Great Pho, I think it is number 46 or 47 that I get. The portions are huge.

Big portions and very good quality. Not a great atmosphere but kind service. Will go back.

tremendously fresh flavors. Very nice service. Definitely going back again.

Decent pho, goi cuon and cha gio. The menu has a lot of different dishes for those who want more than just pho. It's a small restaurant but the size gives it a cozy warm feeling. Staff was friendly and nice. Give this place a try if you are in the area and are in the mood for Vietnamese food.

Excellent food! We drive to Lancaster just to come to this place.

Being from NYC I rarely try Asian food outside of the city because I always wonder where they get the freshest Asian ingredients from. However Saigon Cafe was definitely great, if not better than most NYC Vietnamese restaurants, they even add in authentic spices that are lacking in most other restaurants. Also, I would highly recommended the fried tofu that comes with rice paper (banh cuon).

  • Allison S.

Tonight, over and over, the owner showed my husband and me how to use the rice paper rolls to eat our dinner. We were clueless. She saw us eating, came over how to demonstrate how to do it properly (dunking the rolls in hot water) watched from a distance, returned to patiently show us again. Lovely food and sweet staff. "The best food I have ever had in a shopping center," my husband said.

Not impressed! Maybe I'm spoiled by lil Saigon being a couple of miles from work and easily accessible for lunch on weekdays. This place has poor quality food and poor service. Broth in the pho bowls were waaaay too salty where I can't even taste the flavors. There were 2 miserly pieces of thin meat, little bit of veggies next to a bunch of pho. The springs rolls were also very mediocre. Service was very spotty, tables were dirty, and bathrooms made me want to gag. Minimum $15 purchase to use credit cards. No thanks!

The food is spot on , every time. I eat in and have done take out as well. The fresh herbs are great. You leave feeling satisfied but not uncomfortable because the food is nice and light!

I was in town for business and stayed at a hotel close by. I had a hankering form Asian food and picked the closest place because I was in a time crunch. I wasn't the only customer they forgot about. Even though I had ordered my food to go, the "go" is seriously lacking. I am someone who gets hangry, I'm sorry, but I do. If you want Pho like I did tonight, this place will do. But it left me wanting more.

  • Dustin O.

Great service and great food! Don't hesitate coming here! The pho has an incredible taste and I really enjoyed the fresh spring rolls.

This is truly the best authentic Vietnamese restaurant in the Lancaster County area. Food is absolutely great. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I have been here with my boyfriend several times and every time I leave satisfied. Hats off to all the cooks. LOL sorry about the "heads off" I believe my head was not with me that day. Thank you Don. :)

I finally made it back to Saigon Cafe today and, again, I was blown away. Try their drinks! The chè ba mâù (three color dessert) is perfection and so are their sinh to (fruit smoothies) - choose from durian, jackfruit, or avocado. The durian is surprisingly palatable and the jackfruit has a banana/apple flavor to it. Yum. I tried the spring rolls again and they were much better than before. I split the bánh xèo (halfmoon crepe) with my mom - a wise decision because it was HUGE. Roll up bites of crepe and fresh herbs with the lettuce and dip in nuoc cham. We also ordered the hu tiu tôm cua (a soup with shrimp, crab meat and rice noodles). Very good and served with similar accoutrements to ph. The service is shockingly fast. They are both efficient and polite. A rare, but winning combination. I wish I had a reason to be in Lancaster more often because Saigon Cafe has won me over entirely.

This place was a far second to Rice and Noodles for me, but close to my house in Lancaster. It's a quick place that is well priced. I would suggest getting it to go - their interior isn't anything special, is in a strip mall, and is crowded. I always ended up on top of someone picking it up to go who was sat at the unfortunate table by the cash register. Their food lacked flavor. Given my husband can't eat pho due to an allergy, I never get it anymore, so I can't judge that. But their rolls were too full of lettuce and were basically lettuce wraps. Their food is good - solid stuff that is good quality, but lacks flavor.

  • Nicole B.

