What can I say, we haven't had a bad meal here. Try anything with the red sauce (gravy). It is amazing. The balsamic vinegar salad dressing is perfect. Just the right amount of tartness. Service is excellent. It has become our "go-to" place for italian food.

Was a little hesitant at the average star rating but am pleased to say Mamma Mia was excellent. Service was exceptional. Quick, polite and accurate. Salads were a little small but once the pasta arrived we really did not have room for more. The pasta and fish were all very tasty and seemed very fresh. I wish I had saved room for dessert. On the way out we saw some very tasty looking desserts in the case. A fine place for dinner if you find yourself in Langhorne.

Phenomenal food & service!! Highly recommend the deep dish!! If you're looking for great italian food & a super atmosphere with reasonable price this is the place too go. Hot wings & garlic knots are great. The establishment is centralized and near Sesame Place too!

I really can't understand why it has such great reviews. It's just ok. Not great, not bad, just ok. Good for kids. BYOB too.

This is a lovely Italian place near the Oxford Valley Mall. The prices are very reasonable and the quality of the food is top notch. You won't find a lot of traditional foods here, but their dishes are done really well. Make sure you check out their specials - those are always a nice departure from the regular menu. They do have some of the best ravioli I have ever eaten at a resturant.

My coworkers and I went there for lunch because we had a coupon. I informed them that we were on a lunch break and we were seated. It took almost 20 minutes before someone came back to the table to take our order. At that point in time we placed an order for Panini's and a dish for two of us to share such as gluten-free pasta. By the time the food came we only had 10 minutes left so we asked them to pack it to go. The bill then came to $50. They said they would give us a discount and did, but the bill was still $33 for lunch. I do not think I will ever go back to this place.

I went here because I had a 50% off coupon from the clipper magazine. I will never return. The bread basket was cold, the salad almost frozen and the entrée was tasteless. I ordered the dinner-sized linguine and clams. It was a very, very small serving of buttery (not olive oil) pasta and about 7 littleneck clams plus 1 empty clam shell. Even with the coupon I felt like I was ripped off.

Just ordered take out and it was really bad!!! Filet Mignon Alla Mamma it said in a light brandy sauce. It was one of the worst steaks I ever ate. No brandy sauce no flavor what so ever no seasoning at all. Was going to go to Leonardo's in Lawrenceville NJ but I didn't!! I won't make that mistake again.

We stumbled on Mamma Mia when we were actually trying to find another restaurant in the area with the same name. Oddly enough we looked up Carlucci's Grill and were going to go to another restaurant due to the reviews and we found that the place mats and wrapper around the napkin all were labeled as Carluccis Grill. I am not sure if Carluccis bought this location, but if they did it would be better to stick to one brand name so people aren't confused. About the experience We went in and were seated immediately. A waitress came out to take our drink order quickly and bring some bread to the table. During the whole time we were there the service was excellent. All three of the people in the party ordered Chicken Parmesan and shared some mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks came out in about 6 minutes and were tasty. The bread basket included a couple different types of bread: bread shaped like fat bread sticks, which was average at best and bread with tomato sauce, which was really delicious. The meals came out in about 15-20 minutes from ordering and were hot. My chicken parm didn't have any real sauce on top. I think it was under the cheese. The chicken tasted good, but was very thin for my preference. Overall the food was good, but didn't blow me away, but was solid in a pinch. For me, the best part about this place was the service. I may go back if I am in the Oxford Valley Mall area.

This place is owned by Carlucci's and their food is out of bounds! Everything is homemade and the Italian hospitality is better than any I've had elsewhere. Excellent restaurant!

We had chicken parm and the breaded artichokes. Meal was good but nothing special.

