If you're looking for a B&B in the Lancaster area stop looking. Trust me, book this one.Run by Lark and Michael and they will make you feel like company, not guests. The house, it's like going back in time, Big wrap around porch. Decorated inside with all kinds of neat period pieces. Hugh curved pocket doors. The main dining room was set with fresh flowers from the garden each morning. We booked the Rose suite, Hugh Master bedroom with a separate sitting room and a private bathroom in suite that has a huge claw foot tub with shower. The king bed had some really nice sheets that you would think was very expensive Egyptian cotton but it tunrs out their microfiber. Whatever, they're the icest sheets I ever slept on. Lark will ask you about any dining preferences you have and what time you would like to eat. She makes an outstanding breakfast, For example, Lark made croissant french toast with cinnamon butter along with fruit and pastry egg cups. There's homemade cookies and a Kurig machine to use along with a refridge with beer in it. This is sooooo much better then a hotel.! Also when you book, they send you a link to coupons for in the Lancaster area for restaurants and places of interest in the area.

I cannot say enough about the gracious hospitality of Lark and Michael. They demonstrate their enthusiasm for being innkeepers with the finest of B&B's. They anticipate every need and accommodate every wish. Staying with them is like staying with your favorite relatives and then you wish they were your relatives! The Lovelace Manor is not to be missed and you will want return again and again... April 2010 - The previous paragraph was my first review in 2005 and we have returned three times. There is no place better. Lark and Michael continue to outdo themselves with new activities for us to indulge in. Take them up on the dinners with the Amish families -- its so much fun and good food too.

We frequently visit B&B's after many years of business travel staying in chain hotels. I'm looking for comfort, ambience, quality and surroundings that I aspire to have in my own home at a reasonable price. Lovelace Manor has it all. But even more. At first I was a skeptic of so many high ratings when I reviewed this and other sites regarding Lovelace Manor. Having stayed here only two nights (they were full), I understand why so many guests rated it highly and are "repeat guests". Lark and Michael simply keep the Manor in wonderful condition and continually attend to the smallest of details to ensure your stay is perfect. The wraparound porch and garden are perfect for sipping wine from the nearby vineyards after a day of touring. There is so much to do in this area; it requires more than one trip. We stayed in the Rose Room with a king size bed and attached full antique bathroom, all decorated beautifully with old and new amenities. The suite had wonderful cross ventilation, sunshine and moonlight if you just wanted to open windows versus use fans, air conditioning, heating or fireplace (electric/gas, not sure). It had so many temperature choices! It included an attached reading/living room with second TV. and fireplace The hosts, Lark and Michael are like immediate family members. Kind, knowledgeable and very accommodating to diverse needs. Homemade breakfasts are bountiful and special. Croissant French toast, sausage, assortment of juices and fantastic pineapple, berry and cantaloupe fruit plate, teas and coffees. Homemade granola parfait, and Grandmas secret recipe cinnamon scones, Lovelace Manor's version of Eggs Benedict, bacon and roast potatoes. In addition, Lark is always baking something delicious to leave as a snack in the kitchen for the guests (coconut chip cookies, brownie fudge pie). We are planning a second stay in the near future and will bring our Mom. I know now to reserve well in advance. This place is a secret to "those in the know"!

Amazing B&B in historic Lancaster, PA. Great innkeepers. Even better than advertised. There are great B&B's in this world and this is one of the best.

My fiancee and I had decided to drive home after our flight from LaGuardia to Pittsburgh had cancelled, so we rented a car and started driving back home to Pittsburgh. We decided to stop and rest part way through PA and decided to get a room at a Bed and Breakfast. She searched the internet and I used my Yelp app on my I phone and found Lovelace. We called and they had a room open!! When we arrived, Michael met as at the door, helped us unload and helped us get settled in. He made us feel at home. The room was gorgeous and more romantic than our room 43 floors above Times Square in the Marriott Marquis. When we woke up for breakfast, Lark had breakfast near ready. She served us with delicious fruits and a breakfast quiche!! Check out was easy, they were so kind and helpful, she even gave us a map of her favorite amish stops!!! We will return for a trip to Gettysburg and Amish exploring trip soon!!!

The Lovelace Manor proved to be a wonder BnB for a weekend getaway. The 1800's house is beautifully decorated and restored to a level that creates a welcoming but elegant atmosphere for the guests. The hosts and the set up of the house helped make us have a very relaxing and fun weekend. The rooms all have private baths and are beautifully decorated. A carafe of port was waiting in our room upon our arrival. The breakfasts served were filling, delicious, and showed the extra effort the hosts put in to make the most of the BnB experience. One of our favorite parts of the Lovelace was the stocked butler's pantry that all guest could access 24hrs a day. The pantry contained drinks, snacks, coffee, tea, and freshly baked goodies! These little extras added the "home" feeling to our stay. We would stay here again!

