Love the chicken. The cashier was very polite and happy to wait on us. We ordered a 12 pc tenders family meal a 9 pc nugget meal and a 3 pc meal. It took 30 min for our order to get put together because of the drive thru people taking the tenders for the drive thru customers. I know that they need to get them thru faster but come on. It's supposed to be fast food, not moderately paced food. Staff apologized for the delay though. Still worth the wait. Popeyes chicken is *$@&ing awesome.

Good food, but service stinks. We love Popeyes chicken, but every time we come here something ends up being wrong with our order. Tonight they forgot to give a 5piece tender which I had ordered through driveway. Only thing they offered to do was to replace it on my next visit. I don't go there often. Probably will not return. This location gives Popeyes a bad name.

This has been quite A-OK twice now. open in a snow storm (not this week), and open and friendly later this spring. it's not quite the right food to catch while headed south while driving, but if you want to sit and eat, it's ok. they have several interesting menu items, it's a place to go when you are tired of subway, and more interesting than State college restaurants. look forward to going again.

Worst popeyes ive ever been to. Rice is always nasty and scraped from the bottom. Chicken is never fresh. Popeyes is my favorite fast food. But this is the worst one ive been to.

I love, love, love, love, love that chicken from Popeyes. But I regret that the service here is horrid. I noticed that someone in a review two years ago mentioned subpar service. This is the service that we've come to expect from this location. As long as I've been visiting this location, I've never had great service. Last night was no exception. Being in close proximity to the Farm Show makes it pretty popular. We arrive around 5:45 pm to one cashier and a line of 9 people in front of us. It took us 10-15 minutes to get up to order. The cashier was nice eniough and we received our food quickly. But the dining room was a mess. It's fairly obvious that this location has staffing issues and it never seems to be fully staffed. Which is disappointing, but it won't keep me from ordering their chicken when I'm in town.

Stopped here after going to the convention center and it was terrible! I ordered a bottled water and when I asked for it I was given butter than I was told after I asked again that they were out. I took a cup for another drink since it wasn't worth the hassle of getting a credit and all but three sodas were not working. Then on the way out I stopped to use the restroom which was a huge mistake. The women's stall didnt have any toilet paper so I went into the men's to grab some and the toilet was full of urine. Then I go back into the women's bathroom and their is urine all over the seat. It was disgusting. The entire visit was horrible from start to finish!

Really bad service. Tried to use a coupon then tried to modify the order after paying with a credit card. Not a good idea not to pay with cash. Rude cashier told me that they would have to cancel the entire order instead of just refunding me the excess payment. Since there were a long line behind me I did not want to do that. Food was not ready in a timely manner. Employees really disorganized. Food is above average. Sweet tea was not sweet, tasted like it was unsweetened. Lesson learned: always bring cash and never try to use their online coupon which requires you to buy a drink with each item.

This is not the best Popeye's in the world but it has made a bunch of improvements since new management took over. At one time the food was usually awful but recently it has gotten better. The employees are usually nice, every now and again you might get a ghetto attitude. Main point is this- while this isn't the best Popeye's in the world it has made the jump from sub par/ barely edible food to pretty darn decent most of the time. I pass by this location frequently & stop in every couple of weeks when the mood for cajon spices strikes!!

I love Popeye's fried chicken and generally stick to the Regular although I love the spicy. The biscuits and the cajun rice are consistently good and my old Popeyes used to offer corn on the cob. I have to take a star away from them because this location is sub par. Again I have to concur with Mia that as much as I love this greasy fried chicken chain .... this particular location needs improvement. I am a big fan of drive thru but I had to go inside once because drive through was closed. Once I was inside, I was waited on by the SLOWEST "manager" ever. I actually thought that this person was mentally impaired. That is not meant to be a mean jab but an honest interpretation of my experience. The 'cook' was so frustrated that he ended up manning the counter as well, was vociferous in his complaints and basically demanded tips. This was very uncomfortable for all customers in the now very long line. In addition, this particular Popeyes was not that clean. I chalk this up as a bad experience and it did happen in 2007 but needless to say, I haven't been back to this one since.