I eat here about once a month, both dining in and taking out. I typically order the tofu pho with egg rolls and a durian milkshake. The service has always been outstanding and the food is fresh and consistent each time I go. The tables are a bit close together, so I would not recommend dining in for larger parties.

Best place for pho and vietnamese coffee! Moving from Philly to Lancaster I was afraid of not having my weekly desire for pho satisfied, but this place fulfills that need. The service is quick and friendly.

  • Asa N.

I have never been to Lancaster before and found this place on Yelp. Ordered pho, Vietnamese pancakes and avocado milkshake. The soup base was very tasty. It's above average. Better than some Vietnamese in NY.

  • Rick K.

This is the benchmark of Pho in Lancaster County. I have tried it at many places, and I simply cannot find a place that beats their Pho. I take newbies to this place so their first experience is a high water mark. I try to get here as much as I can. The staff is super friendly, obviously family owned, and the food is unbelievable. I have tried other items, including the shakes, spring rolls, etc... I can't move off of #53 with extra meat, it is my favorite. If you get here, be adventurous, try the durian shake, it is actually really good.

  • B P.

Have only been the one time, this was recommended as "true Vietnamese comfort food. The dish I had was and interesting egg based dish, that you wrapped in lettuce leaves, along with veggies, and dipped in a delicious sauce. Would definitely revisit if through this way again, very flavorful dishes.

  • Campo W.

It was ok, had the Pho, it was good for an asian restaurant in Lancaster, I have had much better, growing up in Chinatown, NY of course, but it is good. The place could be a bit more cleaner, otherwise, if you do not want to goto the other viet places for food or pho, I guess this will do.

Amazingly delicious pan fried noodles with tofu and vegetables! One of my favorite restaurants in Lancaster. Great casual restaurant. Huge menu, great vegan options! I'm a fan!

  • Stacie M.

We really liked Saigon Cafe. My husband enjoyed the Pho very much. I ordered a noodle dish that was pretty good! I highly recommend the 'Rainbow dessert". Just try it, don't ask what is in it! The coconut milk was delicious, as was the fresh lemonade. I left being very very impressed with the quality of everything we ate. I do not usually eat Vietnamese food, so I am no expert. But we felt like what we were eating was fresh and tasted delicious.

  • Benny P.

Service here is extremely pleasant. The food is exceptionally good and the atmosphere is very comfortable. This is a great place to grab a bite with some friends for dinner or lunch. You will never feel out of place. Personally I find this place to be a sanctuary where I can forget whatever may be bugging me at the time and get down with a delicious bowl of PHO or one of the many other tasty menu items. Also of note, the drink selection is nice and eclectic. An adventurous patron may find themselves fraught with conflict in terms of which strangely delicious liquid they ought to suck down first. Overall, just a lovely place to get your eat on.

Another of our favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Lancaster. Very friendly service. Especially like the special S2 and the vermicelli salad bowls. Casual dress and we've never experienced a wait here (though it's never empty). Reasonably priced.

Worst broth ever, they need to fix it... I'd rather eat at KFC...

  • Lori S.

I hate to give this place a bad review because they were super friendly, but I was not impressed with their food at all. I ordered Beef Pho and the broth was bland and had an odd flavor that just turned me off. I also had 2 different types of summer rolls and regular egg rolls. One of the summer rolls was supposed to have pork as one of the fillings but it had a gritty odd texture which was very unpleasant in my mouth. The egg rolls were good, but not spectacular. All-in-all really not worth the money for me.

One of the best Pho I've ever had! The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. If you get pho for carry out the separate everything, even the noodles. Warning if you order the rare thinly sliced beef that's exactly what you'll get in your box

Excellent food !! I was here earlier this year, For appetizers, I got the vietamese spring rolls( which I split) for the entree(s) I had the broken rice with the pork chops and the Beef Pho ( I eat a LOT)! The broth was very flavorful and tasty. The broken rice and pork chops were awesome. The pork chops were tender and well cooked. Service is very good, the people speak good english and are very helpful.I am definately looking forward to going back here when I visit 'lil sis.

