Food was good enough. No hibachi tables were available, even though there was one that was open. We had to ask for things like pickled ginger and wassabi for our sushi, and mustard and ginger dipping sauces for the hibachi. First time I have ever had to ask for these things.

I recommend going for lunch. GREAT deal on the Habachi! This place doesn't blow my mind, but it's definately good. Probably been here 20 times in the past 5 years.

Stopped in for a hibachi lunch. Quiet place, polite waitress, tasty food. Nothing special, but I left full and happy.

Use to be my favorite Japanese restaurant until miso opened, but they still have pretty decent sushi and hibachi...however they're new servers aren't the greatest...kind of rude actually.

The food was great and I even ate my zucchini and I never do that. The soup was good and my salad was not runny. If I am ever in the area, I will be back!

Disgusting. I actually got physically ill eating from here. Ordered 3 rolls take-out on a Sunday evening. The spicy tuna had little tiny bits of ice in it, as if it were frozen rather than freshly made. At first I thought they stuck some tempura in there but the bites were crunchy and watery. Couldnt eat it. The fish on top of the rainbow roll was so dry I could not pick the pieces off without them falling apart. I ended up throwing away more than half of the 3 rolls I ordered and still felt sick about a half hour after eating what I did eat.

A Great family owned restaurant! some reviews on here state that servers may be rude but honestly that is more of a cultural difference... i know the owners and they are great people Sometimes service can be slow but the food is always good and the sushi is great and very well priced, you can't beat it! I have always had a good time here and its BYOB so that's a plus. You can get any of the food take out as well Definitely worth checking out

Def. leaves a lot to be desired - the food was good but the atmosphere was horrible. The waitresses seemed a little scatter brained and lost. Wished we knew there would be no alcoholic drinks before we got there. BYOB!

I think this is the only Japanese restaurant in the Hershey area, and I don't recommend it, even if you are looking for your sushi fix. The sashimi pieces were literally thrown on the plate. The sashimi for two was supposed to have 35 pieces. When we told them that there were only 27 pieces, they threw a bunch of imitation crab, smoked salmon, and eel together and gave it to us. The staff is indeed polite, but the quality is not so great. We did not get sick from the food, but did feel a bit queasy. The rice is not sushi-grade, and did not even have the requisite sushi vinegar seasoning. The people eating hibachi seemed to be enjoying themselves.

The food was decent. The waitresses were very rude. We asked 3 times for chopsticks and never received them. We ate our sushi with our fingers! When they brought us our sushi they promptly took away the soy sauce and wouldn't bring it back. To too it off they charged us $2 for a glass of tap water. They were eager to clear everyone out even though we were done eating an hr before they closed on a Saturday night. We never felt welcome from the second we stepped in the door

This is one of my favorite places to eat. The habachi isn't as much of a show as other places, but it's entertaining and the food is always good. I get sushi here a few times a year, and have never had anything that I didn't like. The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet, so it makes for a relaxing dinner experience. The service is always kind and helpful.

I've had take out from this place a few times, not the best sushi I've ever had, but for the price it's very good. The staff is always very nice, and I've never had to wait long. Definitely a solid place.

Table side cookies, "hibachi-style" , is fun to watch, but not as entertaining as it's rival Benihana or does it have the same atmosphere, but a very close second to Benihana's first. Got with a group of friends, up to 8 at a table, and have a great night out! They also have a great Sushi Bar.

Not even close to Benihana quality! Part of the reason we came was because they said this place was close if not better. We went on a Tuesday night and the place was almost empty. We were the only 2 people at a hibachi table, and the waitress even tried to talk us into a booth telling us table "was expensive".

I have been to this place many times and even brought my family from out of town to eat here. However, despite ordering many different things, the food is nothing short of terrible. (I try to give places a chance.) I ordered the fish for the hibachi and you could tell it was frozen. The steamed dumplings tasted like they were out of a package from the Asian store. And the steak and chicken tasted like they had been in the back too long and then over cooked. My husband, who always takes his food home from hibachi grills, decided to pass on taking a doggie bag. I've only had the sushi once but it was nothing to write home about. The service was good, as long as you don't deviate from the menu much. Polite waitresses. I will find another Japanese place for my sushi/hibachi fix.

Boy was I disappointed!!!! I joined their ayce club in York. I've used it in Lancaster as well. But here, it's not ayce, it's 15% off. The service was good. The food was good. But I paid to join their club for ayce. I'm not liking this. I'm reconsidering the membership. They boast that it is ayce in all of their stores. They lied!! This Tokyo Diner is off my list of places to return.

