I went there today for brunch and was not disappointed. They have a "buffet" style breakfast and I was weary at first, but after taking a look my bf and I decided to stay. It was definitely worth it! All the food was made and restocked fresh, nothing tasted like it was left out or made hours before. They even had fresh chilled shrimp and the sausage was so delicious. Definitely would go back and try out a menu item in the future!

Celebrated Mother's Day with my family. Greeted with several warm hellos as soon as we entered!! They were only serving the breakfast buffet today but there are no complaints.. Everything was hot and delicious. Eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, french toast, chicken, mussels, etc...Looking forward to returning to try the regular menu!!

I was recommended this place because their BLTs are supposed to be amazing. However, when I came there I had a breakfast sampler. This one is a rare find for me. I love everything breakfast and sometimes I have a hard time picking, so the sampler is perfect for me. The sampler seems to be hard for me to find when I brunch. The sampler came with Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Home Fries and Pancakes. The pancakes were massive. I would have been able to finish it with just small silver dollar type pancakes, but I just couldn't finish it because of the size. This place was really cute and everyone was friendly, so I will be coming back if I'm in the area.

Small, quaint breakfast place with great breakfast options. The menu is limited, but the options are solid. Florentine Eggs Benedict was one of the best I've had (perfectly poached eggs), and the accompanying potatoes were freshly sliced and well-flavored. My wife had the country sampler (not on the menu) which included a variety of breakfast items- eggs, toast, bacon, sausage, pork roll, and the breakfast potatoes.Large portion at a decent price! The service was very attentive as well. Server came by periodically checking in on us, freshening my coffee to ensure my cup was always filled. They didn't have skim milk for my coffee, but no biggie. Whole milk is still healthier than creamer, so she did have that to offer. All in all, I would definitely return here for breakfast. Street parking is cheap (25 cents per hour!) and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. I can't wait to go back!

As usual went here because of yelp rating. Glad i came here. Excellent, very tasty and reasonable. Small menu but a wide variety. Definitely still be back!

My favorite place to visit for breakfast, wish it was closer to Warminster but it is worth the drive. They are always busy, so expect to wait to be seated. I wish they had bigger drink cups as sometimes you may go dry and have to wait for the refill. Have not visited their dinner menu, so I have nothing to add about that serving.

I seen this cafe when searching for a good breakfast spot. And after reading all the great Yelp reviews!! Yelp users didn't disappoint again. They were spot on!! I'm not from this area, but trying to find (our family Cafe) was kind tuff because of all the little stores in the area. But finally did find it and glad I did. Couldn't Park on the street it was on, because of road work. So found a side street to park on. All the stores in around of Jenkintown are so nice!! Getting on to the breakfast!! When I walked in, I was welcomed by the waitress, that was so nice, Gave be a great size menu with so much to choose from, there omelettes to all their specials. Ask me what I like to Drink. Said (coffee) came out with a good size mug, coffee was delicious, some of the best. I Got the cream chipped beef and home fries!! And Wow was it good. Cream chipped beef was done just right. And the home fries. so good, had a nice Crisp to them. Just how I like them, Definitely the best home fries I've ever had anywhere. The inside of this cafe is as clean and Roomy as you can get!! Can't wait to go back again for another great breakfast!! Got to give there French toast a try, mabe even give there lunch menu a try to!! If anyone wants to go and get a good place. Then I recommend going hear!! You will come out stuffed!! And want to come back again!!!

Great place' food was good. Great service. Only bad thing thing outdoor seating is limited.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. The wait staff is incredible! They are so warm and friendly you feel like you're sitting in someone's kitchen. And the food! The portions are huge! I think they may have accidentally brought me the serving bowl of pasta instead of my order. Only downside is the noise level. Give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.

I give this place five stars simply for the service. When I came here, I guess they lost my ticket and I ended up waiting for about 45 mins for my food. The server, as soon as she remembered promptly apologized and comped our meal. I realize that it happens but the fact that the staff went above and beyond to apologize made me feel like they're a genuine staff. I would definitely come back for the great service alone. The food was amazing when it came out. It's a great local diner!