Stopped in for a bowl of pho and was very pleased, very pleased indeed. The broth was incredibly rich and flavorful, noodles were good and meat combo was delicious. Interior is pretty plain but clean and service was great. I'll give them 4 stars overall and will definitely be coming back.

We went to Saigon Cafe on a cold and rainy Saturday evening, and had one thing on our minds: Pho! After reading the reviews of some other Yelpers, the restaurant came highly recommended. Well, as usual, the Yelpers were right. The Pho was piping hot and the broth was very savory with just a hint of anise. We also ordered Spring rolls which were fresh and made to perfection. If you want some good Vietnamese food, this is the place!

  • Larry M.

We go here for lunch about once a week and love it. Best dishes are the #80 (spicy soup), #75 (shrimp & beef), and the S1 (rice & noodles). The egg rolls are also extremely good. Note that they're closed on Mondays.

    (5)
  • M V.

Consistently excellent food (even compared to the best of NYC Vietnamese restaurants). Not much in the way of ambience or service, but that's ok. When we're in this area we always eat here rather than one of the Pennsylvania Dutch restaurants.

  • george a.

Ive eaten here several times and every time I was disappointed. The vegetarian items on the menu have tofu instead of dead animals, but in this case Im not sure which would be better. You cant just toss some tofu in food and call it done. It takes some effort to make it not like a sponge. Unfortunately this place knows how to make sponges quite well. Every time I went I just ended up eating the steamed rice that comes with the meal because I just couldnt eat any more sponges. Go to Rice and Noodles for decent Vietnamese tofu. Located in the strip mall behind KFC on Manheim Pike and Granite Run. Credit cards accepted.

Excellent food. My husband and I have been going here for the past year.We go here almost every week. The menu is extensive and the service friendly and quick. We have never had a bad meal here.

Consistently good pho with excellent spring rolls. Not packed with lettuce like competing resuaurants. Grilled chicken and broken rice is especially delicious.

Our favorite spot for Pho and beef balls in Central PA! Ingredients are always incredibly fresh, and if you like durian, be sure to order the durian shake. My 10-year-old son's favorite!!

Best Vietnamese restaurant in Lancaster. Try the S3 or S4, its noodles and chicken/shrimp (S3/S4). Or do what i do and ask for chicken AND shrimp, the shrimp are huge and a great value!

Absolutely the best pho in Lancaster county!!!! This is a regular favorite. Small, family owned and authentic.

  • Snoopy L.

Average place not completely Authentic. I came in with family and had dinner. Nothing great. Had pho noodle soups which had a slight sweet taste on the soup -- not authentic. The dried noodle bowl also sub par. Service was good but place not that clean as we had dirty stuff on chair and sticky tabletop. There's probably better place nearby but unfamiliar with area. I'm Chinese do know a bit about Asian food in general.

Hole in the wall, but great food. So fresh. Such wow flavour. Pho is a must. Pho real.

  • Lin C.

At first sight, the prices were a little high. Then...we found out that the portions were in fact huge! Even my father, who isn't an avid fan of pho, thought that it was the best pho he's ever had. The pho and the beef stew are a must try! The Che Ba Mau was also so delicious. From the first bite to the last gulp!

I headed up to Saigon Cafe for a late lunch today. It is one of my go to Vietnamese places within a quick drive of my house. Although not my favorite Vietnamese place, it is quite good. The customers are a mix of Vietnamese and Anglos like me. I went for my favorite meal, the Pork Bun Something or Other with Vermicelli Noodles, Egg Roll, and Fish Sauce. It had a bit too much lettuce in it, otherwise the dish was great. The pork was crispy and delicious. The appetizer spring rolls were very good and I really dug the crunchy peanut sauce. The bill with tip was around 15 dollars which is a good price. I am happy that authentic Vietnamese places are still around. Several have folded in the last couple of years. One kind of deserved to, the other two didn't. So, long live The Saigon Cafe. May it remain supported by the locals in the years to come .

  • Cassandra C.

