potatoes, savory crunchy bits, and tamarind and mint chutneys. I highly recommend it. Ordered a malai kofta entree with a medium spice level, and surprisingly, they delivered with a good amount of spice and heat! The sauce was complex, slightly sweet, and the dumplings were tender. The boyfriend got kadahi paneer, something he's never tried. It was very flavorful, and also a good medium level of spiciness, as requested. The garlic naan was well cooked. Finished with masala chai, which could be a little spicier, but was still pretty good. Overall, I was incredibly satisfied. Will definitely be back, and soon. Also, have you seen the prices?? Best deal ever.

I was craving Indian and naturally turned to yelp for guidance. Got a weird vibe pulling into the parking lot that we were mislead. It's tucked behind a pizza place and the outside looks a bit dilapidated. We went with our gut and checked it out. So glad we did. Absolutely everything was delicious from the samosas to the byriani and tiki masala. Took a bit long for the food to come out, but worth the wait. Would recommend.

Great food, great experience, and nice atmosphere! Everything that we ordered had nice presentation, fresh ingredients and was prepared very well. We started out with a variety of appetizers - Tokari Chat, Skuba bay calamari, and Nepali steamed dumplings. Tokari chat was full of flavor and just tasted very fresh. Skuba calamari had a very unique coconut and chili base sauce - it was absolutely divine - something I expect to have at a restaurant in DT philly. The dumplings were very light and flavorful. I could have been happy just eating the appetizers. For the main dishes - we tried the chicken tikka masala, chicken Madurai curry, and malai kofta. All were very delicious in their own way and full of flavor. The garlic nan was great. In addition to the delicious food - the service was excellent. The staff is extremely pleasant and very attentive.

We have been back several times since our first visit. Everything we have tried has been excellent. Most recently the Skuna Bay Calamari...Oh My God! The sauce in this dish is so tasty! Also had Lamb Biryani...it's enough food for two or three people. I asked for it very spicy...it was delicious! Chicken Tikka Masala was equally yummy! Fried veggies for an appetizer were great...also had the steamed dumplings...WOW! We also have tried many of the breads on the menu-all fresh and perfect to mop up all the complex sauces that accompany each dish. The service at Bombay Kitchen is excellent as well. The owner & his staff know their menu... if you have questions or want something adjusted, all you have to do is ask. Come to this hidden gem, you will NOT be disappointed. Last time we ate there, there was a sign on the door announcing they will be closed on Mondays. They start service for dinner at 5:00PM.

We had been to the restaurant 3 weeks ago and loved the food. So we took a catering menu from them as we were to host a party soon. Today when I called them to place the catering order, their prices miraculously changed (hiked obviously). I tried telling the person on the phone that I have the menu from just 3 weeks ago and it has different price and yet he did not honor the price on the menu that was given to us by them few weeks ago. As much as their food is great, I think they should be better at customer service.

My mom had a Groupon and we checked this place out at around 6pm Monday night. There was only one other table there at the time, so our waiter paid close attention to our table. I am giving it five stars, although if I could give it 4.5 I would. I am not sure if this place is a BYOB or not, but we showed up with a big bottle and were given an ice bucket with no questions asked. Our waiter was a nice guy and would be at our table frequently during the night. At his suggestion we tried the Skuna Bay calamari ($7), which was perfectly cooked in a colorfully orange coconut broth. At first look I thought it would be a sweet coconut broth, sort of how they do in Thai cooking, but it was very rich and had a nice spice to it. We also had the Kesari chicken tikka, which might have been my favorite dish of the night. 5 large chunks of off-skewer chicken were placed on a nice carrot & spice puree. A nice hint of saffron could be tasted on the chicken, and the provided lemon wedge really elevated the flavor. We only ate 3 of the 5 chunks because they were very large (only $9!) and took the other 2 home. They did not survive the night in my fridge. For dinner we ordered the vegetable biryani ($11) and the chicken tikka masala ($13) and also the garlic naan ($3) + onion kulcha ($3). Although I wish there was as much chicken tikka as there was in the kesari appetizer, it was still delicious. We asked for it spicy and were not disappointed. Run of the mill CTM is normally heavy on the cream and orange in color, but this was an angry reddish orange. The spice was balanced perfectly and was not overpowering but definitely made its presence known. The vegetable biryani came with a baked on bread lid, which I have never seen before, so that was cool. I didnt get a chance to eat much of this because I was pretty full, put I saw slices of lemon, tomato, zucchini and onion in there and it smelled great. I will be eating the leftover naan and biryani for lunch today. Overall we had a pleasant experience, the plating and presentation of the food was surprising, and service was nice. I hope this place stays in business and gets more patronage, because it always makes me feel bad when a good place has to shut its doors. I do not know its situation, it hopefully is thriving, but I would definitely recommend and I personally will be back.