Had random breakfast here. Staff were very friendly. I really enjoyed the french toast...given I had horrible french Toast the day before at a place in nyc. The blueberry pancake was okay...thats what I ordered but my friend had the french toast. oh, potion size= HUGE! I wish they had more tea options AND make hot chocolate thats more than opening swiss miss packets. Many places do that and I refuse to pay for a packet of swiss miss. Its a family friendly establishment. Weather was lovely when I went and there is outdoor seating option. Next time I will try the omelets.

Sadly, OFC has closed. Five stars for four great years. Sign in the window says to look for a new restaurant soon. One can only hope it holds a candle to the amazing breakfasts at OFC!

I had a chance to eat at Our Family Cafe on a Sunday afternoon in March. We put out name in and were seated in 5-10mins. The first room is open and had about 10 or so tables and a counter right near the kitchen. They had several specials and some of them came with a free mimosa. I went with the small sampler that came with two large pancakes, two eggs & home fries. The eggs were cooked sunny side up and the home fries were sliced thin. The pancakes while very big were bland and hard to cut. Positives: Prompt friendly service Cheap! Our meals were $5.50 each Good specials Huge portions Negatives: The food was very bland Maple syrup had no flavor. Its either watered down or just no good Since the prices were so fair I would give this place another try. The crab omelette special was huge and came with a ton of crab meat. I will have to try it next time and update my review if needed.

We have been to this restaurant five or six times and always had a good experience both with the food and with the waitresses Who are usually the daughters of the owners .The servings are of large portions and the price is very reasonable. I highly recommend it.

Our Family Cafe is a nice neighborhood spot to o with small groups (less than 4 people). The space is pretty tight, so if you have a large family, don't plan on coming here. It has a real "homey" feel to it. I give it three stars because the menu is not too extensive. However, the food they sell is tasty. I've never tried the pancakes because they don't look to enticing. Their omelets are delicious.

When I moved to the area, I was hoping that a place like this would be in my neighborhood, and I truly lucked out! If you do not enjoy large portions, friendly people, and very reasonable prices, I suggest you look elsewhere. I love getting breakfast items here but I also have to give their sandwiches some major props. (I think that is the first time I've attempted to give anyone or anything "props". Not sure I can pull it off, but work with me.) And the soups are delicious! Can't forget that. The best part is just the wonderful atmosphere. You really feel like you are in someone's home. So great!

I stopped here for lunch one day after hearing about this place from my mom. For lunch, I had the cranberry walnut salad which was fresh and good but the portions here are sinfully big. Great for people who want a bang for their buck, but wasteful for people who like me, have to watch their diets or people who just can't eat that much food. I thought the menu lacked creativity and I actually had a hard time deciding what I wanted because nothing popped out as "out of the ordinary" to me. Aside from the salad, I tried a few of the sweet potato fries which were delish but could have used a cinnamon-sugar butter sauce on the side #FATGIRLPROBLEMS #IHATEHASHTAGSTOO#LOL Okay, I'm done. The service here was good and I definitely look forward to trying OFC again. :)

I was raised in Jenkintown area but rarely get up there anymore and for 40 years I was used to more bad food than good . I had takeout lunch from this cafe on Friday it was the best lunch I have had there in 10 years. Friendly efficient service...but the key was the quality of ingredients with the food and the preparation...and the nice little touches like homemade dressings. next time I am up there I will gladly order lunch from this establishment again .

Best Bunch in the area. I really do not want to write this review. I love being able stroll in on Saturday or Sunday late morning and get a table and enjoy an amazing brunch. I am constantly shocked there isn't a line out the door. The staff is friendly and great. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu.

We finally had a chance to catch breakfast here and yes the portions are huge and inexpensive but I was underwhelmed by the execution. My scrambled eggs were overdone/dry, the breakfast potatoes had that brown crispy look but were actually limp and both the potatoes and turkey bacon had a weird funky spice on them I didn't like at all. Hubby had a sausage omelet and said the sausage was not good - greasy and cheap tasting. The pancakes were the size of frisbees and soggy and thick. Sorry but I prefer creamy eggs, light fluffy pancakes and the pure taste of crispy fried potatoes with maybe just a little salt and pepper. I did really like my thick rye toast. The server was extremely friendly, bellowing out "hellos" all around and hustling out the coffee yet she never came back after our food was delivered when we really needed to see her. So if you don't have much money and like your breakfast "spiced" and are really hungry this might be a good option for you.

