One of the best Chinese buffets in the area. And very cheap!

The place is OK. They like to hide dishes that are higher in cost like seafood. I found their seafood plates empty a lot. When I pay for dinner price, I expect there to be at least fish and clams. I am a seafood person. However, they don't like to replenish seafood dishes. I stopped going there after that happened to me a few times. Their sushi is not bad tho.

Quite reasonably priced for lunch with a good selection of Chinese and American foods and a smattering of Japanese sushi and rolls.Fruit, desert and salad give you a balanced meal. and 6 choices of ice cream helped seal the deal. I thought that service was good and unobstrusive. It was packed with locals when I came for lunch on Saturday and I an see why. Well-cooked entres and a great variety at a fantastic price make this a must come whenever I am in the area.

It was wicked cheap at $ 5.99 for lunch but I found nothing to be tasty. Everything had a vague, way in the distance off taste. I took no second trip for the "greatest hits", as there was nothing I liked enough to get it again, and this included the hot and sour soup, which is usually my "dessert".

$7 lunch, $10 dinner, and plenty of options and a great value (especially compared with the overpriced food across the street in the amusement park). The steamed mussels and the coconut shrimp were great, the salmon steamed in just water not so much; plenty of options for everyone at the table, and at more than a reasonable price. I came here on a lunch break from Dutch Wonderland (just across the street) and left happy with different tastes alltogether. I wouldn't come here for the sushi or salad (it's a Chinese buffet, I mean, really...), and I've always liked to eat a bit of everything.

Terrible terrible terrible terrible service!!! I wish I could give them zero stars!!! The wait staff is the rudest I have seen in all my years of going to a buffet! Then they speak their native language around you in a manner that would make anyone uncomfortable. Then they put shrimp out which was supposed to be for dinner...they actually came back in retrieved the shrimp that was on a separate plate!! Yes that actually happened!! I don't usually write reviews but I needed to let unsuspecting patrons know to steer clear of this place!! Worst buffet I have ever patronized!!

Well as you can tell from my other reviews that I try to give non biased reviews and are no means my personal opinions just the facts........with that being said the food here is good but typical Chinese buffet style with beef, pork, chicken and fish, salad bar, sushi, hibachi grill, deserts, etc the bad part is lack of service and the caring to make it right the whole time we were there it felt awkward like we were bothering them and disrupting their little community.at first when we got there they were smiling and sat us and got us drinks but that was the last we saw of our waitress until 30-45 mins later when I got up with 4 drink glasses to find the soda machine so I could fill them myself and then when the bill came she hovered over us waiting on a big tip.....hu? For what ignoring us the whole night....me thinks not.so take this review for what it is food is good but the service is poor if you want to eat and book then by all means eat here but if your looking for family friendly atmosphere this is not the place......PS the 1 star is for the service not the food...the food gets 3 stars

We wanted to try this restaurant because it was close to the outlet mall and it had more customers than other restaurants around there. Once we entered, the hostess greeted us in a "whatever" manner and then we had to wait for like 30 minutes for a table. The place is small so we got this table that was literally next to another table and the space was so tiny that we couldn't even get out to get food without asking the people around us to move. The waitress was really slow on serving us. The food was definitely a no no. The noodles and veggies were dry and had no flavors at all. My boyfriend tried the crawfishes and it was extremely dry and no flavors at all. I am a vegetarian so I decided to get myself noodles from hibachi since I can get all the vegetables with noodle. It was such a disappointment. I stood there for 15 minutes and the person worked in the back was too busy cutting sushi and did not acknowledge me at all even though he turned around to check on us. Five more minutes, someone else came out and he took an order from this white man behind me and I told him I was here first and I've been here for 20 mins and he told me to hold on. I was literally told him "do not tell me to hold up when I was here first and this white man came later, so why would you take his order before me?" I was really upset with the service and the hibachi chef literally took the order from the white man behind me rather than my order. What kind of service is that? I will definitely not planning to come back and do not recommend this place to anyone either. I never ever gotten this bad service before.

I did not enjoy the food here. Sushi was not good. Crawfish was dried and tasted old. If you want ice cream you have to scoop it yourself and it does not seem sanitary. The people at the hibachi were rude to my friend. I would not come back here based on taste and service. If you want happy customers treat them right.

Will definitely drive here from York for Chinese food.. It's much better than the buffets that are closer to us..

This restaurant is always a must-visit for me every time I am in Lancaster. I've been coming here for almost 20 years. While the buffet food may not always be the best, I always come for the mongolian grill....and that's where I get my money's worth. You pick what meat and toppings you want with your noodles (and for dinner you can get a steak as well, with it), add the sauce you want, maybe a hint of garlic for flavor, and a guy cooks it hot and fresh in front of you.... it makes for a cheap filling lunch or dinner and is always excellent. I've read the complaints in other reviews on here and yes sometimes the food is not as hot as it should be, silverware not as clean as it should be, etc but the truth is, I've seen more "local plates" in the parking lot than "out of state plates". If this place didn't have good food, they wouldn't have been able to survive in the location as long as they have when several other restaurants on the same stretch of highway have changed owners and styles of food many times over. As long as this place is around, I will definitely keep coming back.

ok for a cheap lunch. decent variety. not very clean. i will never understand why businesses put carpet in restraunts and buffets. yuck.