I don't know too much about this food, but I wasn't overwhelmed with it. I had egg rolls that were over fried. The noodle dish I had wasn't bad, but nothing too special. Maybe I need to eat more vietnamese food, but this stop didn't inspire me to try more.

My husband and I are at Saigon Cafe about 2 times a month. We love it. The service is quick and efficient, even if it's not the friendliest. Although we sometimes change up our entree selections, we order the spring rolls every single time we come here and they never disappoint! A few months ago, we tried ordering the summer rolls for a change, but the waitress (owner?) talked us out of it. The beef stew with rice noodles (#39) is my go-to dish in winter. It comes with big chunks of beef (some especially fatty pieces), soft carrots, and rice noodles in this incredible beef stock. In the warmer months, I usually order the grilled chicken and broken rice (#69). The chicken is cooked to perfection over a bed of broken rice with cucumbers, pickled carrots, and daikon, and fish sauce on the side. The avocado milkshake is amazing, too, for a once-in-awhile treat. It's refreshing and creamy--perfect on a really hot day. Saigon Cafe is in a small, nondescript strip mall and the interior isn't anything to write home about, but the inside is clean and spacious with plenty of seating, so no complaints here.

  • Kammy Ny N.

It's a bit pricy for their location and food. But good thing is you don't need to go to Philly to crave Vietnamese. We tried beef pho and fresh spring rolls, both was good. Be aware they charge for tea, which normally are supposed to be complimentary in Chinatown,NYC.

    (3)
  • KatyCakes M.

Don't be fooled by the strip mall location. This place is a hidden gem! One of the best Vietnamese I've ever had in he US. Ingredients are very fresh. Nothing is greasy at all. The veggies seem like they were plucked right from the garden they're so fresh! And by the way I had Broken rice with chicken and added two eggs. The portion was HUGE! If I wasn't in a hotel I would've taken leftovers for tomorrow!

These guys have the most amazing, authentic soups in all of Lancaster County and maybe even PA. The decor could use a little help but the food speaks for itself. Definitely give this place a try

  • Joshua V.

Not a bad bowl of pho. This is an especially pleasant surprise seeing as how there are not too many kinds of these joints around the Lancaster area. The mushroom and pork egg roll left a little to be desired, maybe a few more seconds in the deep fryer and maybe a bit more salt in the meat mixture. Other than that, I like the option to have "rare" beef slices as opposed to overcooked slices. I like how place is getting popular with the locals, it means it'll still be around the next time I'm around town.

  • Anthony Z.

We stopped here on vacation. The food was great. We got the spring rolls and rare beef Pho. The spring rolls had shrimp, pork, lettuce, mint and basil. Served cold with a dipping sauce. The sauce and rolls had good flavor. The Pho was the best I have had in a while. I got the extra large for a dollar more. The portion was huge. The broth tasted very good and the beef was tender. Everything was cooked perfect. The prices are very reasonable. Next time we are in town we will be going back. I wish I could find food like this closer to home....

  • Jacob K.

When I am in Lancaster visiting family, this is one of our go to restaurants. I love the Bánh Hi Đu H. It's a blast to roll your own spring rolls and choose what you want in each one. I've had the pho a few times and thought it was pretty good. Tonight I had the grilled pork and egg roll vermicelli bowl, which was kind of meh. Most of the things I've had have been nom hits. Solid choice.

    (4)
  • Mark M.

Very poor vegetarian dishes. Even the stir fry is literally boiled plain noodles with steamed vegetables on top not even mixed together or with any seasoning. Also found a piece of metal in the dish. This was the second time I tried their food and it was just as disappointing as the first.

    (1)
  • Winsum C.

I do not like this place. While the restaurant was clean, the service was poor. They took the wrong orders: we didn't get our coffee and got a more expensive dish. Serving sizes were huge, but the food was not exceptional. Spring roles were burnt and not authentically Vietnamese. Pho was OK. The crunchy noodles were bad.

