I was pleasantly surprised to find this spot. Their espresso is the real thing and uber fresh since they roast everything themselves. I had a true Italian macchiato. My wife enjoyed her iced coconut and vanilla latte so much we went back the next day for a second. The milk on my cappuccino the next morning wasn't perfect but it was better than most places. The espresso more than made up for the imperfections in the steaming of the milk. If you are in the area and you appreciate great espresso don't miss out on this gem.

The landscaping here is beautiful, especially their outdoor seating that is off to the side of the building. The inside is very eclectic, and looks like it would be a place that the TV show 'Friends' could have hung out at. Truffle filled cookies are delicious. Watermelon mojito is bizarre. My wife and I find ourselves in Harrisburg several times per year, and no matter where we are, we always seek out excellent, local eateries. We learned of this place through an online deal site, and we're so thankful we did. Awesome in every way. Friendly staff. Awesome decor. Great coffee. Cozy. We wish we had something like this where we live. Each and every time we're back in Harrisburg, St. Thomas Roasters will have us throwing money at them. Easy 5-stars.

Freshly roasted coffee, friendly owner and staff, always a delight to swing by. They roast the coffee beans in-house, so the aroma is all around you the minute you step inside. They've got street and lot parking, too. It's a bit cramped during peak hours. When the weather is nice, you can sit on their front porch. This place is always a must for our trips to Harrisburg.

Great Refreshing Coffee roasted in-house. I usually drink their Java and then so for a run on Linglestown Road. My pace ROCKS that day. Good amount of parking can be found behind the business. Genuine Coffee House. Saturdays and Sundays is usually swamped by cyclists and runners. I haven't tried their pastries - as a matter of fact I don't even know if they serve any. This place is very popular for their coffee and that's what I stop there for.

This is a great little coffee shop with unique drinks and fabulous soup! If you are looking for a place to sit a spell, St Thomas Roasters offers a unique setting with free WiFi and tasty treats. Its a great little cafe to do some reading, catch up with friends, or even do some work of your own. We tried some sandwiches and drinks which were all good, but the thing that stood out the most was the soup! A chicken and kale soup that was flawlessly prepared. Stop by on the regular and see whats brewing. You can always take a cup to go.

I made a 35 minute drive to try this place out and I couldn't be more disappointed. The small iced coffee I bought (for around $2.50) was extremely tiny. It looked like one of those free cups that Panera gives you to get water in. The coffee was extremely bitter and completely undrinkable. I had to throw it away -- which is really disappointing for a place that brews their own coffee. The atmosphere was very home-spun crafty and there was ample seating on the porch and outside the building. If you live in this area, I'm sure this is a cool place to hang out but I certainly wouldn't recommend making a special trip here.

Big fan of this place. Great coffee selections. And I love dropping in here for lunch because their paninis are delicious! I have also gotten one of their daily soups on special and that was also great. Their pastries look awesome but I am normally there for lunch so I always resist the temptation to get one. Oh and their quiche is on point!

Had a tall cappucino and a chocolate muffin. The roast in the cappucino was great, and the size awesome. But it was very milky, almost more a late than a cappucino. I reckon a smaller size with more espresso would have been better (or they need to add an extra shot into the tall, which is already pricy at over $4). The muffin was superb. Airy and moist, but not too sweet.

I'm unsure where to start...... My boyfriend and I found this place while searching for a great cup of coffee on a road trip from NY to VA. I read reviews for about 30 minutes and we were excited about trying this place out. I am a hardcore Americano lover, but due to a review that raved about the Chai Latte I decided to try it; I have had a pretty good chai latte a time or two, but this one was as though I got it from the 7/11 cappuccino machine (no offense to 7/11)- no foam, way too sugary, powder poured from a bag. Pretty disappointing. I took several sips and got rid of it and opted for a small Americano. The Americano was so watered down, it wasn't strong enough to be a drip coffee. I doubt it had espresso in it. If you can't master a few shots of espresso and hot water you prob can't make much else correctly. My boyfriend ordered a medium Americano and it was decent, much better than mine. We had a few homemade chocolate truffle cookies that were ok, nothing to rave about, the other pastries and dishes looked good and potentially homemade. The service was slow, but decent. I would recommend not venturing off the path if you're on a road trip or on a tight timeline, it just isn't worth your time. I am a true supporter of mom and pop/ hometown businesses (I truly wanted to love this place) and am not a Starbucks fan, but I prob would've been happier with an Americano or Chai latte from there. Smooth, Hot, and Fresh!! Espresso, Drip, and Lattes! Does anyone else hate road trip coffee? I'm talking the acidic "convenient 24 hour big box shops" coffee. Yuck! I may be a coffee snob but if I am going to pay $3 + for a cup of coffee it better be good! This mom and pop shop has just the opposite. Fresh, reasonably priced, and roasted on site. Yum!!! If your traveling west on I-81 W this is only 4 minutes of track. It's worth every second. We took ours to go but the cafe offers simple meals all which looked very yummy. It's a cozy vintage atmosphere with sofas, chairs, and a Victorian rug. When passing through, I will definitely come back! Thank you St Thomas' Roasters!

