Pros: Alcohol. Cons: Smoking is not only allowed in here but practically encouraged, so you're going to leave smelling like you just got fisted by the Marlboro Man.

Great dive bar! The drinks are cheap, it's dark and smoke filled. But is has great atmosphere. If your looking for something a little less polished it's great

"It's not high class, it's my class." How can you not like a place that serves awesome, meaty wings in a blue-collar, unpretentious atmosphere? The wings are great, the TVs have sports on, the beer is cold, and service is exceptional. Yes, it's cash only, but the prices are reasonable. I know the Drake is hot J-Town spot, but I'll always prefer Buckets to The Drake.

Love their wings and good atmosphere. they allow smoking so beware! Great beer selection as well, they carry bottles-featuring seasonal brews.

Cheap drinks, solid beer selection, best wings in the area, and you can smoke. Pretty much my heaven. Only con: cash only. And the ATM will charge you an arm and a leg. So grab some cash before ya get there!

This is one of my favorite local dive bars. It has indoor smoking, which I think most people see as a bad thing, I feel like it's part of the atmosphere, even as a non-smoker. It's hit or miss as far as the crowd, sometimes busy, sometimes not. If you're looking for a good night, with a decent crowd, then Monday is the night to go, because it's wing night.

The loss of a star is for indoor smoking. Yuck! Smoking aside, I have been going to buckets for years. It's a great place to meet friends, and the wings are very very good. Sometimes we just get wings and fries to go! The bartenders are always nice and it's a go to dive for me and my friends

This is a great dive bar. My husband and I went for wings after reading reviews here, and they didn't disappoint! They were big and meaty, plus they were on the $3 menu on Tuesday. We each got wings and we split a pitcher of beer, and the total came in well under $20. I'd like to try some of their other food- standard bar fare, all reasonably priced. The only downside is that they still allow smoking inside. It wasn't particularly smoky when we were there, but, as a non-smoker, this is a downside for me.

This is your friendly neighborhood dive bar. I used to frequent this place more often than I can really count. The best part about Buckets? It's open all the time. My friend and I have a habit of grabbing a beer there each and every major holiday. They'll be open, and there will be at least one regular at the bar. As the last reviewer stated - awesome wings. Last I remember, wing night was on Monday. Tuesdays? I believe that was $2 food day but I could be wrong. What's even better than the wings? The buffalo chicken cheesesteaks. They must be had with American cheese, extra buffalo sauce on the side and a side of blue cheese. The cons: they do not accept credit cards. There's a Wachovia Bank across the street & an ATM inside. Also, there's that notorious "Buckets Smell" that my friends and I have come to know very well. They allow smoking and also, when the grill is on - you'll surely smell of smoke and fried food.

What you see is what you get: a good ol' fashioned dive. Beer is cheap, food is greasy and filling, and smoking is common. There is no website, but I've called in to check on the hours in the past. For four people, we were able to get 40 great wings and two pitchers of Yuengling for under $25. That's a steal compared to the Drake Tavern around the corner! Keep an eye out for the specials: they are scattered around the bar on wall-signs. They're usually significantly cheaper than a regular order.

This place really wows me on the beer prices. It is a neighborhood hole in the wall place, and they only accept cash. Beers are under 2 dollars, liqours are 4 dollars I think, and they even have happy hours during the week days. The place is not fancy at all, with a semi open kitchen, a dart board, a game machine, and a juke box. Tvs are around the bar, and it is a SMOKING bar!! Smokers heaven for sure. If you looking for super cheap drinks, and friendly neighborhood place to hang out, this would be it!

Was looking for a place to watch the Phils/Reds game, and since the Drake was overflowing I decided it was time to give Buckets a try. Chill atmosphere, lots of TVs, good mix of folks, and cheap artery-clogging grub. And yet, the defining feature of the place -- the one thing that came to represent our entire visit -- was that it is a smoking bar. I figured that meant that some people might smoke, but no, that means that ALL the people WILL DEFINITELY smoke. A lot. Too much for me. This joint was a chimney. I thought about giving it two stars, but that seems unfair, because it is what it is. Just because it ain't my cup of tea doesn't mean I should give it a poor rating. For other people, this place will certainly be a gem. If you want to smoke in a bar, this place should probably get 4 or 5 stars, because everything else about the place is pretty cool, and there probably aren't many other places out there that still let you light up.