Best breakfast in jtown! Family owned and staff is so nice. This place gets super crowded but it's worth the wait. Great on any Saturday or Sunday. Hungover?! The two egg breakfast cures that! Be sure to ask about the specials. You can't go wrong.

  • E P.

Go here at least 3-4 times a month. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are never a disappointment. Large portions and well prepared food. Family owned and run business and I can't figure out who is the nicest...Ambience is great for breakfast and lunch, but it could use a facelift for dinner. If you're hungry try the sampler. Healthy but hungry, try the healthy sampler...won't be disappointed!!

We stopped here for dinner with the kids. The service and atmosphere was marvelous. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, especially with the kids. The food was quite good, and the 'Bradley Cooper' for desert was excellent. We will be back.

Drove by this place a few times....decided to go out for breakfast this morning. Should have stayed home. The menu was small, which is usually a good sign. Not the case. Husband had the Sampler - The pancakes were tough and spongy, the bacon average and the sausage full of grease. He also had coffee which he said was very weak. I had the Eggs Benedict. The English muffin was soaked in butter and therefore practically unedible. The Hollandaise sauce very average. It needed paprika and lemon. I did ask for extra Hollandaise just in case because most places skimp on it and they charged me and extra $1.75 for it. Didn't tell me there was an upcharge when I asked for it. When we were leaving, which wasn't soon enough, Husband noticed a big bug on the floor. Not going back, ever and still hoping for a decent breakfast place around here. This one is not it.

I have only ever been here for breakfast, and it was pretty typical breakfast fare. Nothing mind blowing - just your basic eggs, pancakes, etc. Portions are generous for the money and the food is tasty. Service is not that friendly however. I have been here several times and the server makes me feel almost unwelcome as if I am bothering her with my order. On my last visit there, I made the mistake of bringing in a cup of coffee (I grabbed the coffee first at a place around the corner, then thought it would be nice to stop in here for breakfast) and the server made a point of telling me loudly that outside beverages are not permitted. Now, I understand why that might be their policy but since I am a repeat customer I would have appreciated a nicer tone and manner in informing me of this rule. It just seemed pretty petty since I was buying breakfast for three people. How much did they lose in revenue because of my coffee - $2? Anyway, that soured my experience and since it was consistent with prior visits I probably won't be back.

I'm glad that we found this little family breakfast spot. They serve Breakfast late but run out of hollandaise sauce early! The portions were huge and the prices were good. My friend and I split a super cheesy grilled cheese sandwich and a spinach artichoke and cheese make your own omelette. Both were really good. My favorite part of the meals were the thickly sliced bread that they used in both dishes. If I am back in that area, I would definitely return.

  • Brett G.

I had a medium steak with mashed potatoes and a vegetable (I forget what it was). Nothing outstanding about the food. Steak is not seasoned. For the price I expected a little more. Wait staff seemed busy and frustrated, but I don't blame them for that. Three stars means I'd go back, but no plans in the near future. Not a top pick.

Came here at 12:50 on a Sunday, just as one server was asking us how many there were in our party another told us they were closed. The place was half full and someone had just walked in ahead of us. Rude.

This is a cute little spot that has grown since we've been going here! Glad to see they've expanded next door. We go here on weekend mornings usually around 10 am and the group sizes have ranged from 2-8 with mixes if either hungover adults to sometimes small toddlers. We've always been taken care of! We've ordered a decent portion of the menu- eggs through samplers. My favorite being the omelette specials, which never fails to be anything less than delightful and huge proportions. Hubby usually gets the country sampler, he has yet to finish that foolish amount of food. The French toast is perfectly golden if you choose that. Coffee is plentiful and the staff is nice. Refills are prompt as was the children's coloring book. Ive never had enough room to sample the desserts. Good location, nice people, and consistently good breakfast food will certainly keep us coming back.

ate there for breakfast this morning. They got our orders wrong, but instead of admitting to the mistake the server went scarce. tried to flag her multiple time to no avail. the server never checked on us if we needed anything else. finally got the check and they didnt even explain or appologize for the mistake. i barely ate my food, (coz it was the wrong order, not what i wanted) yet they charged us in full. the food was pricey considering it was just mundaine. PS I suggest getting cofffee elsewhere coz thiers was disgusting.