Went here the other day for the lunch buffet oh a whim and it was definitely worth it. The lunch buffet is only $10 and includes a pretty good selection. They have goat and lamb on occasion according to the owner and it was delicious. Some of the selections will change day to day but they will always have the staples such as CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA. The staff was very attentive and my water glass never reached the bottom before being filled. Definitely will come back.

I also have been waiting for an Indian restaurant to come to Lansdale. I was so disappointed when my favorite in North Wales changed management and went downhill so quickly. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. First time there so I went safe with lamb rogan josh ordered two Naan one onion and one peshawari. Did takeout. The lamb was so tender, the sauce complex with a hint of sweetness I wasn't expecting. The waitstaff was pleasant and attentive while I was waiting but did not hover at all. The Naan is to die for the sweetness of the peshawari complimented the slight heat of the rogan josh. I'm taking leftovers to office tomorrow to share. We have been waiting for quality, true to culture Indian food for 2 years. Thank you.

Found a Groupon to try this place out. Delish!! I am impressed with their dishes as they maintain very flavorful. Even with the Caucasian demographics in the area, Bombay Kitchen does not adhere to the bland tastes of many American palettes! Thankfully! Will definitely make another trip to visit when craving Indian.

Fingerlickin' good food We ordered the cauliflower peppercorn appetizer and two vegetarian entrees. Food did not disappoint. We recently moved from NJ and I can vouch that the food was definitely so much more flavorful than NJ. Will be returning for sure.

Those five star reviews look a little fishy. This place costs way too much for mediocre Indian food. Pint sized entrees (literally in pint plastic soup containers) and two appetizers for $50? Crazy.

My wife Susan and I had dinner here this evening. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Chicken Madurai Curry and my wife had Tangri Tandoori Chicken which was tender, moist and full of flavor. The service was friendly and attentive. The owner stopped by on several occasions to make sure we were pleased with our dinner. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be back.

Really enjoyed dining here with family. Unique, fresh dishes. Tandoori chicken with yogurt sauce on side was moist and delicious. Lamb saag also very good. Happy to have a local lansdale Indian restaurant that's this good. Will be returning.

I am writing this as a neutral customer. I always used to pass this restaurant on my way since last one month and always wonder how the food would be. Finally I went there today I must say that food was good and satisfying. Good Customer Service. It was worth going there. Would recommend others to go there too.