Went here because of a recommendation. Not what I was hoping for really. The area I sat kinds of smelled like a dirty old rag. I'm guessing they used one to clean one of the tables nearby (or even my own). Otherwise, the placed looked clean, if not a bit dated. The server was very friendly. They took our order and our drinks came out quickly. Food was also served promptly as well. We never had to ask for refills. If the experience ended there, this place would be a 5 star place. But alas... I got the pasta fagioli as my soup, something I've had numerous times from numerous places. It wasn't very good. For something made with high flavor ingredients like cannellini beans, olive oil, garlic and tomatoes, it seriously lacked flavor. Was far too bland. This was either from a can or from a batch that sat and over cooked for at least 24 hours. For my meal I had the gnocchi in their standard red sauce. Again, it lacked the flavors you would expect from something so common in Italian restaurants. The gnocchi were over cooked to the point of being mush, and didn't have the nice texture you get from fresh gnocchi. Likely pre-packed or frozen. The sauce was ok, tasted liked canned sauce. Needed a lot of seasoning. My wife's meal was a bit better as she had the ravioli with mushrooms in a cream sauce. I sampled that and those were likely still from frozen pasta (had the mushy consistency of overcooked frozen pasta). But he sauce was actually really good. Much more flavorful than anything else we had that day. Overall, this place has nice service, and a friendly staff. But the food tastes store bought and overcooked. And in the area this is located, there are other, better options for Italian cooking. More 2.5 stars, but couldn't give it a 3.

Great dinner and was able to eat outside and relax. The food was wonderful we had a white pizza and salad and it was well worth it!!!

We had a great experience here! We came here after our second day at Sesame Place. It was late, we were tired as I'm sure the staff was here as well. We weren't greeted very promptly as the hostess was on the phone with a take out order. There was another gentleman sitting at the front who looked at us a few times but otherwise completely ignored us and gave a look like he was annoyed that another family of tourists came in. That aside, the waitress, Amanda was on top of her game. She was very attentive, knew the menu like the back of her hand and always smiled. The food was very good. I had the chicken rollatini. It's topped off with 3 shrimps which is a nice added bonus. I also had the mushroom barley soup which I literally licked my plate afterwards. Also, this a BYOB establishment so don't forget to...well, BYOB.

You've got to be kidding me with this place! I'm not one to post negative reviews, however; I feel it necessary this time. As we Walked up and saw outside seating with umbrella's that had various alcoholic beverage logo's on them. We thought, Cool, they now serve alcohol! Upon entering the restaurant, there was no warm greeting no acknowledgement just an older gentleman with a miserable demeanor yelling across the room at his hostess to seat us. STRIKE 1. She was nice, sat us at a table and we began looking at the menu. The waiter brought bread which looked great and we were eager to try. He asked us for our drink order (in a very broken English accent), I ordered a mineral water.... what?.... I'd like a mineral water (This is how it's listed as on the menu), then I preceded to point to it on the menus. "Oh Seltzer water" was his response, I asked for Lime with it. He said no! Lemon, Ok... Fine... Lemon it is STRIKE 2. I then asked for a "Pinot Grigio" he nodded ok. My daughter ordered a raspberry iced tea and My husband then asked for a Miller Light, The waiter said "No, Lemonade", Uh no... Miller Light. "No, Lemonade"... I said what do you mean, he then informs us that the do not serve alcohol! Wait What??? You just said Ok to me ordering a glass of Wine, He says no... No alcohol!! THere was no way I was going to have to go through this Lack of communication and lack of Knowledge all night. STRIKE 3!!! We handed him his Menus and left. Seriously people, how does a business run like this???? We will not venture to try this again.

After reading quite a few glowing reviews we decided to try it. Place looked fine, cloth napkins... nice,....menu looked great. Good bread and an absolutely fantastic red sauce soaked bread showed up. Pretty much headed down hill from this point. Ordered artichoke appetizer (Cariofi Dorate). SO disappointing! Seriously tasted like Denny's (on a bad night) made it. Super greasy, canned tasting artichoke, deep fried. Nothing about this remotely resembled anything Italian. Side Caesar salad was mediocre, dressing tasted like bad bottled. (I mean really.... Ken's bottled is pretty good) No Parmesan, no hint of garlic, boring. Lasagna was decent Chicken Parm was descent Sadly, I can honestly say that Olive Garden's culinary prowess surpassed this place significantly. Sigh.... Cannoli... Sigh revisited.... Server was inattentive. I do have to say that there was a man in the front that seemed on the ball, as well as what seemed like a head waitress who prodded our waitress twice. What a shame... We wanted to like this place. I see no reason to ever return

Went on a weekday early evening. It wasn't too crowded. Our waitress was very good and provided good service. The bread selection that we started with was excellent. I had the veal saltimbocca over pasta. It was not bad but too salty for my taste. I got tired of the flavor about halfway through the dish. Not a bad restaurant but the quality of the food is better. Its sister restaurant, Carlucci's Grill, is much better (and much busier). Maybe a decent place for lunch but if you want good Italian food go to Carlucci's, which is about 5 minutes away.

