Ok so we were hungry and were attracted by the 4 star rating. But I should have looked into more detail about the cleanliness of the dining. The menus probably hadn't been cleaned since the hidden review that mentioned it 4 years ago. A tired building I can understand. Dirty tables and disgusting menus added to the fact the server gave us plenty of time to allow our revulsion to grow by seating us and then disappearing meant we left and went elsewhere. I can't believe a health inspector would let this fly. How can you eat food from a place that has these hygiene standards?

The good is average. I had shrimp fried rice and egg foo young. The batter on the egg foo young bubbled up and was crispy, which is odd. The rice was burned a bit, but had nice flavor. We started to dine in since it was Saturday night and the restaurant was totally empty, but the place was impossibly filthy, complete with sticky menus and dirty tablecloths.

Always good food no matter what you get. The Mongolian Beef and the Orange Beef are the best.

I love their food! I've been coming here almost my entire life and I have never been disspointed. The staff is all very nice and the food is great. They have had the same chef for I don't even know how many years and he knows how to cook! Don't let the appearance of the place fool you because the food is to die for!

Fantastic northern Chinese food. Service was good, and attentive. Gave us crispy noodles when we arrived. Ordered lunch special twice cooked pork. Very tender, flavorful and spicy. Vegetables tasted fresh and not canned. Egg drop soup was decent. Fried rice was tender and flavorful. Egg Roll was fresh, hot and stuffed full. Very good for those who like the Northern Chinese food.

Don't judge a book by its cover..best Authentic Chinese in the area. The owner is very friendly and service is always great. Best egg drop soup and all 10+ entrees I've had have been delicious. You can dine in or take out..the ambience is old but the drive home smelling the food is torture. Take out is usually ready in 20 minutes. Unlike most Chinese restaurants if you ask for extra spicy it's going to come out extra spicy and they allow me to alter sauces etc. My favorites are hunan and szechuan chicken, beef or shrimp. They have a small selection of mixed drinks and beer as well as a private room for groups.

As a fan of Asian food Thai, Japanese, Chinese. I had written this place off years ago for they were one of the original Chinese restaurants in the Harrisburg area, the first to have a buffet. I recently on a whim went back and rediscovered what Chinese food is supposed to be. I am definitely going to go back again soon they could use some renovations on the look of the place as it is a portal to the 70's that's a good thing though because the quality of the food is very good. The spicy dishes are spicy and just complex enough you can taste the various levels of flavors in the ingredients.

Good take on authentic Chinese food, their Egg Foo Yung sauce is more of a brown sauce than a thickened gravy like most places serve. My wife enjoys the thin-sliced crispy eggplant dish, which doesn't seem to be available in any other local place. Decor is traditional "American Chinese restaurant" with Oriental motif and color schemes. Only had one small unhappy experience, which was due to a change in the manner of the preparation of a single dish, the food has otherwise been solidly tasty and well-prepared. Eat here with confidence, you'll be getting your money's worth and good service too.

very tasty chinese food. OLD SCHOOL recipes- Chow mein is best I ever had and everything else is good too. Off the beaten path but not too far out of the way. Plenty of parking, good service and great food.there are 3 old school chinese restaurants that have the best food. this is one of them and the other is their hershey location. while I can get good chinese good at the typical places all over the place, if you want chinese food that has that extra notch in quality and taste, this place is it. The other place is Tony Wangs in Lancaster. Please take the time to read the FLAGGED reviews. YELP, you really need to do a better job at filtering reviews as 99% of the time your system gets legit reviews and flags them as spam. I am starting to go to other sites for reviews and posting as they all do a better job. but PLEASE do something about those poor goldfish. 30 some goldfish in a 10 gallon tank with water so dirty you can not see more than one inch into the water. Its an eye sore.