This is my favorite place to go for breakfast, I've been to a lot of places in the area and this is the only place I ever want to go again. The omelets are delicious, the service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is lovely.

  • Eileen B.

A definite favorite of ours for breakfast. The portions are large and everything is delicious! One of my favorites is the omelet with crabmeat, spinach and cheese. So yummy and way too much to finish. If you enjoy scrapple, they do a great job with that too - according to my husband - it's crispy and delicious. My only complaint is that the coffee is not good - much too weak for my taste. Service is good- very friendly and helpful.

Sometimes you don't talk about places like this because you want it to remain your secret, but that's not fair to this fantastic eatery. Absolutely delicious and among the better breakfasts I've had anywhere. If you are commenting on the simple atmosphere, you are an idiot. If you think deep frying is "lazy", you are an idiot. This isn't a matter of taste, it's a matter of idiocy. If you think this isn't special, it's because you have no taste and would be better off silent. Let's take price out of the equation; they have interesting and creative menu items and some specials that justify use of the word special. Ingredients are fresh, cheeses are flavorful. The potatoes were perfectly crisp and the toast exactly what I hope for. Portions are large, but it's quality that truly defines this special restaurant. I had an omelett that redefined my expectations for simple cafe breakfasts...wow was this amazing. The service was friendly, as you'd expect of a family run place with a stake in customer satisfaction. I do think they may have to hire more people as this location continues to expand their base; they currently have only one cook (the owner). Granted that means he controls all quality, and man does it work! It's a simple place - if you (like most people) don't know food and only judge a place on service and splendor, take your tired routine elsewhere, this is simple, tasteful and very Jenkintown. Yes - West Ave Grill is "cooler" looking, and if you don't realize the quality difference by all means eat at their trough. Price and value are also amazing. Not only is this place high quality, it's less expensive than your average diner. I don't recommend it because it's inexpensive, but it's nice eating something so good at reasonable prices.

My wife and I love going to new places and having a pleasant dining experience well I think we found it with this restaurant. We walked in and it feels like a family home and probably once was (they will be remodeling soon) but with that said we had a wonderful breakfast experience. We had the breakfast sampler and it was a LOT of food, we substituted the pancakes for the french toast and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. We are now talking about giving their lunch and/or breakfast a try. If you have a family or if you are a pair looking for a great spot I think you'd be well served to check this place out. It ws wonderful and has earned a place in our eating spot rotation. I want to give special recognition to the staff/owner for making us feel welcome and serving us a magnificent breakfast.

Almost across the St. from The West Ave Grille and the better choice. The service is very friendly, and yes you'll be waited on by real family members. We have been here a couple of times both for breakfast/lunch meal. Everyone was satisfied, whether they had the breakfast or lunch the portions were big and the food was tasty and satisfying. I'll agree that decor wise they could use a little updating and beware of sitting close to the door either in the front room or the back room, it can be cold and drafty. We are fans and will return.

  • Christopher M.

This is a family place- run by an upbeat group of relatives who know how to offer up a great dish with a side order of atmosphere. This is "boisterous bounty" though- generous portions with lots of activity & goin's on. The sandwiches are first rate- well prepared with good quality meats and breads. Tatiest Roast Beef Au Jus I've had in ages. We'd come out from the city for the Meadowbrook Farm Sale- and decided to walk around the Jenkintown old downtown, glad to have seen that it's finally coming back to life. We're sure glad we stopped. Next time - Dinner.

Had breakfast here with the family recently. It's nothing special, but does feature very friendly service. The portions are absurdly large. An $8 breakfast "sampler" covers TWO large plates with eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and pancakes. The pancakes are the size of hubcaps. Just a ton of food for the price. Sadly, food-wise, it's pretty forgettable. Seemed like the bacon and the sausages were deep-fried, which I think is just lazy, and the hash browns were a forlorn, soggy hillock of bland, crunch-less spuds. You could do worse, but you could do better, as well. So far, I haven't found a great breakfast spot in Jenkintown, but I'd say West Ave Grill is a notch above this place.