The Carlucci family has made quite a name for themselves in the area and Mamma Mia's Trattoria is the sixth Italian restaurant they have opened. The other five restaurants are scattered between here and Mount Laurel, NJ and all have different names. I have reviewed one other before, Carlucci's Italian Grill yelp.com/biz/carluccis-g… Located right across the street from Sesame Place yelp.com/biz/sesame-plac… and in the building where the AAA's used to be. The large red, white and green name on the front of the building screams to you to stop in and have a bite. Walking in you are greeted by fresh pizza's coming out of their ovens to be sliced and served with any toppings you desire. Beyond this is an open kitchen where the chefs prepare your Italian entrees and side dishes. The Italian servers have their own soup and salad station in order to get you started immediately when your tummy is rumbling. To the right as you walk in is a large pastry case filled with sweet Italian specialties and beyond this is the host stand where an older Italian man sat us. I'm not sure if he was a Carlucci, but I am assuming so, because he seemed to be in charge. I've been to Italy several times and all over Italy. While we were dining I could not help but notice an Italian couple walk in and sit down to dine, everyone seemed to know them, I know they were part owner's just from watching the action. Am I nosey or what? It amused me because between the two of them, they were there to eat, not socialize between each other, he read the newspaper while they both ate and she watched everything that was going on around her. I don't think they shared two words, which reminded me of being in Italy, they are there to eat. Once we were seated, we were immediately served a complimentary plate of tomato topped bruschetta sprinkled with Romano cheese. These little squares were delicious and welcoming since we were in from the cold and very hungry. Once your plate is empty, which happens quickly, they are asking if you would like more. Warning, these little bites are delicious and filling when you are hungry. They have a very extensive menu and it is all authentic Italian cuisine and the food is delicious. I started with Carciofi Dorante, I know it's Italian to me too, but these tasty little marinated long stemmed artichokes are coated with Italian herbs and bread crumbs, quickly fried and topped with parmesan cheese, plunge them into the pool of their creamy roasted garlic sauce and they are heaven. Entrees come with your choice of salad or soup. They always have Pasta E Fagioli and the soup of the day happened to be one of my favorites which is a cream of mushroom. I asked for a cup, they have no cups, they bring a bowl of soup and I am not talking a cereal sized bowl, but a huge linguine sized bowl and this awesome soup was so delicious I could have licked the bowl. Hubby had a nice sized tossed salad which came with his meal and ravioli marinara with grilled sausages. He became an Italian instantly, did not say one more word to me and continued to enjoy his homemade raviolis and his grilled sausages until the plate was clean. Then he allowed me in and said that he really enjoyed his meal and he would love to come back. For my entree I had the chicken Marsala loaded with fresh Marsala soaked mushrooms that had been sauteed. The chicken breast fell apart when I inserted my knife and fork, each time without applying any pressure, it just fell apart. It was so tender and flavorful and melted in my mouth and the bed of linguine that it was served on picked up all of this delicious Marsala wine sauce and the fallen mushrooms. I was seriously loving it. This is a BYOB, hubby had a Pepsi and I had water with lemon. BYOB's are big in our state for new and upcoming restaurants because of our Blue laws and the ability to obtain a liquor license. Our female server understood English fairly well, but her back server not so much, but she was smart enough to get our server after clearing plates when we had requested anything. They do a good business here and folks seemed to know the restaurant and procedures as they walked in and sat down to dine, not only did they seem familiar, they seemed very comfortable. I could easily go back here again and again, become familiar and very comfortable. I would love to learn their secret on how they get their chicken so tender, moist and flavorful. Do they soak it first or poach it? It is seriously good stuff! Mamma Mia I will be back to try and learn a few tricks and family secrets...

Great setting for a night out with the family or to take your wife or girlfriend. Food was super delicious and plenty to eat. Outside dinning or inside dinning with fast and friendly service. Very realistic Italian setting inside with wide range of items on the menu. I truly loved going here and will continue to go!!!