Too bad because their food is very good, but never again will we set foot into this restaurant that after three tries continues to be rude and off-putting! What gives? You're located on a dingy corner off the beaten path on Broad Street. Your food is good, borderline delicious. But, for me at least, going out to eat is also about ambiance and interaction with staff. Having eaten here twice before, both having an exceptional culinary experience, both times we left feeling beaten down by the arrogant, condescending male server (maybe he's the son of the owner or the owner himself). Snooty attitude was the first vibe I got from him, when my boyfriend and I went the first time. The server knew we had never dined at Bombay Kitchen before and one would think he'd be warm and attentive. Far from it. Okay. No biggie. Maybe that's not his strength. However, the way he ordered the female server around was downright sexist and offensive. As a woman I was outraged on her behalf. She was kind and professional. Yesterday, around 3:40 p.m. on Saturday 28 February 2015 we elected to take my parents to Bombay Kitchen after my mother has expressed a desire to have Indian food. Before leaving their home a few miles away, we checked The Bombay Kitchen's website, confirming they were open. There was one car in the parking lot when we arrived. That was good because my elderly parents wouldn't have wanted to wait for a table. As we walked up the ramp, to the glass door with the red "Open" sign hanging from the interior, seeing two or three men seated just inside the glass door, that rude young man announced, "No, we're closed!" and shooing us away. I said, "Your website says you're open. Your sign reads "OPEN". He repeated annoyingly, "No! We open at 4:30." But, but... I mutter disappointingly... No hint of an apology... Hearing sorry, come back, please...our kitchen is preparing meals would have assuaged my surprise, but nothing. Nada. Zip. Ziltch. Not a glimmer of courtesy. If I were to nominate an Indian restaurant to become the "Indian Restaurant" nazi, a la Seinfeld, this would be the one. Too bad, their food is very good. However, there are other equally delicious Indian restaurants close enough. Spice Kitchen on Allentown Road is very good. New Hope has an amazing restaurant and the staff make you feel as if you're invited into their home. Fort Washington has an iconic Indian Restaurant. I'll even drive to NYC for a sensational dining experience and treated graciously. Sorry Bombay Kitchen. You're not the only game in town and even if you were, I'd give up my passion for Indian food. Your attitude makes me lose my appetite. Bleck. Update! In search of quenching our desire for Indian food in the Lansdale area, stumbled into Biryani Bowl on Broad Street. It's DELICIOUS, with attentive, kind, warm hospitality. The restaurant ambiance isn't great, but the food and service are impeccable. Go!

Been here twice. Both times we had the same experience. Our server was always on his phone and never bother filling up our water glasses. The food was delicious but with the inattentive service it doesn't matter. We won't be returning

I went here for the first time for my birthday a few weeks ago, because we had just moved to the area and I was in the mood for Indian. We were a bit thrown off when we pulled up at 6:30 on a Saturday night and no other cars were in the lot, but we persevered and went in, got seated, and had our meal. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, the prices were a bit higher than we'd like, but not outrageous. My only major annoyance/complaint would probably be that the waiter (he may have been the owner?) was a bit too chatty with us, when we really just wanted some time to chat and enjoy the food. I could tell he didn't mean any harm, he just seemed generally pleased that we (as first timers) were there, and wanted to make sure we were enjoying ourselves, but it got to be a bit much. During our hour there, we did see about 4 other parties come to pick up take-out, so this could be why no one was eating in... although by the time we left (pushing 8pm), a few more tables had been seated. Pros: pleasant staff, clean, great food Cons: prices a bit higher than average, hovering wait staff In the future, I'd only ever order take-out from this place or do the buffet, which I suspect is a much busier time for them.... and more affordable for us.

I have been waiting for Bombay Kitchen to open for months now. Would always see their 'coming soon' sign as I drove up and down the street and was intrigued because of two things 1) It is so close to where I live and 2) The restaurant name has Bombay in it! I grew up in Bombay (I refuse to call it Mumbai) - and like NYC is to America, Bombay is to India. Food wise, it is a hot pot of the most amazing cuisines fused with ingredients from around the world. I had the best Italian food I have ever had, In Bombay. So when a restaurant has the name 'Bombay' in it - my immediate expectation was that the food here would not be just the usual Indian food found in 80% of the Indian Restaurants in America and 100% of Indian Restaurants in Montgomery County. We walked in for Dinner on a Thursday night - the dining area is intimate and bright. The staff super friendly, and were eager to please. I explained how I have been waiting for this restaurant to open , gave them my background and what kind of food I like. The menu looks fantastic - you know you are in for something special - when you have items like Skuna Bay Calamari, Malabar Shrimp Curry and Chicken Fresenjoon on the menu. For appetizers we got Tokari Chaat, Samosas, the Chicken Soup and the Skuna Bay Calamari. For main course we got the Malabar Shrimp Curry, Dal Pahadi, and Shrimp Biryani. I could write a paragraph about my experience tasting each one of them. But that will make the review even more boring. If i had to use one word, it would be 'Phenomenal' . The flavors were awesome, the food was fresh, and most importantly it was served with keeping our homestyle palettes in mind. The owner admitted that his chef used to work for Tashan in Philadelphia - No wonder everything was so exquisite. The food is great, the ambiance is perfect, they deliver and from what I heard their buffet menu changes every day. Give them a a chance to impress you. If you are in the area and haven't been to Bombay Kitchen - you should.