Perfect family-run breakfast and lunch spot right in the middle of Jenkintown. The homemade turkey chili is great and you'll be happy and full for $10. Every town should have one of these.

Went for breakfast today after reading such great reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately, the place didn't really live up to my expectations. Service was quite friendly as others have noted, and the decor inside is simple and welcoming. I had the "Fiesta" omelet, which wasn't really an omelet. Sure, it looked like one, but it was strangely light and tasted more like poached eggs than an actual omelet. There were lots of fresh veggies on/in it which was great, but it also needed some added salt and pepper to get anything out of the eggs. I absolutely loved the seasoning on the home fries -- my two complaints would be that they were too oily and didn't have any crunch. That said, they'd still be the highlight of the meal to me. Also tried a few bites of their pancakes, which are huge. Again, nothing really special about the taste though. Overall, I had an okay breakfast, but I've certainly had better. Would go back to try lunch or dinner because I liked the atmosphere, but was less than impressed by the breakfast.

I went here for lunch a few weeks ago and wanted to love it and tried to remain positive but it didn't work. The main problem was the burger meat. It was very low quality, preform, freezer style. It had bits of cartilage that my daughter was spitting out and asking what they were. I am not sure if they ran out of the good meat or what.. My husband is a burger lover and agreed with me. The mushrooms that topped the burger were canned and I just felt like they dropped the ball. My turkey sandwich was pretty good I will say and the fries were good. Our server was lovely and very nice to the kids. I will try them again for breakfast as I enjoy it there very much, and would go back for lunch, just not for the burger.

I love a great local place and this one is awesome. Run by a family (hence the name), our waitress's father was in the kitchen and her sister was helping serve. There was a steady stream of people in and out of the door. And we found out they serve dinner on (I believe) Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights which we're going to try to come back for. I had the short stack of pancakes. Two pancakes that were as big as my plate and light and fluffy. I also got a side of bacon that was served nice and crisp. And I think the syrup was a higher quality, not Log Cabin, and cleverly served in a squeeze ketchup bottle to avoid spills. Smart! I may implement this system at our own home. :) T had some sort of southwestern egg dish served with peppers and an absolutely delicious homemade, gooey queso sauce. And the potatoes were so salty and crunchy. Great hangover food. We'll definitely be back!

Ate here for the first time today after reading all the great reviews on yelp. The food was delicious and reasonably priced and the service was friendly and attentive. The only negative was that it was really cold in there- definitely would have been more pleasant if there had been more heat in the dining area- I cringing every time someone opened the front door because it let in a giant blast of cold air.

Absolutely lived up to the reviews! The food, service, atmosphere, and prices were all something worth coming back for. The servers made my boyfriend and I feel right at home, were polite and very knowledgeable about the food. The food came out quickly and was delicious!

I went here again several times, food is still consistently good, however the coffee is extremely weak and served what seems to be a 16oz mug. I asked again about the weak coffee and the waitress stated they cater specifically towards senior citizens who prefer the weak, breakfast blend coffee. They will not deviate from this weak, breakfast blend coffee. I asked if they could carry another blend of coffee and they could not. Not very flexible in my opinion with the coffee situation, but the other things are fairly good, considering the price.

Our Family Cafe is fantastic. My wife & I find ourselves comparing all other restaurants to what we now take for granted as regulars at Our Family Cafe. Though the decor is ordinary - the meal prepartation is extraordinary. If you measure your dining experience by the quality of the meal itself you are likely to find most other restaurants lacking after you try this one. Breakfasts and dinners are incredible Their soups are also way above the rest. My wife has noticed that I am much more adventurous with regards to trying different specials the restaurant will offer. That is true as as I have not had a single meal at Our Family Cafe that hasn't been incredible. While we still dine out at other restaurants - this is the only one we go back to almost weekly.

Went for brunch today and it was great. Very homey with good service. The brunch menu was large with specials. We had enormous and delicious chocolate chip pancakes, bacon egg and cheese on a brioche and the sampler (which was comprised of eggs, sausage, bacon, homefries, pancakes etc.) The coffee was also really good. This is a friendly, family run operation that is a perfect fit to Jenkintown. Parking is a little difficult but worth the search.