I really feel sorry for the employees working here, as, their isn't a Manager present! One time we came in, it was too hot & they stated the "manager" forgot to turn on air conditioning!! Really!! So, for all you, that are complaining about the employes, you should look at their side! Would you want to be cooking chicken, in high heat, without the air conditioning on??! We "never" got a bad meal here, Ever! Chicken is cooked to perfection & how about those great biscuits?? These are devoted employees...making about $$ nothing! Want to complain~ then do it to the head CEO! I worked for 27 years in the private sector, but, worked 8 years in the restaurant industry , part time! (with my full time job!) So, you people complaining, go work in this industry & you will learn quick! Employees are "used" to cover up the mess, of No management! All restaurant workers, work very hard...for nothing...Federal guidelines pay you $2.50 an hr.!!! What is that all about?

Just horrible. Thought some fried chicken would be great to have for lunch with my wonderful backyard tomatoes. It was just horrible - greasy and totally inedible. Never again. Been to other Popeyes and they were great. The franchise should just close the Harrisburg location. Yech!

In the two years since I wrote my first review, a lot has changed at this location. On a whim, we drove by a few weeks ago and saw that the place has been completely remodeled. It's clean now! Nothing is caving in! Alrighty then. We decided to give it another try. The service was friendly and efficient - a huge improvement over surly and ridiculous. I would like to think that horrified yelpers got thru to the franchisee and made them realize they were losing serious coin by operating a pit of hell overseen by D students. Nicely done. You've earned a retraction, and a frequent customer. Cajun sparkle FTW.

Long wait in the drive thru for service, but well worth it. Polite staff, though a bit harried and nervous due to being busy. The food was perfect. Hot fries, nice size chicken tenders, and a buttery biscuit that melted in my mouth. I'll be back for more.

This is the best fried chicken in Harrisburg when you want to get your ' eat-on.' Inside is scuzzy. I still go. The workers are surprisingly good.

I've been eating at this Popeyes location for years, typically after Sunday church service. The food is always delicious, but what keeps me from giving a 5 star rating is that they will run out of chicken sometimes - which can be quite disappointing when you crave Cajun food. That being said, Popeyes is much better than KFC and the atmosphere is even comical - with the staff teasing each other and making the whole experience fun.

Excellent day for a ride and when the smell of food hit my face, I decided I would pull off and grab something from Popeyes. Hadn't been here in years, I remember the chicken was good enough, however for my taste, just a little too peppery/spicy for me, maybe I'm just spoiled from KFC or something. I decided to get a Sandwich and it was good enough for me, not exactly the big piece of chicken that the picture showed, but we all should be aware that looks can and will be deceiving. The service was a little slow but that's probably because they were just coming out of the lunch rush so everyone had that "Oh thank god it's over" look on their faces. At least they were semi friendly.

I love Popeye's spicy strips but I avoid this location. Slow service and horrible attitudes by most employees. Fries are always drenched in grease and there is always a long wait for food that's been sitting out for longer than it should. Stay away from this location.

When it comes down to it - I don't need all the frills. Just hook me up with some fried chicken n mash taters and I'm gravy. That being said, I LOVE Popeyes. Back in the days - we used to hit up Popeyes every Friday after a Bayridge shisha session. However, that was Popeyes in Astoria... And like Dorothy, I'm a long way from Kansas (and New York). I've never had worse Popeyes ever ever. I mean, yeah I didn't expect it to be as good as let's say Popeyes in Houston - but this place is out right disgusting. I guess eating inside the non-air conditioned "restaurant" in the heat of summer was my first mistake. The chicken wasn't HORRIBLE... If you do the drivethru and you don't have much to compare it to - it's edible.