Langhorne Pennsylvania - I had a regular salad with balsamic vinegar which was very good and I am having now the snapper and mahi-mahi combo which is also very. I exchanged the broccoli Rob for just broccoli and it was very good.

I was here in langhorne likes many to take your kids to sesame place. I went on yelp because I was in the mood for Italian. I saw the reviews for mama Mia and they were good so I said why not. When I got there I ordered the fried calamari which tasted like rubber. I mean badddddd. I knew it was going to down hill from there. For an entree I ordered shrimp scampi. I got a small salad with it so I ordered the Cesar salad. I can't believe the could bring me what they did. Mixed greens with salad dressing on the side. The dressing I kid you not had to be from a very bad bottle of salad dressing from the store. Cesar salad is made from romaine lettuce ONLY. Then my shrimp scampi came out. I took one bite and couldn't believe it. No flavor what so ever. Very watery. The shrimp was cooked well but what good was it if the sauce was bad. Do not eat here. Not worth the money and heart break that you will get

We stopped in for a quick bite. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. I got linguini instead. It was fair. There was way too much salt in everything. Overall it felt like they weren't really trying. We won't be returning.

We have eaten here many times before, but never will again. Last night there was a very loud, rowdy group in the back dining room. For whatever reason, we were seated just on the other side of the 1/2 wall from them. We could barely hear our own conversation. The waiter did not speak much english, and did not understand it either. He came by every 2 minutes asking for our order, starting immediately after we sat down. I finally told him firmly that we were not ready, and would tell him when we were. I tried repeatedly to get answers to questions about menu items and their ingredients. Asking the waiter was useless. I ordered a pasta with scallops (which were overcooked and rubbery) and porcini (which were obviously re-hydrated from dried, and not re-hydrated enough). The food was barely edible, the sauce was barely existant. My husband's lasagna only had one sheet of pasta, wrapped around the filling. That is not lasagna. We presented a coupon for 33% off, they only took off 30%. We didn't care to argue, we just subtracted it from the tip.

Excellent food. Fast, friendly service. The homemade bread and appetizers were excellent. My husband said his veal parmigiana was the best he'd ever had.

Great service! Very friendly staff and well maintained place of business. The food is authentic and very delicious. The personal pizza is at a good cost and full of flavor, as is the salads and appetizers. Very good place to eat after a long day at Sesame Place with the kids. Recommended to all!

Very bizarre issue/incident with this restaurant that they should address: If you go to their website, it lists one menu with multiple sections (antipasto, calzone, pizza, etc). If you eat there, its a completely different dinner menu. Apparently, the online menu is their takeout menu, although it doesn't say that anywhere on their website. The dinner menu is not mentioned online. How did this come up? My wife called Carlucci's in Yardley, asking if they could accomodate our party of 10 adults, 8 kids for pizza/dinner to celebrate my 5 year old's birthday. They referred us to their sister restaurant in Langhorne which said they could handle us no problem and we could bring in our own dessert (cupcakes) which was great. Then we get there and the menu doesn't match what we saw online and we're told we can't order pizza for the kids (or if we do, its individual pizzas from the dinner menu, much more expensive). We had 8 hungry kids with us who just spent a few hours in the sun at Sesame Place--- they're literally begging for the pizza they were expecting. I asked to speak with the manager. The waitress called him Mr. Capuano, so apparently he's someone from the family that owns this chain of restaurants. He came over and I asked him about the difference with the menu and showed him the online menu on my phone. His response was incredibly nasty and dismissive, telling me that I was wrong and him walking away while I was still talking to him. He wasn;t willing to spend more than 10 seconds addressing the issue with us. I know its easy for me to say on Yelp, but trust me that this was one of the rudest interactions I've personally experienced in my recent memory, much less from someone representing a business in the service industry. Very unexpected, uncalled for and bizarre. I never post on yelp.. I've eaten in plenty of restaurants and never went home and wrote a review here if that says anything. After further complaining and attracting the attention of other diners with our conversation, we finally were allowed to order pizza, so in the end they took care of us which is fine. I can't imagine going back there after this nonsense, but I'm curious for a proper response from the restaurant. My advice: - Fix your website. Plenty of other restaurants have a take out menu distinct from a dinner menu clearly noted online. Should be an easy fix. - The manager, Mr. Capuano, may want to reevaluate how he speaks with and treats his customers.