I really like this place. I have never had a bad meal here and always a great time with family and friends! And if you go for lunch you get the same amount of food as dinner for the same price!

Sushi was tasty BUT the amount of fish used in the special rolls was a joke. One roll was filled with avocado and the other with seafood salad. The only fish present was thinly sliced and put on top for decoration. So in essence you're paying for overpriced rice and filler and not for sushi.

Food was pretty decent. I had the Salmon Hibachi, my wife had the Scallop Hibachi, and we shared a Dragon roll. All good eats, especially for a short drive from Hershey Park. Atmosphere was kind of plain, but the fact that they separated the hibachi rooms was nice. We had to ask for things that are fairly typical... We were given forks and had to ask for chop sticks. We got sushi, but had to ask for ginger and wasabi. All easy things to fix. If you are at Hershey Park and looking for a place to eat that isn't at the park and takes less than 10 minutes to get to, this place will likely do the trick.

It was a close nite area for the dinner. The hibachi grill was so close the end looked like we would have got burned. The food is good. The prices like usual to me pricy but when I went to another place it was just the same. The sevice was ok somewhat I did not understand what she was saying. The guy who did the hibachi kept dropping his tools but what he did he did well. There was a water squatter thing that was not very appropriate for anybody including kids. (So you have been warned) Also the did not put all the info about other thing they fried vegs plus shrimp but they should have told me. So if nobody else who like this place. I might not go back.

Tokyo Diner is the WINNER....of the award for restaurant with the WORST SERVICE EVER. I apologize for the long rant, but here is the story: I came here for a friend's surprise birthday party; a small group of 6 for hibachi. Her BF had called in and made a reservation for us for 7:30pm, so we'd all be there to surprise her at 7:45pm. My group arrived at 7:25pm (when the restaurant was maybe half-full), and we first spoke with an older lady telling her we were here for a party and had made a reservation. She clearly did not understand us because she told us to wait and went to the back and didn't return for quite some time. Next we spoke with an older man (presumably the owner) about sitting us. His English wasn't very good, but told us to wait as he was cleaning off a table at one of the hibachi tablesl for us. Success!, or so we thought..... Fast forward about 15 mins. it's 7:40pm. We are still waiting at the front of the restaurant to be seated. We had approached the same old man twice to be seated, and both times he said the table was being cleaned. Finally it was 7:45pm. The "Surprise!" was held at the front door as the birthday girl arrived and we all stood around the front of the restaurant for another few minutes before finally being lead to a table. (we were secretly furious, but happy to finally be seated). As if the lack of understanding or not knowing about our reservation wasn't bad enough, the service got worse. After we were seated at the hibachi table, no one came by to give us a menu or to take drink orders. We sat around and chit chatted for about 5-10 mins before one of us had to literally get up and walk to the front desk and physically grab some menus and bring it back to us. I didn't know this place was a serve-yourself kind of restaurant -__-. After that, we basically had to FLAG DOWN the older lady to take our order. Talk about BAD SERVICE. But it doesn't end there. The restaurant is BYOB, and we had brought some Japanese wine, so we asked for some wine glasses as well as waters and sodas. When the lady brought us our wine glasses, one of them was CLEARLY still dirty and had LIPSTICK on it. EEEEWWW. It was horrifying. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she didn't even apologize. She just said, "Oh, still dirty?" took it and brought back another one (see uploaded photo). The Hibachi is also very lack-luster. The chef was friendly enough, but clearly not well trained considering he dropped alot of stuff like his utensils and couldn't fling chicken pieces into our mouths. The food was also a little on the salty side. Finally, at the end of the night, we asked for some refills on water and soda (since the food was so salty!). The waitress comes back with 2 pitchers, and offers us a refill on our soda. We say yes, and she fills our cups up HALFWAY. And the soda is luke-warm and flat to boot. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PLACE?!?!?! I seriously do not understand how Tokyo Diner is still in business....

This is a nice restaurant for both sushi and for hibachi. I like the decor and the staff is always polite. It may not be as much of a production as Benihana, but Benihana is overrated and over-priced in my opinion and I prefer Tokyo Diner.

Not many places in the area for sushi, but even so I have to say there's is pretty good! Never had anything bad and even for takeout the presentation is very nice. Service has always been great and I've walked in there on many late evenings at 10 minutes to closing and the sushi chef will still make me a great meal and no complaints.
