Wish I could give it zero stars. Please for the love of God do NOT let me go here again!!! $29.59 for two people. It was dirty & their promotion of 5 steaks??? I didn't see steak. Not 1! I saw a weird looking bowl of chili but not steak. The food was cheap & They took no pride in keeping the salad bar clean & stocked. I'm thinking about calling the health department! They had 2 hot small buffet stations with the normal bland fair. Hardly any choices at all. What they did have was dry or gross. Almost $30 for that crap? Wow. Absolutely disgusting. Seriously. Ick!!

I went there during lunch time. Despite the hour, place was pretty much empty. Half the restaurant wasnt filled. Food was just awful. Vegetables at the salad bar were dry. Fried chicken was burnt. Green beans were dry. Chicken pot pie was alright. Overall, i couldve cooked better meals. The food quality was just horrible and there qasnt much of a selection. Desser buffet wasnt any better. You can tell when a business is going downhill and trust me Old Country is already going that path. Save your money and go elsewherw

Oh my GOSH!!! I was just remembering how often we used to eat here in the past. Taking my now 14 year old son here when he was just a baby. We'd take turns going to the salad bar while watching him drink his bottle. The food then was tolerable but not fantastic!. I can honestly say that tonight's visit has been the biggest disappointment I've ever had in the 14 years we'd been going to this restaurant. I haven't been here for the past 2 years, and it might be another 2 years until I come back. The food is dull and bland. At supper time everything was already eaten and there weren't many people replenishing the food choices. EVERYTHING tasted so bleck.... they put in a taco bar... again, bland. What used to be a nice assortment of pasta salads like macaroni, penne, coleslaw and potato is now taken up by the taco bar. What used to be the salad bar with plenty of fresh fruit and many salad options is now bland and with not as many appetizing options as before. They moved a mere 2 pasta salad selections to this section. What used to be 8 options is now two. You will now be charged for the beverage area. They have a slushie and a cappuccino machine. We didn't use either of them. The kids in the restaurant seemed to love messing around with it. I didn't even visit the dessert bar. I was so disappointed by the rest of the experience that I didn't want to add insult to injury. They never had a really good dessert section anyway, so I didn't feel as though I was missing out on anything. All in all, it will be a long time before I decide to give this place another try. We paid over $10 a person per meal plus an additional $1.99 for the beverage bar...of which each of us only went back once for a refill in their small 8 ounce glasses.

Nothing exciting. The food was ok.

The food was bad, but that was okay because they never had any. We just happened to end up there when they were slammed with two full buses of people. They had plenty of seating, but always ran out of food! My daughter got mac and cheese and it was still frozen and my sister got meat that was still bleeding. Maybe if we had gone at a time when they weren't so busy the food would have been cooked because they wouldn't have been rushing to get it out.

My wife and I visited here yesterday. I actually wanted to like it. I tried... First problem I ran into was it was actually a little hard to get in with a wheelchair. I was surprised by this. The place seemed warm too. A nice lady cleaning the tables agreed. lol. Staff seemed very pleasant. Food in my opinion was very average. Tried a sampling of a few items. Ribs seemed pretty good. Steak I felt was tough. They apparently do breakfast now. That might be better. I may wait awhile and try them again. And while the accessibility for most would not be a problem for me it was tough. Mostly in the doors.

My mother treated my girlfriend and I to lunch so we couldn't really complain...but now that I am home let me just say that it was the worst food I've eaten in a buffet in my life. My gf agrees. I tried over a dozen different selections of food and couldn't eat more than a few bites of any of it. Even the cheesecake which is usally always a winner in my opinion was gross. Everything looked old and picked over. Everything tasted bland. I will never visit another Old Country Buffet anywhere.

Old Country buffet is okay. they sometimes have coupons in the mail. i have been there about a dozen times, Bob P. the owner is very nice. okay selection, lunch is around 7 dollars, dinner is around 10. you can sign up for a free meal coupon on their website though. meatloaf, chicken pot pie, pizza, mashed potatoes, roast beef, italian sausage and bean soup, chicken fajitas, fried shrimp, spaghetti, BBQ roast beef, potroast, baked fish. nice selection of ham, pork, beef, i like the meat the best. apple pie is delicous too. plus the salad bar is okay. it's not my favorite place to eat out, but the staff is very friendly and always smiling. Usually is very busy, lots of seniors and families there.

