Spend all your time on the phone instead of waiting on me, get 1 star! ---------- FOOD: Didnt get any, but its called house of pizza, so Ill take a guess and say pizza. DECOR: Its not as small as the other reviews lead you to believe. There a quite a few tables, and its a little more warm feeling than your typical pizza shop. SERVICE: NONE! There were 2 people at the counter. Both were on the phone. When one hung up, he just griped about the person on the other end (classy), picked up the phone and called someone else! The girl in front of me never got off the phone... so I left. ---------- FINAL THOUGHTS: They need to take a lesson from other pizza shops. Theres always someone standing around who NEVER answers the phone and always is there to wait on people or help out where its needed..

I haven't bought anything from House of Pizza in few years. I do remember it was their fried breaded chicken wings. They were good and ordered them a couple times. Wings, breading and fried? Yummm! Since then I have not gotten anything from there until my daughter treated me to take-out from the House of Pizza. She got me a cheesesteak with no onions, sauce or extras. I thought I would not be impressed with a run-of-the-mill cheesesteak. I was wrong. The steak and cheese mixture was very good. Not too much steak. Not too much cheese. Just sooo right. The roll was also very good. I think that made the sub (Amoroso's?). I think I can picture going back to the House of Pizza for the cheesesteak. That is if they keep those rolls. Or I can go back for the fried breaded chicken wings again.

Tiny place, but great pizza and clean friendly place to eat. Always stop in on trips out here.

This place has the benefit of being open very late (till 2, I believe). The pizza is crap, but when you're drunk and hungry at 2am, do you really care? In college, my boyfriend's phone number was one digit off from House of Pizzas. We started off telling people they had the wrong number and giving them the right one. Then, one night I answered the phone at 1am for the 10th or so time and just started taking orders. "2 large pizzas with everything and extra anchovies? 25 minutes, have a good night!" Those kids are probably still waiting for their pizzas, lol.

great simple pizza. Ok i know the service can get crazy especially at lunch rush thats why i only give it 3 stars, but if your ever so patient like me you will be pleasantly surprised. It's on the corner of chestnut so parking is limited but the place is actually bigger than you think on the inside. I prefer the former smoking section. I has more ambiance. plus its open till 2 am. good late night food if you can time it right.

We arrived at Lancaster after 1 am from New York with my Girlfriend and most places were already closed, those that were open were not serving any food only drinks. We walked by this place and noticed people still inside. We were starving, it was hard to explain how hungry we were. Even tho this place still had people inside, their kitchen was closed and done for the day. We explained the situation and owner held his stuff to make us new pie of pizza, which btw was very delicious, i haven't tried pizza that good in a while. He offered us a table in the quite side of the restaurant, turned on TV for us and some music while they were cleaning kitchen and other areas. That was an amazing experience and im happy to see people like them still exist. After we were done, he walked us out and told us what to do in the area and which places to visit for the weekend. AMAZING PLACE

Seeing some positive reviews, hard to believe we went to the same place. Service was poor, wait was long, the pizza was dripping with grease, and although the calzone looked fine some was horribly wrong with the cheese. The sports bar half of the restaurant seemed alright, maybe that's good half can't truly say. I'm normally forgiving of a long wait if the food is good, it wasn't. Recommend keep driving, got to be better pizza out there

I am four miles away and I was quoted that the delivery would need to be atleast 40 dollars or more that is someone who just does not want to go outside and do their part of the commerce that they have promised the community it would uphold the end of their deal.

I think the food here is great. Plus, the out of towners mentioned it when they came back to town. So it's good food! People are nice at the counter. The only issue is that the place is laid out weird, and can come off as "not so clean" but that doesn't keep me away. It's a regular!

House of Pizza is a decent downtown Lancaster Pizza shop most of the time, however on the weekends gets overrun with loud, obnoxious, drunken pizza-goers who clearly are there to hook-up/sober-up before bed. The pizza is decent, nothing to write home about and moderately priced. The service is truly hit or miss depending on how many drunks are filling up the place at the moment. The reason to go to House of Pizza is simply location, location, location. It is conveniently placed around the corner from all the clubs and bars downtown, allowing for a easy place to grab an after party snack.

Citizens of Lancaster - You can order pizza and subs from anywhere - Just don't order them from here. If they mess up you get an attitude on the phone, if you're not satisfied (despite what their website says) they DO NOT CARE. I order a buffalo chicken sub - same sandwich I order every time I go there. This time it was different and I was confused. When I called and told them they gave me a serious attitude, they told me, "No that's what you ordered" - well listen up geniuses, if that's what I order why am I not happy? They gave me a hard time about "Do you want us to come pick it up and then bring you the right sandwich?". Our office is 2 minutes away. We do a lot of business with them and from now on, we'll just go else where. I hope it was worth it House of Pizza staff.