Went here for lunch. The place is small with little tables but clean. I got the #88 with tofu and rice noodles that came with lettuce. On the menu, it was for one person but since it was lunch, I was not as hungry so I split it for two. The portions are quite large and everything was fresh. The only concern is that the tables are small so with all the plates, it was crowded. Overall this is a great place for fresh and clean vietnamese food. The price is just a little high since most of the food is just lettuce and rice noodles. Also, be careful with how many people you come with as the tables might be overcrowded.

  • Douglas W.

Great food. I would give it 5 stars except for some of the non-food issues that others have decided to solely rate this place by. The most important issue for me is the food. Unless you outright abuse me and/or forget to serve me, I will put up with some small inconveniences. I ordered the chicken soup with pork and shrimp dumplings. I got a small with 3 dumplings, bbq pork and vegetables in a terrific broth redolent with sesame. Added some sriracha and it was outstanding. I followed it with a bowl of their lemongrass chicken. It was served over noodles with mint, sprouts, cucumbers, shredded carrots and lettuce. Great lemongrass flavor. This was a really wonderful dish and more food than I could finish. I should have skipped the bowl of soup in retrospect but glad I tried it. Miriam started with the rice crepes filled with pork and mushrooms topped with Vietnamese ham with sides of sprouts, mint, cucumbers. I tried a few bites and loved this dish too. The wait for service was long, the wait for food was long and it was hard to get their attention at times. They were very busy but again aren't terribly concerned with the quality of service. They don't understand it clearly. We were, however, only there for an hour altogether so what's the real problem Don't forget we did have 2 courses. I could see how it could get uglier so just chill and plan to be there awhile. It would have been less a deal but it was pretty hot and stuffy in there so maybe wait and come when it's not 90 degrees and humid outside. I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

    (4)
  • Eliz V.

first thing is poor service! We had to wait 20mins before our food came out. the Pho is great but all other food is just average. Also, seating is very tight. Though i have to say this is probably the only authentic Asian restaurant around town its alright but i wont go unless its necessary.

Having just moved back to Lancaster after living in NYC for the last ten years, this place is where I get my ethnic fix. Their Pho and Bun are particularly good. Especially the Tofu Bun marinated in chili, garlic, and lemongrass. Recommended.

Saigon was a really good find. The dining room is clean and quiet, and the dishes were very good. I've eaten in Vietnamese Restaurants in many cities, and for flavor and affordability, Saigon is as good as many celebrated spots in Philly. The pork, shrimp, Bok choi and rice noodles with soup broth on the side was very good. Worth the visit!

Saigon Cafe is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Lancaster. Their pho is excellent. The broth is very tasty and I really like how thinly sliced the beef is. They give you plenty of basil as well. They even have tapioca noodles instead of rice noodles. The bun is actually my favorite dish. It is flavorful and very fresh. All of their ingredients are fresh. The che bau mau is the best I've ever had. If you've never had it you are really missing out. The food is reasonably priced and the staff is very nice.

As someone normally spoiled by the wealth of Vietnamese delights out in the Philly area, I generally expect to be a bit disappointed when I hunt down Vietnamese restaurants elsewhere. And hot diggity... I was so totally pleased with everything about Saigon Cafe. To start they have a huge menu with things on it I have rarely seen outside of places on Washington Ave in Philly. For starters Bánh Xèo - the enormous crepe, which I shared with my parents, was served with a mountain of super fresh herbs and lettuce. It was delicious, stuffed with big shrimp. I had a delightful jackfruit milkshake, so creamy. I had Bánh Hi Tôm Nng (Grilled Shrimp Thin Rice Vermicelli Wraps). The platter was beautifully presented, the shrimp cooked perfect, a heap of herbs, a plate of rice papers, piping hot water bowl to soak them. My parents both had Bún Gà Xào X t (Lemongrass Chicken stir fry Vermicelli Bún). I tasted the chicken and it was moist and nicely seasoned, and likewise nicely presented in a huge bowl topped with chopped fresh herbs and pickled daikon and carrots. They both really enjoyed their meals even though they haven't had too much Vietnamese food before. Service was quick and very pleasant, the place was packed early on a Sunday evening, though we did have to wait a while to get our check after we were finished eating. It isn't much to look at decor-wise and it is a bit difficult to see from the street but they totally impressed me and the next time I am in Lancaster I will be back, there is plenty more I want to sample! Out of the 3 Viet restaurants in Lancaster I've been to, Rice & Noodles has now moved down to my number 2 spot after trying this.