We had a great time spending an Anniversary weekend at the Lovelace. The house is magnificent and Lark and Michael were gracious and hospitable from the moment we arrived and really made a wonderful stay for us. We stayed in the Lucasta room and really liked having such a large stately room. Looking forward to a return trip here!

We stayed 2 nights and service was great. Having said that, the only draw backs were, no in-room mini refrigerator to store drinks and the elevator system is automatic. Guess can't control the elevator once inside. This presented a problem during the evening rush, as well as check-in/check-out, when guess needed to get up/ down quickly. The elevator couldn't keep up with the demand. At one point, the hotel personnel was needed to get everyone on and off faster than the system. I love this hotel for its service and awesome location. Room 3638 is the room with a direct view of the ball drop, if you happen to visit during New Years holiday.

For a one night getaway, we stayed at the Lovelace Manor for the first time this past Saturday night. We stayed in the Lucasta Room. I am a spoiled patron of "five star hotels" and some of the world's best boutique hotels. I cannot think of enough superlatives to describe the Lucasta room and the owners of the Lovelace Manor, Lark and Michael. The bed, sheets and pillows: awesome. The room itself was large, very clean, quiet and simply beautiful. The room furnishings, fans, window shutters, bathroom, extra in-room sink, large well lit writing desk, chairs, quiet air conditioning unit, etc, etc. were terrific. I am a sometimes hard-to-please hotel guest. I loved this room. Everything about it. The house itself and grounds were beautiful. Walk around the property. They keep beautiful doves in the rear of the lush and tranquil backyard. The owners were very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. Breakfast was excellent the following morning. To make matters better (if that is possible), the owner's (Lark and Michael) local restaurant suggestion (Belvidere Inn) was outstanding. Our stay at the Lovelace Manor was excellent. I highly and enthusiastically recommend the Lucasta Room (if available) and this Bed and Breakfast. I'll be back.

Amazing experience!! Lark and Michael thank you so much for such great hospitality, we enjoyed everything about our stay! We slept on the most comfortable sheets and bed and it was spacious and air conditioned! I think we stayed in the Lucasta room and it was beautiful! The whole house was welcoming and detailed perfectly! The breakfast was really yummy too, started out with sorbet and Greek yogurt, then omelet and fruit, and to finish off the best fluffy blueberry scone I ever had! One of the best parts was actually sitting down and talking with Michael and lark, felt like we knew them for years! Def staying here again! Everybody needs to stay at this B&B:) thanks again!!

We stayed at the Lovelace Manor Bed and Breakfast yesterday and it was one of the best experiences either of us have had of the "bed in breakfast" type. We stayed in the "Rose Suite" and it was beyond magical. The bed was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. The room was beautiful and the vibe throughout the house was one of love. We even had a separate sitting room. Lark and Michael were extremely helpful and gave us great dinner recommendations in town (Try out the Belvedere Inn) and a detailed back country map through Amish country that guided our exploration. We enjoyed our time in Lancaster immensely and it was largely because of our decision to stay at the Lovelace Manor B and B. Breakfast rocked too. 5 stars. Dave and Amy

This was my inaugural bed and breakfast experience, and I'm afraid that it spoiled me beyond repair. It was a truly wonderful stay. Lark and Michael were so accommodating--we had never been to Lancaster area before, and their tips for where to visit were spot on. They made a special map for us to have a sort of "off the beaten path" tour, and it was just lovely. We stayed in the Althea room, which I believe is their smallest, but was SO charming. The bed--oh, the bed--it was the most comfortable bed I think I've ever slept on. I am going to lose sleep at home now thinking about how much I loved that bed! The breakfasts were equally flawless. I have to to avoid dairy and meat, and another guest is gluten-free--but they adjusted our meals easily, and VERY tastily (just give them a head's up when you book your stay, so that they can get some prep time). Honestly--we could not have asked for a better experience. It was perfect. If ever I have a reason to be in Lancaster again, I know exactly where I will go. In conclusion: do yourself a favor, and book yourself a stay at Lovelace Manor. You will leave with nothing but fond memories!

My family and I stayed in three of the four beautifully appointed rooms at the Lovelace Manor. It was located just a short distance from Lime Spring Farm, where a family wedding took Place. Lark and Michael were superb hosts. All of our needs had been anticipated. There was want for nothing. We found the Manor to be ideal for a group, especially as we needed to prepare for the wedding. We could not have had the fun or camaraderie we experienced at a hotel. Michael and Lark were outstanding cooks, with Saturday and Sunday's breakfast being very delicious and different from each other (the sweet croissant french toast was a hit for the drive home). The experience was outstanding and I would stay here again whenever business or leisure bring my family and me back to the Lancaster area.