What a totally lovely place. Worth a detour off 81. It's a very do-able distance from the highway, maybe a 5 minute detour and the coffee is fabulous. We were driving down from Rhode Island to North Carolina for a funeral and we'd reached the end of our tolerance for Starbucks and D&D coffee. The residue was coating our teeth, it was awful. So we yelped a real coffee shop and found this place and MAN was it worth it. Delicious (and cheap!) coffee, delightful staff, excellent sausage eggs and cheese croissants and a cinnamon bun.

The quiche and scone were DELICIOUS! The medium latte tasted like hot milk. I GUESS locals prefer weak coffee. ..I had the same experience in Vernal Utah. ALTHOUGH I have had some great cappuccinos on our usa crosscountry trip. Thus coffee is second to the bottom. TOO BAD because was a delightful spot.

I love this place! I got a groupon so I come here all the time. Each time I come I get a coffee, yogurt with granola and coffee beans to take home. Their coffee beans are fresh (I know cause I grind and brew my own coffee at home with my chemex) I usually stay a few hours to study while enjoying my coffee.

A very old Euro-style coffee house (inside only - outside looks American). They roast their own coffee, the pastries are excellent and they'll have you down for breakfast. This is a great place to unwind.

I came here with my son and was able to enjoy some music pick out 4 different beans to take home and enjoy a mudslide brownie all in the course of about 20 minutes which was great because I did not feel rushed at all. The person helping me choose my beans was helpful and friendly and I loved the smell of the Nicaragua beans that were curing in the roasting pan. I smelled the bag(s) of fresh roasted coffees all the way home which was a treat- the Columbian supremo was roasted earlier that day so I had to try it even though I was more excited to have the Sumatra based on the description...the staff was helpful and it is easy to find with so much to offer- scones, chocolate covered pretzels and fresh brewed coffee to sample I love this place!

Just happened to be passing through Linglestown so we decided it was a good idea to stop in here and have a cup of coffee. St. Thomas Roasters is a quaint little Coffeehouse with a rustic antique motif. It's a very comfortable little shop that offers all the modern coffee drinks. The baristas are cordial and friendly. My wife says it doesn't surpass our favorite Coffeehouse the Cornerstone but I am sure there are locals that would disagree! Like I always say I don't compare I only like to experience. Great little Coffeehouse so if Linglestown and thirsty for a coffee or latte or a mocha or cappuccino give St.Thomas Roasters a shot you won't be disappointed!

I'm torn on how to rate this coffee shop & roaster. I was very impressed until I bought one of my favorites from them, Guatemala Antigua, and too late noticed that it was a month old. For a sealed air-tight package sitting on a grocery shelf, I'd expect that. But no self-respecting coffee roaster is going to let coffee sit around in open buckets for a month then sell it at normal price. Very disappointed with them. I believe a can of Folgers would taste fresher.

St. Thomas Roasters is one of my favorite local coffee shops. Every city I go to, I try to find atmosphere similar to St. Thomas, but I have not yet found anything similar. very sweet and cozy place, with lots of mismatched tables and chairs, games, books, etc. The coffee is decent (no french press or pourovers, but good espresso), and they usually offer four different brews and rotate it every few weeks. Beans are freshly roasted everyday in the in-house roaster. They also offer loose-leaf teas, green, rooibos, black, etc, all very smooth. Awesome little shop in the heart of Linglestown, owned and operated by Geof and Pam Smith. They have a decent selection of newspapers for sale, books to read as well as adverts for local businesses and events. There is a large coffee roaster in the middle of the room, behind the counter. They sell some simple breakfast and lunch items as well, sandwiches, muffins, several flavors of coffee, latte and espresso. On street parking.

Friendly owners, great local atmosphere, and the flavored drip coffee is excellent--this coming from someone who doesn't even like flavored coffee. The specialty cups don't come with the refinement that NYC living made me accustomed to, but the flavors are still well-balanced. The large drip coffee is an incredible value (3 refills of 4 daily flavors). The wifi was recently upgraded and is more reliable than most local shops. Roasting days are a treat, as the shop carries some delicious aromas. A regular haunt for me.

Firstly, this coffee house is the friendliest bunch of people I have ever met. This is not a hip and trendy style coffeeshop its more of a old home converted into a roaster and parlor. Went in while one older man was roasting beans right beside the cafe bar I chatted a few minutes about the drinks they suggest and recommend (even though I am a avid coffee drinker it was nice to hear some bean talk). The house is a bit cluttered with tables but it seems to work and they had a lot of regulars that doesn't seem to mind the bustle of the coffee making. The wrap around porch was also nice, with chairs if you want to sit outside. The espresso was nice in both of the latte's I tried. I will be back because I love these little privately owned coffeehouses.