First i have to say it is getting way to expensive to eat here. We went tonight and it was 25 freaking dollars for just the two of us to eat! This might not be a problem if half their food didn't suck. it seems any beef they have is cooked rare (or at least it is when I am there) which would be ok for some, but not me. I do not like my meat mooing at me. They had clam strips tonight which I thought was a nice change, until i tried them and they were way over cooked and rubbery like. About the only thing I find that is good every time is the mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, ice cream, & cheese cake. However i need more than just hose items to make a decent meal. They are never consistent with their food (unless you count crappy as being consistent) and their prices just keep going up. My advice: find somewhere else to eat. Or better yet I vote to bring Ponderosa back!

My friends and I went after attending a large bbq at my house so we didnt really eat too much but we wanted to stop by on our way back to NYC. We really enjoyed the food and the prices were super cheap. I really enjoy this kind of American food and I wish there was a Old Country Buffet in NYC :P

I love this place. The price is right for families around lunch time. I love the fired chicken and the green beans. The staff is friendly and the food has southern buffet charm with lots of comfort food. But make no mistake, it is an in and out buffet. Don't expect some spectacular buffet like you might see in Vegas. It is a chain and an overall average buffet.

Had lunch there the other day. You know what you're going to get going in; basic decent food with a winner or two such as the fried chicken and clunkers which vary. It was a little chilly and I was looking forward to some soup. Got a bowl of chicken noodle. What I never expected was to find RAW chicken and lots of it. Told a staff person -not a a manager- who shrugged and said he'd change it. Didn't care to try it again. At least I know everything doesn't come pre-cooked and frozen from a warehouse.

Went there on a Saturday at 5 o'clock more than half the entrées were empty!!! The dessert bar was can put it wiped out and dirty. It was not that crowded it just seems to me the manager let it go!!! When I filled out the survey they were supposed to call me or email me neither one happened, well not go back again

has definitely gone down hill lately. Price has gone up as well to the point where it is no longer a restaurant where you overlook some things because it is cheap, because it is no longer cheap. Biggest complaint - food not kept stocked and not a very big variety. The whole layout needs to be updated so they can offer more different types of food. Their STEAK specials are a joke - the quality of the steak is so bad it is not really worth the effort of standing in line - and it is always well done. What I do like? The fried chicken and meatloaf are my favorites, however the fried chicken never stays in stock and they are slow to refill. Last time I was there even after notifying manager about the empty chicken tray, it was more than 10 minutes before it was refilled. In my opinion, the whole restaurant needs to be revamped.

Went here with my family and was seriously disappointed. The food was bland, and most of the stuff was empty. It was filthy I was ready to get a manager but my family told me to suck it up. I'll make sure to go to the one in Wilkes barre from now on.

As others have said, the price is a little high, especially since my husband and I don't really eat that much at meals in general, so buffets aren't really a deal for us. We stopped here on Thanksgiving and the turkey and cornbread stuffing were really good. We were very disappointed in the desserts though. Everything was hard from sitting out, but the brownies were bordering on comical because they were so hard that you could probably hammer a nail in to a piece of wood with them!

Old Country Buffet, though not as good as Golden Corral, remains an excellent place to enjoy a wide variety of well-prepared foods at a low price. I appreciate that there are many healthful options, and that one of the best salad bars can be found here. The price, although reasonable, has increased to the point that it is not affordable for many families on a budget: $11.79 for adults plus a new charge of $2.29 for a beverage which used to be included in the price of the meal. This may explain why a restaurant which used to be filled with people waiting in line for a table now is about 30% full on a weeknight. I hope the place will survive!

My grandma and I ate here on a slow monday night. Food was much better than I ever remember it being. Friendly employees, place was packed by the time we left there. We will definitely go back, as this place has improved significantly.

This was my parent's go-to place when they didn't want to be bothered with feeding three boys of varyingly different culinary likes. A contributing factor to adulthood weight issues?? Probably. But to this day I can still break my diet, unhitch my belt and get down at the OCB! This one isn't the cleanest or run by the nicest of staff. But it's cheap and will do in a pinch. You'll be hard set to eat healthily with anything besides the salad bar. But have you seen the people who frequent OCB? We're not talkin' health nuts, y'all! Just beware of going on a Sunday afternoon! All the church peops innundate this location! I used to be among them. So I know from what I speak!

They had a very good set up in their food area. There was one section just for salads, and one section for making tacos or for getting a bowl of soup, as well as a carving station and another area set up for side dishes. They had a very nice dessert area with a nice variety of items. I ate there with my family and there was plenty of selections for my children who tend to be picky eaters. Overall it was a good place to eat but remember it is a buffet. The only fault that I had with the place was that some of their salad looked a little wilted and on their dessert bar their apple crisp was dried out and it looked like they weren't replenishing it anytime soon. All in all the price was right for a family of four to have dinner out and I would recommend trying this place.