Came here after splitting a sub at Subway from Tanger. Lunch crowd was in. In comparison to other chinese buffets, this sits at above average. They have the typical foods but they tasted better. Note it is pretty hard to miss. I believe it's immediately after the right turn out of the Tanger Outlet center.

  • Moly K.

The place is smaller than I think it should be. It's a little bit hard to move around when there are people taking food.Anyway, the food is good.I will come here again if I come to the outlet.

No need to look at the lot full of out of state vehicles if you check the local restaurant inspections in the newspaper to determine whether this place is worth going to. The lack of locals in the parking lot is the first sign. The second would be the long list of violations. Having ate here personally BEFORE reading the inspections now I know why everyone in our party left with belly aches. We are fortunate that we didn't leave with something more serious. I once read an inspection violation where they tested positive for "fecal matter" at the buffet counter. Yuk! Nothing like having a side of poop with your fried rice.

Nothing too special, but for an $11 dinner it can't be beat. A good variety of food, plenty of seafood, and a good mix of adventurous (octopus salad, sushi, etc) to expected (mash potatoes, french fries) ...I was a happy camper.

I use to love this place, however lately the food just isn't what it use to be so I stopped going a couple months ago. Not to mention the servers got really nasty!

Only two good things are wonton soup and crab rangoons otherwise not worth $11 bucks IMO. Service is lacking but then you're getting your own food but they don't seem to offer drink refills. Esp lousy was the hostess/cashier up front didn't say thank you, good night or anything...they better improve or they will lose business to other places on Lincoln hwy!

It was one of worst Chinese buffet I never went. hot & sour soup: do not try .. there is no flavor. Egg drop soup: not bad dumpling seems to be bit doughy fried shrimp with shell-- lack spices and crispness flounder: steamed again very mildly seasoning. Mongorian BBQ beef are so tough I could cut with knife. generally speaking most of food seems to lack flavor/seasoning. ie it seems to be very lightly/mildly seasoned. not typical Chinese restaurant I have been in the past.

Another reviewer mentioned the location -- that's the key. If this place was hard to get to, it wouldn't last long. The food (typical chinese buffet) is mediocre, the sodas watered down, and no soft ice cream machine. Most of the time the food seems to have been out awhile.

This place has three large double-sided buffet tables, an ice cream cooler and a Mongolian BBQ station. At the first table you'll find all of your cold items and desserts, this is also where the sushi and soups are. It's all pretty typical, hot & sour soup, wonton soup, egg flower soup, California rolls, ebi, tofu sushi, fruit, puddings, basic "airy" cakes, almond cookies, banana pudding, etc. They also have your basic salad stuff and dressings, Ranch, blue cheese, cocktail sauce, tarter sauce, etc. There is the ice cream cooler nearby that has 5 or 6 flavors of hand-dipped Turkey Hill ice cream including vanilla, chocolate, butter pecan and peanut butter swirl. To the left of the ice cream is the Mongollian BBQ station. Here you'll find various meats (chicken, steak, shrimp) and vegetables (sprouts, green beans, carrots, mushrooms, etc.). If you're unfamiliar, you grab a bowl and fill it with the items you would like including noddles and there is a chef there that will cook them all together right in front of you. There are also various sauces that you can mix in. When I went I did not try this but everything looked fresh and clean. The other two buffet tables have all of your hot items, French fries, onion rings, macaroni & cheese, pastry wrapped hot dogs, fried donuts, scalloped potatoes, pizza, chicken wings, and then all of your typical Chinese buffet items, lo-mein, noodles, five-flavor chicken, General Tso's, chicken fried rice, steamed rice, sweet & sour chicken, pork ribs, beef broccoli, etc. They also have a decent variety of seafood items, baked (imitation) crab, crab legs, crab stuffed mushrooms, baked clams, seafood delight, fried shrimp, cocktail shrimp, steamed fish and fried fish. I have a much more in-depth review on my personal blog.

AWFUL! HORRIBLE! TERRIBLE! I cannot say enough about how AWFUL this place is. There is also an online HEALTH INSPECTOR's review about STAR buffet. It's a very loud place with cold food and very dirty. They pack you in like cattle. Remember, this is just my opinion. I see others liked it and my father loved it UNTIL I read the online Health report.

I know what you're thinking: Wow, another lousy Chinese buffet, but this is definitely a step above the rest. In addition to a really good selection of Chinese dishes on the buffet, they include a surprisingly good sushi bar and Mongolian grill with the dinner. The sushi bar included a great selection of differerent kinds of rolls and various nigiri sushi. This servers are very attentive and the buffet price is very reasonable considering the quality and selection. I highly recomment this restaurant.

This was absolutely horrible. The food itself was not bad until about 6 hours later when me and my mother had horrific vomitting, diarrhea and we slept for 24 hours. Could not eat or drink all day and still two days later still feel off. It was one of the worst cases of food poisoning I have ever gotten. I, nor anyone I know, will EVER go back.

I took my family here for lunch and this is what we thought of the place. You can't beat their prices and the selection of food was good. The only problem we had was that the help hovers over you and the waitresses stare at you when you ask them for something. I would eat there again but I would recommend that their service is more attentative.

Good Selection of food buffet style. Lots of American, & Chinese selections. Also quite a few vegetarian options. This buffet is located right across the street from Dutch Wonderland.

Typical Chinese buffet. I enjoyed the Mongolian BBQ - you pick any toppings like noodles, mushrooms, shrimp, etc. and have the cook stir-fry it in front of you.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