Just ordered delivery. Very nice on the phone, food arrived quickly. The sweet, older, Italian delivery driver dropped something from my order as he was getting it out of the car and was beside himself. He ran back to the restaurant and brought me back what he had dropped. He was really apologetic and I appreciated his concern. Food was very good!

Not bad. Came in around 1:30am and there was a crowd. Still offered the full menu, which was awesome. I got us a meat lovers pizza. Thing was loaded with meats and cheese. Taste was pretty good, not great, but around 2 in the morning, that's all you want. Prices were a little high, but when you're serving drunk people, you can get away with that. The wait was a little long for the pizza and there were a ton of people that seemed to just be hanging out at the counter so it was a little crowded getting the food. Decent experience. Would go back for late night food considering nothing else in town was open, not even the McDonalds.

Average pizza. More expensive than it could be. I like the location since it's near the main downtown area.

I think they have the best cheesesteaks! I am not a fan of onions but it works so well with the steak, cheese and sauce. Oh, and the roll is the clincher! I am a fan still

I grew up coming to this place. I have seen 3 remodelings of this place. My family used to live 5 blocks or so from this place and we would always go there on a Friday or Saturday night after my parents worked. The best thing the place offers is the veal parmesean. You can get it with noodles, or in a submarine sandwich. My favorite has always been in sub form. The next best thing is the hamburger subs they offer. The salads are pretty good, the house offering rolled up ham / turkey and cheese and the tuna is excellent. They offer a large selection of beer and liquor for there or to go. I would recommend anyone to go there, plenty of local Lancastrians have been going here for years.

Well, before I ordered from here, I read some of the negative reviews on Yelp just by chance. They turned out to be 100% accurate. My experience was terrible from the second they picked up the phone. While giving them my information for a delivery, the person on the line proceeded to tell me that I was pretty close to the establishment. When I told him I realized that , he told me again. It took me telling this person that I didn't give a shit for them to actually take my order. It turned out to be a 45 minute wait. An hour and 15 mins later, I finally get a phone call from the delivery driver confirming my address. After some confusion, I realized that I was talking to a worker from the Lancaster location and not the Millersville franchise. (A mistake on my part. I'm not from the area) However, instead of pointing me to their sister shop, they simply told me I ordered from the wrong House of Pizza and hung up, not even informing me whether or not my food would actually be delivered. 45 minutes later, it was obvious they weren't coming, so Papa John's received my business. I'm not usually one to complain about people. I've worked retail for almost 10 years. I've dealt with every kind of customer/co-worker imaginable. But purposely acting like a douchebag... I can't stand it.

A group of friends and I stopped in here after being in a bad car accident, and getting ourselves stuck in Lancaster. I must have been slightly shaken up, it was a snowy evening, my wrist was broken, and we had just been rear-ended. I ordered a slice and a soda. After I paid, the dude asked me "soda while you wait?" Why would you ask someone that? Yes? Give me the soda I just ordered and paid for? Confused I said "Excuse me? I didn't hear you properly" and he repleted himself with a snarky attitude. Delayed and confused, I replied "Uh, yes please." He turned his back to me, and never gave me my soda. I've worked in a lot of different customer service jobs, and a lot of food service jobs. You never know what kind of night someone is having, so you should never treat them as though their requests are too much to ask. And seriously, "soda while you wait?" is the stupidest question you could possibly ask anyone.

OMG! I can't even believe the service! George yelled at my husband over the phone for OUR pizza being late. We were told that George was the assistant manager but then George claimed to be the Manager. When we asked to leave a message for the owner, George suddenly claimed to be the owner. My husband simply asked if there was a discount for our pizza being late and George told him there was no discount and they were very busy and he was going to cancel the pizza because we called to ask about it. When my husband said he wasn't trying to be rude but just find out what was going on with the service, George hung up on him. We called the 2nd house of pizza to find out who the owner was and they wouldn't tell us, then argued with us for 10 minutes about why we needed the information. We asked that the CC slip that verified the order cancellation be delivered to us and it never was so we have to dispute it on our credit statement now too. We had to call the city to find out the information we needed. We filed complaints with the city and the BBB. We never got our pizza, but really, we wouldn't eat it at that point anyhow!

Ok at best. Ordered 6 pizzas for a large group, some of which were over done. Salad was fine, can't complain about it. The delivery for a large order though was quite timely so that was great. Average experience overall, ordered there due to proximity, but would try another place next time.

I dig this place. We order from here for lunch often, and the food gets here quick. The pizza & other stuff is pretty standard pizza shop grub. The dining room is ok, but it's a pizza shop, tends to be a little smokey. They are consistent.