Super nice staff with an excellent cozy atmosphere. I recently moved to the area and was unsure that I would be able to find a place that could match the quality of some of the breakfasts found In state college. On a whim I took a walk around the neighborhood and walked in. I was quickly greeted with a smile and a menu. The selection was outstanding, with about seven or eight specials for the day. I got the sampler platters with pancakes, eggs, bacon, homefries, an sausage. None of it disappointed! And on top of it all the check came out to about eight bucks including coffee. Super polite people ans great food. Check it out ASAP.

Went today to one of our favorite brunch locations. You can always depend on good food and huge portions. On today's menu was a salmon and crab omelette with hollandaise sauce. OMG!!!!!! The salmon(lox) to my Jewish friends was on the inside topped with incredible lump crab meat topped with the delicious hollandaise sauce. And to boot they give you potatoes and your choice of bread. To die for!!! Wifie did the turkey bacon, scrambled egg, and cheese on rye toast. You have to go to this place to appreciate how much food they give you. The servers are always kind and your coffee always kept hot and full.

Love this place! I recently moved away and I cannot find a cafe to fill these shoes. The service is amazing and the price is perfect. I truly miss it here!!

Found this place by accident and I'm so glad I did. Food was fresh, huge portions and it's a family run restaurant. Clean, cozy and we'll definitely become regulars.

I am a resident of Jenkintown and feel proud and honored to have John and his family choose our town to open their family cafe--or as the Jenkintown Diner, as I affectionately call it! The food is DELICIOUS, the service is warm, friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is family-friendly. Really and truly the best of all things. Order the burgers, creamed chipped beef, "wedgewich", or the veggie burger to offer a few must-haves. DON'T WAIT! GET OVER HERE!!

Nice place. Friendly staff. If order eggs best to order specialty omelette or sunny side, etc. The scrambled eggs seem to be poured from container kind. Dinner prices a little higher than for breakfast or lunch.

Dinner atmosphere is so intimate. Highly recommend the Lauren and Turkey Dinner. Friendly service is the 'cherry on top' here! We CANNOT wait to go back and try more of their delicious food!!!

In Pennsylvania for a summer internship. Found this quaint little spot. Awesome service and food. I don't even remember what I got, one of the specials they posted outside. Whatever I got i just remember being fully satisfied. I will most likely never be in Jenkintown, PA ever again since Pennsylvania is...waaaaaah. But if I ever do go again, I'm definitely hitting this spot up again.

My only regret leaving this place that my stomach wasn't bigger! Food was excellent, and all the staff were super friendly. Went with my husband for breakfast; he had the sampler and I had one of the specials and both were delicious.

I recently enjoyed a great Saturday breakfast with my guy at this cute & cozy cafe. Decent variety on the menu, with 4-5 daily specials listed. Nice waitstaff with personal, prompt attention. We will be back!

three out of three take outs were dynomite. someone please get over there and order the pulled pork nachos before they replace them with something else! the pulled pork is so good.

  • Erin B.

Amazing!!!! The pulled pork quesadilla is awesome!! For only $8 and it's more then enough for two meals! I've gotten this twice and both times took half home. Served with sour cream, it's delicious! Both times I asked for an extra sour cream to go with my half I was taking home and they gave it with no extra charge, it doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's hard to find customer service like that! My only worry is that they might not last in this location. I've lived around the corner for about 5 years, and have seen amazing family restaurants come and go at this spot. The owner of the restaurant that was here last, 709 cafe, told us the rent was just too high there, and with this new restaurant only being open till 2:00, I worry they will have the same fate. Hopefully as people learn about their amazing food, the hours will change, and more importantly, they will be here to stay!! Check them out, you won't be dissapointed!

Healthy but hungry, try the healthy sampler...won't be disappointed!!

ate there for breakfast this morning.

  • James B.

  • Jenn H.

  • Holly W.

Great local spot. Server was friendly, food was classic, portions were huge and no one minded when my friend and I took up a table for two hours, gabbing.

Food was just OK. First Sunday of the month is a buffet and the food is not worth going out for. Average at best and hard to justify $10 per adult. Service was pleasant and attentive.

I have eaten here a couple of times in the last year and the place is in need of an interior decorator. On the other hand the food it wonderful and the staff is very friendly. I have never had a complaint while eating here.