Constructive criticism: i have eaten at saigon cafe several times over the years and I feel it was worse each time. Perhaps my expectations are high because I dine often at Philly Vietnamese restaurants? Here are thinga to note: Pros: small setting is more relaxed, not fast food type place. Menu has adequate variety. Staff is friendly Cons: where to start? Wait time is very long, i waited at least 45 minutes for food after ordering each time. Waiter forgot to bring our drinks on two occasions. Maybe they are understaffed? Food itself is substandard. The pho broth is very bland and dilute. Fried Spring rolls were brought out almost soggy and basically are full of cabbage. The pork chop was dry, thin, and salty. I recall the only thing i ever finished there were the eggs i got with the pork chop dish. You may ask why I went to this place more than once if its so bad. The answer is because it was the only viet place open on Sunday other than Lancaster Pho, which is slightly worse. Nevertheless I will never eat here again. If i am in a group and they want to go to this spot, Ill pick up an ice cream cone from the Ritas next door and sit and watch them eat. For real Vietnamese food, try Pho 75 or pretty much anywhere in Philly. On Lancaster, try Rice and Noodles (great Pho!)

I make it a point to search out Vietnamese restaurants wherever I am. I travel quite a bit and that includes Europe. I have rarely had Pho as good as at Saigon Cafe. This is because they make real stock, roast and scrape the bones, take their time and get it right. The other Pho restaurants in town seem to work from soup base as do many Vietnamese restaurants. I know their are a few odd reviews that say their broth is not up to snuff. Then there are people in Lancaster who prefer Rice and Noodles whose broth I find insipid. Saigon Cafe is always a treat and puts a smile on my face every time.

We enjoyed dinner here so much that we brought some friends in the next night. The rice paper crepes with pork and mushrooms and topped with Vietnamese ham listed under the appetizers were outstanding, and ample enough of a portion to share or eat as a meal. The fish sauce they serve here, while mild, added lots of flavor to the dish...I just poured it over the crepes, and it helped to keep them moist, so they didn't stick together as they sat. I also had a small size of the Saigon style wonton soup, which I've never seen on a menu, and was delicious. The dumplings are large and filled with ground pork and large pieces of shrimp. These two items alone would keep me coming back here. I had the crepe listed under the entrees the following night. It was OK, but had an abundance of the large mung bean sprouts in it...this seemed to make up most of the filling, and I got a little tired of it. Overall, however, the food quality is very good, and I would return to try more of the menu. Service can be lax, but if you're patient and not overly critical of that, you'll enjoy it here.

The best Vietnamese within driving distance. Always fresh and flavorful. A bit of a language barrier when ordering - I've had more than one mix-ups, but the owner has always corrected any mistakes with a smile and an apology. I always go for the lemongrass tofu dish. I'm very picky about the quality of my meats, so I always tend to go vegetarian when eating out.

Ate at the Saigon Cafe for the first time and liked the selection of truly Vietnamese dishes that go beyond the typical bun and pho dishes. I had the spring rolls which were lovely and had the right amount of Cilantro in them, and then my dining partner and I shared 2 entrees. One was a grilled pork with the vermicelli noodles that you dip your own clear rice wrap in hot water and dip the roll into a sweet sauce and the other was a pork and sausage crepe. Both were excellent. The restaurant is in a strip mall, and the decor is a bit 'mall chinese' but the staff are friendly and helpful, and the food was wonderful. I intend to eat here again when I am in Lancaster.