I have gluten issues. Asked the server if the dish I was ordering had chicken sautéed in flour. To my surprise the sever said they have a gluten free menu. Then brought out gluten free bread for us with a wide selection of gluten free items including pizza and pasta. Will be back many more times to come.

We've eaten at Mama Mia's many times. The food is ok to good. The service is good. They always have coupons in the clipper magazine and we usually go there for lunch when we're in the area. The coupon says "1/2 off any lunch check" up to $10 value w/purchase of 2 beverages" So do you interpret this to mean that it is 50% off the whole check or just 1 free entree//sandwich/salad?? It doesn't say BOGO. ...They just take off one lunch..... which is not usually the same as 1/2 of the check...... If they mean BOGO that's what the coupon should say! Otherwise we feel cheated. (All their other coupons say a $ amount off the check or one free entree.... )

Delicious food for a great price. I've tried everything here from pasta to salmon to steak - everything yummy and cooked perfectly. Management and waitstaff are all very friendly and accommodating. This place is a sister restaurant to Carlucci's, so expect similar quality. Love it!

One word: Yummy! My husband, mom, and I came here on a whim one evening. We figured we'd like it since it is owned by the same family as Carlucci's which we love. We more than just liked it - it was absolutely mouth watering! They bring out several kinds of bread right away which always makes me happy. Then we started off with an appetizer which was the portabella mushrooms stuffed with crab meat. It was so flavorful, juicy, and fresh. We finished every last morsel. Then the seafood bisque soup came out and it was to die for. It was creamy, full of seafood, and had just the right amount of seasonings. Again, so delicious. My husband said if we weren't in a restaurant he would lick the bowl. Then the entrees came out. I had the cappellini siracusa with cream sauce which had grilled shrimp, julienne vegetables, and was topped with crab meat. The cream sauce was just perfect. Not too heavy, not too light. The shrimp, crab meat, and vegetables were all cooked just right and were light and fresh. This dish is now one of my favorites. My husband and mom also thoroughly enjoyed their entrees as well. My mom had a pasta dish that came with a bunch of kinds of seafood and my husband had the gnocchi. They were both very pleased. I would also like to mention that the service was very good. Waitress was friendly, attentive, and everything came out in a timely manner. We will definitely be back! Now that I'm thinking about their scrumptious food, we may be going back tonight.

Not very good, service was terrible, best part of this place was the elderly Italian Man going table to table. Advertised was Oreo Cheesecake, with a picture of Oreo cheesecake, what came out was a regular cheesecake with crushed Oreos on top, not exactly the same thing. I ordered Penne ala vodka with Chicken, sauce was bland and ad no taste. There was also branding issues. Place is called Mamma Mia and had place mats from another restaurant

Came here after a friend recommended the place saying the food was good and other people they had recommended to also had said it was good! However, the food for us that day was no good! All of the vegtables were over cooked and chewy, and the food was almost tasteless! My parents absolutely hated it and they would have given zero stars as my dad proclaimed five times that he would never return. However, for me at least, the food was bearable, not the worst but I most likely will never be returning either! Our waitress did not seem very welcoming either so the overall mood was a little dull!

We come to Mamma Mia Trattoria about once a week. The reasons are many, but great food and great service are at the top of the list. Everything I've ever tried has been delicious, and they will gladly work with you to get something done YOUR way, even if it's not on the menu. My husband eats gluten-free and they accommodate him just fine. We find the sauces to be wonderful! The meals include bread, plus a salad or soup. Since it's a BYOB, you can enjoy your own preference, and they make a very decent cappuccino, too. The service is always excellent - by now they know us pretty well, and are always welcoming and friendly. There is nothing they won't do to make your experience a good one. They even offer coupons quite often through e-mail and regular mailings - which makes going there even a better deal than their regular prices. During high party times of the year, they can get a little busy on Sat nights, but they eally try to get meals out quickly and turn tables over for the next guests. I can't think of a single thing I'd change there.

I really enjoyed it here. Casual atmosphere, good service and very friendly staff. Food was great, I had the penne with meatballs and sausage. Did I mention that it was really good? And, their bread is fantastic! Seriously, bread can make or break a place in my book. Prices were very reasonable. Be warned though, they don't serve alcohol.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