For the first time since I started going here I had a bad experience. My coffee order wasn't quite right - in a rare act of unfettered girlishness I ordered a frou-frou coffee. After an afternoon of hiking on the side of a nearby mountain, I was craving the experience of smelling the freshly roasted coffee in a toasty warm ceramic mug. What I got was a half-full Styrofoam cup with a lid. It was supposed to be topped with whipped cream and honey drizzle and dusted with cinnamon. Instead, it was just coffee with some syrup. I couldn't even taste the syrup flavor and there was no sweetness. I asked about the whipped cream and the other goodies and the girl behind the counter said, "oh, you want that?" DUH! I just ordered the frou-frou drink you have a picture of on the counter. Yes, I would like for it to look like that. Two hot chocolates (one of which was only about 3/4 full), one plain coffee, my frou-frou drink that barely filled the cup and two VERY VERY STALE chocolate covered pretzels sprinkled with peanuts (the peanuts tasted so old they were almost rancid tasting and the pretzel was that "mealy" texture you get on old pretzels that should be tossed) came to about $15. That's insane. The smell of this place is intoxicating. The next time I will stick to the plain old coffee that has never done me wrong at this place and I'll skip the stale pretzels.

This place - the best. I loved growing up in Linglestown, and I love St. Thomas Roasters! Do you see a coffee roaster in dunkin' donuts? how about starbucks? If you want fresh coffee, this is the place to go! The light fare food is wonderful and the service is always a delight. Live music on the weekends. This place is great for hanging out with friends or for some simple self reflection. Now that I have moved away, I visit st. thomas roasters any time tha ti am home. : )

If you want freshly roasted coffee, it just doesn't get any better than St. Thomas Roasters. Geoff, the owner, is friendly, and always up for chatting while he roasts coffee. My favorite is the Nicaragua grown... Strictly high grown AND the Fair Trade... I slightly prefer the strictly high grown, but I buy the Fair Trade for ethical reasons. Regardless, they are probably the only local coffee house that roasts their own beans. They also have a slew of loose leaf teas. Solid tasting food, and generally very good soup, makes this a great lunch place, and if I still worked near there, I'd be eating there several times a week. As far as the atmosphere, it is a very relaxed place.. A really good place to work, catch up with a friend, or read while having some great coffee. I would go here everyday and twice on saturday rather than a national chain...

Just stopped in for a pound of coffee since I was in the area getting my hair done. I hadn't been here before since the traffic in Lingletown was crazy, but that was before they put the traffic circles in. Now, it's *so* much better. The coffee, the Linglestown Roast, is fantastic! I'll definitely be back again.

Best fresh roasted coffee in the area. Great people, great atmosphere. It's always nice to see Geof roasting beans and having a friendly conversation. You won't have to come too many times and he'll know your name. A great "3rd place" for life!

I wanted to like this place. I wanted a hot latte on the stronger side, and I did not get that. I even asked if the beans were going to be dark and the server indicated they were espresso beans. However the latte was weak tasting and really not that great ; I was disappointed after having read all these reviews. I am giving 3 stars because the place was cute and clean, the customers were all enjoying themselves, and the server was very nice.

For the first time since I started going here I had a bad experience. My coffee order wasn't quite right - in a rare act of unfettered girlishness I ordered a frou-frou coffee. After an afternoon of hiking on the side of a nearby mountain, I was craving the experience of smelling the freshly roasted coffee in a toasty warm ceramic mug. What I got was a half-full Styrofoam cup with a lid. It was supposed to be topped with whipped cream and honey drizzle and dusted with cinnamon. Instead, it was just coffee with some syrup. I'm torn on how to rate this coffee shop & roaster. I was very impressed until I bought one of my favorites from them, Guatemala Antigua, and too late noticed that it was a month old. For a sealed air-tight package sitting on a grocery shelf, I'd expect that. But no self-respecting coffee roaster is going to let coffee sit around in open buckets for a month then sell it at normal price. Very disappointed with them. I believe a can of Folgers would taste fresher.

I love this place! I got a groupon so I come here all the time. Each time I come I get a coffee, yogurt with granola and coffee beans to take home. Their coffee beans are fresh (I know cause I grind and brew my own coffee at home with my chemex) I usually stay a few hours to study while enjoying my coffee.

A very old Euro-style coffee house (inside only - outside looks American). They roast their own coffee, the pastries are excellent and they'll have you down for breakfast. This is a great place to unwind.

I came here with my son and was able to enjoy some music pick out 4 different beans to take home and enjoy a mudslide brownie all in the course of about 20 minutes which was great because I did not feel rushed at all. The person helping me choose my beans was helpful and friendly and I loved the smell of the Nicaragua beans that were curing in the roasting pan. I smelled the bag(s) of fresh roasted coffees all the way home which was a treat- the Columbian supremo was roasted earlier that day so I had to try it even though I was more excited to have the Sumatra based on the description...the staff was helpful and it is easy to find with so much to offer- scones, chocolate covered pretzels and fresh brewed coffee to sample I love this place!

The coffee is exquisite. The beverages blended perfectly. The service friendly, and the atmosphere charming. St. Thomas is quite simply a local treasure. All the comfort and charm of a café without any of the pretension. A truly rare place.