Just okay. What is has going for it is that they are authentic Viet but the food is just okay. To be fair, I have had some really spectacular Viet food in my life so I may be a tad harsh in my review. The spring roll was the large, Chinese food type. To me, that's not authentic. The filling was okay. Had the Pho. Again just okay. My friend had the pork chops. It was tasty but had a very artificial red color to them. The place is your typical small strip mall spartanly furnished asian restaurant. The service was slow that night. We went Saturday night and the place was full. The place is small and there aren't that many tables but for whatever reason, the staff just couldn't keep up. They were very nice though.

I'm from Los Angeles and have eaten in Orange County-the hub of Vietnamese food in LA. Saigon Cafe is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Lancaster. The prices for their soups, salads, noodle dishes are very reasonable, almost too good particularly for the quantity. Try Bun Tom Thither Nuong, Cha Gio, Bun Dau Hu Xao Xa Ot.

This place is good, portions are sizable and staff is friendly. Definitely the best pho in Lancaster, Pa. Atleast from the places i tried in the area. The only disappointment is the hours of operation. I tried going back and they were closed and it was unmarked. so you may want to call ahead before making the drive.

Good food... Friendly people.... And you know what..... I go the to eat before I leave for business which always ends up being for 3 months long..... Their durian milk shake is awesome.....

Very poor vegetarian dishes. Even the stir fry is literally boiled plain noodles with steamed vegetables on top not even mixed together or with any seasoning. Also found a piece of metal in the dish. This was the second time I tried their food and it was just as disappointing as the first.

These guys have the most amazing, authentic soups in all of Lancaster County and maybe even PA. The decor could use a little help but the food speaks for itself. Definitely give this place a try

I don't know too much about this food, but I wasn't overwhelmed with it. I had egg rolls that were over fried. The noodle dish I had wasn't bad, but nothing too special. Maybe I need to eat more vietnamese food, but this stop didn't inspire me to try more.

I love this place. Usually the Vietnamese restaurants have a specialty. Like one place makes better Pho than the other, and another places makes the best spring rolls .. ect. However here at Saigon Cafe, they are just all around the BEST. Everything I have tried here is just delicious and well made. I will go out of my way to eat here over any of the other Vietnamese restaurants in Lancaster. The one thing I wish they would have is Banh Mi. I love those sandwiches and its surprisingly missing from the menu.

  • Elizabeth P.

Overall I enjoyed the food. I got a chicken and egg noodle dish that was good, most places I've been to go heavy on the noodles and sauce and light on the veggies and meat, but not here! It was a small bed of noodles piled high with plenty of veggies and chicken. I love veggies so I was very happy. My husband had a fried rice dish and he said it was good. My toddler son ate some of my dinner since he didn't like the egg roll we ordered him (I tried the egg roll and it honestly wasn't very good) but he really liked the noodles and veg on my plate. The staff was friendly and attentive. When they brought the check they also brought a plate of orange slices, I think as complimentary dessert, which was very tasty. We plan to go back and try the pho sometime. Lots of people were ordering it and it looked delicious. I do wish they had a children's menu though for younger kids.

It's a bit pricy for their location and food. But good thing is you don't need to go to Philly to crave Vietnamese. We tried beef pho and fresh spring rolls, both was good. Be aware they charge for tea, which normally are supposed to be complimentary in Chinatown,NYC.

No thanks!

  • Felicia C.

Thankful that I've found a decent ethnic place for when I visit Lancaster. The flavors are not exceptional but I'm glad that it tastes normal.

We go here for lunch about once a week and love it. Best dishes are the #80 (spicy soup), #75 (shrimp & beef), and the S1 (rice & noodles). The egg rolls are also extremely good. Note that they're closed on Mondays.

It was ok, had the Pho, it was good for an asian restaurant in Lancaster, I have had much better, growing up in Chinatown, NY of course, but it is good. The place could be a bit more cleaner, otherwise, if you do not want to goto the other viet places for food or pho, I guess this will do.

Consistently good pho with excellent spring rolls. Not packed with lettuce like competing resuaurants. Grilled chicken and broken rice is especially delicious.

The food is reasonably priced and the staff is very nice.

first thing is poor service!

This place is awesome. Reminds me of pho on Argyle in Chicago. Rice pancake is the bomb!