Kind of expensive but the food is good. Unfortunately, there's a lot of competition around here for Indian food. The standard is actually pretty high. I see a lot of good reviews on this place, so hopefully it will make it. PROS: *A nice assortment to choose from. * Plenty of parking * Clean looking and new on the inside CONS: *Lots of local competition in the Lansdale area *Prices are not that competitive * Sits heavy in your stomach This place is good and I think they are just trying to find their footing. Hopefully, they will be a true competitor. Right now, I think they have a lot of competition in the area so I am not sure they are the best but they are good.

I ordered calamari but it was octopus in the soup, too fish, not expected. Chicken is ok but naan is too plain. Nothing special about this Indian restaurant. There is better one in 5 minutes in the plaza. They are short on the staff on Friday, so I only had one server for 5-6 tables plus take out. Not great experience.

New place / grand opening and such Every now and then I reminisce about the lines from the dark knight - "I'll be whatever Gotham needs, not deserves" - or whatever that line is.. In this particular case - the Bombay kitchen gives whatever most people would like - no what it should be giving. One's fiction the other... is a business. And as long as the quality of ingredients and freshness are concerned - both will be enjoyed by most. -- but that means there's room for super classy bigots who for some particular reason, will just not like it. And in this particular case - that's me. the food here is actually geared for the slighter non tolerant american palette. as in they actually sweeten the dish. with sugar. a spicy dish that is not spicy. or is actually sweetened. (gotte be kidding me) But, I had a chat about the same with the waiter/owner. and they concurred with my thoughts about the people wanting this, and not the regular versions of the dishes. Other than that- the ingredients are fresh. The price is reasonable. They also use a range of fresh spices - the only problem is - they don't use the 'hot' ones, or the intentionally add sugar to all of their dishes. To me the food was 'dead' or life less... most other weak palette people would enjoy this place

I decided to try this spot after putting if off for a while and I wish I had gone sooner. The food was great and I always order a saag as my litmus test and it passed with five stars. This was fresh food done right and I will be back!

The husband and I love Indian food (at least, Philadelphian Indian food) and have longed for a go to place since we moved to the suburbs. While the other top rated Indian place in north wales is fine (and they deliver) they are very heavy on the butter / cream in mild dishes. This pretty much kills any chance of flavor. We found Bombay Kitchen on yelp and tried it out. All in all, it's quite good. Very friendly and attentive staff. The samosas were good but the mint chutney was out of this world. My veg biryani was enormous. Husband got chicken vindaloo and it had a much more complex flavor than others. 2 entrees, sodas and samosas/naan came to just under $40. This place also delivers - we've found a new favorite!!

Excellent food and friendly welcoming service. This restaurant is definitely above-average for Indian restaurants in the area. The owner is actually Nepali, leading to some interesting food choices, but the Indian items are very good too. We especially liked the Momos, which are Nepali steamed dumplings. They are a little like Chinese dumplings but spicier. The Lamb Vindaloo and Biryani were excellent also. Service was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the owner stopped by our table to check on our satisfaction. All in all, a good find and worthy of a repeat visit.

I bought a Groupon last week so that we could try this place. If I didn't have that, we never would have gone but we will surely be going back! We had the lunch buffet and it was delicious! Great variety of food, wonderful service, they were great with the kids... Ironically, I didn't read the fine print on my Groupon and it can only be used for dinner. Not a problem, cuz I'll be back!