I'm a city guy and get intimidated by people from the country side. It's a little weird I guess. Let's say you were from the country side and ended up buying beer from the corner store in the hood. Like hey, you'd probably get what you wanted but it may be a bit uncomfortable. Bartenders are cool people, drinks and food are cheap. Not too much variety in food but definitely still good for a small place. Jenkintown is just a cool town in itself. Places need to chill their beers as well as Buckets. It's been a while since a draft I've had was just refreshing.

I go here constantly. I know all the bartenders. Their beer selection is AWESOME. And the Monday night wing special is great (where can you find THE BEST wings for .25 a peice.) I can be found here at least once a month, but i used to go once or twice a week.

I'm surprised there aren't more reviews for this place. They have the BEST WINGS I've ever had and they are only $.25 each on mondays. I get my wings hot everywhere, but at buckets I need to get them mild or they are TOO HOT. For a divebar, it's perfect. Pool table, good jukebox, lots of bar and table seating and a friendly staff.

This is a great place to go and watch Philly games at. The food is great for the price; the muck and muck burger is my favorite. The customers and the staff are real friendly and knowledgeable about sports. I've been to buckets many times and never had a problem. The beer selection is really good; they have a lot of microbrews. I had midus touch from dogfish head there that was real good and they have a bunch of victory's beers there too.

A decent, friendly neighborhood bar. They allow smoking because they don't do a ton of food business. The food I've had there is typical bar food and is perfectly fine. Sometimes it is hard to get the bartender's attention and my companion noted that we were never given fresh glasses the whole time we were there. Much less crowded that the Drake Tavern, a block away.

In one word...Neighborhood bar! The food is good and the beer and liquor prices are probably the best in a 10-mile radius. If you want cheap booze in a place I would call slightly-nicer-than-a-dive bar (that's actually a compliment). In fact, the jukebox music is all over the place just like the clientele. So, if you want a relax, non-confrontational neighborhood/dive bar, Buckets is your place. Warning: for non-smokers or former smokers, the place can be a bit smokey.

Great place for an inexpensive, tasty meal; this is a great wing place and the cheesesteaks are delicious, too. The selection of beers on tap will please most palates, and as far as I'm concerned, the placement of the many TVs makes it a great place to watch your favorite Teams. You won't be craning your neck to catch a play, and you'll be able to fool your wife/girlfriend into believing that you're really paying attention to her. The owners would probably do well, though, to ban the smoking, because the place could use a couple of SMOKEATERS over the Bar area. It's a mixed crowd tending to younger, 21-35, with the odd more mature person present, as well. It's hard to believe that the kids haven't gotten the message that smoking kills themselves and others. Improvement suggestion? Ban the smoking... then you'd have an even more comfortable place to enjoy the already pleasant aspects of a very good neighborhood tappy.

Buckets is the best neighborhood bar I've found in the Jenkintown area. The food's excellent, the staff and patrons are friendly, and the game day drink specials are pretty great. My only complaints are that they only take cash and that your hair will definitely reek of cigarette smoke for days after you leave the bar. But the bartenders are good about cranking up the ceiling fans and making it breathable for non-smokers like myself. The wings and cheesesteak are worth smelling like a chimney, trust me.

Great bar! Their hot wings are among the best in the area! I would go there just for the wings. The only problem is that you can still smoke in there but that is a good point for some people. Beer selection is decent and their service is really good. I tend to rate bars like this based on comfort level. Bucket feels like home!

This place is great for what it is. Its not high end, its not expensive, and its not a wine bar. The place has been here forever and offers cheap drinks, bar food and a pretty friendly atmosphere. Edit:: $2 lager and $2 cheese steaks on Tuesday!

Decent place to drink some beer...the beers are inexpensive
